I absolutely love this place been coming here since the first day they opened in Hyde Park! One of my favorite things to order are the milkshakes, they are so thick and creamy and delicious!! I also love their pox burger, its very different but very good it was my first time ever having a burger that style and now its one of my favorite! They also have amazing banana pancakes that are the size of your head!! There pies are to die for!! Everytime I have family that come from out of town I always bring them here and it never disappoints!! Also love the fact you can get breakfast all day!!
My son recommended this place since he has fallen in love with a 12 inch pancake that they serve. Well to my surprise, I enjoy very much so. I had my take on chicken and waffles. I had French toast and waffles with a side of egg. It was good to the last drop. The son ordered a double patty vegan burger that didnt make it. So I will assume he enjoyed it. The daughter had cheese grits and fish. She said she didnt like the fish to much, but I thought it was good. She doesnt eat grouper that much so the taste was off for her. To finish is up I had a root beer float that made me happy. Overall I enjoyed myself.
Extremely long wait for a table, even longer wait for food. 2 1/2 hours for a meal w/ a 5 yr. old in tow. Burgers were small, dried out, dome shaped with remenants of cheese no longer present. Onion rings were cold. Save yourself the time and money. They have breakfast, shakes and pies which we did not try because we were dying to get out.
Such an experience! The Goody Goody Burger restaurant is designed/decorated like a 50’ diner complete with lunch counter. The service was very good and the restaurant was clean. We were greeted by the most polite young man who was very good at his host job and seated within ten minutes even during the busy lunch hour.We ordered the Goody Royale burger with cheese and the Roasted Turkey Club sandwich. Both were delicious! The club had a perfect balance of ingredients that brought out the flavors. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger which was cooked “just right”. He mentioned that the special sauce tastes less like barbecue and more like a marinara- tomato sauce. My only “complaint” was that the tomatoes and cucumbers on the salad did not seem fresh both lacking the firmness I expected and having a slightly sour taste that made me concerned for spoilage. I simply pulled them off and ate the rest… no digestive problems ensued so they must have been fine.My husband and his colleagues eat take out from here often and rave about it. This was my first time and I agree… it is very good.It is in the Hyde Park area and I visited during summer break so there were a great deal of teenagers dining with their friends. The room was very loud during the lunch hour making it extremely difficult to carry on a conversation without yelling across the table.Overall, a good meal. I will visit again after school resumes to reevaluate the ambiance but would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try something a little different.
Walked in and was greeted with a smile by the staff. They were very nice and we ended up sitting at the bar to order food and drink. The bartender was fantastic, attentive, and was on top of replacing our drinks before we could finish our last sips.Food was good and the onion ring sauce was so good that I decided to use that on my burger instead of the goody goody sauce and it was very tasty.
This place is great and super retro! I love the vibe inside. The food is really good and also comes out fast. I want to go back to try their other burgers! I definitely recommend this place, especially if you have children because it is fun and entertaining.Update: yet another great meal this past weekend! This time I tried the Original Goody Goody Burger Pox. I also had the onion rings again:) my friend got the bacon egg and cheese on an English muffin. Our server was so sweet!
My husband and I were enjoying a day of not wearing our masks so we went to Hyde Park because it is mainly outside and we had a great day. We came to goody goody to get a chocolate shake and slice of pie- Our server was friendly. This is a nice casual place in Hyde park to grab a burger or slice of pie nothing fancy but fun and it tastes good and the price is great!!!
This is my second time coming for breakfast and the food was very good. Nice atmosphere and plenty of parking in the back. We got there a little before 8 and it wasnt crowded. The issue I had was my servers inattentiveness. Desiree was all smiles and a sweet young lady but disappeared after we ordered. Tony brought the food out and I assumed Desiree would follow up. I had asked for my coffee to come out with my meal, and we had to flag Tony down because our server forgot. He was also kind enough to bring condiments. Many thanks to Tony for stepping up for us.
We had a wonderful server named Austin. He made this visit a pleasant time and gave us many different options to give us a great experience. They have wonderful sandwiches. My husband got a Ahi Ahi tuna sandwich and I got the grouper. Both of those were so delicious. They also make great hamburgers and desserts. If youre ever in the area try to get Austin. He will make your visit wonderful.
