Here is the rust colored water that came out of my pickup they did work on. I provided them with new coolant and a new thermostat and they didn’t use either of them. They filled it with water and any mechanic will tell you that if you’re cars engine block is cast iron which mine is it will rust if you put only water in it and here are the pictures to prove it. 2nd picture is the thermostat that had failed due to the rust build up in the coolant system. So to answer advanced auto parts question. Yah I found the problem it’s incompetence on you’re shop and the mechanics that work there. And yes I fixed it myself for about $30

Great crew. Been here a few times and they always get the job done. This time around they fixed some faulty emission switches and my ac fan, which wildlife decided to nest in. They fixed it up real nice and noted some other work Id need done sooner rather than later to keep the car running optimally.

This is my second time having my 1991 Honda CRX repaired here and both times I’ve been able to feel that the work being done to me car is trustworthy. Recently my car was not able to pass smog and they were able to do repairs and re-test my car and get it smog certified, and they were also very helpful with establishing a payment plan for the costs of the repairs on my car. Definitely reliable and trustworthy work.

Avoid this place. You go in for 1 thing and you leave paying for 10 things. These guys just “find” things wrong with the car just so they could charge you/rob you.Way too expensive, they tell you you are getting a good deal, but in reality you are paying way more than you should.I got my front axle replaced and they put in the wrong seal. So the axle was still leaking and I had to take it back in to get it redone .They messed up my steering, the steering wheel makes a clicking noise now. And my car rolls to the right .This place is horrible. The owners never take responsibility. I regret going hereAlso they take forever with your car, good luck getting to work

I feel as though they get you in for a service and then search for other problems trying to make a quick buck. They will use your car to get parts or god knows what else as a “test drive”. First time have I heard that they need to test drive after an oil change. I am most upset about my oil light coming on after it being changed, after back and fourth I was finally granted my money to take it else where. I don’t think they mean harm, but being a woman I wouldn’t refer another woman here. I appreciate the refund I am still taken back by their customer service.

After change the valve cover gasket and spark plugs on my 2010 ford scape with this guys, the check engine light turn on indicating miss fire in two cylinders, I call this guy and told me that it will check it out and that if the spark plug is ok I have to pay $150 for the inspection, so guess what, I paying $150 and refusing for the fix and not paying 350 ....When I got my car back the light as been off since then....? Any guess..and my $150? (They have the chance to fix theyre miss take )............ Im a honest person and did not change any thing ..what it makes me mad is that you were bugging me to the point I accepted to pay $800 and on top of that I have to pay $150 for you to inspect some thing that now as been ok since you touch it for the second time...next time make sure all connector make the click !! I love my city! And you need to improve more

They had my vehicle for weeks before they looked into the repair. I requested a quote to have an engine light fixed. I had brought it in two times previously. They charged me $1500 and $1700 but the engine light still came on. They quoted me $ 2100 to replace the check engine light on the third time I brought it back. I declined the repair and told Bo the owner I would take the care to the Mercedes dealer instead. We agreed I would pick up my vehicle on Tuesday. When I got to the shop he had done the repair and refused to return my vehicle unless I paid the $2100. I had to take him to court to get my vehicle back. This shop is terribly dishonest. I checked with Mercedes and they could have replaced the sensor for a tenth of what Advanced Auto in Vista wanted to charge me.

If I could give zero stars I would. Took my car in and they didnt fix the problem even misdiagnosed my car issue and I bought a brand new replacement part that wasnt needed. They told me they tried but couldnt fix my car after 3 days.Took to the dealer same day and they found the problem due to a bad ground wire inside the bumper. The dealer told me that the replacement part that advance auto installed wasnt needed at all lolOther than that I will say that they appeared honest and hard working with fair prices for most basic things. Although they actually charged me a little more than the dealer charged me, but didnt fix my problem. Just wasted my time and about 400 bucks.FYI, dont take this review to hard. I just want to give people a honest heads up from my experience. Im not into bashing local businesses like advanced Auto. I think my car situation was just difficult for them to handle.LONG STORY SHORT, THEY OVER PROMISED AND FAILED TO DELIVER.

