This is one of my favorite restaurants and I’m not even vegan. Recommend the breakfast pizza with coconut creme.. and the blue latte can’t remember the name. My wiser half loves the chips and guacamole.

Ive been here twice because, honestly, I want to eat cleaner. Today I tried their Fun Tuna sandwich, made with chickpeas and beets. It was interesting and tasted very healthful. I guess JOi is somewhat of an acquired taste. My lunch mate said she eats for health, not for taste. I think that pretty much sums it up.

I first started coming to this place years ago before it was as busy as it is now. Their food is okay at best and their acai bowls are yummy. The reason Im giving it two stars is because I dont appreciate the fact that they dont accept cash. There was one instance I only had cash and was turned away. Can you imagine a business turning away cash? I can think of plenty of people who would gladly take my money. My biggest issue is that even when paying with a card, their card reader forces a tip onto your bill. Unless you read their little excerpt at the bottom of it telling you that a certain percentage is added to your bill, you would never know. That really bothers me. I understand they build tips into your bill in other parts of the world such as Europe, however this is not commonplace practice in this country. You have to EARN a tip in my opinion; its not something that should be automatically expected in any way. It makes me very uncomfortable to ask them to take it off, but Im not going to tip just for the sake of tipping. Thats not how it works.

Absolutely adore this place, I make a point of coming whenever I’m in the area. Food is SO good, and they have the best matcha around. Plus the servers are super sweet

So I went to a book signing this evening and after I wanted to try the food, I personally spoke with the owner and ask her if everything they do has garlic since I’m very allergic. She told me there are lots of items that don’t, she said go inside and anyone can help you, well no one knows the Ingradients of any items or at least the guy taking the orders, he said that everything but the smoothies have garlic so I left, he didn’t even bother to ask anyone else. Is sad that not even the owner was there to help.

Really delicious food. The servers were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for this busy establishment. The salads were surprisingly my favorite: well dressed and very fresh produce. I look forward to my next trip to Thousand Oaks so I can come here again.

My first time here. What a great experience. I was able to try several menu items and they all were excellent. I had the taco trio with one of each type. Cant wait to go back again.

Absolutely love this place. The food is delicious and they have a great selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Theyre coffee is amazing also. The staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend checking this place out.

The service is delightful! The staff was nice and respectful. They were very attentive when dining and were helpful in answering my questions regarding specific ingredients used within their food. Regarding the food, the broccoli cheddar soup had a good texture. It wasnt super thick nor was it just a simple liquid. Its consistency was good and taste was the same! Their lasagna is fire. Good portions and a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely a good time to en(joi) a nice coffee during the cold temperature of the evening. Or even a matcha drink if you still enjoy cold in the cold.

The pictures dont do this place justice!So many things sounded good on their giant menu, all vegan! I ordered the Poké bowl And also got some baked goods and jar of lemonade. Couldnt believe how the prices were so low and the food tasted so good. The bowl was huge, it easily couldve been two meals.Everything tasted fresh and healthy and my only complaint is that its far away from where I live and its gonna be hard for me to go back every day like I want to know.looks like I need another reason to drive west and this place is it. Highly recommend if youre looking for healthy foods

When I first visited Joi Cafe, I mindlessly ordered a coffee and the cashier asked for $6. Six bucks for a coffee? The cashier explained that it was a specialty coffee called Pure Joi Classic coffee. One sip and I was blown away. It had rich coffee flavor, some chocolate, whipped cream and other mojo. Wow! Definitely worth $6.The crowd is decisively on the younger, hip side but the cashiers are always friendly and quick to offer suggestions which helps with the myriad of drink and food choices.The cafe, clean and bright, exudes a joyful vibe. There is outdoor seating if you want to bring a four-legged companion. The breakfast and lunch choices are all vegan, organic and gluten-free. But you probably wouldnt know if I didnt tell you.Its a bit of on the pricey side but well worth the quality and service you receive. Plus, I dont mind paying a few extra bucks to eat healthy and consciously.