Fantastic first visit. We went on a Wednesday evening and sat outside, it was lovely. Husband had the Goody Goody cheeseburger and I had the Hyde park cheeseburger with onion rings. You will either love or hate the house sauce. We had banana cream pie for dessert. Everything hit the spot! Our server Tallulah was amazing and so was the manager Autumn. We will be coming back for sure!
Service was good. The burgers were good, except I wasnt a fan of the buns. They were a little too soft for my taste and became easily soggy. The fries were good, but I thought they were overly salted. We had the butterscotch pie, which was amazing, and I was impressed by the fruit that came with my childs kids meal.
So, I was watching good burger and got a crazy craving for burger and I thought what better time to try goody goody. When I tell you I am impressed! The burgers were soooooo good and so satisfying!! They burger was cooked to perfection and pressed to the perfect size. This was truly and great first experience and I will definitely be back!!
I enjoyed my burger and dessert here. I got the ROYALE w/ CHEESE burger it wasn’t too heavy on flavor nor was the meat packy. For dessert I got a gingerbread slice which was really nice warm. This place was really cute inside has really nice 60-70s or Greece (the movie) vibes. They have a inside bar, outdoor patio, and if you wanted to get it to go you can order at the window.
Service and food were great! We will def. be back! Cant wait to try breakfast! 🍳
It is funny, when I was a kid, I hated eating at the old location. The thing is, I always got my burger plain, as a result, they tasted dry. However, I loved the pies. Now, I love the burgers and other things! The pancakes are super good. The one bad thing, the pies are not that good, maybe just bad luck on my part, the two I have eaten, the meringue has been very dark to the point of being burnt.I will just skip desert in the future.
Would have been perfect if not for the wait for a table. 45 minutes became 60 then became 120. Once seated, the server was wonderful... Didnt need to wait for anything! Food was, per usual, AWESOME!
Last went when they had the location on Florida Ave back in High School. I graduated in 1992. I hadnt decended the stairs of the Hyde Park Garage in twenty-nine years. It was an epicurean blast from the past. Just fantastic!
Great service. Great food. Gluten free pancake option. Very Goody.
The food here is awesome, including their brunch. This was one of our go-to places to occasionally eat during the pandemic since they have a pickup window outside. Lots of outdoor seating, as well as more outdoor seating in and around Hyde Park Village.
Just had breakfast at the airport location. We had to lone up behind the other people throwing their breakfast in the trash can. Terrible food and even worse service. No wonder you don’t have any contact information on any of your websites. You should consider giving your Cuban opportunity to let you know how your business is being run. Sorry to be so blunt but when you pay airport prices of $30 for 2 simple breakfasts and they’re not edible, well I had to say something.
Mama D or Mama Dawn was so sweet and amazing. Loved her personality and how she literally made me feel like home. She went over the best things on the menu and made sure all our questions were answered. I’ve been to goody goody a few times and the other times I’ve been were okay experiences but with mama D I felt like that was top notch service and the best experience I have had at goody goody. Food was great wish the side of French fries was a little more but probs was a good thing the side of fries was a small portion cause lord knows I didn’t need to eat more fries. Strawberry milkshake was fabulous.
Awesome menu, great decor. Food and service top notch. Ill be back 👍Tampa native proud to enjoy tradition!
Clean place and good ambiance; however, service was lacking. Had to flag down a manager to see if anyone was going to come and greet us/take our order...this was after waiting about 10 minutes. Food was subpar...seemed as if some food items were “sandbagged” in order to get food out quicker. To wrap things up, the server (or the POS system) kept charging us for a side that was supposed to be included with the meal. Heard good things about this place and the prices were definitely affordable so we will give it another shot down the road
Cute little lunch spot. Brandi was an excellent server. She was very attentive and super sweet. Would totally go back.
The burgers were delicious and the fries were perfect. It was my first time going to goody goody burger and I can say Ill definitely visit again in the future.
My friend said it was the best hamburger he ever had! Im so happy! Their home made French dressing is amazing. Big shout out to Goody Goody! Thank you for feeding us so well.
Been here many times and I’m always greeted with a smile and the food is made fresh and always tastes great. Glad to see a local brand from the past given new life by the Gonzmart family and doing well.
It was fun to visit the old timey place but we ordered the Patty melts and the burgers were so dry I only ate half a sandwich. Coffee was excellent but it didnt make up for the Patty melts.
