Fast quote and fast service. The manifold exhaust heat shield on my Escalade was getting old. Not an easy fix because bolts get rusted in the engine block. As a novice engine rebuilder, I know this job is not easy due to small spaces to work and hard to remove parts. The end result of the replacement looks excellent and I even see improvement in engine performance. These guys seem very capable and very honest. I trust them to do more work on my SUV in the future. They performed this pretty complex job with ease.

Asked for a quote to change both front and back brake pads and all 4 rotors. I am supplying all of the parts. This is for a 2016 Honda Civic. He paused for over a minute like he was looking something up and quoted $325.00 for labor only. When I said I was providing the parts he said Its not our favorite thing to do. Yes since they cant gouge you on the parts price too. This is a two hour job, tops. $162.50 an hour for labor? Get real. Stay away from these shysters.

Very professional and honest. The scope of the work to be done was explained very well and they did a tremendous job of answering all questions. I would definitely recommend to all those looking for someone they can trust!

Ive been there twice in the past year with my 10 year old vehicle and have gotten very good service. I trust them to be honest and reliable. They do a great job explaining the problem and all the costs. Feel confident using them.

I highly recommend Boston Muffler Brake & Automotive. They took the time to call and thoroughly explain what was wrong with my car. They offer great prices in addition to matching or beating prices from other service centers. I felt I could trust them with my car and that I wasnt overpaying for parts or services. Also, theres a Dunkin close by where you can wait while they work on your car.

Great honest business. Did excellent work on my 1979 Camaro and my Dodge Ram truck. Good prices and threw in a few little extras at no charge. Would highly recommend them for all exhaust work, which I had done. If you need other work I would recommend them was well as they are straight forward, honest, and wont overcharge you.

Quick and Great Service also approved by NAPA and AAA. Im usually leery about taking my car to the shop. But when the dealer I had been using quoted me an outrageous price to fix a check engine light and engine stutter I had to look elsewhere. I decided on this shop since it was local and coincidentally was approved by NAPA and AAA. Maybe it wasnt busy that day but the mechanic, Mr. Phan, got to work right away with a diag then drove it into the shop and went to work on it within minutes as I awaited my uber which gave me a feeling maybe he was an auto mechanic guru that liked the technical aspect of the repair process. The amount of work would have taken a lot of other shops a few days but he had it ready the next day in early afternoon and that was only because a part had to be special ordered. Worth mentioning is that I saved a small fortune vs dealer rates. Im definitely glad to have found this shop and would recommend to others

I brought in my 14 year old car for maintenance, and once again, the service was great. I have been bringing my cars here for more than 9 years. They are very economical and trustworthy. On more than one occasion I brought in my cars thinking that a more expensive service was required, and they recommended other services that were more cost-effective and adequately addressed the problems. They are willing to buy used parts if they will work for my cars. I will use them again in the future.

Just had some custom exhaust work done by Boston Muffler and thought they did an excellent job! I came into the shop with one thing in mind, and Steve recommended a much simpler and less expensive approach that gave me the exact result I was looking for. Minh was able to complete the job on the day promised and with a high level of quality. Very pleased with the outcome.

Ive had work done a couple of times here. They explained everything thoroughly, worked efficiently, and kept me up to date. The actual cost matched the quoted price.

I just got my car problem fixed by them. I did not have an appointment. I went there just because it is close to where I live and I left early after work that afternoon. I did not expect they could fix the problem, and I was thinking a quick diagnosis will be good enough. Those people are so cool. They went on the look at the car right away. It turned out to be a small problem and they fixed it immediately. The charge was very reasonable. I was very grateful, and will go there for services and car washes in the future.

Towed in by AAA with a bad alternator, standard cost to replace on my make and model is about $550. Was quoted alternator, battery, and drive belt for $860. Contacted 2 other garages who both quoted $550. Told them Id be towing my car elsewhere and paying ($60) diagnostic fee to get it back. At this point they told me they could drop price $100, to $760 (parts and labor cost what they cost. How much margin do you have that you can just drop a price $100?) Towed it less than a mile to another shop and had the exact same repair done same day for $550. I know overhead costs (rent, etc) can vary between shops, but by $300? Suspicious.

I caught these guys trying to get into my car while I was at the gym! If they don’t have a work order for my car, why were they looking into it thru the windows and trying to open the doors to my car?! Then again when I was leaving! I had to yell at the guy to walk away from my car. Why would they try to get into my car when they had no business with my car???

