Mike was sincere and upfront on the first phone call and took winning our business seriously. So, we came to see him before leaving our car in his team’s care.Then, the next day as promised, he had our BMW repaired and ready for pick up and charged us a fair rate for our emergency repair.We typically only take our 535i to the BMW dealership for repairs and this was its first repair outside the dealer. Well, Mike has won our business and we’ll be back here in the future should any of our cars require service.

I’ve been going to Johanns for 3 yrs now. Mike and his team are experts with bmw’s, extremely honest people. I found them after getting a quote from BH BMW to change my battery for $1000, I was shocked! I sat in the bmw waiting area and started googling “bmw mechanics nearby”… found Johanns! All 5 star reviews. I called and spoke with Mike, Mike tells me to buy the battery from bmw (was $217) before I leave and he would install it for $40! I’ve been a very happy client ever since. Great people, super honest and they do quality work!

First and foremost! Forget about just getting your car fix. Most mechanics can pretty much fix any problems as long as you’re willing to pay for it at their price. Unfortunately some are not as honest and they tend to charge you more for services you don’t really need.I’ve taken my car to numerous places in the past and had always felt like I’m being overcharged or cheated. Even places that have high ratings.Johannes Independent Mercedes is a bit out of my way. But let me tell you! Mike is the most honest mechanic you will ever meet. I’ve compared prices with other shops and he always, always tell me what I need and quote me prices that are beyond fair. And the job and expertise that his shop offers is second to none.Believe me when I tell you that Mike is the best. And the care that he put towards his customers are amazing. Bought a used Mercedes from a private seller and started to have issues with it less than a hour after the purchase; went to Johanns, anxious, and he took the time to check the vehicle and tried to fix the issues when possible..while ultimately it certainly requires some work, I find his approach extremely professional and honest, he could have taken this opportunity to simply ask me to leave the car so it can be serviced, but he preferred to help, explain what could possibly go wrong and see if the issues could have been resolved easily. He is a smart man who knows that transparency benefits him on the long run, and thats probably why he has loyal clients and great reviews across the board.

There’s a reason Johann’s has a 5 star rating. Mike, the guy in charge of starting you off, is awesome at what he does and so is his team. They are more than reasonably fair in price, and they are quick at what they do. They don’t bulls**t around and tell you you need extra stuff fixed. Johann’s has been consistent for the last 11+ years I’ve been going there.I needed to get a headlight fixed today and wanted to look for the store hours. I thought to myself, Why havent I written a review”. Hence, the late review. 😜

Theres actually an auto repair place on this planet where the people know what theyre doing and the price is great!!! I have a 2005 BMW X5 4.8 which i purchased new in 2005 and only trusted to Beverly Hills BMW for far too long and until the service there was so insulting both towards my car and to my intellect... (if youre interested in that review, please see my review under Beverly Hills BMW). After BH BMW i hopped from shop to shop until recently while driving, my X5 suddenly just shut down and had to be towed by AAA. The AAA driver suggested Johanns and although hesitant, I concurred. Its a choice I definitely dont regret. Now my auto has a place that cares as much as I do! AND FYI the owner did not ask me to do this review nor did I receive a discount for doing so as many places request!

So far, so good. Dude is honest, fair, and thorough. He Even let me get away with $25. I came back and paid him and hes still extends minor credit, seemingly just when you need it most. Good guy. Great shop.

Highly recommend Johanns. I have a BMW X5 diesel that he has done better with than the BMW shop. They would keep my car for weeks and he has had my car completed in hours for similar issues! Will explain exactly what he’s doing and never adds on anything you don’t need!

Hands down, the best service Ive ever received at a garage. Mike and his team work hard, fast and efficiently to insure that the long line of Mercedes and BMW owners continue to bring their babies to him. He keeps his promises: he finishes when he says he will, it costs what he says it will and he follows up to make sure youre happy with the work. Ive talked to a lot of other patrons while waiting and EVERYONE Ive talked to, is relieved to have such an honest, competent garage to go to. Their prices beat anyplace...ANYPLACE. Mike is warm and personable, as well. I enjoy seeing these guys. NOT incidentally, theres a Starbucks (and a Target) across the street.

I drove over a plastic piece laying on the highway. Though it is plastic, it did contact the underside of the car and made a shock/scratch that can be felt in the cabin.Worrying the bmw plastic transmission oil pan and/or other parts may get damaged, I took the car to Mike for an inspection.It can be felt even over the phone that Mike is a polite and honest individual. He lifted the car up (with wood block so bmw jacking pad is not damaged) and took the under tray off to examine the damage while explaining to me.We found there’s no damage other than superficial scratch to the under tray. He triple checked each screw while putting the under tray back, (there’s about 20 of them). He even took time to tidy up the heat shield which is not involved in the disassembly.I am very satisfied with the way that Mike treat cars, also glad to know there’s no real damage done by the foreign object.

