They always say never to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. And the Virginia Beach Farmers market is built pretty well to help make that rule easy to follow. There are three dining facilities on premises. The Princess Anne County Grill being the full service diner with excellent prices and portion sizes does a good job of sating any initial hunger before you walk the circuit of local vendors and farmers. Additionally there is also a Bakery and Ice Creamery on site as well. A classic butcher/deli in the market can sell you the meats for your dinner, as well as farmers selling vegetables in season, there is a fine selection of local jams, jellies, sauces, honeys, ciders, and juices all made and sourced locally for comparable prices to some of the larger chains in the area.
VABCH Farmers Market is great! Something for everyone!! Restaurant, several farm stands, meat market with exotic meats, florist, gift shoppe, fish monger, & bakery!!Behind the main stores is a great childrens learning garden complete with chickens!!

The carnival rides and games are Nice for the little ones. Even I enjoyed one big girl ride! The produce there looks good - a bit pricey. Started an herb garden with affordable starter plants tho! Very nice proprietor- can’t remember her Booth. She sells out of stuff fast because she is popular. Buy it when you see it. My basil was gone when I came back. Tried the purple but it didn’t make it. Chives, Italian parsley and oregano going strong.
Went mostly for ice cream and that was great.Looks well set up, but it was late in the day so couldnt tell if all stands are occupied. If so, I would say to give it a try!
Really cool place takes you back to simple times loved the bakery!!!! Next time gonna buy camel meat at the butcher shop😬🤯. Only one place I walked past didnt accept card everywhere else took card.
Pumpkins are out! I did find some yellow squash but corn season is over, darn!! I did find some at the Creekmore stand though. Lady was shelling lima beans.I forgot to drop by Gillys Creamery but then the pumpkin ice cream doesnt come out until October. Hope it is true this year.Pumpkin and butter pecan on a waffle, cant wait for October!!!
This market could offer so much more by way of farm to table, and original crafts creators. Its basically small established grocery produce markets and a butchers counter. The property is clean and has plenty of parking. I enjoyed the garden areas supported by local master gardeners.
My husband and I would take our daughter’s (then toddlers) often when we lived in Chesapeake (19 year’s ago) and it was/is truly one the cutest little Farmers Markets around. The Butcher Shop and Produce Stands were out of this world! Can’t wait to visit again someday soon.
Stopped at Gillys creamery and picked some delicious ice cream for a banana split.

Wonderful selection veggies fresh from farm. Baked goodies and Amish bake shop with fresh bread right out of oven and sweets to die for!! Worth a 20 min ride no question!!
Local honey, plants for home garden, and delicious vegetables and fruits. Always one of my favorite places. The exhibit gardens and smaller gardens gave me wonderful ideas. It was also great watching all the butterflies and the fowl in the back garden. A good day made better. Thank you VBFM
Great place to get fresh produce. The ladies at Creek more are an absolute pleasure to deal with. They always have excellent produce. Have gone back to them many time when Im in the area

I love this farmer’s market. It is my favorite in Hampton Roads. We go here several times a year to get steaks from the butcher shop and sometimes buy produce, pottery, baked goods, ice cream, and gifts for friends and family from the specialty shops. This is a great location and it has plenty of parking inside the circle of the farmer’s market and behind the stores. They have a public restroom and a diner as well. It is shaded as well so that helps a little during the summer time for the sunny days and the winter time if the wind is really chilly. Everyone that works here is friendly (all the shops). They are helpful as well trying to make sure you are finding what you are looking for, if they have it. There are some great prices/deals too especially at the places we frequent here and love the most – amish bake shoppe, butcher shop, and the moosewood creek store (pottery). We can’t wait to go back again.

Its Manager and staff work really hard to keep this place just amazing and unique as it is. Just go there! Youll find everything and even more! Fresh local produce, absolutely amazing food, even homemade ice cream!...seafood, all kind of handcrafted stuff like candles, soap, jewelry and more! So natural and pleasant to see and touch😍Im not even talking about all sorts of festivals they organize!I wish we would live closer to Virginia to visit the market every weekend 😩 we miss you guys!

Lots of interesting shops, great produce, a butcher and fresh seafood. Also tons of interesting varieties of honey, salsa, preserves and so much more. And ice cream! And a bakery! If you go there and cant find anything you want, youre not trying.
Nothing more fun than a farmers market. Fresh produce. Great selection of quality plants and herbs for gardening at good prices. Also has a diner and local ice creamery.
This was a nice little farmers market that seems to have better selections of products once the weather gets warmer. There were a few vendors open for business and the items for sale were terrific to look at. We did stumble across a great tiny dinner in the farmers market and had an outstanding meal.

A variety of shops (most open air) selling produce, plants, crafts, etc...There is a small fair ground with carnival rides in the spring and fall.
Yesterday was my first time coming to this farmers market and it was a pretty good experience. My biggest fear was that they wouldnt have much variety and it wouldnt be worth the hype,but it was okay.Positives- they have a decent selection of fruits and veggies for you to choose from like tomatoes, cucumbers,onion, kale,pineapple,apples,avacados,etc. It depends on the time of year you go.Negative-If you are Black I HIGHLY suggest you go with someone you know. I felt like as I was walking alone many people were staring, and looking at me with every move I made. I felt Very uncomfortable and wouldnt suggest a minority going alone...thats all I got to say. Some of the vendors would open up and talk to certain customers and then rush me out if I wanted to make a purchase. Hopefully this helps someone moving forward because I just moved to Chesapeake myself a few months ago.
Somewhat disappointing. Half of the vendors were closed. Couldnt get the produce we wanted.

Love love love this farmers market for the variety of herbs and seedlings. Much better selection and more bang for your buck than the box stores. Got a flat full of varieties I have been looking for even hard to find ones like Lemon grass, purple basil, variegated and Pineapple sage. 1.99 for a 3 pack and I got a huge Rosemary for 6.99, so made herb pots for a fraction of the price. Have enjoyed the master gardeners plant sales in years past and they keep them going.

Last time I went I took my 9 year old grandson with me and we had a wonderful time! I believe it was on the first Saturday this past December. Lots of vendors were set up outside. It was pretty chilly outside and the first place we went was to a lady vendor who made scarves and caps. My grandson got a scarf in shades of brown with a brown cap to match. I got a cream colored scarf to wrap around my neck. We took time out to eat lunch and then have some ice cream. We had a really great time!

Love going to the Virginia Beach Farmers Market! Lots to see and look at. You can get fresh vegetables and fruits that are delicious. One of my favorite stores sells jewelry and I have gotten many beautiful necklaces and earrings there. The ice cream store is always a treat with a good variety of ice cream flavors. There are two restaurants to eat at and both are good for a quick bite and are reasonably priced. There is an Amish store that has homemade desserts like pies and cookies for sale that are yummy. They also sell homemade furniture there. I have taken my grandson when they have a carnival there and he loves going on all the rides. If you havent been to the Farmers Market you should definitely go! It makes for an enjoyable day!
