Local cafe with friendly service, enjoyable ambience, good food, and flavorful coffee. The breakfast burrito is well-seasoned and not too salty. Accompanying side of salsa is a good compliment. Great atmosphere and convenient parking.

One of my favorite cafes in OC and we’ve been coming here for years. Huevos Rancheros is my favorite Mexican breakfast here. Food and drinks are good. The servers are nice and friendly but the male at the front counter who takes orders is always rude and super unfriendly. He doesn’t seem interested in the customer service and answering questions we ask. He kept looking at the screen avoiding eye contact that makes us want to leave. And also noticed that no one at the cafe wore a mask. :(

DONT DARE BRING ANY OUTSIDE FOOD HERE! My husband and I loved coming here for lunch. My sister decided to try it out and showed up with her husband and her 4 year old. She had a small meal (Happy Meal) for her little girl. There were two men that noticed it and made a big deal telling the owner THEY HAVE OUTSIDE FOOD!. repeated this twice outloud in Spanish and really made a big deal about it. So my sister asked if she could eat outside in their patio. That was a no. Then she asked about sitting at the tables they have outside on the sidewalk! They said no and suggested a park down the street. We respect rules. And whatever the their reason is for this is fine but its they way they went about it that was so upsetting. They lost customers and we will stop telling people about this place.

Whats there not to like about this hidden gem? The Mexican food that is not watered down. The service that is decent. The humor of the cashier (s), which could be misinterpreted as being stuck up. The restroom is clean, one of the nicest in the block. I had chicken quesadillas, and the chunky chicken with generous cheese made them rich. The pozole had a nice kick while the soup base was thick. The chilaquiles was crunchy and well balanced. I thought I was back in Baja because it was authentic. Dirty horchata woke me up and kept me awake all day. The coffee was pretty good, too.

Ive been coming here for years but wanted to write a review to counter all the negativity and virofascists who are freaking out over nothing.First of all, the owner had always been very cordial and nice. This is a family run business and Ive interacted with most of them and they are truly lovely people. If you have a problem with COVID or are scared then heres a novel idea...STAY HOME! Why bother going out only to complain and have a fit if you see things you dont like? All the COVID complaints and 1 star reviews are baseless and are clearly written by angry, bitter people who have nothing better to do than complain. The food here is TOP NOTCH, this is not an exaggeration. Theres a lot of options for Mexican food around but this place is truly special. I just wish they were open for dinner but breakfast, lunch and brunch are good enough for me. The chilaquiles here are the best chilaquiles Ive ever had period. The sauce is flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I always opt to add steak and few extra eggs on top. A word on the rice, my benchmark for any Mexican restaurant has always been the rice...because you know if the rice is good everything else will be and the rice here is as good as it gets. Keep an eye out for specials my favorite special is the Chile relleno. I consider myself a Chile relleno connoisseur and the relleno here is to die for (when they have it). The tacos al pastor, huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos are all tops.Again, its sad to see people badmouth a fine establishment over nothing but thats the world we live in now. If they dont like you, they will try and cancel you. El Camino cafe is a gem and I wish them well and will continue to support them now more than ever.

Recent reviews are right. The owner guy at the register is rude… Why not just hire a cashier or host if you don’t want that role? Also he really wouldn’t give us tap water to drink with our meal? That’s cool - there are tons of other places for us to try. Food was good but a little on the bland side.

My family and I have been going to this place for about 6 years now and we used to love it. Sadly, the owners attitude has completely changed over the years and he is extremely rude. We brought our Maltese dog with us and sat at the tables on the sidewalk and the owner came out yelling at us telling us there are no dogs allowed. We had no idea dogs werent allowed at the sidewalk tables and the way he yelled at our family was so disrespectful and uncalled for. This guy needs a serious attitude check. Get over yourself. This place has horrible customer service.I called in to order something that was on the google maps menu for this place. Apparently what I was ordering is not on their actual menu. Instead of informing me and giving me the chance to order something else the guy just hung up on me. I drove up there to see if I could order something in person & also to let management about how their employee handled the phone call. But instead of getting the manager they had me talk to some server lady who basically said we dont follow the google menu, are you going to want to order something. And basically brushed it off and still did not get the manager. I let her know that the situation was not good, especially because I was excited to try the food because it looked really good. Her response was it is really good. Im assuming they feel like it is okay for their employees to be jerks because their food looks good.