They deserve extra stars--five is not enough. Ive had my Mercedes C-class serviced here and my wifes BMW. Always great service, always quick to get us in, always a good and fair price. Most importantly, this shop is HONEST. They dont fix things that arent broken and give you a straight-forward evaluation. For example, Ive had a couple of items come up that turned out to be warranty repairs. Theyve hooked up the car to the computer, checked the error code, and--without charging me--told me that I should go to the dealer because the work would be free. How many businesses can you say that about? I totally recommend them without reservation.

These mechanics are these five stars! I took my BMW x5 in after leaving another shop which had produced about 20 error codes when diagnosed. they wanted it in for a day to do more diagnostics and literally scared me because of the transmission and drive codes and saying you have a million error codes. Its going to be a lot of work. It just seemed they were setting me up for the harvest. The owner at Johanns performed diagnostics, saw all the codes and told me exactly what the core problem was that was setting off the rest of the codes in 5 minutes! - crankshaft sensor. Because I had talked to a BMW certified guy online I knew what they could charge issued by BMW - 2.5 hours labor plus parts. They did the job overnight (left it there in the evening) and only charged me one hour labor!! when they could have charged 2.5!! HONEST, SKILLED & KNOWLEDGABLE MECHANICS, FRIENDLY, TOTALLY INTO CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND GENUINELY INTO WHAT THEY DO. Highly recommended. Good people doing good things. I love doing business with these guys. I can finally rest. I have a great BMW repair shop close to me and they are totally into developing relationships not just the money!!!

Newly moved here in LA from out of state and found this great repair shop. Very straight forward guys and well knowledgeable mechanics. Price is fair and Im just glad I found this place.

I took my car in for an oil change (no appointment, I called and he told me to come right over). When I got there he got in my car and showed me that there is a setting to tell me when I need an oil change. This being the first BMW Ive owned, I didnt know it was there. He said Im not due for an oil change yet, but showed me something he noticed with my wheels to check soon for preventative measures. He was very nice, honest and fair. He could have just changed the oil and took my money, like most places would, but instead he took time out of his schedule to teach me and saved me money. I will definitely be going back for any services I need for my car from here on out.

A friend recommended Johanns to me a while back and I gave them a call when a fluid leak appeared after a parking lot fender bender. Mike had me come by so he could take a look to see if there were any serious issues / if the car was okay to drive, and when the leak turned out to be Wiper Fluid he sent me on my way with no charge. Literally would not take my money. These guys are great!

Had a great experience here. After I failed a smog test I was told that the problem might be with my secondary air system. I took my benz to the dealership and they offered to do an diagnosis for a hefty cost and explained the problem might be my secondary air system. They estimated the cost to replace the secondary air system would be incredibly expensive. I decided to check out a different mechanic and found Johanns on yelp. I gave them a call and told them my problem and they told me to bring the car in right away. They did a free diagnosis already saving me a ton of money. Instead of just going straight to replacing my secondary air system, they looked at all the different components that could be causing the problem and discovered the problem was the relay system. They explained that my secondary air system wasnt turning on due to the problem with the relay system so they replaced it saving me a lot of money. To make sure I passed my smog retest they told me to come back to the shop before I retest and they would make sure everything was ok with my car. When I brought my car in for the second visit they performed a quick diagnosis free and deemed my car ready to pass smog. I brought my car straight to the smog center and it passed.

Own a Mercedes-Benz, Volvo or BMW? Youd be crazy to have anyone look under your Hood except these guys. Ask to talk to Mike and meet the first mechanic you may have known who is more interested in keeping you happy in the long term than make a quick extra Buck. They make my 24 year old 560SEL run and feel like a new car at minimal expense. Live these guys.

Mike has been very transparent in all his dealing with me. He wants you to come in while he does the work and will even give you your old parts back (if you want them). Runs MB diagnostics so you can see exactly which error codes are coming up and can take a photo for future reference etc. In the past going to other indie shops when the mechanic told me they ran diagnostics I had no idea if it was actually performed or not. His estimate also matched exactly what he charged me (excluding taxes of course).If you have a Benz or BMW that is out of warranty having a solid mechanic you can trust is a must. Conveniently located across from Starbucks and Target so you can work or shop as you wait.

This is the third repair shop Ive taken my 1982 380SL to for repairs, and the team here is wonderful. I never felt cheated, the work was solid, and the cost very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Such a great overall experience. Mike was extremely helpful in regards to my 1989 Mercedes 560 SEL. I needed my radiator replaced, so I took it here - largely due to the fact that the reviews on here were great, but also because they allowed me to bring in a radiator I bought from Autohaus AZ. Other places wanted me to buy from their shop at full retail, so I was able to save a few hundred by bringing in my own part. The car was fixed in a matter of hours and it cost me much less than I expected to pay. Great experience. Mike will definitely be my go to guy when it comes to working on my car.

I had been having difficulty starting my 97 E420 for sometime. My regular mechanic swapped out $500 worth of parts and failed to fix the problem. I brought it to Shant (who I had never met and could not have been nicer or more welcoming) and he had it figured out in five minutes, repaired in 30. Couple hundred bucks and I was out the door with my problems behind me. Fantastic.
