I found AAMCO Transmissions online and I read the reviews for this place. Now I know places have their good and bad review, but this place had a bit more of good so I had to see for myself. I called and spoke to Maria, who was kind and professional to answer my questions before I made my decision to come. Dave who has that humor (hey we need that laugh at times like this..lol)was also very professional and will let you know what needs to be done. He had my car fixed and going in good time. I have to say they are a good place to take your vehicle if your ever in need of repair. Sorry Dave I didnt get those ice cream sandwiches for you maybe next time. lol

This repair shops head mechanic is Dave Kopntisky.We had been quoted 6k to replace our transmission. We took it to Dave after looking at the # of good reviews. Had an appointment. He looked at the car the same day identified the real problem and we were riding smoothly the next, cost $402.He also makes it a habit to check on his customers the next day to ensure they are still satisfied. Its a distance from our home, but well worth it ! He will continue to get our business. When your car is not operating you are always uneasy about whether or not its going to be serviced well and there also is an uneasiness that whomevers working on your car is going to give you a fair honest assessment of whats going on

I had a transmission fluid leak and brought it in. Let me tell you, any service that I can, I’ll be bringing it back here. They were completely transparent with the issue, gave me a ranged estimate (it ended up being on the lower end), and were phenomenal with communication of time. I have genuinely never had a better experience at a shop! As a female, it often feels like shop owners and employees look at us like walking dollar signs but that was absolutely NOT the case here. I felt that I was treated no differently and with the same respect as anyone else. Very solid business practices. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Took my car to them with a loud humming noise thinking it was a bad transmission and that I was going to have to pay thousands for new transmission. Turns out it was just a bad wheel hub !! I love this place and know I can bring my car here for anything (they fix everything, not just transmissions) and get an honest assessment on my car. No scams here and the staff are friendly and their prices are very reasonable. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else!! It feels great going to a place that you know you can trust!!!

I called up there ask how much for new brakes they estimated itd be 6 to 800 dollars I took my truck up there they called me and said it was gonna be 1400 dollars so I took it to monro right down the street they did it for 850 and half the stuff aamco said I needed I did not need never the less I would not take my car here they are way overpriced debbie is rude and there liars

Took my husbands Malibu here thinking it was the transmission that was bad Dave took a look over it and said it wasn’t the transmission, but he needed his whole exhaust system replaced .Having previous cars taken to other local shops we haven’t had a good outcome with replacing the catalytic converter so we were very skeptical especially because it was a hefty price .Well I’ve got to say Dave and whoever else worked on this Malibu did a fantastic job !!! This 2008 runs like its brand spanking new !!!My husband is beyond thrilled about his car it’s been what maybe a week now and it’s all he talks about !!! Just want to make sure you know the integrity behind the work at AAMCO. I had over $4K of work done at the Sterling Heights location that closed down. We made several attempts to call this location. We later found out the franchisee of the Warren location was also part owner of Sterling Heights. I had the transmission replaced along with other work and 1 month pass the 1 year warranty, the trans was doing the same exact thing it did when we had it replaced. I contacted the Warren office and they said nothing can be done as the warranty period passed, again are talking about 1 month or so after the expiration. I contacted AAMCO customer service and they basically said SORRY, but the Warren store is not going to do anything about it. So I am writing this to caution you on the integrity of the owner of the Warren location. $4K worth of work on this vehicle and that only covered me for 12 months. I was reassured by the tech that this warranty should be sufficient. I am a mom of 3 working 2 jobs and know how hard everyone works for their funds, so just be aware.God Bless.

I only went for an oil change, but I decided to write a review anyway. I was told that the price of an oil change would be much cheaper than what the dealership would charge me. Now, either the dealership is reasonably priced, or AAMCO is on the pricey side of an oil change. For a mere 57 cents more, I can hit the dealership, with the added benefit of a flat screen TV, free, cold, bottled water and decent hot coffee. While the staff is friendly here at AAMCO, and they changed my oil and everything, I think the 57 cent price difference is worth the added comfort. I wrote this review because reviews here get you a free oil change - even if theyre bad reviews. Which DOES put it cheaper on average from the dealerships once you factor in the free visit. I probably wont make a habit of oil changes here, but I hear great things about their transmission work. If you need comfort while you get an oil change, go elsewhere. ~The purple washcloth knitter lady

Excellent shop. Takes care of your car like its their own. Its good to have someone you can trust, thats reliable, and cares about their customers satisfaction. Makes you feel like family. I have dealt with many shops such as Midas and Pep boys, and plan to stick with this one. The work here deserves 10 stars with very reasonable prices.

Found this shop randomly and I am glad that I did. The best shop I have ever been too. Very attentive, and if you don’t know what the problem is they help you figure it out and fix it as fast as possible. All the work I have had done it is always within a very reasonable amount of time. Some car places keep your car to long and does not fix it right. Since I have found this shop both of my cars run efficiently. Highly recommended. Customer service can’t be beat.

