I had a great experience with astro transmission. I am restoring at 64 impala convertible & I was nervous about leaving it there.. Isabelle Assured me that my convertible would be safe . I was not able to get all the work done Because some of the prices were just not realistic for my budget. Overall this was a great place to bring my 1964 Impala!

I had called for a check engine light for a shift solenoid on a 2007 Toyota Camry. My car drove perfectly fine had never had major car problems until I came here. I had went in and they did a “diagnostic” on my car and it took them 2 days to tell me the transmission fluid is burnt. Which I find very odd because my car didn’t smoke or did the fluid smell burnt but, I trusted their “professional” decision to move forward with the transmission fluid change and they deleted the code, that I could have done myself. Charged me nearly 400 dollars for that. The check engine light came back on for the same issue again I call them and they say bring it in. Couple of days go by and my car transmission is completely broken. They towed it then tell me oh well we need to look at your transmission to see what’s wrong.that will be 500 just to take it out and see what’s wrong. They never looked at the solenoid it’s self. My car has never had any major mechanical issues and Toyota’s are very reliable cars.I go in with a working car and come back with nothing. Mechanics are very good and making ppl believe something is seriously wrong with your car but, it’s a 20 dollar fix instead of thousands. I highly suggest not taking your car here unless you have someone who knows about cars and can see if your being scammed or not.

I called in and told them my car trouble and ask what cost for check? They say free to check. I come in with appt, they check and tell me they need to do big check for $180 or cannot tell me what wrong. I wait some hour. They show me results from the scanner. ( Later I wonder if they check my car at all or just did a 10 min scan check and charge me $180. You can buy decent scanner on Amazon for $50.) They tell me car repair is $2000+, ignition coil $1500. I cannot afford. I look cost of material on internet $100 for coil but not oem, ok I try fix myself with YouTube video or find a mechanic who will install part for me. Maybe good place if you have alot money. Desk lady was nice but service guy didnt like be question and could not bother to show me a walk thru of the diagnostic.

Reliable, high quality work. Not cheap. We have been using this Aastro for over 9 yearsEdit 8/5/2021 - Their prices are now astronomical, and since George left we believe (know) they are doing more than is recommended even for routine checkups. Adios Aastro.

For needing an inspection done very quickly or pretty much anything I would definitely highly recommend this location the staff is very friendly from the beginning and its more than you can ask for so get on them

I have been coming here for years, roughly around 2014 when the transmission died in my truck. Been trusting them with heavy maintenance on my truck and when I am to busy to do my own oil change. I highly recommend them.

Had to get a new engine so AASTRO Tucson Corp Office was closest for towing. They contracted out the rebuild of a used engine and admittedly once completed my car was getting better gas mileage than before. Although their quote was the highest of all the quotes and very short limited warranty. My main computer panel decided to go several months later so I had to purchase a newer car, I was sad since I loved how my old car was finally running.

George Hammel and the team at AASTRO (on Broadway) continue to deliver. I tell my children that when you encounter excellence in any profession then build a long-term relationship. My 2006 GMC Yukon just passed 258,000 miles. Its running perfectly due largely to the meticulous care of the team at AASTRO. My entire family will take their vehicles to no other place. As an added bonus George knows his ATVs and hes earned my business for my two off-road vehicles as well.

Professional, kind, honest, fairly priced. I cannot think on a better place were to take my car. Even more, after a few days of repairing my car, I noticed some issues with the engine and they checked it, tuned it and delivered it back to me free of charge, and my car is running like a champ!

I have taken my auto to AASTRO Transmission for various problems over the last couple of years. I normally speak with George and he has been upfront and in my opinion honest with his assessment. When I thought I had an issue after one of his repairs I brought the car back and he put a mechanic right on it to check it. In one case we had an issue and he immediately resolve the issue in a professional manner. In recent times I have spoken with Emily and she took care of getting my vehicle repaired in a timely manner with not hidden surprises. I brought my vehicle in recently for a failed bearing in the AC compressor and worked with Jessica who got all the information needed and scheduled the repair and everything worked just as she promised. Are they absolutely perfect - maybe, maybe not, but for me Ill use them again but more importunately I would recommend them. When you bring your car in ask questions about the problem, obviously ask the level of complexity and cost to repair the problem, get an estimate, and stay in touch with them during the repair process. Once you pick up your vehicle make sure everything works the way you expect it and remember to bring it back for the 2 week checkup. Remember this checkup is your responsible not AASTRO. Need work done give them a shot you will be pleasantly surprised but remember George and his team do quality work but not cheap work. If you want cheap go somewhere else.

