This place has the best meat in town. It is trimmed well so you are not paying for a lot of fat, and the butcher does special cuts by request. Hes excellent.The produce section needs improvement in selection and prices.The chili roaster is the best around.The prices are not as cheap as the name suggests, but the service and friendly staff are worth paying a little more. I dislike the recent installation of the automated check outs, but so far, a staff member has been there to do it for me. If that changes, I will shop elsewhere.

Took my mom shopping here today and was shocked at the high prices. Halfway through shopping I was getting so frustrated at all the overpriced items that I stopped and told my mom I wouldn’t feel right if I let her spend her money for these overpriced items. We put everything back and went to Smiths. We got the same items and saved about 60%. My mom couldn’t believe it because she only shopped at Super Save. Well, use to. She said she will no longer be a customer there.

Supersave ? Its the most overpriced grocery store in town considering their low quality food. They charge twice as much as any other store in town! Produce like fruit is always either overripe and bruised or extremely underripe. The produce Ive gotten here tastes very odd. The outside of food containers and bags are always dirty and weirdly sticky. Online hours are not accurate. Very rude cashiers. Sorry, Ive never had a good experience shopping here and will not return.

I was able to find affordable and great quality brand food.

I popped in here while my car was getting an oil change at the shop next door. The place smelled weird. Everything I looked at (cheese, eggs, produce, tortillas) was substantially more expensive than at Smiths down the street. There is a wide selection of Mexican candy and snacks here, and they had both Impossible burger and links in the freezer section and precooked rotisserie chickens available.

I Like Going To Super Save Once In Awhile Because They Really Are More of A Family Owned Grocery Store Than the Other Two Large Grocery Stores That are part of well known National Chains.I Like that at Super Save You Can Find Many Food Items that The Bigger Stores dont carry for some reason. These Include what I Consider to be A Better Quality of Bakery Fare, Including Donuts, Cakes, Danishes, Cinnamon Rolls And Even Decent Cheese Cake by the Slice. Super Save is Part of A Nationally Known Grocery Cooperative And This Both Enables them to Offer Comparable Prices on many can goods, cereal brands, milk, and most other typical grocery items.Another reason I like going to Super Save and its kind of what They Are Known For, is They Definitely Have Lower Prices on their fresh meats, such as pork chops, hamburger meat, steak, bacon and lamb, among other selections. The Russell Family, who are the original owners and the founders of the small regional Northeast New Mexico grocery chain, owned a large cattle ranch in Northeastern New Mexico where they would raise cattle, sheep, pigs/ hogs and perhaps other farm animals and so it became a tradition at their SuperSave stores that They Could offer their Customers a Lower Price for their meats that came fresh from Their Ranch and Personally, I Do think they have a Better meat section, with Fresher and Less expensive meats, than the two national chains Grocery stores in Taos. Another thing Super Save stands out for is their Produce Department, where they carry anything and possibly more than the bigger stores and the produce is always very well displayed, their produce workers spray with water to keep the produce fresh and their prices are great. One last thing, Super Save Has A Nice Deli where the workers make many different hot food items daily, from rolled burritos to big deli sandwiches to fresh made potato and macaroni salads to rotisserie chickens. Its A Very Nice Grocery Store, they Keep the store Clean and they have a Friendly staff, So Check It Out When Your In Taos!!!

Well priced groceries

Great deli and meat department with good prices. Produce prices are not always better than other grocery stores. They do have many items used in Mexican food that are difficult to find elsewhere. They have a nice section of gluten free foods and an abundance of products from Mexico. Always friendly staff. New ownership has added a beer and wine section.

When I go into Super Save its a very warm and inviting atmosphere, the employees are kind and helpful. I go into the store at least 2-3 times a week and the cashiers are the friendliest people and its nice to be on a first name basis. The prices are reasonable and their meat selection is the best in town. The store is great and I will always keep going back!