This is the absolute worst coffee I have ever tasted. Do not waste your time and money.

Gratuity is added to your bill without your consent. Adding insult to injury, they frame it like they’re doing you a favor.

Love this place! I’ve never had the coffee, smoothies, or smoothie bowls, but the breakfast entrees/lunch are bomb! It shows that vegan food can be delicious and healthy, doesn’t need to be fried and greasy to taste good. Bonus everything is not only vegan but also gluten free!! We love the Alfredo, beast burger, joi balls (peanut butter). Their vegan Caesar salad is very yummy too! The prices are a little high, but good size portions and worth it for the food.

Omg delicious! As a former vegan, I absolutely love there menu and meal options! We went for breakfast and I had the breakfast chorizo bowl and my partner had the breakfast tacos. But were very delicious and you can tell the chefs use light salt which is good. I will be back for more!

Came here for dinner with my mom and sisters. Everyone LOVED what they got, each dish distinctly different from the next. Mine was voted the best-lasagna...amazing flavor, texture, and visual appeal! The choices were great, the drink bar was nice with self serve ice bucket and aluminum straw options. We got dessert to go as portions were large. Will share next time. Peanut butter balls were a favorite! Staff super nice and good suggestions. Highly recommend!

Joi cafe is consistently on point. I love the Mighty Mediterranean Bowl. The restaurant is clean and very well run. If you are in the Westlake area give them a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Everything about this place is impressive. Clean, vibrant, huge menu! Got the Macro Bowl, admittedly a generic choice but it blew me away! Vegan or not, you will love this place.

I hate giving any vegan restaurant less than 5 stars but Ive come here a few times hoping it gets better. First Ill say the vibe here is great... Theres a nice outdoor seating area for covid style dining, the staff are nice, the menu varied and the food seems healthy. The food though is just sorta bland. Ive been vegan for 14 years and I know you can have blissful tasting food and still be healthy. For meat eaters who are scared to try vegan food because it wont be good are talking about places like this. We had the hash and sausage and it was pretty flavourless and came with a dry piece of white toast. We also had the pancakes which came with an insufficient amount of maple syrup. We almost ordered the tofu bagel under the recommendation of the server but we saw the lady at the table next to us with it and it was a thick piece of tofu Im between two halves of a bagel. No sauces oozing out. Looked like something you need a lot of water to wash down. Anyway this place seems popular so maybe I dont get it.

The coffee was amazing I will say! Unfortunate that the bags were so expensive or I wouldve bought one, BUT they are fair trade which is respectable and worth the extra price. I got the breakfast tacos and was disappointed in the flavor. There were many ingredients and really expected it to have some flavor. Luckily the salsa really saved it. I just ended up taking most of it home and adding my own flavor. The atmosphere is really nice in here and they have so many options. Considering I only got one food item I dont want to base all their food off of that, but looking at the rest of the reviews a lot of people said theirs was also flavorless.

Dry aged steak that melts in your mouth. The meal was simply delicious. And to top it off, the service was excellent! Our server Raymond couldnt have done a better job. Id definitely recommend giving this place a try for a great dining experience.

It was my first time going there, and I love that they have gluten free, dairy food. The food is good, however, I do not appreciate a non-friendly manner that the blonde lady with glasses portray. It kills the whole vibe, and it suddenly makes me not wanting to come back to try some more. I mean, why would I continue to come around and pay a good deal of money when I have to deal with someone whos gonna bring my mood down? Isnt that what a customer service should be all about?

Everything was nice and clean along with very courteous staff. However it is some of the worst food I have had a restaurant. Where’s the flavor? Especially for the extremely high prices. Every time I have gone I have not gone wow that food was not good. Cute decor though :)

Not worth the hype. I’ve been going here for a few years now and notice that the food is never consistent. Sometimes it’s good most times it’s bland and tastes possibly frozen/microwaved. The manager/owner of joi asked myself and my partner if our food was good and we let her know it was just okay expecting she might ask us why, but without hesitation she left. Overall I’d say save your money and go to sun cafe in studio city because they know how to cook quality vegan food.

