Very good at what they do. Easy people to work with. They can take care of almost any issue you may have. They finish every job quickly and correctly. They want every boat in on Monday and out on Friday if at all possible.

I just purchased a new boat about a week before I brought it to Pitmans. We had a pretty large punch list of items we wanted addressed. They had 4.5 days and got almost all of it completed. There were some things I thought would need to be replaced they were able to address and repair which saved me a lot more money.I expected to have the bottom paint done. They advised me the bottom paint was still in good shape and could wait another year. Another big savings.I will go back for my service next year or if i need anything else requiring a haul out.They also recommended a few mobile mechanics that would travel to my location for some if the work they were unable to get to.I found everyone there to be friendly and courteous.JD Donovan

Do not take your boat here. Dave is the worse person to deal with. He is rude and unprofessional. They destroyed my boat. It went in for new props and propellers. They marked up the price and storage was through the roof. Things were pulled apart on my boat and parts missing when I got it back. I asked for my old props back and noticed that Pitman had written on the props to “bid high” when they were sent out for a quote. They allowed the boat to get destroyed during a storm while in their care. While I was fighting with them about cost they tried to illegally auction off my boat for sale twice. I found out after from people that this is a regular practice of this yard to try to auction off your boat if you don’t pay them what they demand. After finally getting the boat back home after only three months the new props were destroyed because of electrolysis. They never put any zinc plates on bottom to protect the props from this occurring. They painted over all the equipment on the bottom of the boat when you are not suppose to do that. I had brackets missing off the engine room. The dash was pulled apart and missing screws when there was no reason for them to touch this at all. They are a joke there. The worse workmanship ever. DO NOT USE THEM.

Great crew and management!I bought a 36 ft Prokat from Miami and had it delivered to Pittman’s. The driver showed up 15 minutes before they closed and they never complained about it being delivered late. They jumped right on it and unloaded it, did the full service on both motors the next day and had it in the water for me to pick it up.When I arrived, Dave and Davey helped me get familiar with the boat before I took off. Great guys, I very much appreciated the professionalism!Thanks guys!!! I’ll be back

They got our boat in the sling and up on stands in about fifteen minutes from start to finish. They even recommended the best gyro places near the spongedocks and them the manager drove us over there so we could have gyros and catch an uber. These guys know what theyre doing AND they are honest. Ive found one of those qualities at many boat yards but almost never both. If you want something done to your boat, the right way, give Pitman a call.

What a great bunch of guys, fast, courteous, great job all around. Did a super job on both my 36 Searay, and my little 13 Boston Whaler I trailered up. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat, and I have had my boat 17 years, and this was the best hauling and bottom paint experience ever. Everyone at my marina in Clearwater uses Pitman for the same reasons. The detail and fiberglass work they had done was terrific too!

Somewhere around 3:50 PM ish Today 3-19-20 My family and I was driving behind their company car in Ozona today and they where going 40 MPH in a 25 MPH Zone. On Top Of that he was blowing through every single stop sign in site then rushed to park in front of molly goodheads bar and restaurant. What’s the hurry, perhaps a cold beer?? Pitman yacht service is a very honest and reputable place for all of your boat fixing needs. We got a bottom job a lot of work done on the engine. the deck was extremely clean no visual signs of repair work that was done. Came back cleaner than it went in. The mechanic was very knowledgeable and all of the office people were very personable definitely bring our boat here again.

I bought a 33 Sundancer in Dunedin Fl and on the advice of a local marina I had the boat lifted out at Pitmans. I spoke with David and arranged a bottom job, new boot stripes, a full buff and wax and winterization as the boat was going to Canada. The work, in all respects, was fantastic. The boat shines like new, the bottom is perfect. In addition, they cleaned the upholstery, replaced the impeller in the genny and fixed the power hatch. My trucker arrived and spoke highly of Pitmans professionalism. I only spoke to David by phone, authorising all of the work based on their reputation. Im more than pleased. David was very nice and polite, I took my boat to get bottom paint done and was not really satisfied, something went wrong however After I got in touch with David, the boat was brought back, hauled and repainted . Yard had a full time employee to help on dropping and picking up the boat.thanks. Im happy wit the way it was handled and the final result.

