Went there for early dinner and ordered lobster tail with risotto, and it’s very salty, and that’s why I’m giving just 3 stars. Nice plating though. Their desserts, hmmm too sweet to my liking, I ordered perfect chocolate cake but it’s not available so I tried their everything cheesecake, and didn’t like it, but I was able to taste their baklava, and I liked it, so, that I recommend ☺️ but I will still going back to try some of their food. 😍
These guys can really cook! Beautiful presentation as well as a variety of delicious food! Everything was perfect but the best part about this mom and pops restaurant is the upstairs bakery area!!! Everything is made in house and I love a from scratch kitchens because they have the best desserts!!! Check them out as soon as you can!
Food was not good at all. Drinks were ok but Ill never go back and I really wanted to love it. Service was slow but out waiter was nice. Had a party of about 10 and no one liked their food.
A quick stop to their back store for dessert. They have a wide selection of desserts making it hard to choose JUST one. You won’t be sad making a trip after dinner here like we did
You will wait a very lo g time for ANY service. The food was presented beautifully. But the amount of food for the price was awful. I had the salmon (scrumptious). The filet mignon was disappointing covered in potatoe sticks. My friends both told me they are leaving hungry and going to get supper on the way home. The deserts are cakes and pies are about $10/slice. I took 5 pieces home for my family. The server handed me them I looked in each box and 1 slice had a chunk, the size of 1/3 the slice just missing off the end. The waitress saw it and rather than replacing it with a full slice, she threw a another small partial chunk of cake on top of it to and said there thats fine, isnt it? I said for $10/slice it is disappointing. The carrot cake and baclava cheesecake were both ample.
Im here right now. We had a 6pm reservation. They were out of mashed potatoes. They only had one NY Strip. They took half our orders, disappeared for 20 minutes until we finally asked for someone to finish our orders. Even after that, they forgot an entire order. At this present time we are ordering dessert, they have one side of FBF Cake (their signature). They dont have the turtle brownie, the list goes on and on. I will say that the food they did have was good, so I send compliments to the chef ONLY. Service and Im assuming management (or whomever is in charge of food orders and supplies) need some serious work. Money isnt an issue, but I wont be back to spend this much money for the experience we had tonight.
My favorite restaurant in Tallahassee! You could get anything on the menu and it’ll be good and don’t even get me started on the desert menu! Ooo it’s all so good! Today, when I ordered my usual (black beans & rice with salmon) it was just so good! I had to finally leave a review for this place.
This is our work spot. I think we should get our own table or something like that! The restaurant is very chill. The menu can be as basic as you want to a little fancy. I always get the Buffalo chicken and it never disappoints and the collards do not either!
Outside seating was great. Food was fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to have serving us. Will definitely be going back.
Just went in for a piece of cake between appointments... Had the Carrot cake... OMGoodness!! What a wonderful experience for a late afternoon sit-down... I think it was the best Carrot Cake I have ever had! I had a cup of hot tea and sat there and ate every bit of it! Cant wait to go back for Dinner!
My caramelized salmon was perfect. Asparagus was crisp tender. The blue cheese wedge was delicious as were the crab cakes. We were a party of 8 but the server did excellently. The drinks/ cocktails are expensive. We sat outdoors and the blazing got sun was in our eyes. So ask for shady or inside table.
We went to Food Glorious food Friday night for dinner. This is normally one of our go to restaurants. While the food overall I would rate as good, I don’t know if it was exceptional as I usually remember it being. I got the sirloin and the portion size was incredibly small (specially for the price paid). My wife got the tuna steak, which was pretty fair overall, but again, not what I would call exceptional. I still think the restaurant is good and has good potential but my experience was the quality was not was I remembered from past visits.
Definitely a must try when in Tallahassee! The food was fresh and delicious and our waitress Hailey took amazing care of my family. 100% coming back again
I was so excited to tryout this restaurant up until I had a seat. It was midday, yet there was no one to greet us, or there to take our order. 10 minutes and three employees later, not a single, “Hello.” or “Are you being helped?” Terrible service. So we decided to go to Denny’s instead. I won’t be coming back to this establishment, this review isn’t to sway anyone’s opinion, for its my personal experience, perhaps the good is really great, but hey, we’ll never know.