I have been going to Bos shop since it used to be a small shop in South Vista, and I have yet to have any issues. Ive taken 3 different cars, and Bo has always been honest and upfront with reasonable and competitive prices. Ive never felt forced to do any other work than what was intended, and I havent had any jobs that were done incorrectly or ever caused me to return to re-do the job. I did have a battery that died prematurely, and it was replaced free of charge due to it still being under warranty, but thats pretty much it. Ive taken my 1997 Acura Integra, my 2001 Tahoe, and my 2007 Acura TL to this shop all with no issues. Keep up the good work guys!

On May 3rd, 2019 I went to Advanced Auto Repair and spoke with Bo, the manager. I went in with the parts I needed installed ready to pay labor fees as I had already ran a diagnostics on this much older vehicle and I relayed to him I am watching on how much more to invest in it. The check engine light had came on, I ran a diagnostics and brought in a set of spark plugs, ignition wire set, and fuel filter to be replaced, the labor I was requesting would cost a total of $179 + tax. He proceeded to say he can install the parts as requested, but insisted it would be better if he could run a full diagnostics to get to the root of the problem to take care of the check engine light. It would cost $112 to run the check but if I decided to have him do the work he would remove that fee. I was to expect a call on the results and he went on to explain his service guarantee and the warranty of his work confidently. He stood firm on how he wanted to make sure it all got done properly and not have the check engine light go on again,so I could be a returning customer therefore he had to examine it himself. On the call back he notified me I need a fuel injector cleaning kit, a new ignition coil pack, and he was going to install the 3 parts I had brought in totaling $448. Per our initial conversation, this work would not only take care of the check engine light but his service was also guaranteed with warranty on the parts. A few days later the check engine light came back on, I notified Bo, so he said to bring it back in. I now needed a fuel injector replacement that would cost an additional $332!!! The original work I was sold on his guarantee and persistence on getting to the root of the problem (which he obviously didnt do) and now when asking if this new found issue would fix the vehicle his response was the he hoped it would anything can happen, but was unsure now! Entirely different tone then his confident original sales pitch.

Beautiful job✨✨✨ Bo got a major seven day job done in 3 days in the right side panel which had caught the edge of some concrete on a low driveway in 2015. I’m now proud to be in my car for the first time one 5 years thanks guys I love it!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Professional and courteous. I came across Advanced Auto on yelp. Very good reviews and I can see why. I sought multiple repairs for my 98 Lexus. They were the only shop willing to see me the same day every time and despite how busy they were, they got to my car quickly. The owner ran me through repairs, even sending photos and taking me to look at the car and walk me through what was done each time. He was very upfront about costs for each part as well as labor. I felt I was treated fairly and respectfully as a woman which can sometimes be very hard. When my car broke down on the road all I had to do was call and they sent a tow out and gave me an awesome discount for the price, not to mention a free loaner car! I havent come across any other shop that does this. The owner is honest and upfront, willing to negotiate and give you a good deal . He even fixed my petrol pump door the same day and for free. No strings. A good mechanic is a needle in a haystack. Glad we found one!

This group of men are all studs! Give them ur key and let them do the rest. I wish they had locations in San Diego but even a 50 minute drive make it all well worth it. Cant help but feel taken advantage of. Got my brakes worked on Saturday, they did it in 1 day which was awesome. New pads and rotors resurfaced (was recommended). Picked it up right as they were closing and on the way home I felt a shudder when braking, key indicator something is wrong with the rotors. They were closed and I couldnt contact them till Monday, I called Monday and they said the brakes need to be broken in. I drive it a few more days, same shudder. I call and take it back. They tell me the rotors are bad, the truck is too heavy duty and rotors needed to be replaced and cant be resurfaced again Ensured me that their mechanics make 0 mistakes, not their fault, 15 years of experience and never make a mistake. If you didnt make a mistake then my standard Ram 1500 must be really heavy duty to cause perfectly resurfaced rotors to shudder driving off your lot. 20 feet must really be hard on newly resurfaced rotors, and frankly Im surprised the 15 year technician said it was good after driving it himself. I get mistakes and errors happen, nothing is perfect so dont claim to be, but man up and own your mistakes. Sure they discounted the new rotors and waved the labor but I owned your mistake with the extra $300+ for work you guarantee is done perfect.