The service I received was excellent, fairly priced and done on time. Also, they estimated when additional service might be required since my car was older and had a lot of miles. I am able to drive it this long only because they keep it alive at affordable cost.

At the time most reviews here are good. Id advise you to check reviews on yelp before you are schemed.

Just replaced two front calipers and rear parking brake cable.The price was not the best, but it was fair.They were very professional and were pretty good and knowledgeable on what they do.

Great ServiceI want to start this review by saying I went to many different shops to diagnose and solve my exhaust problem. Everywhere else was quoting me $400+ and had to do a custom job and were unsure it seemed what the result would be. Boston Muffler and Brake though was very helpful. The person I talked to, Minh I believe it was, seemed very knowledgeable and talked me through three different ways to solve my problem. Basically it came down to a cheap way that later down the road if and when work needed to be done again, I wouldnt have to redo everything, a slightly more expensive custom job that would make all work afterwards custom or the expensive complete fix. He made sure I understood everything he was going to do for each one and told me if he didnt think an option was good, he wouldnt even mention it. I chose the cheapest fix because I didnt have the funds at that time. He explained for this particular fix, he couldnt guarantee how long it would last. He told me his work would last but there could be more corrosion down the pipe of my exhaust. He said it could last a week, a month or years, depending on how corroded everything else was. It has been 2 months and everything is still fine. I would recommend at least getting your car looked at here, if not getting it fixed there. They will make sure you understand everything and will give you the best service.

Guys are great, my car once died in Dorchester, got it towed to them and gpt the work done that day. Trustworthy and will walk you through any details, me not being a mechanic, that is great.

Ive been going to BMB for years, through three different cars. Im happy with the work they do. I also love that Minh will happily give advice about wiper blade brands and methods for cleaning the gunk off inside of my windshield.

My car had an issue of engine oil leaking. Minh, the shop manager, could understand what my car needed. He explained and suggested me what needs to be done. He fixed my car on time as he promised. I am very satisfied with the workmanship and reasonable cost. I am so thankful for Minhs wonderful services.

This place is such a rip-off. My Honda accord starter broke and this was already told to me by the AAA person who help me tow the car to the repair shop. I also asked his to check my front breaks andThe guys call me and tells that the battery needs replacement, which was such a lie as i just replaced the battery from AAA last year. when i told this to him he any way went and charged me 58$ for just checking the battery.Next he he says that my both tire needs to be replaced when i asked which one, he says the front ones, which was again a big lie as had problems with rear one. Then i insisted that the problem is with the rear one so he said he will again check it.Then he said that my starter was broken which was the case and he said that a new refurbished starter would cost 418 and labor of 218. when i now check back even the original honda starter only costs around 250$.In total for all the things he just checked he added labor charges and brought my bill to 950+ $. Ill never go back to such cheats again.

Minh and the crew at BMB are a team you can trust. I came in with multiple engine error codes related to my emissions system and a slew of possible repairs. Unlike other shops, they went out of their way to make my repairs as cheap as possible. They did not try to up-sell me on unnecessary services and parts. The parts and services they did provide were the best value around. They also pointed out that another shop had tried to charge me double labor for my brakes, and even drove my credit card to my house when I left it in the shop. I had an A+ experience and will certainly return if I have any issues in the future.

These guys are the reason my 2001 Prius is still on the road. Quick, thorough and reliable. The excellent service and attention to detail is the reason I keep coming backh here even though I now live out past 495. I recommend them highly.

Supposedly had an alignment. Probably the fact my warranty covered it. They tried to convince me it was the way the roads rounded is why my car was pulling. Im pretty sure all he did was bang some tools around and never even put it on machine. An alignment doesnt take 10 min he comes out and days all set showd me a picture on his phone instead of a computer printout that assures me he didnt do a dam thing. Another scumbag mechanic go figure.. my cars the same no matter the lane. Glad it wasnt my 100 dollars.

I was passing through town to attend my brothers graduation when my car began displaying troubles. Despite walking-in without an appointment, Minh greeted us professionally and got us serviced efficiently, after his prior responsibilities.Typically in any service oriented business you get a choice of 2 among the following 3: quick, good, cheap. At this location I received all three. By cheap I dont mean that he did shoddy work; he gave me a price lower than what my own mechanic had estimated and gave us a discount because my brother was a graduating student.I will most likely not pass thru here again any time soon, but Minh did a tremendous job and I am grateful to have found him during my emergency.
