I wish there was a negative rating for customer service. I set up an appointment to have Suddenlink installed and the technician never showed, never called. When I called the customer service line, I was given 3 different excuses and told they would have to reschedule. I asked what guarantee would I have that the technician would show up next time, and got no response. I told them I would do a self install and forego the inevitable disappointment. I was told that I would have to go to the store to pick up the needed equipment, which was no big deal. Upon arrival the person at the desk was polite and offered to reschedule the install, but I politely declined since they failed to show already. She informed us that doing the self install usually works, but in the event they need to send a tech to complete the job, they will charge us AN ADDITIONAL $60.00.So for them to miss an appointment and not do as the promised, in the event they have to come out to do what was already agreed upon would cost me an additional $60.00. Any company that starts a customer relationship in this manner needs to rethink their business position, or the competition will slaughter you.

If I could give the a zero I would. Had a tech come to my house after my TiVo box failed. I was next door and my son answered the door. He is 17 and the guy just left without a simple courtesy call. I found the tech down the street and I pleaded with him nicely to come back. Asked nicely and said please multiple times. “I just closed out the tag”. I asked him why he didn’t call, that I was literally 20 seconds away and he just stared at me…. Now I need to wait five more days for service. This was after the tech support told me to take my box to the local store to be swapped out, only to be told when I got there that there are no self installs. Incredibly frustrating. These guys need to seriously get their act together. The poor support gals on the phones must just take a beating.

They are the poorest cable company we have ever dealt with. Our box was defective according to the tech who checked at his end. He said exchange it at the store. But the store has NO BOXES! They said a tech would bring one out in two days. Tech came, agreed we needed a new box, but did not have one. Got a bill for $60 the next day—still no new box, and THEIR equipment was the problem😡 Their solution—keep checking at the store—there is no direct number to the store. This is what happens when there is NO CHOICE! Truckee should be ashamed of this!!

I recently had new internet service installed. The install itself was great, no issues. The technician showed up when promised and did a great job. However: as far as Suddenlink as a company goes, Im not impressed. First, the pricing on the website is deceptive. I signed up for internet service for $55/mo. I read the fine print and nowhere does it mention that the price is a one year introductory price. I found out later that the actual regular price is much higher, and the bill is so confounding that I dont know that that price will be.Second, I paid for the premium installation which included WiFi configuration for up to 6 devices. The technician didnt have that on his work order, so he did a basic install that didnt include the WiFi configuration. I ended up doing it myself. To his credit, he offered to come back to the house after hours and configure it if I got stuck.Third, the promised speed was 400 Mbps. The technician was only able to get 220 Mbps. To be fair, there could be some issues with the way the house is wired that reduces speed so I cant say that Suddenlink is at fault.

I wish i could give zero stars. Internet service is HORRIBLE, customer service is even worse. They give you 100 different numbers, no number goes directly to the store, they want you to fix everything yourself. And apparently its quite common for their technology to just die. And then they cant replace it because they need to call a technician to come look at it. Horribly ran company.

Absolutely terrible, borderline fraudulent. For several months I had intermittent internet outages that made remote working impossible. It took weeks to schedule a service appointment, and I had to take time off work to be there, and after making me wait 8 hours, the technician never showed up. I spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this resolved, and every call was a long trip through voice menu hell. I eventually canceled and switched to AT&T, which is slower but reliable so far. Suddenlink never refunded my money for the months of outages, and to top it all off, they charged me a $200 equipment charge after I canceled. This is for a 5-year-old modem that can be purchased for $62 new, and they never mentioned anything about returning it. I just spent 20 minutes on the phone and never reached a human being. This is par for the course. Stay away. Youve been warned.

Suddenlink is officially the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I have had several interactions, all negative and extremely frustrating over the last year.Suddenlinks internal systems are so messed up they cannot even provide repairs. We purchased a house with a Suddenlink provided Tivo and the device is having audio issues. Suddenlink refuses to switch us to a normal cable box because they have no record of the Tivo on our account. I have not reached a single person who can help with simple issues.Contractors who are sent for repairs do not have the simplest knowledge of networking or how to setup the equipment. Our last tech, and I use that word very lightly, did not have the appropriate equipment on the truck to repair the issues. He had no way to get support from Suddenlink while he was here and he badmouthed the company the whole time he was here. Would not be surprised if he quit after leaving our house. All I am looking to do was consolidate devices and get working TV. I actually feel bad for anyone who does not have a choice in providers. The worst. Avoid at all cost

