Would give 5 stars for the sales side of this review. Rich was very good and no hassle. Bought a lean tractor for my In laws. Picked up on a Friday and broke down on the next day. .6 hours they put in the tractor had oil leaking out filter housing. Called service and the said get it here right away. Couldn’t due to our location. Been there almost 2 weeks. Called to check in progress said oil leaked fixed waiting on a new seat. Seat wasn’t ripped when I dropped it off, as service manager stated that they were waiting in a new seat to come in as it would be replaced under warranty. Well it wasn’t ripped when dropped off. Going to try and call again tomorrow to check on status. Mean time my in laws paid a landscaper to cut grass the first week without the mower and I borrowed my neighbors spare mower for this week. Only reason we knew it was leaking oil is drive belt slipped and mower wouldn’t move. So much for quality control on both dealer and factory. Was told there was no o-ring on filter housing. Hoping it’s done soon. In laws are on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay for someone to cut their 1 acre lot weekly. Please don’t use COVID as an excuse the part I’m waiting in wasn’t the reason I brought but in
Very nice shopping expierance at Middletown Tractor, Roger was very nice to work with and very helpful.
I would like to commend Jason Ross for going above and beyond helping me secure parts and information. He willingly interacts by email and text message. Many times it’s difficult for me to pick the telephone or wait on the telephone but by conducting business by email, Jason can answer my questions as he gets time. Please keep up the good work. Jason, it doesn’t go unnoticed.
I would like to compliment the parts department. Jason Ross has always lead me in the right direction, to receive the right part in a quick amount of time. Any time I have issues finding what I need, he goes out of his way to get me numbers and part. Jason is very professional and a huge asset for the parts department in the Washington store. He is a 5 star employee.
People were polite but got a runaround for 2 weeks. Would keave message for someone and they never got it or returned my call. As for getting parts right away was not in my case. Two belts too k a week. Tractor was done in 2 weeks. Used it for first time after repairs and has the same dam problem. PAID 350 for labor and was NOT FIXED RIGHT.Have been told by numerous farners, owners and people in general that John Deer tractors r junk. Junk or not, Middletown needs to right its wrong and fix my tractor right asap or we have a legal issue!!!!!a week from what i was told.Tractor xame back
I would like to compliment Jason Ross on being such a knowledgeable and professional parts specialist. He is patient and understanding too. It is a pleasure to order parts from him at your Washington store location. I cannot stress enough the importance of experienced parts staff. Thanks
I would like to thank Rich and Middletown tractor sales in Washington Pa.for a no hassle, great, fast, friendly sales experience. I feel I received a great deal and am very happy with the tractor we bought. I will definitely recommend you guys to all my friends and family.Thank you
Good selection of products usually have what I need in stock
Great place. They have a friendly helpful staff. They have a large selection to pick from.
We got 2020 gator and dealt with Roger..he made the entire experience easy..we wanted some additional accessories and they were ordered and on gator when we picked it up..we have used this location for other purchases and service and have always been totally satisfied
I recommend this place to everyone if you have any questions just ask they are the best in the business
They are very helpful the only thing I hated one sales guy on the phone another just looked at me
Unfortunately I had to make multiple trips back to get the correct parts.
Purchased a lawn tractor with hardly any help from the salesperson. They did deliver the tractor earlier than anticipated. However, did not give us the owners manual. When you spend money on a quality item you would expect to be given a manual. I had to call twice with no return call from the salesperson. Not impressed with this business. Save yourself time and go elsewhere. They are supposed to be experts? Not hardly.
We put in a request/application a month ago have called to be told they have to send to someone who can finish. Never got call back. Called again very patient with Keith however again no return call. At this point we have no interests of ever purchasing through this specific one. Locally we have already got a call today within 12hr of a request....disappointed to say the least😒
Has all your tractor supplies you need or can order them.
Rich was very helpful.I will be buying a 570.
Deals can be found
Great place to deal with. Their parts man Jason Ross will go above and beyond to find old, obsolete, or just hard to find parts.
Due to the current situation I purchased my X350 mower over the phone. Rich gave me all the information I needed, and made the purchase an easy process. He was timely in getting me the information, and quote. The delivery was scheduled, and on time. Thank you for the great service, and attention to detail. Great job!
