Heading north on Harvard, you might go right past this place. It’s in a strip mall without signage. If heading south, there is a nice mural on the side of the building. From outside looking in, the place looked under construction/remodel - the ladder leaning against the wall didn’t help.Once inside, they’ve got a table blocking the rest of the shop and you order right there. A handful of seats that you can use while you wait on an order. On recommendation, I went with the Dutch Crunch and it was tasty. Thick Turkey slices/chunks with bacon and potent Swiss, served on a chewy roll. It was accompanied with fresh home made sweet potato chips.
This place was great. I have read several reviews on them and was anxiously waiting to go try them. Growing up and living close to the area for 30 years I always support local businesses is the fair grounds area. Trenchers was a fantastic delicatessen. I had the Dutch crunch and my wife had a build your own on sourdough. Both sandwiches were stacked high with meat and had enough condiments to accent the sandwiches perfect, not over power or underwhelm. We tried all the cookies and some muffins while there too. They were all good as well. Half way through lunch while reading the menu we decided we want to come back and do breakfast as the pictures looked amazing. I personally will make this a top priority for a while to come try all the sandwiches and breakfast foods. I do a lot of traveling for work and always search out good delicatessens in different towns. Trenchers has set the bar for not only Tulsa, but several mid size towns around the tri-state area.
Amazing food, seriously. I know hunting for the menu is a little annoying, but this place has the best sandwhiches, gyros (?), and salads! Only patio seating, and you order at the window, for patrons in-person
Their sandwiches are great. Ive gotten the Dutch crunch twice and the ingredients taste fresh and delicious. The portion is huge. I can eat one half for lunch then the 2nd half for dinner. Its walk up outside to order and pick up right now.
Dutch crunch is possibly the best sandwich Ive ever eaten.
Cute place and a staple for local residents. Fun options for sandwiches with interesting bread choices. I didn’t try it but they had a Dutch crackle bread which I had never heard of before. The homemade chips are ugly, but super tasty. Definitely recommend giving a try. Sandwiches are large enough they can easily be split with a friend. The photo featured is just a half of a sandwich.
Owner is extremely rude for no reason. Talks down to employees in front of customers and acts like customers are an inconvenience when they come in. Plenty of other better delis around town. Perhaps if you don’t want to work with the public don’t own a business and sell it to someone who can do a better job.
The bread was not my favorite and the sauce was lacking, but oh my that meat is where its at. I definitely want to return and try some other menu items.
Purchased 2 sandwiches, a Cuban and a Double Deuce. Not sure how the Cuban was because I couldnt stay to eat lunch because my order rolled out after several other customers. There was no double-I didnt get ham. The egg salad had so much dressing it fell out of the sandwich. It was very salty with little flavor. I had to eat it open faced. After 1/2, I threw the rest away, along with the grease laden chips. I have pix if needed. I would have called to complain but it took me 4 tries to call in the order .Poor excuse for an $11 sandwich.
Terrible service. 3 people behind us received their food first. No kids menu but they suggested grilled cheese so we order 2 at $10 a piece only to open them both up to be solid burnt black on the flip side. Salad was decent but didnt give us utensils. Dutch crunch bread was just sourdough and soggy. Will not go back and certainly will not recommend. $45 for a terrible lunch.
Very nice people work here there food is good and there service is quick
Whenever I come back to Tulsa to visit, I go straight here from the airport and get some of the breakfast sandwiches. Best sandwiches, ever!!!
The sandwiches are dang good versions of sandwiches you could make at home! High quality ingredients, high quality food! I recommend the fruit salad and the pasta salad, as well. The pasta salad is sweet and tomato-ey, and the fruit salad is exactly why you want. Also, get the blt!
Great food. This is one of my go to spots in Tulsa. I’m staying away right now because they’re making you stand outside and order through a window. I’d normally give them 5 stars but this is dumb. 2 stars until they stop this nonsense.
My food had a hair in it, and the french toast was wet. Other that that, it was fine.
I love a great ruben sandwich, but this one was too salty. The turkey & Swiss was great. The service was perfect & Ill return
Hidden gem! Their breads are a crowd pleaser. I had the sourdough sandwich and my partner made her own with the crunchy bread. Both were amazing!
