These are the Bernina experts in Texas. They have more custom dyed wool and quilting notions than anywhere. The customer service from the owner was thoughtful and kind. I would recommend A Nimble Thimble to anyone in Texas that is looking for Bernina sewing machines or Bernina sewing machine repairs.

By far my favorite local fabric shop! These ladies are so nice and I love their selection of fabric. They always have pretty seasonal patterns as well as amazing basics. Definitely makes finding new styles for my Etsy shop easy.

I walked into this store about 4 or 5 years ago. They are the most friendly helpful people, so much that I remembered them and when I needed a specific thread I drove 5 hours to get more thread. Too bad they were closed, however they are finding a way to get me the thread.

A Nimble Thimble is my favorite local quilting store. The employees are great, very friendly and they will let you browse as much as you like but are also very helpful when you are looking for something. The owner is very professional and nice. She is always willing to order special items for me if she can get them and then will hold them for me until I get there to pick them up. I love A Nimble Thimble. Its my happy place.

We came through Tyler to visit a couple of quilting stores and found this store to be fantastic. They have a great selection of fabrics including a full color wall, a section of batiks and a nice section of civil war replica fabric. I found some Australian printed fabric that I thought was very unique that I picked up, and also found some fabric to make some coasters for a friend. This store also does the pulled wool, which I do not know anything about, but it was beautiful and looks like something interesting to try.The staff here were very helpful and enjoyable to visit with.

After reading this review, please read the additional reviews and consider what people are saying about the owners lack of business ethics.Thank youThis business is an abundantly stocked crafters spending opportunity. Items stocked in this store are overpriced so I shop online. Their website should offer information about current sales. They should have more sales on their stocked items. They offer to order what you need but then you could order it yourself and save on the cost of the items and save travel expense.Be cautious about signing up for classes or activities. The store owner has a twisted sense of fairness when it comes to honoring consumer agreements. Her bottom line is influenced by profit; not customer service. She will twist contractual statements so that the agreed upon $5 fee becomes $10...but of course she justifies the fee through a broad smile and with a gracious voice. I observed her dealing with other customers and was perplexed at how those dear elderly ladies couldnt defend themselves against the owners toxic-honey demeanor but then it was my turn...so just saying...buyers beware...she must not be from Texas.

Stopped in here today - the owner was working as other staff were in class. It was a great experience - she was very, very helpful. I know they have a couple of other gals these days who are extremely nice as well, so if youve ever had a questionable experience, give it another shot. Their fabric selection is outstanding!

A Nimble Thimble looks like a store. In reality it is a community of fiber artists known for quilting and hooking rugs and embroidering and most of all...creating! The storepart provides the raw materials for us to exercise our creative muscles on, and a variety of classes and group gatherings to spur our imaginations. Three of the best things about A Nimble Thimble are the amazing array of cloth, yarn, and ideas for our use; the helpful staff and experienced teachers; and the fact that we are all beginners and experienced at the same time!!!

A couple of friends and I went to The Nimble Thimble today. My friends dont sew so they brought their e-readers with them, but one ended up visiting with a fabric hooking class and bought a kit to make a small rug and I had a great time picking out fabric from their wonderful selection and some patterns and tools, too. The staff was very helpful but also left me alone to browse to my hearts content. We even got a great lunch recommendation (The Potpourri House) which we enjoyed a lot. 3 thumbs up for this shop in Tyler, Ive been there twice now and it never disappoints. See you next time I make it to TX!

I took my sewing machine in for repair, 3 months later it still had not been looked at. The owner refused to take my calls and most of the staff continued making excuses as to why it wasnt fixed why I couldnt get a status on the repair why the owner refused to talk to me. I picked the machine up in the same condition I left it and will be taking it to a reputable place for repair. I will never darken their doorway again!

Horrible Customer ServiceA Nimble ThimbleWill never ever go there again!Went in to get some needles, told them brand, model number of machine (Singer 503A Slant-O-Matic) & what I intended to sew. They recommended some Schmetz needle for denim, $5.99Bought them, took one out of box tried to put them in machine, the head wouldnt fit. Compared it to the only needle I had, noticeable difference in head size. Put needle right back in box.Took my receipt, along with packaging back for refund, refused to return money! No return policy! Seriously! Only two days between purchase and attempt to return. Then the lady said I didnt tell her anything about the machine, only what I wanted to sew, which is false. Husband was with me and can verify all this.Granted its only $6, but its the principle!Guarantee, I will never be back!Guarantee, I will let anyone I know about this!

Had a bad experience with their customer service. Took our machine in for annual service, when they didnt have it completed by the promised time I complained and requested to speak to the owner to find out when our machine would be completed. The owner would not return my call or tell us when the machine was completed. After my formal complaint with the BBB she miss represented the circumstance on her response and informed us that we were not welcome in her store. We were members of her Block of the Month club. We are about 1/3 through the program and she has refused to allow us to return the merchandise and we are not allow to continue. Not a very mature owner/operator when it comes to customer service. If you machine needs service I recommend some other vendor.
