Great service and they do things the old fashioned way with pumping the gas for you and they even let you do it yourself. plus they have great prices on tires and oil changes and they hooked me up with so much for so little

They wouldnt let me pump my own gas. Wanted me to move my car. I go somewhere else. Guy was being super demanding. Dont have time for this. Geese just let me pump my gas and Ill be gone in 2 minutes

Typical car mechanic shop/employees.$20 per tire for a tire change. Best price in the city.Tire disposal of old tires fees is the worst price in the city at $8 per tire (employee Bill stated that service fee per tire disposal is $5 plus an extra $3 per tire because the oil from the tires get on their clothes,tools, and such) when I told him I was going to keep the tires he said we are charging $3 extra per tire anyways for an EMS or ETS fee is what he referred to the charge as.$119.00 and change for four tires to be changed and disposal of old tires.I figured they were pinching pennies due to the fact the big guy with glasses charged me $10 in tax for a 30-40 dollar oil change previously.They did work fast and get the tires changed in less than half an hour.Regardless of the add ons and extra fees, it still cost $10.00 less than most other shops.They also sell tires as well.

This place is historic established in 1929, it use to be a Texaco station. Now its a Shell station and they still pump your gas for you. They also offer oil changes. They customer service wasgreat on 01/25/2017 @6:00pm

Full service gas! Blast from the past! Love it

There are so few full service stations in business these days and I have had nothing but great service over the years. I have had a few tires plugged from nail holes in minutes and most recently replaced a full set of tires at a price equal to Costco. As a person of color I am surprised at the allegations of racism as this has not been my experience in any manner.

Wow its been so long since I have seen a full service gas station I didnt know there were any in this town. What a breath of fresh air. Nice to just see that someone believes in good ol fashion customer service.

My 12v port wasn’t working. Excellent service. Had it fixed in no time. It was a fuse I already knew that, I just didn’t want to deal w it. He did a thorough check of all my fuses and fixed it quickly. Nice old school service. Nice guys. Quick easy service. Thanks boys!

Today I went with my 80 year old friend who had dropped her car off for diagnosis, was told she had a blown head gasket that would cost $2,000 to repair or they could put a stop leak in the radiator with no guarantees.She chose to let them put a stop leak in the radiator they also installed a new thermostat and charged $391 for everything.When I told them they had a lot of nerve charging a little old lady that much money for something that should have cost less than $100 they got very defensive and I was ganged up on by two other employees a total of 3 who wanted to start a fight with me.This is the most despicable treatment that I can think of, taking advantage of the elderly and hard-working people of our community.Shame on you, University Place Shell station.

When I am really low on gas, this place is the most convenient to get to from my home. All the employees are friendly and helpful. Then having developed rheumatoid arthritis, I was unable to pump my own gas for 6 months. This gas station is the only place I know that has the service where an attendant pumps your gas for you. Thank you University Place Shell station!

The price on the sign is not the price at the pump. Shell worker wouldnt let me pay for my gas and when I got the receipt I got charged an extra $5 to let someone pump my gas. Scam artists.

They did my oil change pretty quick and good, were friendly, and also fixed my AC in an hour and it’s been working perfectly ever since. I would go here again. Two guys were working when I went (maxwell and Donny ) and they were both very friendly and had good customer service

This place is locally owned and run. The younger folks there are very social and are happy to help with any problems you may have. The mechanics know what they are doing.Reasons why I didnt give a 5 star. They dont sell plus fuel, and some of the staff smell of cigarette smoke, which is off putting considering they are talking to you right at your car window.Overall, Im happy with their service, and its my primary place to get fuel.

Full service is great, but expensive. Theyre closed on Sundays which is nice. Ive been writing checks for my gasoline for the last 15+ years. This morning my gas light was on so I stopped and they refused my check stating the numbers were too low. Huh? I guess dementia has kicked in and loyalty means nothing to them.