I love this store. The prices are not any higher than any of the other grocery stores. You can pretty much get a good deal at any grocery store you just have to shop around. I love that they have carpet it makes the store one of a kind. Everyone is super friendly and customer service is spot on.

I would like to add my comment. I am from Colorado and we visit new Mexico quite often. We always stop by this store because of the good service we have gotten in the past. But on August 5th 2018 we stopped by to buy our green chili and our tortillas like we have for years. I decided to buy some lottery tickets that you have in front of the store. I kept winning and had to keep taking my tickets to customer service, I could tell the lady behind the counter was getting very agitated just by her voice and actions, so rather than keep agitating her I informed her that I would take my money and run. She replied with a comment that was totally unprofessional, she said good because this is not a casino. I had to think about what she said, so I made a comment back to her,well maybe you shouldnt sell lottery tickets here if your going to act like this. I did ask the lady behind the counter twice for her name, here again very unprofessional she did not disclose her name. I walked back to my car and this was bothering me, so I went back inside to talk to the store manager, his name was Leo.I informed him what had just happened and he was very apologetic. So with this being said please dont let one bad apple ruin the rest of the good crop you have . thanks for your time and hope you do the right thing. Matt J from Colorado.

I always find a few good deals when I shop here, but overall, the prices are not much cheaper than Albertson’s or Smith’s. Not worth the extra stop to me. They do have lots of different brands and items you can’t find elsewhere in town. The meat section scares me, though, and the employees are always less friendly to me compared to other customers. I returned a jar of ghee recently because the lid leaked before I even got it home, and the woman at the customer service desk seemed irritated that I didn’t want to keep a $10 item with faulty packaging. Honestly, I don’t ever feel welcome at this place and always get glares from the employees. I’ll go back if I’m looking for something specific, but I don’t plan to shop here on a regular basis.

Super Save is not an appropriate name for this store. Yes, there are some store brand items that are very reasonably priced but other than those pull you in prices, you should be prepared to spend a pretty penny. My husband and I started shopping at Smiths and have saved a ton! The upside: the employees are very friendly.

I lived in California for a long time, and became used to a wide variety of different kinds of grocery stores. This place looks like a discount store-- however that is deceiving. While I dont always get produce here, it has a natural food section, and one of the best cheese sections on the far side of the story that I have seen in New Mexico. I have purchase things here that I havent found anywhere else, excellent ghee for example. They have a good liquor section that boasts reasonable prices.

Very clean, orderly, and spacious. Some offal is available, as well as pork and beef bones. Produce can be a little bit or miss. Smooth check out hosted by actual humans!

I love super save/Lowes but didnt like that today my daughter n I were shopping and one young male worker was stalking us. Everywhere we would go he was following, very uncomfortable. But other than that everything else is great especially thier rotisserie chicken.

Went bought chile 18 boxs. Store district managers were there and they were great Mike Produce manager was awesome. They 2 young men roasting were awesome also. Thank you guys.

Its like Food King Cost Plus in Santa Fe but this is an Taos and its called Super Save You know what they have that the other store doesnt have but Im absolutely in love with and well be stopping there every time that I go through Taos chocolate-covered marzipan I must have more

Went in today. As we paid I asked about chile bags outside and the unfriendly cashier says that is not chile. She stared me down and also my family. I paid with 100 dollar bill and she pretty much just threw the change at me. She is named Prugie or something like that but you will see her as the older, overweight ugly woman with an uglier attitude. I called the manager and he instructed me to write about it here. We are from Texas and honestly will not return. That store is not worth the rude employees. She is cashier 99 and I was in lane 2 in case you want to go in and check her out. Its not worth your time though.

This store has gotten so expensive! And the cashiers are hit or miss! Especially, the one I went with today! She never greets anyone and she was complaining she was tired! So stay home and give someone else the opportunity to work!

Has lots of items you cant get other places in town like fresh tortillas, cactus pads, etc. Produce tends to be better than other stores in town and cheaper. Store is getting upgraded with new freezers and equipment