Best work in town. Very affordable considering trans issues are never cheap. They were very knowledgeable, explained everything thoroughly, and even got my tpms light to go away. My tpms light has been on since I got the car from the dealer. Amazing work, super nice, very professional. I wouldnt want to go anywhere else.

This shop is amazing. It provides better than dealer quality work for my vehicle. I brought my 2003 4runner for complex transfer gear assembly where they were instrumental in accomplishing this job with such precision. My attraction is they stand behind their work and offer extensive checks and monitor as well as focusing on repairing any other issues that may cause the problem itself. George and Gloria as well other folks in the office are true professionals. They treated my vehicle as their own. I can not believe that I am writing such a review which really sounds quite over done, but it really is what happened this time around for me. Now both my vehicles go to them with such comfort. They stand by what they do.

This place is a SCAM. I took my 2008 Chevy equinox to them for over heating issues. They called me back that day and said the thermostat housing was leaking. They said this was causing the over heating also this is why my engine threw a check engine light randomly for a few minutes. Because it had leaked onto the the plugs. They said they took apart the plugs and cleaned them and put them back together. Then they called me back the next day and said oh the water pump is leaking and needs replaced as well along with the thermostat. And that the thermostat was the main cause of the over heating. They wanted to charge me almost 400 dollars 4 hours of labor to replace the thermostat telling me they had to take apart half of the exhaust and another 500 to replace the water pump along with the 150 they talked me into paying for diagnostics instead of the 55 to just test the cooling system. They told me that if they didn’t find anything with the $150 diagnostic that they could have just done the $55 cooling system check they wouldn’t charge the the whole $150. But they did charge me the $150 because of what they “found” with the plugs. I didn’t feel comfortable paying all this I went and picked up my car. Nobody ever touched my plugs. They are still covered with the same dust and grime they had on them before i dropped it off. I replaced my thermostat and thermostat housing in 20 minutes without taking apart any of the exhaust system. And I have very little experience with cars. Had a a second opinion on the pump. It is NOT leaking. They tried to rip me off for over $1000 when I fixed it myself for $60 and 20 minutes time.

These guys are really good. I dont say that lightly. They tell you exactly whats going on with your vehicle and dont try to scam you on pricing like some other places Ive been too. The staff is very knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and will definitely make sure your vehicle is working right. Ive been going to AASTRO for a long time now and they always take care of me like Im one of their best friends and I always get the VIP treatment. I would definitely recommend going to these guys for any mechanical work that needs to be done to your car no matter how big or how small. Youll definitely get the best service from these guys.

Super nice and friendly but completely lied to me about the issue with my car. Attempted to charge me nearly 1k for repairs. I luckily got a second opinion at Pepboys and turned out to be exactly what I thought it was originally. I am baffled by this service and the front they gave me with their smiling faces. Please be cautious of them.

Complete waste of time. After being told on the phone that they could help me, I set an appointment. When I arrived, I was told they couldnt do the service due to lack of time and I would need to schedule another day or leave my car. Why do these shops lie? So they can hook you in for lots of money! I miss my old school mechanic who could repair any car.

My experience was positive. I found George, the manager, and Jessica, the customer service representative, to be courteous, professional and thorough. I am not a car person but I believe their staff to be experienced and professional. George is particularly good at keeping you informed on the status of your repair. You dont have to keep calling him to find out whats happening, George calls you. The level of customer service is very high. This level of customer service comes with a price. In my case, approximately 15% more than than Ford dealership.

I LOVE AASTRO! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and doesnt try to sell you something your vehicle does not need. While I was in the hospital, the staff was very helpful & went above and beyond their wonderful customer service.Good customer service is very hard to find. Well, I spent a lot of money to fix an older car that runs great. I had a good debate with Emily on whether to buy a new car or not. Customer service was great, a got a couple of follow up calls. They let me see the car while it was being repaired and showed me the old parts (which is very important to me). So far, so good.

AASTRO on 22nd has the best customer service in town. I have had a transmission rebuilt here on my own vehicle a few years ago, as well as my girlfriends transmission replaced recently. They are very friendly and sincerely want to help you. I feel very confident in their ability to quickly and accurately diagnose and treat a problem, or perform maintenance on vehicles with expertise. Their prices are fair and they will take the time to explain everything in detail. I will be giving AASTRO my business in the future and would recommend to anyone.

