The eggs benedict tasted bad, like it had a rotten eggs taste to it, to the point where it was inedible. We asked our waiter if we could get something else and she spoke to the manager who told us we could order something else but we would still have to pay for both items. So we then ordered banana chocolate chip pancakes (thinking that a pancake would be faster to make...wrong choice), it took 45 minutes for the pancake to come out and then it was just a chocolate chip pancake, no banana. So then after being at the restaurant for almost 2 hours, we paid the full bill for the inedible eggs benedict and the pancakes that were not the pancakes we ordered. Very disappointed with the food, but even more so in the horrible customer service. Would not go back here again.
Quaint little atmosphere with pleasant view of downtown. We shared a strawberry/blueberry crepe which had a good filling but it was served a tad colder than I had expected. I enjoyed my Florentine poached eggs [with a side of generously served bacon].My favorite was the white, chocolate, hazelnut cappuccino.Only recommendation would be to separate the tables a bit more to ensure we follow with extra cautious covid distancing. [Please note we dont know how had it is here]
Brought my girlfriend here for the first time, we both ordered omelettes and coffee. The wait time was 30 seconds from when we walked in. The food was great and always love the ambiance!! Our waitress was a little ehh, she wasnt as others Ive had in the past. But well definitely be back either way!
Nice place for breakfast. Casual dining and good food. Warning: the Pancake on the 2 Egg/pancake is the size of a 18-wheeler hubcap (Huge). I got the wheat pancake and it has a taste of cinnimon in it. (Yumm) I ate more than I planned - it was that good.Check it out if you are in the area.
Excellent food and good portions for the price. I thought it was better food than the big place in town that everyone goes to. Just my opinion
A Waco classic that is a must try for breakfast and brunch. While I was at Baylor it was always a treat to grab a bite to eat at Cafe Capp, and even now when I come back the experience never disappoints. The restaurant is the definition of local, and while it may not be the most trendy, or be owned by Chip and Jo, it is going to give you delicious food with great service, and a true Waco experience.
The person who answered the phone did not care to answer my one question just now and then hung up. I understand it may have been busy, but but we were on the phone maybe 30 seconds. How disappointing to know they do not care how they treat customers on the phone.
Offbeat, where the locals eat. Food was good, pancakes are massive...you might want to share. Service was good and staff was friendly.
These pancakes are HUGE and fluffy. Very good breakfast for a decent price. Wasnt too expensive. The menu can be viewed via a QR code or online on their website. Unsure if this is new with Covid or if this was a thing prior to Covid. Either way, it was nice to not have to hold a menu that might not be clean.
The food was a little burnt and their coffee machine was broke. For a brunch place its not great. Bacon was super tough. Probably wont go back. The only upside was the nice staff
I can say the food portions and food is very good. Its not my style. Its kind of fancy. Im an outside bar and grill person. The service was slow, but it couldbe because they were packed and not enough help.
Fast service - Good Atmosphere. Rain or shine I think its a good lilttle spot to sit down and enjoy.
First time coming here and I loved it! The food is delicious and the employees were nice.
Super friendly place. The breakfast we had was really yummy.
I absolutely love this place! I miss the grab eggs benedict they havent had it available in a a couple of months which is the only thing I get there. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because my poached eggs have been over cooked the past 3 times I have been there and have had to be sent back. The waitress didnt seem to care too much and tjey dont seem to eager to get it rushed out. My wife finished her food before I got mine back. Otherwise this really is a great spot!
I didnt take any pictures of the overall vibe because it was to busy, but the vibe is amazing, along with the breakfast which was also very good
Horrible experience this morning. Waited 45 minutes & was not put on the list originally. (Took the fault for that one) waited & waited. Asked once how much longer was told I was 3rd in line at that point. 5 more groups went in, finally the “owner” as he claimed Dale acted like he could care less. Horrible horrible customer service.
This place is wonderful. The pancakes are the size of the plate so you only need one but they are so good you might try to eat another. It is very well priced and great friendly and fast service
Very professional and courteous staff and the pancakes are huge so always come hungry!
05/20/2021, 10:00am, 6th St location. Convenient parking lot just next door.We were quickly seated and served. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious(and reasonably priced). Our waitress, Jazmine, was a delight. One suggestion 😊. On the bulletin board at the entrance there are “Voted Best in Waco” awards for numerous years … up to 2015. Thereafter… none! 🤷🏻♂️. It’s like an advertisement… “We used to be great … not so much anymore.” 🤣😂😅Anyway … we recommend this place. We enjoyed our visit and will return.