Literally one of Tallahassee’s best restaurants. Tucked away. Beautiful setting. Quiet. Friendly staff. Everyone was smiling. Dim lighting. Perfect for a date or going out with friends. Menu changes every day or every week I believe so what you see in the pictures may not be on the menu when you go. Food is FRESH. Cooked AMAZING. Absolutely no complaints.
Their catfish is fresh, crispy and the best version I’ve ever had. The service is great too. I will certainly return for more!
Finally got to visit Food Glorious Food. I went for lunch on a weekday. I ordered the Chicago dog with a side of potatoe leek soup and my husband ordered the Salmon with Summer veggies. Both were absolutely delicious and the service we received excellent. Not sure what else to say! Id like to come back again in the evening one day.
Some of what we ordered was excellent and some average. The restaurant itself was hot and felt like a rent a hall and the service was not good. We wont go back...maybe to sit outside but def not inside.
I have been there at least 3 times this year alone. They have some of the best food in town. The brunch menu is a great option to get amazing portions at even better prices. The service was a bit slower than usual the last time I went, but the server was very kind and did not make us feel like we were rushed. 5 🌟s for sure.
Good service. Good food! Good time!
The lighting and acoustics are really bad. Maybe I was just unlucky and had the only take with a flickering light above it. Had the BLC, it doesnt list simple syrup but it DOES have simple syrup in it. Wasnt expecting that. The scallop picatta comes with homemade pasta that was actually very good, but the scallops were small and hard as rubber. The lemon butter sauce was also very wet, not creamy as it should have been. Wedge salad was just okay, bacon was cold. Claudia was a great server. 3/10 probably wont visit again. I would suggest Mimis Table for a better meal at a better price point.
Honestly food isnt the best pretty limited options but their desserts are why I go. Amazing cakes, cheesecakes, tarts, tortes, and just yes. They also make a really good cafě Cubano that I highly recommend. Warning if you get their latte for there it comes in a huge cup that makes it difficult to drink.
Dined outside and took the chocolate cake home. So good!
The food is always excellent, a little bit pricey, but thats okay.
This place was absolutely wonderful and the staff was so sweet. I started this review because I saw someone say the staff was horrible and they should have apologized because of a blackout they could not control. I will say that the service here was well maintained and there’s not much they could do if something is outside their control and if the person has such a problem with service, maybe they should not be going out in the middle of a pandemic and possibly consider that staff does not want to always be close to rude customers? Hmm. Anyways I loved the eggplant fries and the three cheese pasta and if I could befriend the staff there I absolutely would. I love those who serve. Thank you for all you do :-)
Food was very flavorful, but I was looking for a little more diversity in texture and size of entree for the price. Do not skip desert!!! Absolutely wonderful desert menu. Big portions with beautifully developed flavors 😍 Will totally be back🙌
I have been to FGF a few times to pick up dessert but had never dined here until tonight when my coworkers and I saw the horribly long line at 4 Rivers, so we decided to come here instead. I love their desserts and have always enjoyed when restaurants have a rotating menu so I was very excited to eat a full meal here.Everything on the menu looked great and we were seated immediately upon our arrival. There were several other tables in the restaurant besides ours but initially it didnt prove problematic. We ordered our food -- one of us got the gnocchi and soup, another got the bangers and mash and I opted for the peppered tuna. This is about where the pleasant experience ended. We waited for nearly an hour and a half for our food which is honestly unacceptable to me. Our waitress told us several times that our food would be ready in a few minutes, so imagine how irritated I was when a few minutes turned into 10 minutes, then 20 then half an hour. The manager came over to our table and apologized, BUT then made up an excuse for the horrible wait. We just are so busy tonight as you can see! Yes, I can see youre busy, but thats no excuse to make patrons wait forever for their food. Managers shouldnt make excuses like that. It was almost like she was blaming us for not realizing how busy it was. Our server reiterated the busy comment too which was doubly annoying. Everyone at my table was irritated. As far as the food went, it was actually pretty great. The flavors were perfect on my tuna and the blue cheese/mushroom mix was delicious.I was so perturbed by the manager and the service though that I would be incredibly hesitant to come back. The manager didnt even give us a discount or offer us free drinks or anything despite the fact that we were waiting for TWO hours for our food.I would give this place one more shot and then if the service is truly awful I will not hesitate for a second to dock this place down another star.Their desserts are amazing so maybe just come for that? The poor service and excuses for their setbacks is enough for me to not readily recommend this place to anyone.