I would like to share my honest experience about AAMCO located on 10mile in Warren Michigan. I am 18 years old and know nothing about cars and I am also a female. One day my car was leaking some fluids and the next day it could barely move. My warranty company (CARS) suggested that I go to an AAMCO. So I did. I met a man name Dave and he told me my warranty was straight crap and they are no paying for anything because i went over my mileage. To make a long story short, Dave told me he can check to see the exact problem and he will give me a price. My transmission, wheel barrens and a whole bunch of things were bad. He rebuilt my transmission and he also fixed the other problems for 2,800. That may sound like a lot of money but he actually gave me a deal. Not only is my car running super good he gave me a one year warranty on everything he has touched. About a month later i hit a big pot whole and damaged some things on my car Dave fixed it for FREE. I love their shop I love the mechanic Rick hes really nice and have no problem answering the 1,000 questions I always have when I go. GO HERE its definitely worth it. ASK FOR DAVE. This place is professional, reasonable, reliable, and the best .

Took my 2009 Chrysler 300 to AAMCO in Warren, MI after the dealer told me the car needed a flex plate. Was told to get a second opinion and met Dave and his wife Marie and we are family now. Car did not need a flex plate but a transmission shield. Folks are very friendly and knowledgeable. This will be my go to shop from now on!

Dave at AAMCO did everything right from the get-go. Extremely happy with my experience. He replied to my voicemail before any other shop, and I immediately trusted him. I called about an issue with my 2010 VW golf and he had already narrowed it down to a few likely issues before seeing the car. He provided a very reasonable price for the diagnosis process and as soon as he found out that his suspicions were right, he called me with a very reasonable price. It was not a transmission issue. It was an obscure wiring issue unique to the model, a difficult car to work on and a very reasonable price, so I know that he is must be honest. Car was done in half a day.Dave also went further to add a temporary fix to a hazardous body issue on a completely separate part of the car free of charge, and recommended that I go to a body shop. He advised on what aspect of body repair was really necessary for my safety. I never even asked!Recommend this shop to anyone.

This is a amazing place. I would tell everyone one I can to come check them out. The place was clean very easy to find. The owner and his wife are so sweet. They had me in and out. Love, love, love these guys. The staff as a whole is amazing. Dave and his wife Marie are super sweet, friendly and warm welcoming. The receptionist, Danielle is just absolutely hilarious (so proud of her for not getting fired today *inside joke*). I always have a great experience every time I go in there. I will never take my car anywhere else (except for a wheel alignment because they dont do those.) The service is also very speedy, honestly I am in and out. If they are busy they will try to get you in or let you know a prompt time to come back. The prices are also impeccable. They are literally spot on, usually less than the price I see when I google the problem Im having and generally lower than any other place I have been. Again love, love, love this place! Do yourself favor and shop here, I guarantee you will not trust anyone else with your car! I have already recommended my mom, my boy friend, my best friends (guy and girl), his sister and my sisters (Im the youngest of 5 girls); that is how much faith I have in these people and their work. I swear every time I leave there my car feels even better than the first time. I have an old 2001 Saturn that was on it last leg before them. Went to another shop and they tried to sell me a new trans for $3000 or a rebuild for $2000. Called Dave at AAMCO and he told me for for vehicle type there might be a much less expensive solution. Dave said he would charge me $40 to look at it and we could go from there. THE BEST $40 I EVER SPENT! My car/trans was repaired and running great for under $500. Thanks to all at AAMCO Warren!

Wanted to give the repair a chance to evaluate the durability. Had my daughters truck in for a difficult diagnostic. They were able to root cause the issue within three days and had it ready for pick up the following day!All I can say is PERFECT! When my car started experiencing transmission issues David made sure I detailed exactly what the car was doing and gave me some solutions until I could bring it in for service. Then the car broke down after Advanced Auto Parts plugged in the code reader!! The shop not only advanced my check-up but kept the car to make sure the issue was fixed. Superb service and definitely will be using them again now that I live closer to the shop.

I recently purchased a vehicle. The previous owner mentioned that the car needed transmission rebuild or fixed. I did some research and found that my car had a CD4E transmission and this particular transmission was known to have issues. Someone posted that if you had cancer would you go to a general doctor to solve your problem? I had a transmission problem so I decided to take it to a transmission shop. I brought my car to AAMCO in Warren based on ratings and the reviews from individuals.I have to admit that I was expecting the worse. I explained the symptoms to Dave and he diagnosed to the problem over the phone within seconds. It turns out the 2 4 band went out on the car resulting in an ability to shift into 2nd or 4th gear. What I anticipated to be a couple thousand dollars for a transmission rebuild ended up being a couple hundred to replace a failed band.I was so happy I attempted to give Rick (the mechanic who worked on my car) a tip for doing a fantastic job. He refused the tip and said my satisfaction was enough......REALLY!!! I was blown away.As other people have mentioned if youre looking for an honest shop that will provide you with great service at a reasonable price look no further than AAMCO in Warren, MI.

