Really neat place with a very cool layout and the people were super friendly and great hosts. The only critique is the lack of coffee condiments (no half-and-half) and the cup size was very small for three price. $3.50 for and 8oz cup of cold brew. Otherwise I really liked it.
Love this place. The vibe is amazing and the coffee is superior! One of my favorite places to hunker down and get work done when I just need to get out of the house. They also have really great live music events pretty regularly!
Pinewood is home to some of the best coffee in Waco, and in the opinion of innumerable students is one of the best study places after a long day of classes. Good luck finding a table at any time during the day, most, if not all of them are full of college students sipping on iced coffees and fresh brewed concoctions. While Pinewood is somewhat out of the way if you are simply passing through Waco, the coffee cannot be beat, nor can the vibe of this place.
Comfy cozy (but still spacious) rustic coffee shop. Baristas know how to pull good shots and espresso tastes amazing. They play music on a record player haha I loved the vibe and was able to find seating in the corner even though the place was full. The baristas are so nice and cool and make good suggestions. High recommend you try this place if youβre in the area
I bicycled past a few times and came back with my wife for a date night coffee. What a wonderful cozy place. Unlike most cafes that are in commercial areas, this is sportiness more by residential buildings. That staff were very welcoming. The chocolate chip pretzel cookie was wickedly good. Now that I have been I will be stopping while commuting a well for a cup of Joe.
Excellent!! Excellent expresso, some of the best I have tried in the United States. In addition to have an extraordinary expresso this place looks amazing, the atmosphere is inspiring and cozy. The space looks intimate and unique. The outdoor patio is so charming and brings something incredibly special to the overall vibe. I highly recommend this coffee bar if you are serious about coffee!!
Living in Waco for two months because Iβve gotten tired of Dallas and Houston and this gem was an amazing find. It has a central courtyard for people to socialize and the inside decor is bright, with lots of pinewood of course!Staff is cheerful and will strike up a conversation with you if theyβre not swamped. Baristas might be the only people some people get to talk to the entire day because of busy schedules so having staff like them brightens up my day! Coffee is good, simple menu. Their other drinks are just as good. Loved the house latte here!CAN GET SUPER PACKED THOUGH, so people studying, beware!!
Great coffee neat atmosphere and excellent service. Staff is very friendly to customers. Thefivestarplan.com
I love the coffee and atmosphere here, but its frequently too crowded to find a table or chair. I think only once have I been able to sit because I met a friend who already had a table. With more seating (post-COVID?), Ill give Pinewood 5 stars!
Got a hot cocoa for $3. Was Warm only. Ok not a big deal. Cup was maybe 6 ounces. Like a childs size water cup at mc Donalds. Seriously? I had asked what the sizes were prior to ordering and the cashier said theres only 1 size. So I thought ok, maybe its a medium size. Nope, smaller than a small anywhere else on the planet.Atmosphere was ok, but no where to sit because of all of the single college students taking up 4 person tables. Will not come again.
It only allows for 5 stars or they would have 10. The coffee is amazing and the staff is the absolute best.
High-quality coffee, an amazing staff, and a boho atmosphere. This is a MUST in Waco. It gets busy, so you might have to search around for a seat.
This joint is totally chill. Great place for lampin
Great experience. Fast and friendly service for some great coffee. Relaxing vibe with music and great patio area. Was fairly packed with a steady flow of traffic. Will frequent when in town.
We immediately loved the openness of this location. We had an amazing barista who answered all of our questions as we were first time guests. We were grateful to be able to sit in a restful atmosphere amidst multiple handmade wooden tables, ceilings, and furniture items. The aesthetic of Pinewood Coffee Bar made it easy to have a private conversation yet still feel the comfort of an open room. We will absolutely be returning and we reccomend this coffee shop to all who travel through Waco, TX!
Their house coffee (Rover)is one of the best in Waco. Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking if you use, as most do, the lot across the street.
Stylish place and amazing coffee! Ask about the flavors available if youre getting a latte; some of them are quite interesting. The balance between espresso, milk and syrup was perfect, with all the flavors coming through wonderfully. Definitely worth a stop.
Great selection of teas and coffee. Great service as well. Only down side is one size for everything.
Great coffee and atmosphere. Nice stop after dropping off the little one.
Local coffee shop with a Texas flair. Great coffee. Better service. And awesome music. Ill be back.
Pinewood Coffee Bar is AMAZING!!! I went to talk with my friend about some stuff and it was just an awesome place to do it! I personally dont care for coffee, but their hot chocolate is so professional and delicious! The employee are extremely quick and polite. Even with that many people on the WiFi at once, the speed was incredibly fast! Definitely want to go back, especially if I need a nice calm place to get some things done real quick! Thank you Pinewood!
A bare bones kind of coffee shop. Simple yet incredible. Its called Pinewood so as you could imagine a lot of the decor is pinewood tree themed, very tasteful! Great place to grab a coffee and sit and read a book or study or just meet friends. The environment/atmosphere is very chill. Highly recommend going with your best friend and grabbing a cup to caught up with.
