Leo and company are the best! Ive found an honest place to take my cars!

For numerous years this is the location I’ve taken my vehicle to. I moved to a different part of town but drove the distance to have my vehicle serviced because I’m comfortable here. They never try to rip me off. The manager Leo was busy multitasking but was still very professional & patient. He was able to squeeze me in & I really appreciate it. I recommend this specific Brake Masters.

Was excellent service. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation and an engine diagnosis and was in and out with the info I need in a little over an hour

They help me save as much as I can with my options & do the best they can for me.

They installed the upper and lower control arms on my Avalanche. Did a very good job. Alignment was spot-on. Watched them measure the distances between the tires and fender well to make sure everything was even. Price was very affordable. I highly recommend going to Brake Masters for more service. Thanks!

I took my van to the shop because it was shaking, they did a diagnostic on it and let me know I needed to replace some parts to fix the shaking and it was $900! After I left with my van I realize that the problem was never fixed and I actually got worse to the point where I almost got in a car accident, I took it back to them and the second time they had let me know I needed to replace one more part and advise me to purchase the part and they would replace it because they already had put a red flag on this part, The part was an additional $400 and after they replaced it I left with my vehicle still shaking and bad condition. I took my car back to them for a third time and the store manager told me that I needed to replace my tires they made me replace all of these parts to tell me it was some thing as simple all along as my tires, after I replaced my tires the shaking got better.Last year I replaced my whole air-conditioning system with a different mechanic shop so my air conditioning system is brand new but after my third visit to brake master I noticed that my air conditioning was no longer working after I left the shop, I took my vehicle to get my air conditioning checked I originally replaced my air conditioning system and they had let me know that something was tampered with in the system they confirmed that while brake master was doing all these repairs on my car that they damaged my air-conditioning system and when I had called them to let them know that the store manager at the Ina Location in Tucson tried to deny this was incredibly rude and even hung up on me when I have confirmation on paper that they damaged my system. I’ve had the most horrible experience of my life with these mechanics that I’ve been so graciously trying to compromise with, I advise everyone and anyone to to get any work done here as it is a waste of your time and your money!

Really stressful. I dont trust the repairs they made. Not the first time I felt this way over 5+ years. Doesnt seem like they want my business. Thats alright theres plenty of good mechanics in my area

Im not one to write reviews but when I recognize talent and service I want to make sure I let everyone know. Ive never been to a automotive place before where the technician took the time to explain every detail that was wrong with my vehicle. Romeo did that for me and I sincerely appreciate that. I recommend this facility to whomever needs an honest person to work on their vehicles. Oh and price wasnt bad at all. Thanks Romeo and his team! Keep up the great 👍 work guys!

Seriously this place is completely booked online reservations every month for three weeks out, they only have 2 openings a day for reservations and they still make you wait. I think staff is booking these all up themselves so they dont have to take any more reservations. I compared the bookings to all other sites for the same time frame and this was the only store that has their calendar booked out like that. Take a look for yourselves. Had to take back my truck after a break job that took all day and they forgot to bleed my breaks. Dont bother, its not any cheaper or a better deal here.