Perfect Belgium waffles. Breakfast was delicious here
Amazing taco omelet. Such a unique choice and it was so good!
Awesome service! We had a large group and they accommodated us immediately. Our waitress did awesome and the food portions were great! I would highly recommend eating here
Banana nut bread French toast was amazing. Husband liked the eggs, ham, hash browns, and giant pecan pancake. Espresso and coffee were decent. Great view of the Alico building out the giant windows. Got to check out a little Farmers market across the road Saturday. That was nice. Big parking lot and lots of dining space.
Services was excellent .We were va party of 17. Visiting from Florida. Breakfast was served more then what we thought Waiters were very kind and polite. Hard to find in this season. God bless this restaurant!
Great food, no waiting in line. You have to get a pancake they are wonderful and almost to many flavors to choose from!
Service was great and food was amazing. Prices very reasonable also. Definitely a place to come for breakfast. Might come again before we leave Waco.
Cute idea of a restaurant. You could tell that it is a popular restaurant, and that it probably used to be real good, but today I wasnt impressed. The food was good, and well prepared - and the selection was great. The prices were also very reasonable. What wasnt so great was the service. Waited a solid ten-fifteen minutes for my water and my coffee. Once I got my coffee (bottomless cup) no one ever offered to refill it. No one checked on us for anything and when we did manage to flag someone down, they didnt seem interested in helping. Our wait staff didnt seem to know fairly basic answers to questions about the menu items. Also, the restroom was dirty due to a commode that didnt work properly.Nice local place, nice atmosphere, good food and selection, but needs help with their service.
Delicious breakfast and great service.Even though the place was crowded, they still provided excellent and quick service to us and everyone else.We ordered a fajita omelette with avocado and mushrooms and florentine eggs benedict.Multiple coffee, tea and other drink options that will satisfy everyone who visits them.
The lunch food was great! The salad, soup, and sandwhiches were amazing. We had the spinach cheddar soup, the portabella salad, italian panini, and santa fe club sandwhich. The servers were very nice but a few waitresses did not know the menu. We were seated right away. However, it took time for someone to come take our drink and menu orders. I give it 4 stars for the warm atmosphere and the delicious food. It will go up to 5 if the service improves.
Waited an hour and a half for food and were given multiple excuses and stories about the wait. Worried more about call in orders more than customers in house. Poor managements. Food was mehj at best compared to other locations. We did speak to manager guy and he said a different story than the servers. They hadnt even started. Our order because of 100 waffles they had to make. I said thats fine we didnt order waffles.Money in the door should always take priority over call in orders
12543112 Whats the difference between a pickle and a potato chips? A pickle has an I before e.
Great atmosphere! Great service! Good was excellent! We went all 3 mornings we were in Waco. Thanks for the 😃😊
Just ordered for pickup. 2 egg breakfast:Tiny bit of butter (? Maybe 1 tsp and 1/2) for the pancake, toast barely browned, thick and limp, unbuttered (mopped with an oil/butter mix???), bacon extra greasy & limp, coffee weak. Hash browns plentiful, a bit oily but delicious. Quantity is generous. Flavors as expected for what is provided.Overall, a step below iHOP or a Denny’s in food preparation (though I speak from distant memory/experience) at 30% to 40% more $$$. Food quality is better than average.Should I try again, I will order toast extra crisp, bacon crisp, extra butter. I won’t bother with the brown coffee flavored water, and order an espresso beverage.Typical of many Waco eateries, misses the details that could make something truly good and the outcome is mediocre and disappointing. As the quality is good, and the disappointment is largely in the preparation, I would return, but be highly specific in my ordering.
I have never had a negative experience at Cafe Cap. I no longer live in Waco, but if I find myself there, I will make time to eat here. The banana bread french toast is my favorite, but you cant really go wrong with anything you order. It is a popular restaurant, though, so dont be shocked if there is a wait on the weekends.
Everything we ordered was delicious, coulda been bigger
The coffee was deliciously strong, breakfast was made perfectly, & even the music selection was enjoyable! We had the eggs benedict which tasted as though the hollandaise sauce was made from scratch! (if you know the difference between the real stuff & the instant powdered kind, youll love this dish!
We had a very nice breakfast here. The pancakes are almost bigger than the plate, light and fluffy. If your in Waco at breakfast time, you should try it!
Food would have been good if it didnt taste like it had been in a fridge! Waitress only checked on us one time! I will definitely not be back! I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy.... Too bad there arent negative ratings otherwise I would have chose that!
