I used to love this shop I bought my first 1911there. After spending 106.23 for 100 rounds of 9mm thinking that was the going rate these days I was ripped off! Just bought 200 rounds for 86.09. These totals are with taxes included. Don’t shop here!! Please do yourself a favor and don’t let this place rip you off! I also can say that if you want to make the drive cabelas has ammo priced accordingly and are not trying to rip people off!

Bought a $100 bb gun and it kept jamming so I tried to return it 2 days later but they wouldnt accept it. I would understand if it was a firearm but its not. Mind you Ive spent about 2 grand in this store in the past between guns, ammo, and accessories. My first purchase there was like $1100. All set with them. And the staff isnt rude but definitely not friendly.

It was exactly what I ordered wish they had put clear tape over the shipping label as it was a no scan once it left Rhode Island and the label is almost unreadable.

Been going for years and dont plan on stopping. Ive bought a dozen firearms from this place and while sometimes prices are a bit higher than Id like, staff is friendly and intuitive. They know their stuff and if I ever have an issue Ive always seen it resolved.

Staff are rude, dont even greet customers. Staff dont even help or talk to customers while looking around. Hoard ammo for customers that only buy their used guns knowing about the ammo shortage. Never have any new out of box firearms. I will never give them my business again.

Over worked rude employees Mean to customers. There are a couple old fashioned guys there that are great to deal with but other than that the service is horrible employees are rude and they only want your money. Support a local business who is in it because they actually love firearms and support the second amendment. This place turned from one of the best gun shops in the area to a money hungry retail store real fast.

I was in the market for a particular 1911. They did not have the one I was looking for in stock, but gladly ordered with a deposit. Their price was the best I could find in this part of the state for this weapon. These people are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, to say the very least. VERY nice store! Yes, its about an hour drive south of Boston, but its worth it. Friendly staff and the lowest prices Ive seen in MA. Picked up a Shield9 for $335 ($260 after rebate). I called them to place one on hold and they gladly did. Will definitely shop again.

Shooting Supply has been a mixed bag for me. Ive had some very good luck there, but Ive also been disappointed too many times after my long ride down there. There is no question that they have had some excellent sale prices in brand new firearms, probably the best south of Boston. If its a popular new gun that you want and youre anywhere close to Westport, go for it! If its used or collectible guns you are after, thats a different story. Shop very carefully and know the market for what you want. Unlike their new guns, dont expect to find any real bargains in used.

Clerk was overworked and shop is chaotic. The owner was there and could care less about his customers. I walked in and waited my turn. Two additional customers walked in after me. The clerk had no idea who to help next and after being ignored once I spoke up saying I’ve been waiting. I filled out my paperwork on the computer and waited while he picked up another customer. I soon found out that the clerk deleted my paperwork and I had to start over as I was pushed aside again for another customer. Chaos and confusion. The owner was soo busy kissing up to 2 regulars to care. In fact I asked a question where the clerk looked over at the owner, repeated the question, and relayed the answer to me. This was all within 5 feet from each other. I have the distinct impression that the owner couldn’t give a care about his new customers. Too bad too as I’m local and doing firearms license classes near him. I make it a point to share my experience regularly. *clap*

Dont believe the obviously false positive reviews using bold in the comments. Everything stated is a downright lie. Its dirty, has inattentive staff, and the selection looks big but is nothing more than the weapons displayed to make it look like they have more.

I went here because of the terrific ratings. Im not sure if it changed hands or not but my experience was not what others have said. The selection was lacking, the service was slow, and they tried to push me on gun insurance like I was in Best Buy. Would not recommend.

Have shopped here before. They were helpful and knowledgeable. Went recently and the staff was rude. Waited for help for over 15 minutes in an empty store. When I asked about a certain weapon I got an eye roll and a sigh. Service has gone down hill. Will not be going here again.

Bought KelTec 2000 from SS few weeks ago only to have it fall apart in my hand at range after about 12 rounds! I visited SS looking and hoping that theyd facilitate the exchange etc and help me best they could...they couldnt be bothered and basically brushed me off and told me to take it up with KelTec. I agree that the issue is 100% with Keltec but SS was very poor in the way they handled the situation!Fyi...Ive had a couple of issues with guns Browning A5, Ruger Red Label and Savage 17. All of these issues were resolved by the gun shop where I bought the guns (NOT SS) without any issues!I recommend taking your business elsewhere...plenty of other options!