On 6/13/2019 I paid $1,596.15 on repair ticket # 86266 employee #2744 to have the air conditioning system in my 2010 Hinda CRV replaced. Two weeks later, the vehicle was back in the store for inconsistent cooling. The shop stated that they topped it off with freon. A ticket was not issued for that service.On Saturday 7/6 while driving the car I experienced another mishap. While pulling into a parking spot, I turned off the engine to a loud popping sound and the release of a large cloud of dark colored steam from under the hood.This failure was diagnosed as a gasket that failed. The shop performed that repair under ticket #86630.Moving forward, the vehicle never really seemed to fully cool.I took it to a different shop for an analysis. They stated that it was overfilled with freon. They also diagnosed that the Schrader valves needed to be replaced. That service cost $75.Fast forward to 9/3, the unit is once again not consistently cooling the vehicle. At this time, I called the Brake Masters corporate office to speak to their Customer Service Manager Timothy Harphant. I was only able to leave a message, that line is not actively staffed. After leaving a message, I rang back to the operator and asked for Harphants email such that I may forward to him the invoices as referenced above. Dorothy their operator stated that they have hundreds of employees and did not know the email of Mr Harphant.On 9/4, Mr. Harphant contacted me based on the message that I left. Part of his response was that its a 10 year old car. Well, that being the case, they might consider modifying the marketing materials to reflect that they would really prefer to work on cars 2011 and newer. He did invite me to return the vehicle for yet another inspection. I advised Mr Harphant that I would get back to him. I stated that I had no confidence in them doing anything further with the vehicle. I have since turned this case over to the Better Business Burueau. I think Brake Masters has lost their way. They have an inefficient unskilled and largely impolite staff at the Ina Thornydale location. Use caution if you need this location

I have been having my vehicles serviced at this Brake Master and I am always pleased. Their professional attitude and honest estimates for their services always is fair.The BEST!

These guys were friendly and to my knowledge they did a great job, however, I did wait an hour just for them to look at my car (despite the clerk saying theyd pull my car right in). Then I waited another hour just for them to check my breaks, and almost another hour for them to actually fix them. So, in total it took about 3 hrs, and from what I saw, that was pretty unnecessary. I watched other cars pull in, mechanics wander away from mine to work on others, etc. If Id known it would take this absurdly long, Id have planned for it, no big deal. My advice would be to really hold them to a specific time window if you go here. I hate having my time wasted for no real reason other than poor communication.

Ok service just took them 2 hours to do front brakes. I could of done it in 20 minutes but the girlfriend has a warranty on them so next time I will skip on the warranty and do it myself

Worse service ever no taking any of my card back there they did a transmission leak fix next day have the same leak now they said it’s the transmission pump and they don’t fix that at the break master what a joke now I’m $500 becarful with this guys

Jeff was very helpful over the phone. He discussed the options we could take in trouble shooting a tricky scenario. This ended up saving me over $1500. I was able to schedule an appointment online and my car was able to be picked up in the same day. Great customer service!

I no nothing of cars. However, one does tend to notice when ones car starts to smell like smoke and brakes screech like wet cats.I took my car to Fire Stone in September to get the front brakes replaced and the rotors tuned. In turn, they didnt even touch the rotors, and replaced the brakes with cheap material. Five months later and my brakes look terrible, and my rotors need to be replaced AND Fire Stone didnt even look at the serpentine belt, which was cracked. The great people at Brake Masters took pity on me and were extremely helpful. The replaced everything for the cost of just getting my front brakes replaced at Fire Stone, and showed me the worn out belt and brakes that they replaced. 10/10 would recommend.

We took our 2000 Chevy Silverado to Store #159 and talked with Jeff. My brakes and ABS lights were coming on intermittently. I had Brake Masters check the entire braking system. It was determined that the control module needed replacement, but the front and rear brakes were in great shape. We have been Brake Masters customers for 25+ years. We highly recommend Jeff’s and Leo’s team for most of your automotive needs.

Leo at Brake Masters #159 was so nice! Helped me figure out my cars problems and gave estimates on 2 repairs and even had Lyft take me home so I didnt have to hang around while they worked on my car. I definitely recommend this shop!

I had a great experience, previously I had an appointment at 5 at pep boys but when I arrived they told me they weren’t able to do it (didn’t have my oil filter in stock). I then called Brake masters and Jeff told me he would be able to make it happen if I arrived promptly. I did, when I spoke with Jeff in person I asked him how much it would be for everything including tax, he told me $30. I appreciated the honest clear answer and also that they didn’t surprise me with any extra charges (he even applied a $10 coupon). In less than 20 mins I was out the door! A gentleman named Ortiz gave me my car keys and some helpful advice before I drove off. Thanks for the great customer service!