Classy place decent food great customer service.
If I could rate place zero stars, I would. First, it took 30 minutes to get a basic bar drink. No apologies were given for the slow service when there was 3 tables total in the establishment. Then, the power went out in the restaurant where it was hot and steamy. Again, no apologies where given and service started to get rude. When asked about their weird “protocol for when the power went out” we were told to find the manager. After eating in complete darkened for over an hour nothing was comped on Bill and customer service was just rude in general. NEVER EAT HERE.
A great place for outdoor dining. Good food. Good service. The red velvet cake was lucious!
My fiancé and I traveled to Tallahassee, FL for a work function. Stopped at FGF for dinner and accidentally left our credit card there. After contacting FGF and being told they DID have the card and would mail it to us (we live in another state), 4 weeks have passed and no card in the mail. I called back after 3 weeks and was told the card was mailed and should be at my house soon. After 4th week, I called (no answer) FB messaged (won’t read the message) and emailed with no response. So, I have no idea whether they ever had it in the first place or if someone that works there just stole it and told us they mailed it or if they forgot to mail it and lied to me.It’s our fault for forgetting the card but after an entire month of trying to get it sent to us, we are never going to be back at this establishment and we hope others just take caution about forgetting their cards here. You’ll never see them again.
This was my first time eating jire though my friend remembered it fondly from a few years ago when she lived here. We shared grouper cheeks and fried quail, both small plates, a side of cheese grits and a ceasar salad. The food was excellent with soft lighting, traditional jazz soundtrack, and fine service. We saved room for dessert and got the brioche bread pudding. The dessert was good but we felt a real whiskey sauce would have been preferable to the glaze or icing on it. I recommend it and we will eat here again.
The food was amazing! The desert was yo die for.
High Prices & Poor Service! I walked out without having ordered anything for diner. Why? The food looks good! Certain foods/ingredients I will not eat and it seems they think you have to eat it their way or else. I requested for example to leave Goat Cheese out of my fruit (apple and pecan) salad and I didnt want blue cheese sauce on my fried sirloin steak. I was rudely told no additions or changes and that was it. I advise checking the menu before you get there knowing your stuck with it to the letter. Beter yet go somewhere that is interested in serving the customer.
The 4 of us shared 8 startets and 3 deserts. All delicious. Beauiful evening outside dining.
The food was great and the desserts were fantabulous!
Great food and great atmosphere. Highly suggest for casual dining or formal
FYI Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian Perspective: A charming place that strives for but fails to achieve glorious. Black bean cakes lack flavor and come across as flat. FGF team altered Mac and Cheese to vegetarian, this item obviously missing something, which made sense as the meat was missing. FGF Pasta was astonishing in its scarcity consisting mainly of pasta and olive oil with an occasional lonely tomato. The cakes and pies are good, but often too sweet and some not as fresh as could be expected.Desserts sampled so far include: Carrot (very good and but too sweet), Key Lime Pie (excellent), Pineapple Upside down cake (very good and but too sweet), Hummingbird (good quality but nonplussed about which way to go on this one).As a vegetarian would return for dessert items and breakfast. Dinner is not worth the price.
We went there for Sunday brunch, really great service, amazing food, and their Bloody Marys are absolutely out if this world fantastic. Definitely a to-do again
It was glorious! Love the location and experience. I wolfed down my salad and huevos rancheros. Definitely recommend
Usually has best variety of fresh food but have not visited since Covid began.