I drop off the 2002 Volvo V70 2.4T to this mechanic the whole transmission parts. It would take couple of weeks to replace and install the new transmission as he promise. After the installation is completed, he would call us when the car is ready to pick it up. When we tested our in a couple of months to see the transmission has successfully, but some of it has minor issue to adjust. He still manage to check and see what were the problem be. So we have to wait for another week and get a call if any problem. As for right now, the transmission is running smoothly as should. I highly recommend to tell my friends to visit this place. Nice work.

Bought an 01 Audi and found out it had a trans fluid leak. Was thinking Id have to have the cooler lines or radiator replaced but they were able to replace the bad o-rings on the lines and no more problems. I thought I needed a new transaxle for my 2008 Jeep Patriot, but Dave and his mechanics at Aamco Transmissions Warren found out the problem was actually just a crankcase sensor. Plus, they found out the lower control arm went bad. I thouht I heard some unusual rattling down there. They saved me over $3900! We (my wife and I) love their honesty and keeping us informed every step of the way. We will definitely go back and strongly recommend this auto shop!

If possible would give this shop ZERO stars. Had my car towed in July because it wouldnt start, took about three days for me to get back. Thought my car was fixed. . . WRONG. My car stop starting again. Had it towed there two other times where it magically starts for them. They told me since the car is starting for them they cant know whats wrong with it. What sense does that make . I wasnt getting my car towed for the enjoyment of wasting my money on towing fees . wish I never took my car there the first time.

A little more than a month ago my van did not want to shift properly. I had only had my van for a little more than a month, but I purchased a warranty with it (Thank God!) Many dealerships would not take the warranty because the warranty company was not willing to pay the dealership labor rates. I called Dave at Aamco because we have had work done there before with no issues. He told us to bring the van up with a copy of the warranty. He looked over the warranty and was completely honest up front about how hard this warranty company could be to deal with, but he would help me through everything. Dave called me the next day to tell me that my second gear was gone, I needed a new transmission. He called the warranty company and started everything for me. The warranty company called me and verified all of the information and told me it could take up to 3 days for them to approve the work. The work was approved the next day. Dave called me everyday to update me on the status of my van (the transmission was purchased by the warranty company so they had to ship it to Aamco), and it was completed in just over a week.I picked up my van and paid my deductible, the warranty company took care of the rest.It has been about a month since I picked up my van, and I have had no issues since. My van runs like it is brand new! I recommend everyone to go to this Aamco for work they may need for their vehicle. There is no beating around the bush, they are 100% honest with you about everything. I have a lot or respect for the employees of this Aamco. Great Job everyone keep up the great work!!!

Being referred to Amcco from another auto repair shop made me skeptical at first. After reading through the reviews I saw a 3.9 star rating and nothing but praises! After a long mistrust of small shops I can vouch for their honest work, affordable prices, and courteous friendly service. When Dave called me to explain what was wrong I was relieved to know it wasnt a transmission issue. I can also say that theyre definitely efficient. He told me the part had already been put on my car to make sure it resolved my problem! Amazing work they had my car diagnosed and ready for pick up in an hour! Plus found out they are a COMPLETE auto servicing company so Ill be seeing them for all my future car care.

The owner was upfront and honest with me from the time I walked in the door felt comfortable and relieved with leaving me car prices were so reasonable to the point that I picked up one car and dropped off my suv. As a nurse, I could probably save your life or help deliver your baby. However, when it comes to cars, I know nothing. So when I am dealing with car repairs I am always suspicious. The first shop told me not to bother fixing my car, the second gave me a quote that was totally unreasonable. So I took my own advice and got a second opinion. I went to a specialist who specialty is Transmissions not tires. Dave at Aamco in Warren got my 2006 car running like new and even charged me less than he estimated. Took a 2001 neon to this shop based on their great google reviews. The neon had overheating issues. They kept the vehicle for a week. Finally got it back and they said they could not get it to overheat. Based on their professional assessment I continued driving the vehicle thinking nothing was wrong. The same day I get it back it starts overheating again and having all the same issues and before I brought to them. So then I brought it to a friend who is a mechanic and he found that it has a broken headgasket. Its like this shop didnt even look at the vehicle at all. Waste of time!

Was worried about taking my car to the shop from pass bad experience but I tried these guys and they are great. Had the TCM done on my car here. Great, friendly, honest and accommodating customer service over the phone at this location. My truck required a transmission rebuild and I received a high quote from the first shop I took it to. I called AAMCO and spoke to Dave the Sales Manager. He offered to tow my truck from the current location to his shop free of charge to diagnose the repairs needed and was confident that he could beat the other quotes that I had received. They were able to turn around my truck much quicker than the other shops I contacted and had very competitive pricing.
