Moving across the street greatly improved La Placita. More space for the grocery area including meat counter. They continue to have good Mexican dishes available with more options and a little bigger dining area than offered across the street. It’s a nice addition to the already diverse block.

This delicious spot is Authentic Mexican Food. It is in the back of a Mexican grocery store, so that speaks to quality and authenticity. Its where actual Mexican people eat, and cook. No disaffected teenager named Brett making these tacos😂 The food is quality and reasonably priced. The horchata is so good, and the special comes with a choice of flavored water in refreshing flavors like Guava, tamarind and melon. Ive only tried the guava, but it reminds me of home. I like the carnitas tacos, and the guacamole is excellent. The three taco special with rice and beans is my current go-to, and I really appreciate that it comes with guacamole, a roasted Poblano pepper, and grilled onions. Its a proper meal. The portions are also commiserate with the prices. Being in the grocery store, smelling the aromas and seeing the brightly colored peppers and tomatillos inspired me to buy some Tapatillo hot sauce and taco seasoning. I used this and was not disappointed. My taco meat smelled and tasted amazing when I made it at home. BONUS!

This is the best authentic Mexican food in town... La Michoacana is a close 2nd, though! Try the piña loca!

Fantastic place! Looks like they had recently moved to the store across the street. This is a legit taqueria. Even serving up tacos on homemade tortillas. Got horchata ✔ Al pastor ✓. Had to shop the store for some conchas before we left. We found the spot for sure! Be back for that Al pastor, carnitas were bomb too