I ate and have left overs, had a soft drink, and tipped well all for a total of $13.My waitress made it very clear she did not care how my experience was. She only checked on me once, even though the restaurant was past the rush. She never cleared my dishes...again, this being when I was one of the very few customers in the restaurant. She clearly cared more about pleasing herself over giving a decent effort to serving customers.
The food is good but I didnt like that when I asked for the bill it was a value and when I paid it was another value
Great place I enjoyed the service and the food very recommended 👌
Love this place so much! My friend and I visit here early mornings every week, and I love how friendly the staff is even at 6:30am. Not to mention they have the BEST pancakes! 20/10 recommend!
Cozy spot right across from where the Farmers Market is.
Great service, delicious food!!
Danna at The Cafe Cappuccino was a delight to have as our server. My bestfriend and I decided to have lunch there and we were blown away by how great the food was and how friendly the staff is as well. Highly recommend this spot to everyone.
Highly rated, not sure why. Ordered fajita omelete. Supposed to me 3 eggs, but clearly only 2. Very bland. Had to add hot sauce to be able to finish it. At $10.95, very overpriced, poor value. Pancake that came with it was good. Service average with long wait at table before order taken. Poor cleaning between clients with no wipe down of chairs, only tables. At least wait staff were masked. Poor value for price.
Cappuccino was weak like water! Service was slow and lukewarm.
Had a not-so-great experience at Cafe Cappuccino. Had to ask a second time for our coffee after they forgot about our order. My wifes food had 2 very long hairs in it. Coffee is so-so, not great. Nice decor and a fun local place. We just had a bad experience.
Great classic breakfast food. Pancakes were especially great. Breakfast quesadilla was good, but I envied my wife’s classic combo.
Delicious Eggs Benedict
Its was nice would be glad to come back and enjoy myself with yall and eat and bring my family as well for them enjoy like me
Delicious lattes and yummy, big portions of food.
The food was fantastic! The pancakes are the size of a large plate!🥓🥞🧇🍳☕
Service was good. Place was nice. I ordered the crepes and like someone else said, it was rubbery and the strawberries and blueberries were thawed from frozen. Portions were small.
They dont have almond milk or any other non dairy coffee options. For a place with this name you would expect more.. the coffee cups are big but their coffee shots for the cappuccinos are small so the coffee is very weak. We had to order another shot of espresso for ours.( more monneeeyy) to make the coffee bearable. The breakfast omelette was definitely not 3 eggs like they describe on the menu. Had the bacon, cheddar cheese and roma tomatoes omelette. It was thin maybe 1 egg omelette with lots of bacon inside but no cheese. Only a little sprinkle of cheese on top.My partner also complained about the food. And we had about 4 different servers some were nice and some ignored when you want to place an order. So I would not return or recommend.
Have been traveling to Waco for years but didn’t realize this place was just down the street. What a surprise gem! Just has time for a latte and muffin but I would definitely return for food given the chance. Cozy and inviting spot in the heart of downtown!
Delicious breakfast y excellent service
First time to try. I enjoyed it. It was not too crowded at lunch and food came out timely. I ordered the lettuce wraps and it was plenty of food. Seasoning was light so I wish I could have tasted more of the sauce but it was very enjoyable. Definitely a return trip in the future.
Always great food and service
I had the crepes, Mixed berry && pecan. This was my first time to try a crepe && if this what they are supposed to taste like it will definitely be my last time. Wow. It was like a slimy piece of rubber. No flavor at all. And the mixed berry was just blueberries and whole, almost raw, cranberries. They were just sat inside with chopped up pecans. It was terrible. My friend had a pretty basic breakfast with a pancake. There was just no taste in anything. The coffee was the best part. Service was slow. Most likely will not be returning.
Best french toast and pancakes, there fluffy, light, and filling.
Loved it! Great breakfast, huge pancakes, lots of whipped cream on the kids hot chocolate!
It was epic; the waitress was super nice, the food was really good, I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in Downtown Waco.
Great breakfast, and gluten free options! Tried gluten free blueberry pancake, enough for 2 to share, side of bacon. Others had the one egg and pancake option, regular. Also have the two Taco breakfast with bacon, and was delicious. We were there after 11:30, with a 45-minute wait. Therefore I would suggest call ahead or coming around 1 when the rush is over. They do close at 2 pm. Will definitely come back to try their lunch options or even the Crepes. I dont think you can go wrong with any of the menu items.
Delicious food & the pumpkin spice latte was really good! Cute trendy cafe!!