I had a ton of issues with my 2001 Toyota Avalon and Kris from Advanced Auto spent probably 6 hours of time either on the phone or texting me about what was being done. Im just a college student who knows nothing about cars but his explanations helped reassure me of how severe the issues were and educated me about a subject I should really know about. Ive taken my car to multiple mechanics for the two years Ive had it and none were able to find the root of the problem like Advanced Auto did. They are honest and pay attention to detail exceptionally well and even though I live in Encinitas I guess Ill be having to drive to Vista from now on!

This place was very profrssional. Neat chairs and wall art. Nothing hidden and they were reasonably timed for what I needed done. Asked for an oil change and for them figure out why my brakes wouldnt shut up, and didnt get hassled on price or labor. Told me front was fine and only needed the back brakes (didnt try to lie for more money). Even let me see the old brakes taken off. I absolutely recommend. They made me feel like family.

I don’t usually point out the negative side of most businesses; however, I highly do NOT recommend doing any kind of business with these people. They will violate sale policies and lie to you. Do not trust them with your money or automobile. Stay away. Just drive around and find an honest business.

Got my oil changed yesterday at Advanced Auto.Called in to book an appt, they took my car in right away.The car was finished in 30 minutes. Staff was knowledgeable, let me know my car is in good condition, topped everything off, good prices!The entrance is a little hard to see at first because the door is right inside the garage doors, but you can go through the nail salon next door as well.Will go again!

On Vacation, my AC belt went out. Did a local search for an auto repair place and this was the closest place to me. Was quoted a price on the phone and made an appointment same day. Met Bo, the owner of the place. Him and his mechanic assesed my situation and discovered that my AC Comperssor went out. They took me outside to my truck and showed me the problem. The mechanic working on my truck was VERY knowledgeable.Bo not only gave me $165.00 discount he drove me back to my resort and his daughter came and picked me and my wife up after business hours to get our truck once he was done! Today was the third time I came to this mechanic. The first time was to get a starter replaced, I went to them because the gave me the best quote in town. Everything went smoothly, but the next day the starter failed. Not their fault, just a random bad part. I got my car towed back to their place and they swiftly replaced the failed part. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!The second time I took my car there, they flushed my radiator and suggested I put in a new temperature gauge. I wasn’t sure I needed a new temperature gauge, but the gentleman behind the counter explained to me clearly why I needed it and he was right. KNOWLEDGEABLE!The third time I had car issues, I decided to try out another place in town. The second I walked in, I knew this place was a step below Advanced Auto Repair, but I thought I’d give them a chance anyways. When they quoted me $790, I quickly called Advanced Auto Repair to quote the same job- they quoted $480! BEST PRICES IN TOWN!All in all, I’ve finally found ‘my mechanic’! I’ll recommend them to all my friends and they’ll have me as a customer for life.Friendly, professional, smart, great prices- they are the best!

Just had my smog done here. Once it was my turn Service was done pretty quick. Excellent service and friendly staff.

Took my challenger here to get Halo lights installed and was truly blown away by the top notch customer service! I was told it would take a couple hours to get the job done, so the plan was to drop my car off and Uber back home, instead I was given a ride home in one of the guys GTR! They did an absolutely incredible job on my car at an affordable price. This will be the only place I take my car to have work done on it!

Beware, they take on too many cars. There boss iam an honest guy but the workers are poorly trained and will do more harm to your car. Took my car in for a simple tune up and it has never worked properly since.they took my raidaotr off and when they replaced it they left out 2 mounting bolts. Just beware, get work done there and your car will pay for it.

Sold me $60 light bulbs I didnt need. Held my car hostage over the weekend, told me if I took it and brought it back they would charge me twice for the inspection. Charged me $125 diagnostic fee for a $14 wire repair.

Literally the best mechanic in North County SD. There is no point looking anywhere else. Honest, inexpensive, thorough and experienced.