Tried this place for the first time today and I was super impressed. The food was prepared to order and made fresh. The meats were delicious and the bread (Dutch) was extremely good. It was a cross between a regular Italian hoagie and crusty bread. Very tasty. I went with a CYO sandwich with ham, turkey, and bacon with an add of garlic chicken topped with white cheddar, lettuce, tomato and avocado mayo. For a great price, you can add as many toppings as you want. That was incredible. I will be back. I recommend if you want a good sandwich in an atmosphere reminiscent of city style eats.
I appreciate the work that seemed to go into it but the chicken wrap thing was funky, just really disappointing
Absolutely the best place for a good sandwich! Healthy and great service !
Dont sleep on Trenchers, the house baked bread for the Dutch crunch is impeccable. I love the portions, the people that work there seem to be happy, and I think that usually means good management. I dont love Reubens but my wife says its one of the best shes ever had. They also are nice to my dog even though he was overly excited.
Cute little place with a large menu and delicious sandwiches. Seating is often crowded but its worth taking it to go!
Nope. Ruben sandwiches were a solid 3 stars...at best. Staff 2 stars for grumpy. I typically either write 5 star review or no review at all, but today I need to make an exception. There are much better options for sandwiches around Tulsa.
Staff has an attitude, expected to stand outside and wait for food, no signs indicating where to order or where your number will be called. 15-20 minute wait with no other customers waiting. Clearly someone told the staff they make a good sandwich so they feel they can have an attitude with locals.
Visited town armed with Google Maps in hand. Searched for epic sandwiches in Tulsa, Ok, and Trenchers came up. Went there and struggled to figure out which sandwich I would choose first. I chose the Coolio. Homemade bread, great mixture of meats, and just enough sauce that it does not drip all over the place. Homemade chips were homemade. I told the person helping me it was my first time, and she placed a menu in my bag and said, Youll be back. Gotta love it!
Actually very delicious. I actually really enjoyed their chocolate chip cookies.
If you are tired of the same boring sandwich shop in Tulsa you would like to try this place. Im a sandwich freak myself and in my humble opinion this is by far one of the best Deli sandwiches places in town. I thought I was in one of those New York City Deli. The people are very easy going and the ambiance it is like Seattle. Give it a try, you will see.
Delicious! Ive had the Reuben and Sourdough, both were great!! Brown sugar cookie was amazing. Great service too!:
A pillar of delicious vegan and vegetarian food in Tulsa. The tofu tawook is an incredibly wrap and their fresh-baked breads elevate every sandwich.
I loved the beet Reuben sandwich it’s the most delicious thing and the only way I would eat beet! My new fav sandwich place they bake the bread, homemade chips and pastries plus vegan options! Just amazed me
My sandwich was awesome! This was the first time I ate there and I will be back. The service was perfect and my order was spot on.
Great service, just a bit pricey
Vegetarian friendly. Good food. Especially their bread which they make themselves. Highly recommend!
Excellent sandwiches, great service, and proper covid precautions. I had the Ruben, and it was the perfect ratio of sourkraut, meat & bread. Gf had the Cuban, which was also excellent! Definitely ordering from here again.
This review is from a year ago, when I ate there last. I really enjoyed the sandwichs why it sucks I have to write this review. I ordered a rueben, my boyfriend and I waited between 15 and 20 minutes. The man making my sandwich stuck his unwashed and ungloved hand into vinegar based saurkrat. We requested to have my sandwich remade with the chef wearing gloves, this apparently was unreasonable. We were told the rueben meat was out, and we were treated with disdain for wanting our sandwich remade. Our money was refunded, but one of the managers gleefully told us oklahoma state low doesnt require gloves to be worn when making a sandwich.Again trenchers has great sandwichs but, their motto should be our employees dont wear gloves when making your sandwich, per Oklahoma law, we do the bare minimum
Great sandwich Definitely a 2 meal thing
This place is amazing. We were between a hot and cold sandwhich, persuaded to the Pastrami; which was both good, and bad. The good; well the sandwich of course! The bad; Ive come to the realization that I never had a real Pastrami sandwich until I came here.