Rich at Middletown was more than accommodating with the covid crisis, he was more than willing to go above and beyond to get me the tractor put together to meet my needs. They have a new lifetime customer, the new 2025r I bought more than met my expectations and was a great addition to my fleet. I look forward to doing more business in the future with Rich and the gang at Middletown.
Friendly staff. Everything you need for John Deere equipment.
Needed a tractor. These guys didn’t seem like they had enough inventory to sell me what I needed. The salesman was all over the board and they didn’t negotiate like other dealers.
Dont attempt to order ventrac parts off them. No one has any idea what you want and get very testy when you give them the exact numbers you need.Ill have mine shipped before i go back. This is not the first time i have had poor service there. Many times since i bought my JD new. Took my money to other brands.
Great service on the sales side. Jacob was very helpful & put together a tractor package that perfectly fit my needs. Delivery was smooth & easy as well even with my crazy schedule. MTS met every expectation I had when buying a new piece of equipment. Hopefully JD has made a quality tractor that will last for many years!
Middletown tractor in Washington pa was a great experience for purchasing a generator and chainsaw and tractor supplies. The parts department was very helpful in finding what I was looking for. Joe did a great job giving me information on what I was buying .The sales team was also helpful ( Rich and Jacob ) in finding the right tractor for the right application. Will continue to shop at middletown tractor in Washington.
They came and picked up my tractor and serviced it and brought it back went out and bush hogged for couple hours and drain plug fell out and lost all my hydraulic fluid then I called them see if they would take care of it they said they would but they said there service man didn’t drain the oil from the plug that fell out that seems odd that after 7 years of owning my tractor that a drain plug would just fall out just right after they serviced it well then I got little upset after they wouldn’t accept they made mistake I guess there service men are perfect if they would said okay we made a mistake I would of been fine with it but. Anyways I found the drain plug put back in my self took care of it and won’t be using middle town tractor service anymore and thinking about trading my John Deere in a different brand tractor so I don’t have to deal with them since there only John Deere dealer close to me
What a great store. Rich in sales was awesome. He help with with every question I had and I still go in from time to time with questions and he takes the time to walk me through it. Parts are fast when you have to order them. Service is top notch.
I stopped at Middletown to get extra parts for a piece of equipment my husband has and I had ZERO idea what I was really looking for. Rich Narus was super patient and helpful as I pitifully described what our equipment looked like and what I was trying to get for my husband. Rich made sure I was confident that I was buying the correct item; He was an excellent listener and was extremely knowledgeable. Would recommend him as the go to sales rep if you’re on the hunt for new equipment or extra accessories!!
Was going to purchase a new tractor but had to go somewhere else and purchase one because no one would wait on us.
These guys are FAST and friendly, from the scheduler to the driver who picks up my John Deere lawn tractor. This is the second year I have used them and they keep me informed of every step. Great job!
Excellent service department. Jeff is reached easily. He kept us promptly informed and spelled out different options for needed repairs. I would highly recommend them
Easy parts ordering. Talked to salesmen and he was a solid dude (literally), no pressure on buying. Thanks
Repair of my 1025R PTO - After having my 1025 for just about a year, I was cutting my grass, when the PTO switch became none functional. Normally I would troubleshoot and repair my own farm equipment. Even though I could tell the switch did not feel right, as I saw it, I did not think I wanted to tackle taking the housing off of the instrument cluster. It was early on a Saturday afternoon. I called the good folks at Middletown in Washington PA, and spoke with Johnathan, the Service Manger. He worked hard to have one of this drivers pick my tractor up late on Saturday. First think on Monday morning, I received a call telling me my tractor was repaired...it was the switch...and they would deliver my tractor that Monday afternoon. When I got home from running errands, (~1;30) The tractor had been deposited at the front of my house. This was great service.
Great place! Was my first visit to them. Easy to find. Was in & out quickly. Had what I needed, and the customer service was great. I believe I may have to make this my new John Deere dealership to go to from now on.
Purchased a farm tractor, chainsaw, trimmer, and a blower here. Will continue to use them for all things needed for my property. 5 stars all the way around.
I was checking in for a gift for a friend. The staff is really nice and friendly. They are knowledgeable too.