The worst company, public service or otherwise, I have ever dealt with. So bad it borders on, if not actually is, criminal negligence or fraud. We have been customers for over a month and have not had ANY connection for 50-60% of the time. How do I know? Because I monitor the connection 24/7 with enterprise-grade software. Call their customer service and you get run around the phone tree for hours with people who can’t schedule anything, can’t change billing, and can barely speak english. If you manage to actually get a contractor out to your house (we have had one come 4 times), they are totally uneducated on how internet works and utterly unprepared to fix anything. All they do is reset your router or modem and leave, only to have your service go out minutes later.Visit their office in person and the clerks there are again totally unable to change scheduling or do anything of use. We only managed to get a work truck to repair our line after reporting a downed line ACROSS OUR ROAD which was a safety hazard for which Suddenlink would be financially liable. After getting a work truck to replace and test most of our line, THE TECHNICIAN HIMSELF said Suddenlinks infrastructure and local nodes are, AND HAVE BEEN OVERLOADED FOR MONTHS causing massive, FREQUENT outages for most of their customers. He replaced our line, fixing the physical connection issues, but Suddenlinks remaining infrastructure is so bad we still experience zero-connection outages on a daily basis. Let me reiterate that again: THE TECHNICIAN, who inspected our entire house line, neighborhood line, our modem, and our router, CONFIRMED FOR US, IN PERSON, that Suddenlink has massive infrastructure problems which are ENTIRELY responsible for the outages we are having.Might I add that the downed coax line is still in fact down and is still in our road, even after the technician fixed our line. I saw a snow plow hit it yesterday. I am waiting with excitement for someone to sue suddenlink for massive damages due to their infrastructure. We have reported the line to the local authorities and Suddenlink, yet suddenlink still does nothing. I am recording the line in the road with a security camera in case someone hits it and needs corroborating evidence in a court of law. Having this fraudulent company evaporate under a mountain of criminal and civil lawsuits would be nothing short of total justice.Hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with, and that’s saying something. Please do not give this company your money.

The last one said we lose Internet connection because the router/modem is in conflict with the one adjacent to it from AT&T. He disconnected the one from AT&T; the next day our Internet was down again, and now we have 1 bar or No Service on our cell phones. Have to go outside to place a call. Have seen request in local Truckee paper for Comcast. Starting to think we should push for that, especially in snow country. The staff--Dacia in particular--is simply exceptional. Myra L.UPDATE: Mike P. gave us a service call last week and carefully listened to our description of the problems--both Internet & cell phone service--then went to work. He undid the work of another technician, who had looped our AT&T modem incorrectly, interrupting our cell phone service. He then explained the situation. In the five or so days since, we now have both consistent Internet and cell phone service. He should be cloned. I would encourage Suddenlink to provide more thorough training of their technicians; all have been well meaning, often simply providing new equipment, but not up to the expertise of Mike P. There is a way to resolve the problem, but they arent allowed to enter any information into their records so the same mistake happens every time. They have missed half the appointments and the other half they come but dont complete the work. It is relatively easy to solve the issue, but the support (and sales) teams are unable to add information to the record that the 3rd party technician can see. They have no way to contact that technician, so we are stuck in an infinite loop. Spent over $1k having people wait during the 10 hour window they provide. Twice they didnt show. The other time he showed up, didnt complete the work and left. We have waited 3-6 weeks and as long as 3 months to have our service restored. And they expect you to keep paying your Bill all along.. and will only reimburse you after the problem is fixed and only if you call in and request it. They keep you on hold for over an hour only to hang up on you when you ask to be transferred to a supervisor. They schedule appointments, dont show up and reschedule you appointment behind every one else that has called in after you (another 2 weeks out) . They expect you to drive 1-2 yours to swap out your equipment and their online tech support cant even figure out how to give you the right /current directions for the right remote. This is the absolute WORST service I have seen with a cable service company in over 40 years!

Employee told me they couldnt refund me if I cancel with them . Its clear as day SUDDENLINK YOU NEED A NEW SYSTEM . In a time like this you are taking advantage of your customer instead of helping. I hope the owner sees this or at least gets relayed to him or her .

