Dr Kim performed an unnecessary eye exam and charged my Humana account for the procedure. He also performed a glaucoma field test. Has refused to give me the results. And he also incorrectly charged my Humana account for the procedure. It is supposed to be free. So I got charged incorrectly for $100 in copay and never received any results. A complete waste of time and incompetence.
Ive now had 2 very poor experiences with Vancouver eye care. The first was horrible customer service by a female sales person. She was rude and demeaning. I had paid for a pair of glasses that were incorrect. When I returned with glasses and she had to fix the issue, she became rude and appeared inconvenienced to have to help me. She stated she was doing a courtesy for me, even though I paid for the glasses. The second one happened today. I had a yearly exam last October, then a few days later called and made an appointment for a contact lens fitting. After waiting nearly two months for my appointment, I went in today for the fitting. The technician began doing another yearly exam. I stopped her and told her this was to be a contact lens appointment. She stated she has it as a yearly exam, even though she could see I just had one. The appointment desk messed up the appointment, and now, there are no contact lens appointments in the foreseeable future. They said they will have to call me when one is available. I will never return to Vancouver eye care and CAN NOT recommend them to anyone. Stay clear people.
I will not use them again. I understand with Covid things take longer, but after waiting 2+ months to get in, it took another 3 weeks to get an appointment for a fitting. Then they told me it was between $50 and $65 for the fitting (from two different offices). So when I paid the bill it was $50 plus another $20 they said for my co-pay. Then they sent me a bill for an additional $50. When I called them on it, they said they quoted me wrong. So $120 for a contact fitting.
I have been a patient for several years and have always received great care. Most recently, I was seen last week for an urgent situation. They were quick to get me an appointment for the same day. Each person I encountered was professional and caring. The MD did a careful job with patient education and made sure my questions were answered completely.
I picked Vancouver Eye Care randomly and had an initial consultation and diagnosis for a cyst on my eyelid. Then I read the online reviews and was pretty concerned because a fair number of older reviews were negative (the more recent ones seemed positive, however). Not being one to take chances with my health, I canceled my appointment to have the cyst removed, figuring Id find another doctor. That day, I received a call from Pam, who I believe is the practice manager, who was following up to find out what my issues were and why I had canceled. She was professional yet personable, and told me that she was really happy when she found Dr. Chavez because of his excellent surgical skills. I decided to give him a try, and I am very happy that I did. I had a really good experience here, from staff to doctor to management, and thus I would not hesitate to recommend Vancouver Eye Clinic. I felt like they actually cared about my business (a rare feeling these days). Even though I am a poor patient -- I get very nervous -- I felt like I was in good hands throughout.
Dr. Shauyene and the staff are outstanding. Ive always been very nervous about anyone touching my eyes. I have a hard time administering eye drops to my own eyes but the friendliness and professionalism of everyone prior to my surgery put me at ease. The surgery results came out better than I had hoped.Joe: Ill try your coffee next time.
It has taken a couple of months to clear all the hurdles involved in lifting my eyelids, but Dr. Chavez and his staff -- Yulia and Joe, but really everyone from the receptionist on -- made me welcome and relaxed. Very user-friendly atmosphere. The healing process is almost complete, the results are terrific, the care was outstanding and I am happy with the whole process.
I recently had Cataract surgery and everyone from the schedulers up to the Dr. Hsieh are so nice and friendly. They explained every step of my process very thoroughly and it helped ease my anxiety of having surgery.
I came in on Thursday and was the 1st patient. My appointment was at 7:45 and wasnt seen until 8:40. When I asked what was taking so long the tech told me Dr. Chavez didnt get in until 8:30. What really upset me is after waiting all that time just siting in a room waiting, was when he came in he was extremely rude and dismissive. Like I was intruding on his day! I came in with two issues and left with two issues. He didnt listen to me while I was explaining to him what was going on. He didnt ask me, just came in the room with the information his assistant gave him. When I insisted on what I was feeling and even showed him a video close up of the problem, which he also dismissed, he said to come back and for me to try and aggravate my eye next time before the appointment. If he was in the room ten minutes, which I dont think he was, 3 of those he actually talked to me. He had a whole lot of attitude.