No other coffee smells so good. I always buy their coffee beans β€οΈ
All the baristos are really cute in their own unique way.Luke offers a calm and cool exterior with razor sharp wit hiding underneath.Chris does the gentlemen-cowboy thing, but then hell hit you with Jersday (Jersey-Thursday) to keep you on your toes.I want to hug Davis.Justin is also just one big hug incarnate.I think Ben is the most cute, but thats just my preference.Austin wears a sweater like nobodys business.Chases smile melts my heart.I recommend the 8-Ball
Great latte, the espresso was nice and smooth while being flavorful, I am not normally a sweet coffee person but took their house syrup recommendation. It is a brown sugar based syrup with a bit of vanilla, it added a bit of sweet and was almost too much for my taste but was very good. Toasted brown sugar really complimented the espresso nicely. They were playing an Allman Brothers record while i was there, atmosphere was awesome, the courtyard is beautiful and the beer selection in their public house is full of great local and texas beer. I ended up with a growler to go.
I lived across the street and would visit Pinewood any chance I could. At its true core, its a neighborhood coffee shop. The baristas are super friendly and create a welcoming environment. Great atmosphere for catching up with a friend or studying. Highly recommend.
Pinewood has a comfortable atmosphere and a super friendly staff. Coffee is amazing too!
One girl there played Earth, Wind, and Fire and I I took my headphones for that. It was sick.
Nice place if you want to have a drink or coffee with your friends. Try their signature drinks. It was good. Although I ordered non coffee drink, matcha, it was very mild at first but when you reach the bottom, has a nice strong taste of green tea. I thought it was good. Plenty of parking space, easy in and out.
Great, super campy vibe. The coffee is a little bitter, but their cold brew in AMAZING. I come here to study all the time, one of my fav spots in Waco
Best iced coffee in waco.
Coffee AND Beer?!?! Turn your late night study sessions into a night out at Pinewood. Super knowledgeable staff, always wonderful music and a friendly atmosphere. If youre looking to study or just hang out, this is the spot.
Taste is awesome! Size of the drink on the small size compared with Starbucks. Prices are very reasonable.
Truly one of the best coffee shops in Waco.
Stopped in from out of town, really, really fantastic coffee and vibe!!!
Great fresh authentically brewed coffee. Atmosphere is great and love to sit outside and enjoy my drip coffee with oat milk.
Fun little spot. Good coffee, good beer selection. Limited food options
Great coffee and a very relaxing atmosphere.Would like some larger cup sizes as options.
Great customer service, ambience, and delicious cappuccino. Lovely outdoor seating area, very relaxing to enjoy fresh air. The coffee shop has a good atmosphere. Cappuccino was delicious and I look forward to try some of the tea next time. It was nice to see real tea leaves on the counter instead of teabags and that makes me want to come back and try some . Located on Austin avenue, easy to see and access from the road. They have a ramp to accommodate wheelchair accessibility. Parking lot might needs improvement to accommodate more than one handicap parking spot for the size of the coffee shop. Overall, great experience, and recommend this coffee shop.
Very homey, in a good way! I had a Matcha Tea with Oat Milk and it was yummy. (If you like matcha or weird things I highly recommend...) Their outside seating is very charming, too bad it rained the day I went! Great place for studying or a coffee/tea date!
Recently found out my local coffee shop gets their coffee from Pinewood Roasters. I absolutely love this coffee. Iβm so happy Iβmable to get it locally in the Fort Worth area. But I definitely see a day trip to Waco very soon to see what else Pinewood has to offer π€βοΈ
If we all enjoy this nice place together, then we can enjoy it forever. Do your part, and spend your coffee dollars here.
Dont waste your time if you just want a coffee with a bagel. Its an atmosphere and mood place first, coffee second, bagel last. Coffee is good but not twice the price good. We were visiting from out of town, and are in our late 50s, we dont really care much who sees us drinking coffee.
Delicious biscuits and inviting atmosphere. Love the record player.
Cute spot for coffee with ample, socially distanced seating. Simple order: house drip. Great Guatemala-Ethiopia blend. Not far off of i35 if youre traveling and just need some caffeine!
Pretty good tea. Will have to return to try more of the menu.
We were on the brewery side but the entire place is spectacular. Perfect venue for socializing....from 6 feet + away and using the great wifi. Thanks Pinewood!
This is probably the best coffee in Waco- noticeably better than Dichotomy, the closest competitor. Its a tad pretentious- the first time I came in they were playing Cat Stevens on vinyl. However, the coffee is excellent, the service friendly and knowledgeable, and the environment comfortable. Ask questions, get a recommendation, and try a pour-over.