I live in Serene Lakes. Generally Suddenlink provides reasonably fast Internet but now that we are having these power outages I have no Internet at all. AT&T is running generators in Serene Lakes to keep their Internet going during the outages. Suddenlink does not seem to be willing to do this. So I will have been without Internet for eight days so far this month. I have every reason to believe these outages will be happening more frequently in the future and would very much like to know that Suddenlink is ready to deal with it.

We have a 200 Mbs Internet plan with Suddenlink. Initially we got 65 Mbs download speed which over the first year decreased to 12 Mbs. Upon calling tech support I was told I needed a 16 channel cable modem, which I promptly bought and installed. The download speed was up to 25 Mbs. Over the past year download speeds have averaged under 2 Mbs. Two days ago I called tech support who told me I needed a 64 channel cable modem. I said I wanted a technician to come out and install all Suddenlink gear. The guy came today, looked and my setup, tested everything at the house and said it was all good, it was problem on the pole and that hed put a trouble ticket in to get it fixed by maintenance. Later I got a call saying the problem was resolved, but no increase in speed. The phone tech said the report from the tech said hed changed all the connectors in the house (not true) and that things were working perfectly and closed the case (not true). She could find no record of any trouble ticket for maintenance at the pole, but would call me back to confirm. No call back. How can these guys stay in business? Avoid them at all costs!!!!

They disconnected my service for No payment of bill due. I have been paying them auto pay through my bank. It was hell to find out how to contact them and understand what happened. Their phone system will only want my credit card number and no more choices offered. Thought new customer line I managed to get through to them. They say I have exceeded my data and there is an extra charge. This service is for my vacation home that I occasionally go to, so it is a “ransom”. I asked for supervisor they tell me there is no supervisor on site and I do believe them. Sudden link is a monopoly service in my area and there is nothing one can do. I will complain to the fcc see where that will take me.

AWFUL experience, avoid this company at all costs. We ordered 1 gig internet a month ago. Technician came out to install it, refused to wear a mask in our home and demand $80 in cash for new wiring, but refused to provide a receipt. We told him no. Internet is beyond slow ~10mbs. Called Suddenlink, who told me the technician was lying, and there are no charges or wiring. Said theyd send another technician out in a week and half but he was a no show. No apologies from Suddenlink whatsoever. Cant get anyone else out or another week and a half. Ive now been paying $200 a month for internet I cannot use for more than a month. Hour wait time to talk to anyone on the phone. They have promised to call us back 3 times and never have. Terrible company that doesnt give a damn about customers.

We work w/ them at dozens of houses and EVERY occasion we have to work with them is an awful experience. Theyve no showed on appointments more than once after waiting 4-10 hours. Their automated system has 3-4 options and if those dont fit the system hangs up. Ive asked to speak w/a manager dozens of time. I get put on hold for 20-40minutes, then Im told the manager will call back and THEY NEVER CALL BACK. At the end of the day myself and our clients are billed for Gigabyte/sec speed and Suddenlink maybe gets 1/2 that BUT they wont drop the bill to coincide w/the service speed theyre providing. I am incredibly frustrated. I changed my service by phone more than 2 months ago. Was on the phone over an hour to do it. A month later, billing has not changed. They are still billing me the old rate. I call again, on the phone for 90 minutes, they say they take care of it. A month later, still being billed the same thing. I have now wasted over 2.5 hours of phone time and they cannot get it right. I have to call again and try to stop by the physical location becuase it is clear they do not know what they are doing and I have now overpaid by over $160. This is the worst provider I have ever used, worse than comcast, worse than verizon. THE WORST!

Horrible Customer Service. I have spoken with a rep each month since april trying to get into a lower basic cable plan with better internet as I do NOT want to pay overage data charges. Each month the rep tells me the new plan of the month that will lower my cost and provide more internet. Each month my bill gets higher with more charges. They can NOT get it right! The last CS rep was so rude that when I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me he doesnt have one and there is no one else to speak to. Apparently they do not have CS Supervisors. I find this hard to believe. The CS is very poor and the internet is very shotty....I wish I had another option. Trying to reach them on the phone has cost me many many hours. SUDDENLINK IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY. IF I COULD, I WOULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS!

