I went in for a wheel alignment inspection. Turns out I didn’t need the alignment but the inspection was free. BEWARE! BEWARE !Do not change expensive parts here-CarX Wheeling, IL!No parts were changed for my car and still charged 525 USD for UPSTREAM Air/FUEL Sensor (part# 234-9133) USD and when I searched online parts cost was mere 50-70 USD. Also they refused to give back old parts or box of a new part. (I have voice recording) .They told me they are buying parts from Nissan and putting in car but they were not able to prove that part was changed. It seems no change was required and same parts were able to work including door handle for which they charged me 80 USD plus 130 USD labor which is ridiculous and even that was not changed as old one was perfect and needed a spring change.My final bill was 850 USD instead of 100 to 150.Where is the honesty these days !!.@carxAuto😡😡😡

I walked in at 945am and they had my car done and on great condition after 1.5 hrs. Service was quick and a great price for breaks. They were professional and very nice people. I recommended this company as top quality and will continue to share their quality work.

I panicked when I saw my tire light come on during my solo trip to Chicago. The people here checked my tires for me without charge.

Avoid this place like the plague. Extremely uncaring unhelpful and greedy. They change managers like you change underwear.I was extremely happy taking my business to Discount Tire on Rand and helped by Phillip.Never will I ever step in this garbage place again.

Do not go here. they will try to rip you off if you do not know about cars or are in a hurry. I went for a oil change, new rotors and pads for front brakes. their specials for premium brakes from $289.97. I asked why am I not getting this and they responded saying this does not apply to all cars (the specials brochure on his desk nowhere mentioned any conditions for cars). They charged $515 for just changing the break pads and rotors (way over priced). Labor on this was insane, you should not need more than 1 hour to change rotors and brakes, they charged me $155!!! After paying so much the brakes squeak when engaged (the mechanical did not bother to clean the rotors after removing them from the packet) Really disappointed.

Highly recommend this place for all your car repairs. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very competitive prices. Will never take my car anywhere else.

Very professional and on point service. Guys that work over there are personable and keep the wait short. They took care of me very quickly and didn’t even charge me for a screw they took out my tire that didn’t need repair. That’s how good business should be done. I had my car at the dealership for a regular service, and they told me my exhaust heat shield was rattling because of a loose clamp. They wanted $75 to fix it. I decided to call around because this seemed like such a minor repair. I happened to call Car-X first, because they werent far from me, and Im so glad I did. I spoke to John and he was so incredibly nice. He told me if its just a clamp, he would fix it for free, just bring it in and hed squeeze me in. Sure enough, I brought it in, he replaced the clamp in 5 minutes, and showed me the old clamp that had broken. And he didnt charge me! Awesome and honest service. I will definitely go back! Highly recommend.

Went in for an ac compressor replacement. Ray made quick work of it and had it back to me 3 hours after dropping it off. I had a flat tire, went to this shop and these guys offer a top notch service. They were simply amazing. Don’t go anywhere else when you need, just go there and you will be amazed !

I took my Mazda CX9 to the reputed and costly repair shops as well with Mazda dealer. No one was able to diagnose and resolve the issue. I ended up paying around 3K but the problem was still persisted. Luckily on 2nd Jan 2021 Car X was open and I called to Car X where the owner John picked up the phone and from the time i first talked to him and today 5th Jan 2021, I had a great experience and John was able to resolve the issue. One of the issue was exhaust central system where i had been quoted 2500 fromMazda dealer, John not only fixed and repair Exhaust but also was able to fix the noise from rear side of the car that none of the reputed or certified car repair was able to diagnose. I got my car multiple issues resolved and that too within so economical charges around 500 bucks. That includes exhaust, brake fluid flush, rear rotors (Rust proof) and brake pads.John and the team are awesome, expert and do not hunt/chase for emptying customer pockets but genuinely help customer. After 2 months, first time i left with happy and smiley face while leaving car mechanic shop.John is very respectful, kind and polite.

Needed a tire checked, they took me right in, looked at the tire, evaluated the issue, found there was really no issue, checked the tire over, filled it, found it was just leakage from little use, (spare tire, full spare hardly used) fixed it, filled it, charged me nothing .... Xavier the manager very helpful, professional and will be getting my business again and again thanks to his work.... Highly recommend this location for any services needed and will be using in the future I guarantee.