Went in to have brakes checked. After a short wait I was escorted out and shown the brake issue and other thier concerns. Told them to fix front brakes and quote me for the other work. No overly pushy sales for the extra service to be done immediately. Very professional and done in time quoted.

The person who helped my girlfriend was hitting on her the entire time. Give me your number and I might bump a little more off your bill. Not professional. Ive never had a problem until now. Also kept saying that stuff needed to be replaced when it didnt need to be. Not sure if I will be back here

Brake Masters I would have to say is an honest and good place to go. Both Leo the Manager & Romeo the Assistant Manager are very respectful and actually try to get you a good and decent price for whatever it is you bring your car in for. Ive taken my truck many times and the last time I took it was on a Tuesday when the manager was off and it was only the Assistant Manager Mr. Romeo. It was busy that day and I had to get my brakes fixed & and oil change done as well.Mr Romeo gave me an estimated time of how long the wait would be. At the time of pick up for my truck everything was done right and I was told I had an oil leak,which I wasnt aware of when I had my transmission replaced in the truck by another mechanic! I was quoted a price and I was very shocked to the quote I was given because I was expecting it to be way more than what I was told. I was very pleased with everything that day, and the way Mr. Romeo handled himself during the rush he got. Always professional, smiled and greeted the customers very pleasantly and warm. I dont trust most shops and people who say their mechanics, but I do trust Mr. Rubio and his team that they have at this specific location. Thank You for your continued passion you have for cars and making things like this so much easier on your customers.

Scammer, cheats. Took car in for a squeaky wheel. Was told the rotors needed turned and the brake pads were too thick. They needed replaced. Week before that I installed new rotors and pads. Tried to say the rotor needed turned because they were lightly discolored. Rotors were flawless. Pads too thick, come on they are new. Said you needed to put cream on the back of the pads to lubricate them so they dont squeak. Wrong, as a retired Air Force ASE certified mechanic I have a little bit of training, knowledge and experience. This was my job in the military. I am on vacation and wanted to just take care of the squeak. Not be scammed by liars. Politely asked them to put it back together and left asap. Beware.

The staff was super friendly and did not try to sell repairs that my car doesn’t really need. They gave me coupons to insure I was getting the best deal. I will definitely return.

They ruined my engine in my daughters car,by not finding the hole in the oil pan,and ran the car with no oil.Didnt check the oil pan like requested before servicing.

Do not bring your car here they will ignore big problems and you’ll wind up with bigger problems down the road. They say they’re trying to save you money but they’re not . I’ve been a customer here for seven years and I will never go back now. After the change in management their service is completely gone downhill and the customer service is the worst. Especially especially from the Manager Jorge completely Unprofessional makes me very sad to see this business go from being with a best to one of the worst.

I have had multiple bits of work done to my car here. All in all roughly 3 thousand dollars. The first two times I went in were good, quick, and without issue. The last time for my rack and pinion was horrible. And definitely the last time. 2 Months after getting my rack and pinion replaced it began leaking again all over the new work that was done. I took it back in after finding zip ties holding key components together. They fixed this and replaced the issues. Everything was fine for another week or so, until I could smell a chemical burning, turns out my rack and pinion was leaking AGAIN. After speaking to the site manager for a third time they said they could fix it but the work was now out of warranty. So I would have to spend another 800 dollars in 3 months for the same problem. I am now having to replace all the work they did because they did not and could not properly fix the rack and pinion the first time. So I am having to spend another 2500 elsewhere to fix their mistakes. Do not waste your money here . Please.

Car problems are frustrating and stressful. The professionals at this location make car problems a little less nerve wracking. They dont just do brakes either. They have coupons online too. They called frequently to update me on my car, explained things in a way I could understand, and did everything in a way that saved me the most money possible without me even having to ask. On top of great service and prices they also offer one of the best financing plans out there today so you can get back on the road asap even if you cant pay it all upfront.