WORST company ever. Worse than AT&T. They can’t even find the house they are coming to service at, left a door hanger somewhere (not my house) and said I wasn’t home (I was waiting hours for this appointment). Calling results in being put on hold or being hung up on. Cable tv boxes are cheap and break all the time. It was fine when you could drive to the store to swap the boxes but the store is closed due to Covid now. Internet is supposed to be fast and it is when you have it, but it’s NOT reliable. Drops out all the time. As I try to leave this review, internet is not responding. Of course!! 😂 This company has horrible customer service. Each operator passes you to another operator. If you love wasting time and money for nothing, then definitely get on board with Suddenlink.

I am yet to see how the internet will perform.

I have had numerous terrible experiences with Suddenlink. My most positive interaction was during the winter when a sub contractor came and went above and beyond accessing and freeing our line from the snow! He even called us to update his ETA. His exemplary service just emphasizes how bad Suddenlink is. Unfortunately every other interaction has been abysmal. I am waiting now for a tech who was scheduled from 1-5 and even received a robocall that someone was on their way 21/2 hours ago. It is now after 5. I have called the customer service folks 3 times because I have had techs say they came by the cabin when I was sitting waiting for them and have been charged 60$ for a no show because the techs “say” they came after I drove 2hours each way to meet them. In addition, the customer service people don’t seem to have any way to contact the techs except by email!!! It is nearly impossible to get a reliable report on the status of what is happening. I have given the same assessment of what the wiring problem is up here at least 5 times!! I have no other choice for TV, so I guess we will finally have to give up because there is no other option for our location. It’s a shame. They should be ashamed.

After 10 phone calls and a visit to the local store I finally was able to schedule my service. I had made plans to have someone at my house wait for the technician to arrive between the window of 1-5. The “where Is my technician” status link updated throughout the day and the appointment kept getting pushed. Eventually the update showed between 9-10pm which was 4-5 hours later than the latest time in the original window. I had to arrange for someone else to wait for the tech at this point. Well that window came and went. No call. No show. I have never seen this kind of service in my life. I’m told it’s normal and given the lack of competitors they simply don’t care. If you call the customer service line it’s a total crapshoot if someone will care to understand and help. Unfortunately, even despite these folks best intentions they are obviously trained to follow a script which usually ends with unresolved issues or false promises. While Suddenlink may be in a position of power today to treat their customers however they want this kind of service will catch up. This business will be disrupted and karma will have its day.

My experience with Suddenlink has been the worst Internet and phone service I have ever come across. The service only worked intermittently with outages around the same time every night. Every time I called service the person I spoke to could never seem to find a problem. (Every person i spoke to was also rude and did not care to even be on the phone) They would always schedule somebody to come out and take a look but this would typically take 3 to 6 weeks. After deciding to move for personal reasons, I was thrilled to learn that Suddenlink was no longer serviced in the area I would be moving to. At this point I was ready to cancel my service and when I called nobody would except that I wanted to cancel and continuously tried to upgrade my service. Nobody at Suddenlink seem to understand that the area I was moving to was not serviced by them but all they wanted was me to spend more money. If you have any other options for these services DO NOT use the suddenlink. Unless you are used to constant outages horrible customer service and high prices. If zero stars was an option that is what i would score them.

Our phones and internet have been down since 2/11/2020. I was told last wed our service would be up in 48hrs when I inquired. A week later still down. There is no reason given. No updates from anyone. Horrible customer service. Weve been with this service for 30 years, not the same company. Had very few problems until Suddenlink took over. Price continues to increase but service is never a full month. The motto of this company is Give us the money but they take no responsibility. They should have their licenses to operate revoked.

This companys phone support is beyond abysmal. While it appears the folks are trying, it is very, very clear they are empowered to provide nothing. Our account was not billed, despite being enrolled in online billing, and we were not contacted, thus, payments piled up. When we called, I was told the same thing each time, as if it was rehearsed. Your card expired, and you never told us. No, it didnt. Your bank refused payment. No, they didnt, we have months of successful statements. Its out fault, weve escalated the issue and someone will call you back in 24 to 72 hours. Guess what? Its been three times, no call. I looked up the issue, and its the result of a billing system switch which has been written about in multiple national news sources. Its incredible. Even in an age where customer support is despised for all of these reasons, when its become a running joke that customer service is terrible throughout corporate America, Suddenlink manages to fit every stereotype of the bottom-of-the-barrel concern for their customer. Its almost more fascinating than frustrating.