$10 to replace the stem on my radio flyer... REALLY! I could have just brought the wheel/tire in but had some trouble with the cotter clip... NO, they didnt even pull that out. NEVER TOOK THE WHEEL OFF. So that problem remains. Ya, I could have gone down the block and had it done for free... $10 is extreme and he knew it. Its a $0.50 part and 10 minutes. Get over yourselves. Customer lost for life of ???? $5. Great job!

I kinda like the idea of getting the full service but he didnt wipe the windows or anything plus the price on the sign was forty cents cheaper than the receipt. I dont know about that jazz. They should be wiping the windows, checkin your tire pressures, and have a bit of pep in their step right?

Im 9 months pregnant, going to pop any day, and i needed my tires filled and all of them werent doing anything but standing around and they wanted to charge me just for someone else to put air in my tires. Because its full service its labor really? I cant even tie my own shoes right now and they cant even help me out.

My tire was low and I made the mistake of asking the service guy to look at it. He said he couldn’t unless I bought gas there. I didn’t need any gas. He then told me there was free air on the side of the building. I asked to borrow a tire gauge because the one attached was broken. The serviceman refused. He said I had to purchase one because he would never make any money if he lent them out. I seriously doubt one tire gauge is going to effect his daily profits. So incredibly rude. This Shell station is on the corner of 40th and Bridgeport.

I bought my son a car for his 16th Birthday, the tires needed air so we went to the full service island. I bought gas and asked the young man helping us to show my son how to check tire pressure, how much air to put in, and how to put air in the tires. He was very nice and showed my son how to do this, he was GREAT! The problem was his boss yelling HURRY UP, HURRY UP, HURRY UP saturdays are busy, people are waiting (there was 1 car waiting)!!!! This was no less than 10 times in the less than 10 minutes i was waiting. What a ridiculous experience and embarrassment for this young man helping us.

They changed my oil yesterday, 1/3/17. Although the scrape on my tires sidewall was already there, their technician Jim poked these two small holes in my passenger tires near the scrape to ensure it was visibly leaking and to try to sell me a used tire.. I just bought these in April. Ive known about the scrape for months now via Les Schwab and Ive still driven on this tire with no issues, but randomly I come out to my car with a flat tire today, the exact day after these guys touched it? I dont think so. I called and asked about it and he lied to me saying he knew nothing. Read the other reviews if you dont believe me- hes apparently done the same to other people too

After being treated like absolute CRAP at the gas station i would normally fill up at (a shame, cuz its right near my work) I found steves shell, and I love it. The guys are always friendly and happy to fill my truck with propane.I will admit, I was frustrated that I couldnt get my truck filled in the evening, because the boys they have working at that time of day, dont know which extensions to use in order to fill a truck with propane. So I have to schedule a special trip to the gas station when Im not working. If they fixed that problem, I would definitely give 5 stars [:

My Grandchildrens Dad and my Grandkids broke down on 40th and Bridgeport today (the alternator went out in their van). Aharon pushed the van through the intersection to the Shell gas station on 40th. The jerks that work there told him he couldnt park there, so he pushed it farther (towards the back of the station). I came and picked up the kids and the workers still harrassed him. As he and a friend were putting the new alternator in the jerks that work there told them they needed to leave AGAIN. They said they were almost done and the guys that work there said we can do this the easy way or the hard way! Aharon and his friend were like what the hell (his friend actually said what is the hard way)! So the guys called the cops ( I guess that was their hard way), because they were repairing the van on their property. They ended up pushing the van over to the old Captain Nemos property and the police officer gave Aharon a ride home. Thank God for nice Pierce County Sherriff Officers! They did get the van repaired and home, but it took about an hour and a half and I guess that is way too long too be on the Shell gas stations property! I am all for supporting local small businesses, but in this case I Will NEVER use that Shell gas station and will NEVER recommend that anyone uses the services at the Shell Gas station on 40th and Bridgeport. Took my 08 Acura MDX in for an oil change and transmission flush. They had it done in the amount of time promised and did a complementary inspection. Topped off the anit-freeze and changed the air filter while they were at it. The price seem fair compared to firestone and jiffylube. The employees seemed friendly and cutious. Bottom line, Id use them again.