Best customer service ever! My husband and I left our car in professional hands without doubt. Our car needed a transmission rebuild and new computer (Toyota RAV4 2001).. At the time of payment I experienced many issues with my credit card to make a payment and they understood, and had the patience to wait so I could fix that issue with my bank (took 4 days). After repair everything they give us a complimentary car wash!! Since 1997 I have been bringing both of my Mustangs to the folks here (formerly 22nd st). Sometimes simple repairs other times complex repairs. I have been very pleased with the service I have always received. Competent, and get it right the 1st time. No going back to get it right. Thats what I enjoy with George and his staff.

I have had service here a couple of times and each time went excellent. Customer service is top notch and high quality work is all that they know. Having to get your vehicle serviced is never fun. It doesnt matter if it is something simple like an oil change or a major failure like I had occur but his team of professionals knows what it takes to get the job done right.

Rip off!! They flushed my fuel system for 180 something I left paying over 600!! They said they also changed my oil and spark plugs but I checked and they are the same old parts I put in it. they are nice people but they want your money no matter what lie they have to say to get it. They did not get my permission to do half the work and they over charged a lot on the cheap parts that they put into my car.. dont get me wrong . they fixed my car but over charged me and lied about their work. Do not go here. Im very disappointed in how ripped off I got. All the 4 and 5 star reviews are fake. scroll down you will notice. They keep writing there own good reviews that are clearly lies. I explained that I was in a money bind only to be hustled for even my familys money. they wouldnt allow me to take my car. then a few days later I noticed that a few little things from my car were stolen. Im writing this as a fair warning to all!!!!

Overall my visit was a positive experience. The staff were polite and seemed to be competent in their profession. My only complaint was that the appointment I scheduled over the phone wasnt on the books when I arrived and I ended up waiting longer than I would have liked for the inspection. I had the timing belt and water pump replaced, and the price was comparable to another shop I had received a quote from.

Im pretty unhappy with the whole experience there. No one suggested or considered that my vehicle may be under warranty. They should have suggested it.There was a real lack of communication between the receptionist and myself. My car was kept overnight without any notice to me that it would be.Overall the staff was friendly and seemed to know what they were doing but they didnt seem to be very customer service oriented. Im pretty disappointed in it all. They seem to be slightly higher priced than most and somewhat charge happy.I wont be using them again.

Always a positive experience at AASTRO on Speedway! Jimmy takes time to explain any vehicle problem encountered and also takes that extra step to reassure you things will be taken care of promptly. I recently had some work performed on my SUV and a problem was discovered with my radiator. However, because the radiator was still under warranty, it was repaired quickly and without question. Just wonderful service from everyone at AASTRO!

Recently I had my 2004 Toyota Matrix worked on. They put struts on and fixed my rear window wiper and defrost. It was done quickly and the cost was lower than other places I looked into. The staff is very kind and professional. I am very happy with AASTRO Transmission and would recommend them to anyone.

I was traveling from CA to AZ to visit a relative when I had major transmission problems. I phoned several companies for the repair. I was treated as if I was imposition to most of them except for AASTRO transmission.They gave me the warm fuzzy feel that I needed at that time. I not only was able to have them look at the car but they also gave me an estimate that I felt I could live with.Great service and very friendly and courteous people. Been going to AASTRO Transmission and Auto Repair for years. Always a fair and good experience. The last time was for a road check before a long trip. Everything checked out OK. The newer location at Broadway and Old Spanish Trail is very nice, and a lot more parking. Service and customer service is still top notch. Nobody likes to pay for car care, but when you need to, I have full confidence in AASTRO and its staff. Never have had any problems in dealing with them (many years and six vehicles).

When my truck needed transmission work I searched the internet and found that AASTRO was rated number 1. I called and the work was done right away and very professionally. I have since had my vehicle worked on many times there and have always found the service to be excellent and fast. Jessica, Emily, George and all of the mechanics treat me like their good friend and I am very satisfied with their work. I will not take my truck anywhere else.

The car had lots of problems, failed emissions and everything. We needed to get the car fixed to drive out of state safely. That is exactly what they did. The fixed all of the major problems so we can drive it safely. The cost is relatively cheap compared to what we would have paid at a different shop. They completed the work job well done and the price is right. I was in a bind, needed a serpentine belt replaced and these guys got it done for me in less than a few hours, hassle free and at a great price too. The customer service was excellent and they kept me updated throughout the whole process.