It was a hot day, waiting in the covid-19 weather. We should have ordered ahead. And that is my advice, Order ahead until all this virus excitement is over. We stood on the patio and ordered our sandwiches, and it was a good 20 minute wait. So lesson learned. Now onto the food. The sandwich was good, the lettuce was crisp, the Tomato was fresh, the meat was meat. To be honest, I dont remember what I ordered. I cant say that the lady behind the window was very friendly, and very attentive. The prices were a bit up there, but not terribly so. It was a tasty thing, that much I remember, and my wife loved whatever it was she ordered. We will go back, because I hear they have the best Reuben in Tulsa. My advice though order ahead.
Great sandwiches.
Size matters and these sandwiches are huge.Vegans and carnivores will both be satisfied.Probably the best bread in town, so take a loaf home.
Food is good. Presentation is bad . Lack inconsistent. Depends who makes your order it can be good or can be bad .. its like playing slot at this place.
Really great local deli! Quick service and delicious sandwiches! The half Dutch Crunch with their homemade chips makes a perfect lunch! Yum!
I loved this place. Small deli, huge sandwiches. Great sense of humor. The French toast sandwich was great. So was the Reuben. Prices on the high side, but definitely worth it. Ill be back
Went on a Wednesday around lunch time. Had to wait about 10 minutes in line. No big deal, great delis get busy when people are hungry. I actually said to my husband who was worried about missing an appointment, It cant possibly take them 20 minutes to make 2 sandwiches. I was wrong. It took them 40 minutes AFTER we ordered! My husband ended up leaving to walk to his appointment, and I stuck around. Thats right, we were there for almost an hour for 2 over-priced sandwiches. My husband enjoyed his for the most part, but thats the only reason they got 2 stars. I couldnt even finish mine.
VERY Nasty no 🚻 or hand washing stations. + raw food= ground0 for the next Virus
I absolutely love Trenchers. The food is always delicious. My personal favorite is the sexy huevos sandwich.
Love this spot! Friendly service, good food, and a great vibe. Dont let the line scare you, its fast and worth it!
We got the Dutch Crunch and a Italian Roll, it was our 1st time and the last time we will ever eat there. The meat on both have hardly any taste, the whole thing was bad. The best thing about the whole order was the chips and the cookies.
Amazing food (hate the chops would give it 2 stars but the burger was a solid 8/5 stars
Ordered online ahead of time to bring sandwiches on a picnic and it was great! Huge sandwiches and their chips are delish. Will definitely be back.
First time here and not disappointed at all!! The food was fresh and tasty...the cookie was huge....all around a great visit.
Best sandwiches in Tulsa by far! Great cookies and chips too. Love this place!
This is probably one of the better sandwich spots in Tulsa. We made our own sandwiches. Werent disappointed. I do question hygiene related issues leaving all the cookies open next to the counter. I saw a menu fall on and several people talking/breathing right over it. The person I was with also remarked that there was no point using the tongs. Will go again. Highly recommend it.
The sandwich was a bloody mess, with all the meats and condiments falling out. The worst part; the chips. Holy cow....the worst thing Ive ever eaten. I took one bite and spit it out. It tasted like a burnt, bland, flavorless, fried cardboard toilet paper roll. And for the price, it is a definite NO.
Their hours specifically say they are open 10-3. I showed up at 2:45 to order a sandwich to go. There were other people sitting in there eating, but they turned us away and refused to serve us. Making some bogus claim about someone cutting their finger, but they still had 4 people working behind the counter. The food is good, but with such limited hours to begin with, to turn service away does not make for good customer service.
Long waits even when it seems slow, very aggressive cashier almost demanding tips, and my Italian sub was on wonder bread basically... (I didn’t ask for wonder bread) low quality experience. Jersey mikes is so much better even though it shouldn’t be.
I love Trenchers and eat there often ever since my office moved near it. The problem is the price, truly. Now, paying $9-10 for a sandwich seems ridiculous, but portion-wise I am often left with 1/4-1/2 a sandwich leftover. I would not inquire about their half sandwiches since it is about 75% the price for 50% the sandwich. The sandwiches themselves are delicious. The meats taste very fresh, the sauces are strong and the bread is perfectly firm. Accompanying the entree is by default chips made from sweet potatoes and other vegetables. I have friends that have complained about it not being potato or salty, so do not expect something like potato chips or french fries. There other sides taste great as well. Often tempting you at the cashier are freshly made cookies, which, again, are costly but taste very good. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is that most of the time the employees are not entirely friendly. I would not say they are ever mean, but it feels like they are there to do one job and nothing else. Conversing with customers is not their strong suit, and the price is a bit high for lunch. Other than that, delightful!