I really like Dr. Chavez...he is caring and makes you feel like you can Trust him will all your Eye Care Issues...even though he looks like he is only 20 yrs. Old. LOL Maybe it is just because I am Old that he seems so young.I just really like the entire Staff at Vancouver Eye Clinic and they always treat me so cordially.Blessings,Peggy Smith
Dr. Hsieh explains in great detail why a procedure may be necessary and how it can help to make things better- vision wise. Her keen ability to present options, while not limiting your understanding of them have helped to alleviate my fears. She listens to my concerns and offer solutions that are helpful in arriving at a decision. I appreciate her patience, professionalism, and am grateful for the success of my most recent cataract surgery. For someone who has a myriad of issues where my vision is concerned, I can definitely rely on Dr. Hsieh to provide the best care possible.
I have been going to Vancouver Eye Care for several years so have had care from many of the practitioners . Dr.Chavez is now my primary care giver. I was very pleased that he is not only an Ophthalmologist but also certified as a Plastic Surgeon so when I had surgery on my eyes, I felt quite comfortable. I would highly recommend this Dr. He is knowledgable and professional but also personable.
I have been seeing Dr. Hsieh for almost two years. She is very professional and thorough. I never feel rushed and she answers all my questions fully. I am very confident in her abilities and would highly recommend her.
Completely unacceptable service. My wife and kids showed up at 1:45 for a 2:00 appointment. They were put into a waiting room and didnt see the doctor until 3:30. The reception staff was rude and argued with me when I told them that 90 minutes was unacceptable--according to them its normal for a regular eye exam to take 1-2 hours which I know from experience is ridiculous. Why bother scheduling an appointment if they make no effort see you at your appointment time? Because they took so long my kids did not get to pick out their frames and they caused me to miss my next appointment. We are completely dissatisfied and will not be back.
The care at Vancover Eye Care is very good, however the waiting time is a little extreme. I didnt see the Doctor until one and a half hours after my scheduled appointment. Recommend you take a book.
I have have seen Dr Clayton for several yeas now and she is very profesional and caring as well. I highly recommend her. She also treated my elderly mother with respect and eased her fears when she needed surgery.
Dr Clayton is not compassionate when giving a probable diagnosis. Would not use her. The clinic was nice.
I showed up for an 8:20am appt for my 5 year old, and they didnt see him until 9:15 then had us in the room until 11!!!! They didnt even do anything that whole time..such a waste of time, very disappointed.
Had to visit Vancouver Eye Care with eye infection. Was referred from Urgent Care. The Dr was great. She understood my condition for getting the condition fixed.
I saw Dr. Chavez for the first time yesterday for a corneal abrasion. I found him to be very well informed, kind and professional. The staff at Vancouver Eyecare were all friendly, welcoming and eager to help. I will definately recommend them highly.
Very satisfied with our visit this afternoon with Dr. Yoon! Great staff!
UPDATE.... As time went by I feel like the communication was lacking and I no longer go to Dr Hsieh. Although, I still stand by her qualifications of being a good doctor. ......... Hsieh conducts a very professional way about herself. My first impression was awkward because of a lack of conversation, but she has proven to me she is a great eye doctor and one I feel confident to have as my doctor. I highly recommend Dr Hsieh. She will be there for you when you need her most!!
Dr. Hsieh takes great care of me and my wife Cathy and we are glad we have her in our corner
This entire group of physicians and employees are WONDERFUL. They provide everything you could possibly need in eye care. Thank you Doctor Shauyene Hsieh!!!
Dr. Clayton is the best person to trust your eyes-to!