Wow! Their DIRTY HORCHATA blew my mind!! I just had to say this first!Customer service: I ordered on the phone, it was fast and easy. They didnt put me on hold, took my order with ease and thats it. Sometimes phone orders can be a nightmare but not here!Food: The food was good! I got a breakfast burrito and it was decent. I wish it had more ingredients other than eggs, potatoes and cheese. Sure, beans and rice come on the side but I like different items in my burrito if I have burrito intentions. My family enjoyed their meal, Huevos a la Mexicana and chilaquilles rojos .The chillaquilles were not spicy and had great flavor (although we prefer spicy) and the huevos a la Mexicana are tomatoey and delicious.Drinks: I got the dirty horchata and it was divine! Im a coffee connoisseur and I really enjoyed this horchata with a shot of expresso. It was creamy, not too sweet and light. My sister got cafe de olla and she mentioned it was a bit on the sweet side but then again we like bold, strong coffee so that might be up to preference of how sweet you like coffee. My other sister got the vanilla cappuccino and she LOVES it! Not too sweet and just the right amount of vanilla. I tasted all of these and I liked them all! Sure, I agree with my sister the cafe de olla was sweeter than Id like, but it had a good, rustic, bold flavor and you can smell the canela (cinnamon) which is what I love about a good cafe de olla. This was our first time eating from this cafe and we will for sure try other items in the future!

For me this is the best Mexican breakfast food in OC. Nothing else comes close to the flavor these guys out on the plate. Its simple traditional dishes but done really well. My go to is the Chilaquiles Hector (green salsa) with al pastor and a fried egg. As long as they are in business I will be eating that dish for the rest of my life. Cafe de olla is always amazing too. Best gem in Tustin.

Their dirty horchata is ok. The best dirty horchata (horchata with espresso) is still Zero degrees. Recently went today and the cashier had his mask on his chin while taking our order. Let it slide since it seems to be a mom an pop restaurant. He seems to be the dad. The guys (maybe sons) working the coffee and phone lines had no mask on. The mom had her mask below her nose. The only one we saw that had her mask on was the daughter, who brought us our food. Once again if that’s how you feel ok, but not cool when taking our order without a mask. Especially when you won’t give us water cups due to the pandemic but will charge $1 for a water bottle. Pretty contradictory. Apparently it makes money though, where convenient. The the chilaquiles were mild. My husband didn’t care for the enchiladas for they were overpriced just for cheese enchiladas (cotija cheese?). Their flan is still pretty good. But we will no longer visit this place.

The tortillas tasted fresh and my breakfast burrito was very tasty. The carne asada in my burrito was well seasoned, tender and easy to bite into. Also the home fries in the burrito were chunky and soft with melted cheese in every bite. The scrambled eggs in the burrito was good but not remarkable. My burrito came with a modest portion of rice and beans. The coffee is self serve but has free refills. The coffee tastes strong. Overall our first visit was a great experience. Its kinda on the pricey end, you can easily spend $35 on two entrees and two coffees. I have to go back and try the guac and chips. The chips looks like a fresh batch of chips for each order I saw arrive to other tables. The service was alright, unremarkable, and a general waitress came by to check if any tables needed anything. Try to sit outside of you can! Its a nice little spot in Old Town Tustin.

Iordered a steak burrito. I asked the employee if they cut out the grisal, the employee assured me that they do. The steak burrito I had very little steak in it and it was nearly all attached to larg pieces of gristle. An employee out to the patio and I cpncrrpmte him with my concern, hepointed to a nearby Trash can and told meafter useing the Trash I could come inside and talk with him, making me think that he would make some renumerratoon. When I went in to speak with him he just said we are not a fast food restaurant we do not refund money if you do not.likethe food.