No problem getting the new riding lawn mower from Middleton. Forget about getting it serviced though when it breaks and it is still under warranty . Called 4 time and the only answer was we will call you back. No call. At least they could of called and told us something like they were busy or anything. Had to email corporate headquarters with our problem of getting it serviced. Still Middleton didnt come and get it. Corporate had a John Deere dealer, Vernon Dell tractor from East Liverpool Ohio come pick it up to fix it. They were very accommodating. Came when they promised to pick it up. Talked to someone familiar with lawn tractor dealers and Middleton is famous for not having customer service and what happened to us was not unusual. Corporate was also wonderful checking in with updates.
Mike Neely had all answers for me. He did a good demo on how the equipment worked. I think he did a good job on the price. Mack delivered the equipment and did his own demo. Hoping I will not have to use the service department. Time will tell.
Had them pick up my D140 mower after it died in the middle of a mow. They had it for over a week. Got it back, and it stalled after about 10 minutes. When I called to address the issue with the service department, the employee blamed ME saying I didnt specify that it was stalling on me. I didnt know that it was my job to diagnose the issue with the mower that they literally had to push onto their truck from the middle of my half mowed yard because it wouldnt stay running after they jumped it. The employee said the service manager would call me within an hour to resolve the issue...this was yesterday morning and it is now closing time for them for the weekend. Wont make this mistake again and I certainly dont like being told that it was my responsibility to tell them what the problem was!?Apparently they just changed the battery and didnt even test it out. Their credit card machine sure works though! Over $300 wasted.Update: Middletown did reach out to me in order to resolve this issue after making this review. The Corporate Service Manager personally reached out to apologize and make things right.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The prices were also comparable and probably less than other places.
I wrote a negative review a few months ago. There was a communication breakdown responsible for the misunderstanding. Once that was addressed I couldn’t be happier with Middletown with their service during the purchase of a small utility tractor. A special thanks to Matt for his help. I purchased a tractor from Matt 20 years ago and I’m glad I came back!
I have an older John Deere lawn mower that was blowing blue smoke. I called and after waiting a week they picked up the mower. After another week they told me the issue was the carburetor needed cleaning and they changed the oil. That was $200 dollars.I had also requested to get the three belts changed. They got my machine mixed up with another customer and they changed the belts on his unit. After more daily phone calls for which they never return a call they told me that when they did the quality check they stated I had a bad carburetor and it needed to be replace. That cost an additional $185. After more daily calls they finally told me it was ready for delivery. They delivered the unit and put it in my shed. I went to start the unit and all I got was clicks. I called and they stated they would pick it up Monday. Wednesday I called to find out what the issue was and they stated it was the starter solenoid and they would be $35 for the part, some wire and a few hours labor. They called to say it was done and gave me an outrageous price. They called me back and gave me a lower price $193. They said they would deliver after 1:30 pm. They finally showed up at 8:00pm. I drove the unit to the shed to find the clutch does not work correctly. guess another call to get that fixed.Bottom line.1. Over charge for sloppy work2. They lose paperwork so they don’t know what is happening3. They don’t return phone calls in service4. They do poor quality checkingRecommendations1. They need a computerized service system that the customer can go on line a get a status update2. They need a full time secretary on the service desk to contact customers and get the shop organized.3. They need to fix these issues or customers should go elsewhere6/30/18 Followup. The mower deck belt they installed for me 30 days ago broke today. Now I have to either call them to fix it or just replace it myself. Note: I had them change the 3 belts since they had been on the mower for 10 years even though they did not cause me any trouble. Preventive Maintenance. The 3 belt change was $400 dollars.7/1/18 Changed the mower deck belt myself. Took about an hour.7/2/18 Talked with the Manager of Middletown Tractor. They have made several changes since I originally posted my note last month.1. They have a full time person answering the phones.2. They have new services manager3. They are fully staffed in service.4. They are working on a way to provide on line notices to customers about the status of their equipment being serviced.I am very glad they have taken my suggestions seriously.Time will tell but it is a step in the right direction.
Poor people skills need to get their act to gather.
My lawn tractor would not start this spring, these folks picked it up, fixed the problem (mice ate through starter wire) and brought it back to me within a reasonable time for a very good price. The service here is fantastic, I highly recommend!