If you are looking for the definition of professional and friendly service, all you have to do is go to AASTRO at 22nd street. WOW what a great group. From the first phone call to the exit out the door this group is #1. No need to look anywhere else for automotive service.

I recently had an auto emergency and another shop recommended AASTRO Transmission on 22nd. Not only did they correct the issue, they also identified and corrected another issue that I had no clue about, which saved me hundreds. The team that they have took great care of me and my vehicle. I will definitely go to them first for any future mechanical problems. The only downside is a small waiting room so if you have 5 kids like I did, it will be a tight fit but not a major issue and has nothing to do with the service so technically I should not say it.

Aastro has always been very professional and trustworthy. No hassle service. George and Jessica are wonderful and I always get quality work with a smile. I appreciate the honesty there. I have never been disappointed.

Shady. Dishonest. Way Overpriced

I had been putting off getting my power steering looked at until I had found a reliable mechanic. The google reviews really helped to make up my mind about AASTRO’s. I was able to get an appointment quickly while still working with my schedule. All of the staff at AASTRO’s are super friendly and very nice. They have no problems talking to you about the scope of work needing to be done on your vehicle and what it is going to cost you. I was quoted a similar price to what my regular mechanic had quoted me shortly before we moved and feel confident that the work was on par with that of my previous mechanic. They, also, had me come in for a two-week checkup to make sure that my power steering pump wasn’t leaking after they repaired it and to give it another look. Overall I was very happy and will be a returning customer.

Great experience... as always! Dropped my car off before they were open, came back at 9 am and the oil change was done! Jimmy had the mechanic look over my entire car - found nothing else wrong (yay!). He even gave me a coupon to use for my oil change since I didnt have mine with me. AASTRO kept me happy. :-)

I am very happy with Aastro. They have been taking care of my cars for years. I know when I pick up my car I am driving a vehicle that is safe for me on the road. They always have time to check something if I think there is a problem,. I am a valued Customer.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I trust their work and they have offered me several auto solutions that saved me money, even though they could have easily recommended and charged me more for other options. Highly reccomend!

Overall positive experience. Repairs were done on time but breaks were changed without my knowledge or included in any estimates I was provided to authorize. Being on an strict budget and having to borrow the money to reach the provided estimate, the additional charges for the breaks would have put me over. Fortunately, they worked with me and were able to take the cost of the breaks off the bill.

Was charged thousands of dollars and the issue with the car was never fixed. We had to return several times, and each time we were told the issue was fixed. Eventually we were told the transmission needed to be rebuilt. This would cost more than the value of the car, so we opted not to do it and then we were charged another $2000 to get the car back. Thats half the value of the car. I would not recommend AASTRO to anyone.

George Jessica and Emily are the nicest people their customer service is outstanding and their knowledge of all aspects of auto repair is phenomenal from major auto repairs to minor fixes they have taken better care of me and my family than any other shop in town I highly recommended them to all of my family and friend and have had several family members use their services. we love our shop

This place is awesome...they take great care of you and your car. They explain everything to you step by step, what you have to do now and what you can wait on. I came to astro a single older women who knows very little about cars and astro took such great care of me, I honestly cant say enough great things about this place. Oh and this is not a fake review, the reason why there are so many reviews is because this place is just that awesome!

I brought my vehicle in for a simple repair and thankfully the awesome mechanics at AASTRO found a major and potentially harmful problem with my belt. The staff was caring, understanding and not aggressive when explaining the options available to me. I was very impressed.

Upon the recommendation of a friend, I started taking my 4 automobiles to ASSTRO and have not experienced anything, but excellent, friendly and expert advice and service. Agree with last person, all these reviews are fake. If you look on google no other auto repair place has over 100 reviews, most might have 10 reviews. This place has people that ACT nice but they are the typical lying auto mechanics. I paid them hundreds of dollars for nothing, car wouldnt start up a week later. I also left with a cracked bumper, but of course it wasnt them that hit one of the poles thats in their parking lot (sarcasm). DO NOT trust this place.

After being given an outrageous quote from our dealer, I called AASTRO and was given a quote for half as much for the same parts and then some. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. Well be taking all of our vehicles there from now on.