We found this little diner while staying in Tampa. I have to say I can’t remember when I’ve had a better fried chicken, biscuit and gravy breakfast. It was so delicious. Our server was wonderful, very nice and Easter to help us. The restaurant has a pretty cool ambiance as well which is also very clean!Goody Goody also has a big history in the Tampa area. I’m glad that that someone found it’s history worth while and brought it back.
The waiter was very nice, but the food was ordinary. Their famous butterscotch pie was not very good. There is no one to let you know when your table is ready, even though they take names and numbers. I wont waste time and money again..
I hadnt had the chance to go back to Goody Goody for a couple of months (unfortunately) but I did today. I had the Royal Burger with cheese and onion rings. Thats the one thats topped with bacon, egg, mushrooms, cheese, and all things delicious. Although I didnt get one the white chocolate pumpkin bread looked amazing! I also had the excellent handbreaded onion rings with Goody Goody sauce - Kirk at the counter is always top-notch and appreciate his continual friendliness. I always enjoy this diner style which is certainly a recreation of a throwback time in dining. Worth the trip if you find yourself in Hyde Park/South Tampa.
Great breakfast spot! Try the sweet potato pancake! But be sure to share it with someone!
Long wait to the table....ok, but took over 30 minutes to get our food once we ordered. Two tables (one was a party of 6) the other a party of 3, all got their orders and were about to leave before we (a party of 2) got our food. Although the food was good and our waiter was very nice, it was pricey for burgers and fries.
Very nice people I went on a very crowded day that was the arts fair was going on and me and my girlfriend still got into seats and got very good service despite how busy it was and the people are great the people were simply just very good people
This was a great place to sit, relax and have some lunch. They serve breakfast all day also. But my fries tasted fresh like real freshly cut potatoes, not the frozen kind. I ordered the patty melt and it was delicious! The burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. They have a bar if you drink
We were in town for a work conference. Stopped in on a Thursday, late morning. The place was super busy! It was a 15 minute wait for our booth, but totally worth it. The espresso was fantastic. I ordered The Hangover, and finished the whole thing! I can only imagine how busy this place must be on the weekend. Our server Leo did a great job of managing his tables. Next time we are in town we will definitely make sure to stop by again!
We had the standard POX burger, the veggie burger and the grouper sandwich. All were good, prompt service for a busy diner. Recently renovated to its classic Tampa roots, beautiful design, prices reasonable. Had a coppertail beer, and the pie was very good, everyone happy. This is one of my wifes favorite places, she grew up nearby and used to eat there with her family.
Love this place! It was our second time. 2pm on a Tuesday and we still had to wait for a table. I had the giant pancake again because its that good.
Very generous uniformed member discount.-- Thank you so much..-- I go out of my way to shop and eat at establishments who appreciate military and first responders.First time visit on Saturday 22 June around 4PM. Two adults and one kidWe ordered the club Royale minus tomatoes and mushrooms, and with egg fried instead of dippy. And a side of fries. The fries were a bit saltier than Id like but wasnt bad. Also open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. The turkey was amazing and like Thanksgiving. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing too. With a side of onion rings that were so amazing and made to order they had a little bit of a kick with pepper perhaps but were so yummy. The wait staff was the friendliest Ive seen in a very long while...and Im a world traveler so that means a lot.I would come back again..
Wonderful service and wonderful food!Rauri was so kind and welcoming, both on the phone and in person. Tony was so patient, attentive, and professional in his service, and Austin was so sweet and jovial. We will definitely be coming again!P.S. To Austin: “when we come back we’ll take the whole kitchen… 😉😂😂🤣🤣”
My second time eating Goody Goody and honestly, I dont get it. The onion rings and fries were far from crispy, the special sauce tastes too much like marinara for me (although I think it might be yummy as a pizza sauce) and the burger overall was meh. The actual beef patty was tasty, but not enough to make me give them another try. That said, everyone there was kind and other patrons were enjoying themselves so its probably the kind of place youll need to go try for yourself.
The chicken at Goody Goody was cooked perfectly; flavorful and crispy! For the price the plate sizes were right on. I left feeling full, but not stuffed which is great. The French fries were crispy and fresh and the cole slaw was on point. We sat at the bar area, so the atmosphere was like a fast pace diner and had extremely friendly staff! Comfy inside seating, with an outdoor patio as well (welcomes dogs). Will definitely be back and recommend!!