Very poor service!! Extremely long wait for our food. Placed drink order after about 30 minutes ask about our drinks. The server said that the bar was really backed up. Entire meal & service VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
The avocado toast wasn’t seasoned. Regret ordering that food item some of what my friends food looked good. So would give it a second chance.
Really interesting, exciting, and unique food and drink menu. We only went for dessert and a drink, but they were delightful. They had an apple cake that was phenomenal if you enjoy apple desserts. The atmosphere was simple and nice as well
Always top notch food and service here
Our waiter was the short guy with the man bun and he was not very pleasant and seemed bothered to be waiting our table. Wasn’t good about checking up on our table and making sure our water and coffee were filled. He only seemed to put on a good show when it came around to the tipping part of his service. To top it all off I didn’t get exact change back. My meal was $17.20 gave him a $20 ($2.80 is my change) and only received $2 back. The names of the food may be glorious but the taste is not. I will not be returning to this business.
I visited FGF specifically for the key lime pound cake & was not disappointed! Staff was great & helpful as well.
If youve not been to this place, youre missing out.
The food is always fresh, and interesting!
Absolutely fabulous!!! Outstanding food and service.
Ive been here numerous times the service from multiple staff members over the years is always impeccable. Their food is delicious and often times if theyre busy I promise you its worth the wait! I stopped for lunch today and it took about 20-30 minutes but to be fair I did not call ahead and I had at least 4 staff members/management check in on the status of my order while I was there. They were keeping me posted which was much appreciated. They are seating with social distance in mind and try to accomodate for large parties but I would call ahead to make sure the staff is preppared with arranged seating if you have a large party because certain bigger table or booth options are especially nice. Most items range at about $15+ but well worth it for quality and taste! Absolutely recommend checking them out and if you dont believe me take a look at the amazing amount of awards theyve received when you enter by the entrance, posted on the walls and displayed by the hostess stand.
This was my second time eating here, but it was rather delightful. A friend and I enjoyed small plates and dessert. We indulged in the fried oysters, fried shrimp, brie, and brussels. All delicious! Hummingbird and Mas Marble cakes. Also scrumptious 😊 Higher end prices but worth the price given the quality and amount of food provided. The restaurant was clean. Staff was on point - courteous and observant to expect our needs. It was a light crowd which is expectant considering everything happening. Still a very chill and relaxing ambiance.
Excellent as always. Both the food and service were great.
Bang bang shrimp sandwich great! Salmon great! Lamb hmm ok but over all, loved it! Friendly staff.
Nice dinner and great service...only thing I might add is with the mussiles you could serve some crusty bread with the broth. 😊
Over priced and small portions
Awesome food and service
Good food but well over priced compared to comparable restaurants
Good service and great food. Ill be back.
So, my friend and I made reservations online for Brunch on Sunday. They had no table for us and did not even bother to look up our reservation. They sat us at a large table when there were only 3 of us and then we waited forever for a server to come. Service was very slow. A soda cost $3.50, and yet you have to beg them to refill it. When they refilled the water there was no ice and we were sitting outside. The food was only okay, but in my opinion it was overpriced. My eggs were very under cooked and the french toast was in dire need of a flavor. The only thing that I think was excellent was the bacon. The bacon was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. This was my first time here and it will be my last.
I drive by this place all the time and today I decided to stop in for lunch and oh my god. SO GOOD! First of all the cashier was so lovely and asked if I had any dietary restrictions and was so helpful. The food is so fresh!!!! 10/10 WOULD COME again
We used to love this place, but the last couple times we tried getting the least spicy entrees our waiters recommended, and couldnt eat it. This place is probably great for people who crave hot foods instead of flavor.