My review used to be a 2 star, but Im changing it to 4. I would change it to a 5 because of Dr. Hizeilman (Im sure I butchered the spelling of her name), but I did still have a really bad experience with the previous Dr I saw, Dr. Shay, who was quite rude and short with me and told me here was nothing wrong with my vision, even though there clearly was.The second reason for the 4 stars is that heir lenses are super expensive. Without frames, the total cost was almost $600 for two pairs. Its less than half for the exact same lenses at Walmart. Before seeing Dr. Hizeilman, I did not want to continue going to this place for eye Care. But I went in for a glasses recheck and saw her, and she was amazing. She was super friendly, she obviously cared about figuring out what was going on with my eyes, and she didnt mind my 8 month old being in the room--she actually even talked to her and played with her a little. After seeing 3 different doctors who could not figure out what was going on with my eyes, Dr. Hizeilman figured it out in a re-check apt. (it was my first time seeing her). She asked me a bunch of questions and then tried a bunch of tests that Ive never done before. And she found that I apparently have a pretty high case of convergence insufficiency, which no other Dr. looked for. It explains everything, and I FINALLY know whats going on with my eyes, so I was really thankful for Dr. Hizeilman with her experience, her friendliness and the time she took. And even more than that, she was very helpful in trying to make sure that I get treatment as soon as possible, and has been so nice on her help with that. So, of you go here and see Dr. Hizeilman, youll get 5 star care for sure; shes awesome.
I went in to have an inflammation taken care of and It was, very nicely. Thanks Dr. Chavez
Where do I start... Ist I called I said I needed new glasses and if they accept my insurance. They said yes and made my appointment. Which was at 9am I’m sure they forgot about me until I stepped out of my room, they said I was next..... a hour and 40 minutes later the doctor came in... Then come to find out they don’t take my insurance for the glasses..
Ive been seeing Dr. Shauyene Hsieh, Vancouver Eye Clinic, for over two years. This doctor is very professional in her approach and patient care during office visits and follow ups. She has completed successful surgery on both my eyes and been my doctor of choice before and after the surgeries. My eyesight is now 20/20 thanks to Dr. Hsieh. Her office is clean and organized. Her staff are knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Her wait times are minimal for the industry. I would highly recommend Dr.Hsieh based on my personal experience.Review by Al Anderson
Dr.Hsieh VERY NICE Dr. my husband will be in good hands...just saw Dr. Hsieh for pre-op appt. Rich will be having his first cataract surgery in two weeks.. he feels very confident that Dr. will do an excellent job ...Staff very thorough...now for the waiting...Excellent results from first cataract...just had second...and so far no problems...we both feel that Dr. Hsieh is an excellent physician...thorough professional and trustworthy....thank you to Dr. and her great staff...
Mauricio R. Chavez is a great eye doctor and would highly recommend him !!
I was very pleased to have found Dr. Fries, his clinic and staff were courteous and helpful. I will be telling all my family and friends
I would give 0 stars if that was a option!! This place had rude and unprofessional staff all around! You walk in they a rude when they greet you, then they take you back and the medical assistant reeks of cigarettes, tries to get your prescription but cant figure out the machine! They she just gives the highest dosage of dilation drops before any exam is performed. Then the doctor comes in and is confused by it but still does the exam. My poor daughter who is 5 was given a -8.50 prescription. We have gone to other eye doctors and no one has given us a prescription like that. Got second opinion and she is -0.25. I called the billing department but they already charged out for glasses and exam. Would not refund anything. I never ordered glasses, not to mention the office manager hung up on me. They should be shut down for malpractice! Dont go here unless you want the wrong prescription!
They bill for procedures they do not perform then fight you every step of the way to get them removed.
Took my son there when he was 2 and they were absolutely horrible with him,He is autistic and they did not have the patience at all,Would never take my son there again..worst experience for us all :(
Excellent friendly staff.
Professional and helpful.
Friendly and professional staff.