I called the guys at car-x because I had flat tire, omw to work. The guys told me to come in that they could fix it for me. They were fast, very helpful and friendly.

My car incurred a flat tire due to a nail puncture. I was able to remove the tire and attach my spare in the late morning. I was able to drop the tire off a few hours prior to noon--and the plug was fixed and ready. Not only did the staff deliver on their promises, but the value of receiving the patched tire--and having installed at an amazing price was a huge relief. Its also clear that the staff has great rapport with each other and the customers. Highly recommend

We had to take a 2006 Toyota Sienna on a long 1100 miles trip and asked Kevin the manager to have it road worthy. Kevin prepped the car back to perfect shape. Being an old car it was costly but well worth it. He explained each problem he had found and what it would take to have had it fixed. Gave us a large discount on a rack and pinion repair and was overall very knowledgeable and gracious about the repairs required. The car drove smoothly and with no issues. Thank you again Kevin and your entire team. A true professional.

My wife had a problem with her car and took it in to the Wheeling Car x she told me how great the service and the manager Kevin was. I needed some work done on my car so I took it to the Wheeling store to see Kevin and his staff . They looked over the car and found a number of things wrong Kevin gave me the quote I could not afford every thing at once so Kevin gave me a list of what should be done first and the order we should do things in for my safety and other peoples safety too.I have been to other shops were they want you to do the whole job or nothing. It was great to find an honest shop in the neighborhood, I started the list and will be back to finish it. All I can say to Kevin and his staff is keep up the good work and I will see you soon

My car was making a high pitched squealing noise. My husband called the day of and the gentleman told him to bring it in, he’d check it out free of cost. It turned out to be a rock caught between the pad and the rotor. He took care of it! No more noise. Super amazing people doing amazing work. It’s refreshing to come across nice people. Great place. I personally did not have a good experience. I brought in my Honda 2019 Insight for its first oil change after buying the car. After driving in for about two weeks, the MPG decreased from an average of 57.3 MPG to 43. I called the dealership and told me that car x probably used the wrong viscosity or filter. I got the oil change done again at Honda and my car is driving better than ever. An oil change is quite simple. Not sure what car x did, but I will not be coming back.

Initially brought my car in for a slow leak on one of my tires. 25 bucks seemed reasonable to me.and they did a good job its still holding air. I asked the guy at the front desk for a quote for shocks and struts for my car...he said $2100.00. I wasnt sure what the going rate for that particular job was so out of curiosity I looked up prices for the parts ..they were under $300 online. And I watched a You tube video on how to install them..looked easy to me ( I am somewhat of a backyard mechanic) so that would mean about $1800 for labor..This seemed high to me, I could be wrong though.

Tried to call and get a quote, because I did not have immediate answers to the questions and needed to look at my notes for a second the person who answered very curtly rushed me off the phone. I will not be calling back.I understand that you may be very busy, and I understand that you need specific answers about tires, but it is not necessary to be rude because I need 20 seconds to look at what I wrote down. If your phone service is like this, what is the in person service like?Update: the regional manager personally called me to apologise for the incident and let me know it was being used as a learning opportunity. Im happy to hear the company is taking customer service seriously and that they are making attempts to learn and improve. I will consider them for future car maintenance consideration.For transparency: I was asked if I was willing to update my review, which I said no to. I did not accept any offers for compensation to change my review, I just find it meaningful that they reached out.

It was ordered but thought it would take a number of hours to get. A staff member drove me to the place I needed to be. When I called for them to pick me back up a few hours later, I was pleasantly surprised to find out my car was actually ready and Kevin was just about to call me. AMAZING!! I brought my car in to get a quote for service after taking it to 3 other places that were quoting me several hundred dollars for a fix. When I was at Car-X they told me it was a much simpler fix of needing a screw put in. THANK YOU! I will be back for my car service needs. Stole my blue nitro caps on my tires tried to over charge me by 1000$ for brakes was rude cause I chose to take my old tires said I needed all 4 tires to later find 2 of 4 were fine. NEVER GO HERE