They did an excellent job in repairing my 41 year old Yanmar Tractor. This tractor has sentimental value to me and they handle it with care repaired what needed to be done and returned a clean and repaired tractor to me. Could not be more pleased
Bought a zero turn last year the 50 hr. Service needed done, thought i would get it done at the shop where i bought it they have had it over a week for regular service oil change filters nothing major. Called multiple times this past week to see how it was going every time i called the service desk no one answered they did call me back twice by then i was off my break from work and couldnt answer that was last week this week i cant even get them to call me back i understand it is just routine service, but i have a 855 that needs some major service was going to send it to shop when they droped off the zero turn but like i said they wont even call me back this week thinking about sending it somewhere else very disappointed with the service desk 😕
Jeff is awesome. Get work, great customer service!
We used to go here a while back but I stopped because of all the goat rope trash that went with the place. I needed a linkage fer my tractor and didnt want to wait all weekend so I returned here. The place was not anything like I remembered it. Staff was friendly and professional and I actually could have a conversation with them. The part I needed was in stock and cost the same as the cheapest one I could find on the net. And the atmosphere was totally different as well having more equipment on display as well as misc merchandise. The Stihl section is no longer looking like an afterthought and looks alot better as well.
My son and I both bought new tractors at this dealer and have never had a problem getting anything we need.
Tried to buy a 700 series garden tractor at Middletown Tractor. I had previously purchased two riding mowers there . The tag on the tractor on the floor was 12,700. The salesman Brian told me that was the selling price. I told him JD was advertising $700 off, he said that was already reduced on the tag. When I disagreed he said let me check on the computer, then said your right and discounted the price $700. When I asked about the financing he told me I had to purchase a $300 dollar insurance policy. Any accessories I wanted he would charge labor to install. I went to another dealer and paid full retail for the same tractor and it came to 1,000 less than Middletown. I bought several accessories and all were installed labor free. The financing, no mention of the insurance policy. Oh, delivery from Middletown was $80. Free from the place where I bought it much further away from my house.
Unbeatable price and customer service! Called all kubota and john deere dealers in the tri-state area, best price by far! Super friendly and went way out of their way to make the deal happen! Will go back there for all of my tractor and outdoor needs. Ask for Rich in sales.
We bought our John Deere tractor here. Ask for Sharon Rodgers in sales. She is fantastic
5075e pto stopped working and they cant figure out what the problem is. Tractor has been down for 3 weeks and Im loosing jobs because I dont have a tractor that runs.
Service on my JD 4610 tractor took OVER ONE MONTH. I was billed for 13.37 Hours. Zach from Middletown contacted me and we have came to an agreement that will restore my faith in Middletown. I believe Zach strives to make the experience with Middletown an excellent one.
Quick to respond to a concern. Fixed the problem and made all parties happy.
While I have had bad dealings in the past that wherent so great if your looking for a Deere look no further this day in age. Won’t find a better dealer. The Washington location is great. Couldn’t be better.
If you need lawn tractor or equipment this is good place to shop. Ask for sharon Rodgers
In my opinion there Over priced and they just want a sale... ur better off going somewhere else
**Edit**I was contacted today by a man in the Middletown Corporate office who had read my review the day after I posted it. He was sincere and apologetic for the experience and offered to refund my costs. I have edited my original score up from 1 star, as it seems they are attentive as a company to customer concerns. I will leave my original comment for sake of transparency, but would like to note the company as a whole is willing to take responsibility for its stores and stand behind their work, good or bad, which can go a long way.**Original**Middletown service was far from satisfactory when I sent my riding mower in for warranty work. They misrepresented their work, gave me a half-hearted (incorrect) solution, and didnt stand behind their work after I attempted to contact them multiple times with proof they didnt fix it, after I had paid out of pocket for repairs.I sent an almost brand new JD E150 (6 hours of total run time) to their service center as it was stalling often and/or not starting. Their tech claimed he tested it for 4 hours, however the run counter only had 2 more hours on it when I got it back... I was told I had used bad gas, and it wouldnt be warranty eligible, and that I owed $300 (including a $100 transport cost) to get my tractor back, but they had emptied and cleaned out my tank and everything was working fine. The gas I had used was fresh from the pump and transported in a brand new container that I bought with the tractor, so this seemed highly unlikely. When I got it back it immediately started stalling again, same as when I sent it in. After doing some more troubleshooting myself I found a piece of shrink wrap, seemingly from the factory that was caught in the gas tank and clogging the syphon. I cleaned it myself and it has run perfectly ever since. After contacting Middletown I was brushed off several times. One manager, Jim in service told me he would look into reimbursement. After following up with him 2-3 more times over a 2 week span I was given multiple excuses and brushed off completely, and forgotten.I understand it cant be proved that the debris in the tank wasnt from the factory, however1. The amount of testing their tech claimed was false2. They claimed they cleaned out the tank, but clearly just syphoned the gas and didnt check for debris3. They returned the tractor with the exact issues I sent it in with, but still felt I owed them $3004. Was brushed off and outright ignored when I confronted them about clearly doing the bare minimum.I would have gladly paid that amount and accepted it wasnt warratable had they done the proper due diligence and actually confirmed they fixed the issue. But when the problems persisted the day I got it back (using the gas they sent it back with!!) I cant accept this.