Always bring friends and family here when they come from out of town.Around 10 dollars gets you a pretty good sized sandwich and a batch of their house made chips.Pastrami sandwich is one of the best in town.
I love this place and the people running it. Zach is a great guy and I absolutely love it when the owner of the business is right there next to the employees working just as hard. That makes a successful business and these guys have nailed it... Not to mention everything is made in store (even the bread and potato chips)
Don’t waste your money on this.Soggy chips or they were super fried to the point you couldn’t eat them, and the Italian roll sandwich was ridiculously disappointing. When you have to put over a handful of basil on the sandwich to mask how bland and flavorless everything else is..... pathetic. Bread on the sandwich tasted stale.11$ for a subpar sandwich is outrageous.Spend your money elsewhere- there’s a lot of local businesses that actually care about quality of the product they serve.Oh, plus for this 11$ sandwich it took 15-20 minutes to make.... for cold pre sliced meat, bread, excessive basil, and premade tomato sauce.
Food is amazing! People are very nice and friendly. Place is very busy and fills up fast! Get there early!
Eaten there twice. 1st time had the Reuben, now my favorite Reuben. 2nd time had the chicken swizzle, now my favorite chicken sandwich. A+ and Bravo on being a diamond in the rough that is the restaurant business. Cant wait to have the other items. LOVE IT
Do it, this place is lit. One of my favorite lunch spots in town. Quality with personality.Im a pescatarian so usually get the Spicy Falafel or a Tuna Salad sandwich, both are dank AF. The bread is always fresh and tasty. The soups and sides never disappoint. Price is great for the high quality you get. The staff is friendly. Space is a little cozy for dining in.
Amazing menu. Fantastic staff. I called ahead and my order was ready when I got there. Kudos
Stopped here on our way to Chicago and we were blown away. Great tea, fresh and delicious. Perfectly crafted sandwiches with just the right flavor and spice. Sauces were great. Dave was hilarious and entertained us at a level that was equal with the artisan menu. Thanks guys
Great little deli! I had the Trencher (open face, braised pork sandwich) and it was delicious. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the mustard was a perfect compliment. All of the ingredients are high quality and fresh, the condiments were wonderful, and the bread was unbelievable! The wait was a little long and theres limited room to sit down, but it was worth it. The portions are huge, so dont be afraid to ask for a half order. This type of place, with quality ingredients and an almost skilled craftsman vibe, is becoming a rarity this day and age. Its really encouraging that a place like this is still thriving! If youve never been this place deserves your attention!
Amazing flavors and breads made in house. everything on their menu is amazing. very busy all the time, call ahead if your in a hurry. always tell people from outa town to check out this spot. One of Tulsas hidden gems for sure.pro tip, order their daily specialAlso THEIR LOBSTER ROLLS IN THE SPRING ARE FUEGO 🔥
Ron and I had lunch at Trenchers today. He had a Ruben...always wonderful and big enough for two! I didnt feel like meat so I had the succotash quiche and a side of potato salad. The quiche was awesome! And their lemonade (homemade like everything else) really hit the spot on this hot day.
Sandwich was AWESOME! 15$ For sandwich and drink. If you are comfortable with that, it is a great stop!
Great little deli hidden in a strip mall. Definitely try the Dutch Crunch (that bread!) or the Chicken Swizzle. Be prepared to wait, and seating is limited. Best to go early at lunchtime.
It is really good and definitely the best peanut butter cookie I have had in Tulsa. The only downside for me is it is very busy and shaped like a long narrow hallway. There really isnt anywhere to wait for your food and it can be hard to find a place to sit. I definitely wouldnt plan on trying to dine in if you have multiple small children or a handicapped person with you. There just isnt any room to navigate.
Great place. One of my favorites. No-one can do it like them
High quality food. The best sandwiches in Tulsa! And great customer service. My son loves the huevos sandwich and I love the homemade cookies and salads.