I was told this was a diner so I wasnt sure what to expect. We went on a Saturday around 5:30 pm and chose to sit outside so there was no wait; we were seated immediately. I love breakfast foods so I ordered the Kitchen Sink omelet - it was delicious! I also got the home fries which were nicely seasoned and had a wonderful crunch to it. The banana pancakes are yummy! It is topped with a bananas foster syrup. The burgers were tasty. The loaded fries are also good. I would definitely go back.
Food and atmosphere are a solid five stars, but service was three star. Kitchen entirely messed up my order. Service was also very slow. Highly recommend the breakfast!
This place is amazing! I had been wanting to try it for forever before finally making it by there today and WOW! Don’t wait to try this place out! The food is delicious and the service was even better. All of the items on the menu were affordable and they had a great menu! The chicken sandwich I had was DELICIOUS!!! I also tried one of the homemade chocolate milkshakes and I don’t know how to explain through a sentence how good it was haha! So needless to say make sure you check this place out ASAP!
Visiting the area and decided to try this restaurant for breakfast. Our experience was horrible. We waited 45 mins for our food and STILL missing the main attraction…their famous 12-inch pancakes. Food tasted old and lukewarm. We didn’t eat any, left and went to old faithful Chick-fil-A. By the time we talked to a manager…the missing pancake still hadn’t made it to the table.
Sasha is the best, always love to visit because of her! Food is good too!
Goody goody is the rebirth of an old Tampa burger joint that shares the same name. It combines the nostalgia of an old Tampa burger diner with a modern twist. Nestled in Hyde Park Village, its a fun family friendly stop for a but to eat. Try any of their freaky made pies, theyre delicious! Overall, its a good experience in a fun atmosphere that plays on nostalgia.
Good food, nice people. Sort of a diner kind of restraunt. Busy, but didnt take long. I would go back.
I love the history behind this place... they have a really really cool menu that tells the story of goody goody burgers... the food here is definitely good especially after catching a movie or going shopping... the price is also right... I gave you the three star rating because when it came time to take a few pictures I was asked not to which to me seems odd given that we live in a social media friendly world... I would like to think that this was a one-off because I had a really good experience the very first time I went
I have found the best French toast—and it is here at Goody Goody! It’s called OMG French Toast and that name fits it perfectly. Also their syrup was such a caramel-y goodness I could have drank it all on its own! I wish I took a picture to post, but it was just too good. I wasn’t even that hungry when I came in but it was truly amazing! I know that I’ll be dreaming of this French toast for awhile!!!
I live in the neighborhood and absolutely love their food. Just wish the service was better. I dont think Ive ever had a single takeout that wasnt wrong. They already forgot my sides, my cheese on the sandwich and even the burger once 😳. Plus, I wish they could write in the packaging when its an impossible burger and when its not. Since they change the veggie burger to impossible, its IMPOSSIBLE to figure out which one is mine and which is my husbands (Im vegetarian and hes not!).
It is busy so make reservations ahead of time. With that in mind the food was delicious. Well worth the wait. Had a fried chicken burger with slaw and it is what you imagine what fried chicken should taste like in those burger commercials. Phenomenal. Special shout out to the great coffee from naviera coffee that is served there. The food was excellent and would definitely go back again!
Great food, and great service. Had lunch with the the wife and kids two days ago, and it was just perfect. The Service; Our server, Captain Kirk, yes you read right, was spot-on professional and courteous. The Food; The Po-Boy sandwich was delicious. The Southern Chicken tenders with the huge serving of mashed potatoes is to die for. Desert; all Im saying is you have to try the Pies. By the way, if youre into cars, you will get your fill as well. You have to try Goody, Goody Burgers.
Great food. My friend who took me really liked it. Maiter D needs to get rid of the dirty looking dreadlocks.
Service was wonderful but the chicken Breading was very Salty...
Share reviewEmbed reviewComplimentSend messageFollow Caridad S.8/18/20194 photosI have to say that I was a little skeptical about eating here because of some of the bad reviews. I only agreed to it because my husband and daughter have been wanting to try it. HOWEVER, I am so glad that we did try it.The menu was big but our waitress, Laura, was really good at making suggestions. My daughter and I ordered the Southern Fried chicken dinners but she got onion rings with hers and I got fries with mine (instead of the mashed potatoes). My husband ordered breakfast and a kid size pancake on the side.Everything was delicious! The chicken was tasty and crunchy! My daughter said the onion rings were good. My husbands food was good with the exception of the bacon which tasted as if it had been sitting in grease. The kids size pancake was HUGE (all three of use ate from it) but the maple syrup! OMG!!! They make it in house and lets just say that Id put that ish on EVERYTHING! LOL It is SO GOOD!The prices were reasonable. We paid $54 (before tip) for three people (entrees and fountain drinks)We will definitely be back!