Phenomenal coffees and delicious (super nutritious) bowls. Slightly pricy for your typical consumer but still very reasonable considering they offer high quality food with tip included. Will be visiting whenever in the area!

Westlake needed a third wave coffee location and this is IT! Allow Claude to lovingly drop some espresso knowledge on you as he prepares your handcrafted beverage with precision and style. You’ve probably already visited JOi Café for the amazing plant-based food before, but now you have yet another reason to stop in.

What a wonderful place. Healthy vegan food, organic coffee, special chocolate treats. A variety of salads. The balls of Joi chocolates are my favorite vegan chocolates. The owners and staff are friendly, the service is quick and they really care about health. They are also proactive about waste and recycling...they allow me and other local gardeners to gather their coffee grounds for making compost. Highly recommended.

I like the food and the ambiance; however they do not accept cash. New York and other places have imposed bans on restaurants that do not accept cash. I use a credit card to pay for everything because of the rewards but for people that prefer cash, it is unfair.

I love, love, love this place!!! The food is phenomenal and the staff is equally just as great! I have not had one bad experience here whether it be dinning in, taking out or ordering through door dash. Keep up the great work! You are all amazing!

The food was amazing but by far the gold star of this place was the service. the staff was friendly and amazing, and they kept everything taken care of and made sure we didn’t want for anything. I ended up tipping 50% because i was so happy with it. Am absolutely planning on going again.

The restrooms are nice and clean. the servers were so kind and welcoming. the vibe of the building was so nice and modern. but damn the most spiced thing I ate was a bug that flew onto my plate. this is your classic white person vegan place. sausage tasted like bad bread donuts were cakey and nothing had any spices whatsoever. too pricey for bland food

I am thrilled to have found this place! I wont label myself vegan but I will admit I changed instantly after watching What the Health on Netflix. I have not had meat or animal derivatives since. I am also intolerant to gluten so Ive been feeling limited lately. This restaurant is a dream come true!!!! There are so many options to choose from and even my husband enjoyed his lunch! I cant wait to try the breakfast. It was so refreshing to walk into a place and not have to worry about what I could and could not eat! The entire menu is gluten and vegan...what a jewel!! Another plus was that the meals were filling so I couldnt over eat. I will be back again and again! The staff are friendly too!

The food is lackluster,bland and mushy. If they would have focused more on the menu and less on there design. It could have been some thing. It was very pricey. One thing I will say though is there manager is amazing. They are very lucky to have somebody like that on their staff. The location was very tastefully designed. But the menu is tasteless.

I love JOi Cafe, I eat here almost daily and every item on their menu is a win. Their chili is amazing, their baked goods, pizzas and açaí bowls are also sooo good. They have a wide variety of coffee, and it’s really good quality. all their food is delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating, they are low waste and it’s a beautiful space. You’ll see the owner here almost every day so you know your service will be consistently great. Love it here

Ordered a JOi enchilada and specified no nuts due to allergies, but it still had cashew nuts (disguised as an innocent cream). Sadly I ate it and it was sad.

Absolutely delicious. Ive been Vegan for 3 years and this meal makes me feel like Ive been doing it all wrong. Ingredients were fresh, full of flavor, and perfect portion sizes.

Overpriced, bad vibes inside! Just wanted a good latte with nutmilk. Asked the cashier what was in one of their signature coffee drinks. Sounded perfect. Paid $7 plus tip for a coffee drink! Barista guy was arrogant, overwhelmed and got the drink wrong. He remade it. It was still wrong but I didnt want to wait again or deal with his attitude. My latte was supposed to have oat milk and thats all. He put sugar syrup in it. I dont eat sugar. So disappointed. Not worth it at all.