Fairly knowledgeable but service didnt seem the best. If you want a John Deere go check them out they are still a local dealer!
Purchased my first lawn tractor from them. Sharon was knowledgeable about the products sold there. I asked her why the JD was better than a competitors tractor and she could not give me any type of real answer. (Clearly says she doesnt know much about the industry shes working, Kubota was telling me the differences between their tractor and other brands). She also stated that she had just returned from a trip where she was able to test drive numerous other brands and compare everything side by side. When it came to service to schedule delivery that was ok but troublesome. The woman seemed less concerned with me being a new customer than what she was doing at the time, my sales person did the talking I just stated I needed either a Thursday or Friday for delivery due to work schedule. It ended up being scheduled for 4-4-19.I was expecting a call 2-3 days before to give an estimated delivery window but that never happened. I ended up having to cancel a couple of things and miss a mid afternoon doctors appt because Sharon called me about 1230 said it should be there in about an hour and a half. 2 pm rolled around and nothing the guy finally showed up about 230 pm and at this point Im fuming mad. Had the guy drive it off the truck and I signed for it. Shouldve looked at the fuel gauge first and refused it. I paid nearly $3400 for it and didnt even get a tank of gas 1 bar and it was blinking, I managed to get it parked in my basement before it died.MIDDLETOWN IF YOU READ THESE SINCE YOU DONT POST ALL THE SUBMITTED REVIEWS ON YOUR WEBSITE. MY FIRST MOTORCYCLE COST LESS THAN THIS ABOUT $2800 OR SO AND IT CAME WITH A FREE TANK OF GAS PLUS FREE DELIVERY. I just had my permit at the time and the sun was already down and couldnt ride it home. I probably wont recommend to friends and family. After reading all the reviews on here I wont be getting my lawn tractor serviced here.
Matt Mitchell was very helpful and a super nice guy. I highly recommend dealing with him!
Larry is great to deal with. Will go there for all of my equipment needs.
John Deere parts
I would not recommend this place to anyone rude staff and I was able to buy the same part for halve the price on ebay and had it shipped to my house I will never shop hear and I will let every one know there prices are way over standard mark up thanks
Been trying to get price on replacing my compact tractor but unable to get a firm price and no help getting a model to try on my hilly property, may need to go to kubota
We went when they werent open but it appeared they had a large selection of John Deere tractors and Gators available.
Stihl dealership, has most anything from stihl
The salesman treated me wonderfully I was very impressed
Parts were real helpful. Got out of there a lot cheaper than I expected.
Very knowledgeable folks to deal with. Always have what I need.
Awesome service, Jeff is a good fella
Everyone is very knowledgeable. Prices are little high.
Best place Ever to buy a tractor
Great people to do business with
Recently purchased a x738 from Mike Neeley. Great experience and no hassles or pressure sold me what I wanted and needed
Great people and workplace
Requested they fix/resolve X ... as they could not fix it; instead went on to focus on fixing things they were not supposed to be focusing on. Will never go back - Will never purchase a John Deere ever again. Let the buyer beware!
Staff is a pleasure to deal with. They really care about people
I enjoyed their friendliness
Good work, timely work, good price
Great sales people
Just bought my second tractor from Middletown, the first one lasted 15 years thanks to the service department. Looking forward to another 15 plus years with the new tractor.