This place will break parts on your car to drum up more business. Stay away!!! Took my car in for an oil pan gasket. They did their own silicone gasket, said it would last much longer. Started leaking after 10 months. I brought it in to be warrantied for their poor workman ship and they said its not the gasket they did but a gasket on the oil solenoid and wanted $350 to fix it. The oil leak is clearly from the oil pan and now I have a check engine light on for the part they said i need to replace when it had no problems before. On a side note, when I originally brought the car in for the oil pan gasket, got the car back with a crooked steering wheel. They messed with the alignment when alls I went in for was the oil pan gasket.

Super-Fast last-minute alignment! I was on my way, taking my daughter back to college (Flagstaff, AZ), when I saw something that appeared to be the camber out on her rear axle. We called enroute from 30 miles away and spoke to Romeo at the counter concerning our time dilemma. He rushed us in with zero wait, Marco calibrated the vehicle and to our surprise, it was in specs! Thanks to the honest, speedy and accurate mechanical efforts, I was out the door in less than 45 minutes - even with a military discount. Could not be MORE impressed and appreciative! Thank you to all who work here; your efforts in business are incredibly noteworthy!!

I went in the get my brakes done. He told me that i had my there before so i had a lifetime warranty. It would be $79 for labor. Great.i also had a oil change done. While i was at lunch they called and said they only had to adjusted my brakes...so only had to pay for my oil change.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I have been using Brake Masters for years and started noticing a big decline in their service at this location and avoided it at all costs but had to leave my car here because it was the closet shop to where I broke down...Brought my car in last week because it overheated when they checked it next morning they told us that the engine was BLOWN and that I needed a new engine for $4800. When my dad went there to get car towed and asked to speak who worked on it the manager stumbled and fumbled over his words to try and explain how they came to this conclusion. Couldnt even answer basic questions, needless to say we got a second opinion and took it to AASTRO they discovered that it was just a bad water pump and although still a long 8 hour labor job they got it fixed and I have the car back running like a champ. They were floored and found it hilarious and shady that Brake Masters somehow thought the engine was blown. Which brings me to one of two conclusions, either they have NO CLUE what they are doing or they simply thought we were suckers and wanted to get that extra $$$ for replacing an engine. Either way Im completely disappointed with at least this location but it definitely has pushed me away from Brake Masters for life. I wouldnt trust them with an oil change let alone anything major. Good job Brake Masters you lost a quite loyal customer.

Excellent service!!! We had a lot of issues with my speedometer and it wasn’t working after they replaced my ABS module but Leo and Romeo (managers) made sure to do whatever it took to get my speedometer working, at their own expense in getting the parts and even additional diagnostic service thru the dealer, to get it fixed and were ethical and showed integrity in doing this all at their expense to do the right thing and repair it!!! That is a RARE thing these days!!!!!

Im VERY SATISFIED!March 2018:After years of repair from other local car care companies, Ive finally found a place I trust. Leo and Romeo have always welcomed me like a brother and have suggested the best options for my over 300K mile vehicle. Theyre efficient and strive to make sure Im happy. No one likes to spend money, but when I do at Brake Masters #159 I know my car has received the best workmanship possible. And, if something goes wrong they make sure its done right. Quick story: My wife likes another company down the street, whom she trusts and wants me to switch over. Years ago they lied to me once. When caught they didnt charge me for work/parts. Nice. I never took my car back. Now, I go to Brake Masters. When she needs her car repaired she tells me to go to so-n-so. Yes Maam. I never told her I take her car to Brake Masters. Should I?

They provide detailed estimates, call us promptly when any new problems are discovered, and they go to great lengths to work with us on affordable options for service. Though this is not a body shop, Romeo has gone the extra mile to make suggestions and help us with a few body fixes that the shop can handle. We really appreciate it! Jeff, the assistant manager, there was awesome! My van broke down and I had it towed to his shop about 30 min before they closed. Jeff and his team not only trouble shot the problem before they closed but Jeff stayed late with us so we could wait for our ride out of the hot Tucson sun. They even let my wife and I bring in or two dogs that we had. These guys are insanely fantastic! Ill only bring my car to them from now on.