Breakfast tacos and pancakes were excellent
Good food, quick service, limited wait time
Good breakfast and service Great. Coffee too strong for my taste
Ate here this morning. We sat with our empty water glasses and watched seven employees standing behind the bar doing literally nothing and also the two hostesses standing four feet from us as they clearly saw our empty glasses because I watched them look at our glasses multiple times. Our waitress came up to us and asked if we were doing okay and we just stared at her like you really dont see we have NOTHING to drink as were eating our meal? She smiled and walked off. I then went to the bar and asked a young boy if we could have some water. With a VERY confused look on his face he reached down to turn on the SINK WATER which he then filled our glasses with and the hot water melted what little ice we had left. I asked him if hes going to fill our glasses with sink water could he at least put some ice in there for us and he said he couldnt put it in the glass and hed have to give us a separate glass to put the ice in. WHAT?! Ive been a waitress for 8 years and I have never been so dumbfounded at what I experienced. A total of 9 employees standing around doing absolutely nothing and I had to get up to get my own refills to get hot sink water?? I was waiting to see if we were on a prank TV show at that point. It is quite hilarious that they call themselves a restaurant. My two year old daughter couldve given me better service. I will not be going back to the downtown location EVER.
Was told a 30 min wait ended up being 45 but food was good.
I went here with my mom after visiting the Farmers market, and I was disappointed, but not enough to prevent me from coming back. The service was average, although I would expect better since there wasnt a large crowd inside. They were out of the coffee that we were going to order, but thats fine, I understand that kind of thing is beyond their control. My mom ordered a Gingerbread pancake, and.. Oh boy. Their pancakes are huge, almost bigger than the plate! I think its kind of crazy how they have options for ordering more than three of those. Onto my food. I ordered a BLT on an English Muffin, and the waiter was kind enough to allow me to substitute Turkey Bacon. The disappointment here was that the side of fruit that came with it was canned, cocktail fruit. I will not be ordering their fruit again. Their water also tastes like it was from the tap, but again, that cant be helped. Still a four-star experience because of their generous portions and the overall low cost!
Wonderful coffee and eggs Bennie! Loved the place, definitely a 10!
My family and I love having breakfast/lunch dates here together. Decently priced a d the size is plenty. Variety is great, service is a hit or miss, especially depending on location. The food is fresh and made to order, their breakfast is my favorite.
Great breakfast. My wife loves the gingerbread pancakes. Very reasonable prices and large portions. Friendly staff. Clean.
Will not be returning to this place. Its a hipster eatery. No real beef burgers! Had turkey burgers and veggie burgers! I settled on Marys panini which was supposed to be ham, Swiss, bacon, tomatoes, mayo and spicy mustard. They dont serve lunch until after 1200pm. It was 1120 when I ordered. What kind of hippie place doesnt serve lunch until after noon. Most places stop serving breakfast at 1000 and Im happy they serve breakfast all day...but lunch should be served at least by 1100.
Good standby. Slipping a bit since the last time I was in Waco.
Fantastic customer service! The food is most delicious. The atmosphere is so calm and layed back. Great prices as well. A must visit when in Waco.
Pretty good breakfast. Nice service. Food was good, not great.
Always amazing service and friendly staff. Have NEVER had to send back my food for any reason. Very caring and remember the quirkiness of their regular customers and are always prepared to provide and/or handle thise request prior to it been asked.
Ive lived in Waco for over 6 years. Sadly, service has gone extremely downhill overtime. Weve always enjoyed eating breakfast here. But my lunch experiences have been horrible lately. Today we went at noon. There were two other parties in front of us. Even though half of the tables in the restaurant were EMPTY, it took all of us 20-25 min to be seated. The employees barely acknowledged our presence. After we were seated, we waited a while again with no sign of a server. So after 30 minutes of basically no service in a restaurant that was not very busy, we finally had to leave so we could get food before needing to be back at work. Im so sad this place has such bad service. I really used to enjoy it.
A smallish cute breakfast/lunch place. I definitely recommend it. Its known for its huge, delicious pancakes. Like seriously. Theyre huge. If I order one I usually dont have to order anything else.
Quality is not the same as it used to be. Pancakes were thin, slightly raw, and broken. The orange juice was spoiled so I had it replaced after I informed our waitress about this. The next glass of OJ was also spoiled. Service took way longer than it should’ve given that very few people were there. This restaurant is not what it used to be.
Wait was long, but well worth it. Even in crowded environment, the staff were prompt and cheerful. Food was delicious.