Ok Food Glorious Food I might would like it if you had good food and kind staff. Here is the story, I went to this restaurant for a simple lunch but that was not what it was. The wait was 55 minutes just to get into the building. The table wait time was 30 minutes. The drink wait time was 15 minutes for a lukewarm sweet tea. The food wait time was 1.5 hours for a not all the way cooked gnocchi. The dessert wait time was 23 minutes for a hard as a rock key lime pie tart. Now that’s just about the food and the wait. Ok now the staff is a whole new problem. The staff was rude and even made me leave for saying I was going to make this review. If you were choosing Food Glorious Food or Wendy’s choose Wendy’s. This is not what Tallahassee’s restaurants should be like.
Enjoyed it very much!
Wasnt great, wasnt bad. The service outside was disorganized. Got our silverware after the meal was served.
My first time vising was last night for a dinner party. I can say the décor is beautiful and the service was good. The parking is horrible just to give you a heads up. I rate this restaurant a 2 because the food was really good however they are highly overpriced and they dont give you enough for what youre paying for. $32 for a piece of salmon was definitely not worth it. I will not return
We went for a Birthday celebration on a busy Friday night. The service was still very good and the food well prepared. We enjoyed glazed Salmon and crab cakes. Then finished the meal with Hummingbird cake.
What a fabulous niche! Tallahassee staple that has fantastic food and service for any occasion. Dress up for date night or filter in after a game for coffee and dessert, FGF is a must visit for local and visitors alike.
Great service, better food
Very good food.
This place is a hidden gem. It took us a couple of trips around the block to find it but it was well worth the hunt. The food was FABULOUS shrimp n grits, chicken n waffles, sausage n biscuits, ham&cheese backed in a fluffy puff pastry, fried crab sandwich...we tried it all.the mimosos & bloody Marys were out of this world.
We met for lunch and had leak soup and greek salad and enjoyed both of them. Our server was very good. I liked the environment and well definitely go back for another meal.
I had a great experience. The food was wonderful and the wait staff was great. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
Good lunch and service.
Loved it! Food was wonderful as always! Thank you!
Oh, boy. another real treat in Tallahassee. You do need to know it is there because its not very visible, but they do have their staunch regulars. They have new specials every day (Just when you thought you were sure what you wanted, great salads, great desserts and some extraordinary creative American fare in between. Even outdoor seating for those lovely spring days. A Tallahassee favorite.
The food & the service were both excellent. 5 stars there. My frustration (the reason for my 4 star rating) was that the web site menu is out of date. Prices were up to $3.00 higher than I expected. It made it difficult to order within the amount of cash I had with me.
Say at the downstairs bar. Took a bit to be waited on. Food was excellent though. Most atmosphere, but not horrible. If go back.
We go here for the desserts!
Ok I have eaten all over Tallahassee and THIS IS BY FAR the best food i have had here. The fried oysters are absolutely the best I have ever had ever. We had small plates and every dish that we had was superb...that does not happen ever...Do not pass this place by. I am so impressed, just wow.
I took my daughter and her friends here for her Sweet 16 brunch. The food was AMAZING!!!! We were a party of 11 and we did not have any problems whatsoever with our order. Everyone LOVED what they ate! From the Caesar salad, Chicken and waffles, fried Green tomato Benedict, biscuits & gravy, brioche french toast, and all the other things we had, I have to say we all agreed it was ridiculously good.We had Excellent Service, Jenna & Ryan made sure our every need was met. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Best Calamari I have ever had. I wish I lived nearby still so I could go more often and try more things. A friend got something else and it looked really good too. I would consider catering from there too.
Really wanted to love this place as I had heard great things. First off the food was good... esp the desserts. Biggest complaint was sitting around for over 20 mins and not being waited on... clearly they were understaffed. Waitstaff were helpful and attentive once we were waited on. Next complaint is the prices... just plain overpriced. Kids meals were $10 each and that didn’t include drinks or fruit, etc. $10 for butter noodles... seriously. This will be a go to spot for coffee and dessert. But unless they lower food prices or increase the “wow” factor we won’t be eating here very often.
Excellent service and good atmosphere. The food selection is top notch and has a custom menu. If youre looking for something different than the nameless cookie cutter restaurant, go here.
The customer service was poor.