Had my first eating experience at the new Goody Goody on Monday (6/14).Must mention that I was a regular customer at the original location on Florida Avenue (1950-62). My favorite order was the POX Hamburger, fries, a Coke & a piece of that to die for Chocolate pie. I considered the Goody Goody my go to favorite place for a burger & Chocolate pie. After my last Monday Goody Goody visit, on a scale of 1-10, I rate the Original POX Hamburger a 9 but I have to give the piece of Chocolate pie a 4. Whatever happened to the nice rich & dark Chocolate & the so tasty meringue topping?Champ ChampionBrentwood, Tennesse
Way overpriced for what it is and small portions. Spent $57 for 2 burgers, a sandwich and a salad. Ahi tuna sandwich had only a few small slices of tuna. Nice staff though.
I really enjoyed the cafe con leche & cuban toast.
This place is absolutely amazing!! We come here at least once a month. The food is good, the service is awesome, and the atmosphere is great!! I cant say enough good things about the manager Jeremiah!! We love it!
Had a GREAT Breakfast. They have restored the true diner experience. Reasonable priced, good value. Had the Tampa omelet with home fries and Cuba toast. Got there for brunch time on a Thursday but place was filling up when we left for lunch. The place is well staffed and very friendly. I must visit Breakfast place when in Tampa.
Mama Dawn took excellent care of us. Great food. Exceptional service! We will be back
Went for breakfast with my partner and found our new favorite place to eat in Tampa. The coffee was great: the black coffee is nice and strong but if you aren’t into that, the cafe con leche is a perfect medium. My partner had the kitchen sink omelet and I had the hangover. Quality of the food was amazing but the best part was the service. Our server, Desiree R, was so attentive and friendly and made our day. We will definitely be coming back here.
Great food just like the old days. Yum great staff
The food was great. Large portions and delicious. The main reason to return, however, is the service. Our server Austin was one of (if not the) best servers Ive had. At any restaurant. Thank you, will definitely frequent again.
Great service and and I loved my POX😃
Traveling in and out of airports is never easy but Goody Goody helped me feel a little bit better. Separate from their original store in Tampa, they have a pop-up store in Terminal C of Tampa International Airport. My sisters and I were walking around the stores that offered food and Goody Goody caught our eye. They are a Tampa original and you can tell when you see the store, its authentic to Tampa.Since were talking about being all authentic, we decided to Original Goody Goody Cheeseburger POX. Yeah, try saying that in one breath to the employee there. So, whats POX?POX= Pickles, Onions and Special SauceOh yes, theres a special sauce floating above the cheese gracefully holding the diced onions. Its essentially a glorified tomato sauce...meh. It wouldnt have been my go-to sauce, but Im happy there was some sort of condiment inside the burger. The pickles and onions give it a nice crunch. The patty was nice and juicy...perfect before you jump on an airplane.
Other than the higher quality of meat served here, I could’ve bought the same meal from a fast food chain with equal satisfaction and better service. You’re paying for the retro vibe here. To each their own I suppose. I just don’t prefer waiting 12 minutes upon being seated with no service.Updated to 2 stars after reviewing menu options. If I go back, I’ll have to order something else than the Signature Goody Goody Burger. Hopefully the service will be better.
This place is great. My family went here for breakfast and the food was very good. Also, the service from Rauri, Tony, and Austin was excellent.
I stopped in here for breakfast. This is a very open dining establishment with outside dining (under cover) and misters and inside dining with air conditioning. Goody Goody is a resurrection of the original Goody Goody that closed down years ago. I had a late breakfast here, and it was reasonably priced and delicious. Good Goody is located across the street from Hyde Park Village, a toney neighborhood next to downtown Tampa.
Great service. Super cute atmosphere. Good breakfast.
The atmosphere and service were great. Our burgers were uninspiring. Id go back and try something else.
This place is great!! Went with a small group of people and only had a 15 min wait. The staff was awesome! Dawn-marie mama dawn was a load of fun and our server (i think her name was Marcy.. Pretty blue eyes) was VERY attentive and super friendly! The food was great... The atmosphere was great... And i loved the 60s vibe! Well deff be back with more people.