Fun coffee shop a little off the beaten path. Interior is warm and inviting and they have a great Spanish style courtyard/patio under a giant oak tree. They have inventive drinks including the Arnold Palmer esque cold Brew concoction I had. I wanted it to have more coffee flavor to it but still applaud their creativity.Staff is super friendly and service is clearly important. They bring your drink out to you when its ready.Bathroom was clean and beautifully decorated. Appreciated the humorous touch to the dont flush sign :)
Espresso is great. Just wish they had a few more snack choises
Coffee and atmosphere is good but they only had two people working on a busy Saturday morning. We waited 25 minutes for two drinks. Baristas did not seem rushed at all.
Best cappucino Ive had since my time studying abroad in Italy. This place is a great work/study spot. Conducive for individual work or a meeting with a few others. There is also a wonderful outdoor seating area where we enjoy taking our dog! We also purchase their whole beans, then take them home and grind them to use for our daily coffee. Once you start using their beans its hard to drink any plain jane brand coffee! We love Pinewood!
The atmosphere alone makes this place worth visiting, but the coffee is also great!!!
Cool vibe, good brews.
I was recommended this buy a friend and boy was an great recommendation!
The magic of Pinewood lies in its perfectly cultivated atmosphere. The whole building is built around a tree, and something about the place is just calming and peaceful. If you want to study outside with a cup of coffee or a nice cup of tea, it doesnt get better than this. The coffee is good, the tea is fantabulous, and the baristas are incredibly kind and offer great recommendations,
Laid back feel
Went in to buy a bag of ground coffee. The barista was very informative and a delight to discuss coffee with.
Pinewood has a very well appointed interior space, with ample room and seating. The outdoor patio is pleasant as well, with a cozy feel. The pricing however is a bit steep. The sizes of the selections is appropriate, but given the general availability of the ingredients, a bit overpriced. The beverage selections are limited but refined and served by a knowledgeable and welcoming staff.
This place is amazing!! From staff to product, I was not disappointed. I go there often and the coffee always taste the same.....delicious! They also offer some healthy alternatives to the regular coffee shop fare....again, delicious! They have a courtyard with lots of tables and room to spread out. Great gathering place.Worth checking out!
Great atmosphere, and they had kombucha :)
Great coffee and a wonderful place to hang out!
Cute coffee spot to go do some work. The only downside is that they only have cookies for snacks but there is a waffle truck next to it to eat!
Cool amd fun place, playing viny-such great sound. Only had coffee, it was good, not excellent, but my preference is third-wave coffee.
Were locals and love this place! Great coffee for a fair price. Its always bustling which is no big deal because it isnt too hard to find a seat. Only knocking off a star because the music is always excessively loud. I cant hear myself talk over the songs and when Im alone, I cant hear my music in my headphones even when its turned up all the way. Wish they wouldnt do that so often.
Great turmeric tea with oat non dairy milk!
Their Spotlight Costa Rican is amazing... when they have it, that is. Friendly and accomodating staff.
Pinewood has the best coffee in town! The endless brewed coffee is just about as good as it gets. Its the perfect place to hunker down and destroy your todo list. The staff is already friendly and the vibes are always perfect!
The pub guys are always so chill and the selection is on good rotation with some local stuff that stays on. One of the fav spots to hit up for a nice cold one for sure.
This place might be for some people, but its not for me. Id like more options than vanilla or lavender for some flavor. And a macchiato, which youre not getting here. π€·πΌββοΈ very hipster vibe. Not my thing, though it might be yours.Response to response: I dont like honey lavender or vanilla (at least not JUST vanilla...) in my coffee, nor do I like black coffee. Its just not my type of place. Thank you, but also no thank you. Not trying to offend you personally. Again, as Ive said several times, its just not my type of place. That doesnt mean its not for other people. However, if anyone like me is out there, they will have a chance to know before they go.
Good coffee, cool atmosphere
Nice atmosphere, good coffee, and quick service even when busy!
Highly recommend. Sit outside if weather allows (pet-friendly). Great coffee, friendly staff, walking distance from our Airbnb. One of our favorite parts of Waco so far!
Stopped at a coffee shop in Burleson. The coffee was good so I asked what kind it was. I was told it came from Waco at a place called Pinewood Roasters. So when I went through Waco, I thought Iβd try it out. Not disappointed. Great atmosphere, greater coffee.
I live in Austin, TX and stopped by Pinewood last week in Waco. The place is on par with any coffee shop I have ever been to, including the shops I frequented when I lived in Brooklyn and now Austin. The cold brew is great! Nice owners and employees. All around good experience! They take their coffee seriously at Pinewood.
Not impressed with the coffee size, I came for a coffee not a taste test. And very pricy for just a tiny coffee. Sorry not my kind of place
Neat place and fun/hip atmosphere. Lots of seating available outside or inside. There is a lot of shade outside. My husband says its the best coffee! They have interesting drinks like cold brew in lemonade that are fun and tasty. Good place for real coffee drinkers. Good place to sit and study/work.
Cool 70s vibe. Great coffee.