Fully gluten-free and vegan menu! Delicious juices, smoothies, superfood plates, soups, sandwiches, and baked goods. A little bit pricey but food this healthy and tasty does not come around often and is eating food your body loves is worth any price.

Chickun Tacos here are to die for. A little pricey but worth it if you want to do the vegan and gluten free thing. Some dishes here are better than others, but everything is healthy and most are really tasty.

This place has a super cute All things Joi vibe (and My name is Joi, so my companions and I were totally geeking out over this place). Pricey but yummy food offerings (we all really liked what we ordered). Coffee by Calioh Roasters. My mocha was smooth and chocolatey. Unfortunately the staff did not exude the same cheerfulness and fun spirit that the cafe did....strictly business with these gals. Oh well, the order came out perfectly so I guess thats what counts.

First, I have to start out by saying their food hurts my stomach. I think this is because I have a poor diet to begin with but Ive been 3 times so far and each time left with stomachache. Stomachache aside, I would actually go back to Joi because the food is pretty good and my wife likes it. Staff is friendly and it has a cool vegan atmosphere which is unique to the area.

Way way WAY overpriced! $10.95 for a smoothie... Seriously? $4 to add a spoonful of avocado to anything. $3.95 for four triangles of pita!! This place opened in September and itll be out of business by the end of the year if they dont change their prices. My table of 7 wont be back. $107 for lunch... Let me say that again $107 for LUNCH. Ridiculous.

This place does not accept cash, which is a mistake that the ownership admits is a choice. This is a highly discriminatory practice, which has the effect of eliminating clientele that perhaps the ownership chooses to not want to serve. Disgraceful!

I love Joi Cafe. I walk over all the time from my office across the way in a business park nearby. I am a vegetarian who is trying to go vegan. I love the meals, smoothies, snacks, and soups. I get the specials a lot, and I call in to see what the special is. Quality food made right is priceless! Thank you, Joi Cafe! I love your staff too. Jenna is AMAZING!

I wish I could give them more stars! If you are Vegan this is a must. If you are curious about vegan style of food, you have to try this place. But be prepared to go more than once the first week as the menu is so hard to choose from that you have to go back.

Joi Cafe is absolutely amazing! All around it is a wonderful place! FANTASTIC FRICKING FOOD! Let me tell you. 🤤 some of my all time favs are.. Caesar salad is bomb (I get fun tuna or jackfruit instead of soy chicken as I don’t eat soy). The chili is fab. Wow the pancakes are unforgettable. BBQ jackfruit pizza, yum! Basically whatever you order it will be delicious!!! AND the staff there are all so friendly and helpful and always smiling and happy to help and answer any questions! Literally all the staff are wonderful, including the ‘busboy’ who is one of my favs!! Such a gentleman! Can’t say enough good things about this place. If you haven’t been yet then you truly are missing out.

This is my absolute favorite place to grab raw, vegan, and healthy meals and smoothies. They have amazing pressed juice and desserts too. I have been doing my best to try a different meal and smoothie each time we go. Some of my favorites are the Fun Tuna, Super fruit Granola bowl, Rad Thai, The Bob Marley, the Mac and Cheese, Joi enchiladas, Georgia Peach, LL Cool Joi, the chia seed pudding and you have to try their Balls of Joi. The only thing that would make this place better is if we had one here in Ventura.The staff is very helpful and very sweet. The decor is amazing! They also have some odds and ends for sale, like cookbooks and protein powders. I highly recommend this AMAZING little restaurant to anyone who wants to experience the Jois of fresh, delicious, vegan dishes. Its good for those who arent vegan too because the flavors are so tasty you wont be disappointed.Everytime we pass through Westlake Village, we have to go to Joi. Its a special little place 💜💜💜

I will never go here again. I went in during the COVID outbreak, and none of the employees had masks on. I could not believe it. For a restaurant that is about being healthy, they sure dont care about the health and safety of there customers.