Over the phone they said they would do a free estimate for alignment but when I get to the shop the guy at the desk throws a price at me without even looking at the car and when I let him know someone on the phone said they did free estimates the guy basically called me a liar and said he wouldnt help anyway because he is to busy .... must be nice to be so busy that you can treat customers like crap

You guys told me you could do a wheel alignment on my 71 Chevy pickup. I made an appointment, show promptly4 days later for my scheduled appointment and then you tell me you cant do it because you dont have the equipment for an older vehicle.Thanks for wasting my time!

I dropped the truck off for a check engine light and brake light., as well as an oil change. After several hours had passed, I called, only to be told that one needs an appointment for a diagnostic check, and they had checked on neither of my concerns and had made no diagnostic nor repairs. All they did was the oil change, and I lost a whole day without a vehicle, waiting for their call. They insisted that they had left me a message, which of course did not show up on my phone. They should not have accepted the car for a diagnostic, if they had no time to do the work. They also wanted to charge me way too much for my oil change when I checked out, more than twice the appropriate amount. Now I have a truck with a check engine that I cannot drive, and I cannot get my day back. Very disappointed.

Had done some front end work, had my wife take the car in for an alignment.She said it pulled. Then the passenger front tire blew, and it was very worn on the inside. I did a check with a string alignment. Drivers side front, 1/16th inch toe in. Great. Passenger side front, 3/4 inch toe out. No wonder car pulled and it was chewing the tire. Never again will I use these guys.

I can honestly say today was not what I expected. I arrived for my appointment early as usual. I stood at the counter maybe 4-5 minutes before I decided to have a seat. I sat for nearly 20 minutes, no one came out and asked me if I needed assistance, and yes they saw me. I am 6ft tall, kind of hard to miss. I have always been greated and welcomed upon entering, this is part of the reason I had been a customer for a few years. I was shocked at how quickly a manger serviced the customer entering the store after me with his coupon in hand. I think all customers should be treated the same regardless of ethinicity, gender, ect. The fact that I didnt receive the normal warm greating made everything that followed so much worse.

The alignment person was sick, I wasnt told until I arrived, and they wanted to reschedule me for the work week, then told me they didnt show an appointment for the work.

They gave me a price at one store, an stuck by that price at the store closer to my home.

I normally do my own brakes, but once in a while, especially when I think it may be time for new Calipers (which requires bleeding the brake lines) I will have the work done at a repair shop. My 2006 Saturn VUE AWD V6 was coming up on 89K Miles so I decided to try to find someone reputable and fair in the Northwest Tucson area who could do my brakes for me. It was especially important that I find someone who would treat me like I knew a thing or two about brakes myself and wouldnt try to sell me stuff I knew I didnt need, as Id had that experience once before. Jeff at Brake Masters really hit it out of the park. The business really respects its customers. The techs there all seemed talented and friendly. Jeff knew immediately what I wanted and what I needed, and there was no pressure to do any work I didnt need to have done. At several steps in the process I had choices laid out for me as to what I should or could choose to do to get my car roadworthy again. The work they did was top-shelf, the prices were fair as well. The warranty is good so Ill be back, as the parts are lifetime warranty and I can go back and pay for labor only to (for example) replace the pads, I wont have to buy the new pads.My only regret is that more businesses arent operated the way this Brake Masters shop is run. Thanks again to Jeff and the guys at Brake Masters, you guys rock!

Took my Z71 Silverado there to get an alignment. After two visits my truck is still not properly aligned (and I know it can be and does not have other issues). Im that fed up with them and all Brakemasters that I am ready to just bite the bullet and dish out more money at another, reputable mechanic?