Pitmans has always done a great job for me. I was missing a strainer on my intake and David said he thought he had one laying around another boat removed. Well he did and it was the right size. They did not even charge me for it. I will continue to use them for years to come.

Terrible experiance. After you pay and outrageous amount of money, they tell you to take your messed up boat somewhere else, we cant fix boats. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone for anything. Absolutely horrible customer service and terrible service. Theyll rip you off badly, beware. (Edit) Yes. It was Pitman Yacht Services that we took our bost to. It was a family member of mine who owns and paid for it. Over $5000 in work to do absolutely nothing except tell us to take our boat somewhere else, because you dont have quality mechanics. If it isnt paint, stay far away from these people. They only want your money then tell you to get off their property. Pitman Yacht Services, what a joke of a company.

If hauling out This is the place to go. They can handle small to very large boats. Dave and his crew give great service.

I came to Pitman by way of another specialist who was unable to handle my transom repair. In short, Pitman was good to me. They took in my 23 Seacraft, and redid the entire Transom and a few other small items. The work outcome was great. There was even 2 drain holes we all missed. I brought the boat back and they quickly put those in as well. I highly recommend them. They have a great yard, perform a lot of work and in short order.

This is the second time I have used the services of Pitmans in Tarpon Springs, and both times I have been totally 100% pleased with the attention to detail, quality of workmanship, everything from the bottom job, boot stripe, buffed out oxidized hull, aluminum tower, etc. etc. etc. never looked better for a 16 yr. old boat. NEW BOAT LOOK ! You get what you pay for here ! Ive been a licensed full-time charter fishing guide for over 22 yrs. out of this area, my boats are used year round 5 stars from me !

They got the boat done sure enough. However, the place is pretty run down, they dont have a dock (you have to pull right into the travel lift), they dont have fuel or water or beer or ice (you have to run down the river and dock again). I can only say its a dump relatively speaking. I guess Im sorta biased to the boat yards on the east coast that are much larger, cleaner, better kept up and have far more services.As to the reply I received. Boats are owned lots of different ways chief. Just because my name wasnt on the bill doesnt mean I havent been a customer. As to your remarks - I would encourage those that take the time to read this to read some of the other less than flattering reviews here. As to your completely subjective assertation that you own the best yard on the west coast - thats just silly talk. I can objectively say that your yard is nowhere near the best one Ive been in on this coast or any other coast for that matter. Lastly - if thats what you call a dock - keep it. My one star review stands and feel blessed that i can’t give you zero.If you’re reading this review and you want great service at a great price in a modern clean yard with plenty of dock space go down the street to Mar Marine. It’s about 100 times better in every way than Pittmans.

I had my boat and outdrive painted at Pitman Yacht Services, picking it up on a Saturday. When I got about a mile away from the dock I noticed my bilge pump kicking on. I went straight to my boat lift and pulled the boat out of the water. The following Monday I called and spoke with Dave, who assured me that he had inspected my bellows prior to starting work and found them to be in excellent shape (they had been replaced about a year earlier). Dave said that there would be no reason that he would know of that a leak could have been caused at their yard. I called my marine mechanic (a very reputable shop) and was told that unfortunately they were very backed up and could not receive the boat for inspection for weeks. When they finally had an opening I lowered my boat and took it straight there (It had not been in the water since returning from the bottom job). Upon inspection a tear was found in the shift cable bellows, running perpendicular to the ridges. They indicated that it could have possibly been caused by scraping or pressure washing the outdrive before painting. I had the bellows replaced, notified Pitman and sent them a copy of the repair invoice. Although they agreed to review it and get back to me, I have not been able to get them to respond further to phone calls or emails, nor have they contacted my marine mechanic to discuss. I cannot recommend Pitman Yacht Services.

I really wasnt thrilled with their work compared to the amount of money that they charged although they got it done very quickly thats what it was a quick job
