This place is the best of the best when it comes to birds. You can learn so much from here. They also have tons of options for food, toys, and cages for your birds. You can also buy almost any bird from here: most of them hand fed! Ive gotten my best friend from here and am currently waiting for another friend. I am so excited! I will ALWAYS recommend this place!

We bought a baby parrotlet hatched August 1st near the end of August. It stayed in the nursery getting great care with hand feedings and we were able to come and visit the bird multiple times a week until the bird was old enough to go home. We also were able to have the bird start acclimating to her cage before we brought her home. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable and as first time bird owners we felt well prepared in caring for her before we brought her home and the adjustment has been smooth. There also is a great option for when you have to go out of town called the bed and breakfast that is in the store and they can care for your birds at an extremely reasonable price while you are out of town.

The only bird shop I actually recommend. Its not a big box puppy mill, but a place that raises some of the best hand raised birds in the area. Might not be able to walk out with your next pet same day, but they would rather make sure that you are ready for the commitment of the care needed. Their bird prices are about the same as the big box store, but they have done more to work with the bird so its half trained before you buy.Out of the 3 birds Ive bought there, 2 budgies and a cockatiel, 2 were very well trained and let me know issues up front for their care. No where really trains budgies, but Id argue that 1 was hand raised as happy as he was.

My son purchased his first bird here. They take great care and time to explain everything he needs to know to take care of his first parakeet. It was such an awesome experience for him.

Super epic! They have lots of birbs (yes, birbs) and they all seem very healthy. They also have lots of babies. I bought a budgie and she/hes doing very good. I suggest to get a bird from here if you are looking for one. :)

Dont take this place for granted! It is the absolute best place for your bird care needs. My husband and I would always go here, until we moved to KC. Nancy is a phenomenal bird expert, and always handles them with so much love and care! John and Angela are so quick to help you with any questions and concerns! We still come to Wichita once a month and will continue to support this small and loving business. We didnt want to drive our birds down for trimmings, but we will have to, because weve yet to find a place in KC, who does it with such care.

Knowledgeable parrot people. The owner trims my birds nails and feathers usually one time a month. There are many options for food, treats, & toys. Everything to keep a bird happy and healthy.

We went in looking for a parakeet and left with a new member of the family and all the information we could have wanted. Very nice and helpful staff that you can feel truly care about the birds. They are experienced and knowledgeable and I will go there for any other bird needs that we have. Our parakeet is very healthy, happy and calm. Nice knowing when he/she was born compared to the bigger stores who (in my experience) know nothing about the birds other than general info. Thanks birds of paradise!

I recently discovered parrotlets at birds of paradise. Of course the first one that I fell in love with was already sold but Angela informed me that they would be getting in some young ones soon. Well the week ago I live got sunshine and she is adorable. Angela and the crew at birds of paradise extremely helpful with information and advice and help and I havent met any of the staff that doesnt have a wonderful personality.

This store has been my familys go to for everything with feathers for over 20 years. Nancy has always treated my family with nothing but kindness and patience. She has spent her life dedicated to feathered friends and her passion, knowledge, experience, and kindness shines anytime she is approached with questions or concerns. The knowledge and experiences that Nancy can share, has no limit.

Love these guys, awesome place for anything bird. Also they have a nice selection of dog and cat food. They make a great one stop shop for all my animals.

We had an amazing experience purchasing a cockatiel. Theres a great process, put your name on a list, then when a bunch of young hand fed bird (chick) come in we got a call to come see if one was the right one for us. After meeting 3 my daughter met her perfect bird match. Then we made a deposit, and came back 2+ times a week to play with her. Whole doing this we learned a lot about our bird and she got used to us. After she was no longer needing hand feeding and her weight stabilized she came home. We had previously purchased our cage so the bird was in her cage weeks before coming home. Weve been back to the store once with her to check her weight and ensure shes thriving.Everyone who works there is awesome and so informative. Angela seams to be the go to person about cockatiels. My husband is hoping to add a macaw or African grey in the future, they have our business for as long as we ha e a bird.

We became bird owners during Covid since we are and will be spending more time at home... holy cow, birds are the best pet! Couldn’t imagine life without them. Birds of Paradise has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff that has helped us tremendously. We have taken our budgies in to get their toes and beaks done multiple times. We get our food and toys from here as well. Unfortunately, one of our birds passed away unexpectedly. We took the others in to have their toes done after as a way to make sure nothing obvious was wrong with the others. The owner always does a fantastic job and helped us figure out what happened with our lost friend. She was very patient with all of our questions, we really appreciate the entire staff. Great place for any and all things bird!

A hidden gem. This is THE best place to get your new family pet, or as they’re called at BoP, your new “kid.” They also trim wings and have a Birdy Day Care with all the works. I would trust them with my own life! Nancy, John, Angela, and all the other employees and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure you and your “kid” feel at home and well-taken care of.

So glad I found this bird store! The workers there are experts on birds and are always very helpful. They will tell you if you dont need something for your bird because they care about their customers rather than the money/sale. The prices here are also really really competitive and they even have used items you can buy.

I love birds of paradise! It has to be your go to for anything bird related. They are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They offer boarding for your birdies. All the supplies you need and of course sweet babies to take home.

Please dont clip your birds wings before you send them with a customers. My new bird accidentally got out and was killed instantly by my little lap dog it couldnt fly to any safety. They need to be able to have some flight to protect themselves. Even when I first brought her home she couldnt get anywhere except the floor of her cage because she had no flight. Wings could be trimmed list still allows some lift. I am heartbroken. I have other birds and none have ever had an issue with having less trimmed wings.In response to your response...this was not my first bird. I have other birds. You clipped wings before it left the store.

Picked up some bird seed for my Lady Friends Cockatiels, first time visit to this store, they were friendly, courteous, VERY knowledgeable and the in-house seed they blend is TOP NOTCH! No corn, no added sugar. Thank you Birds of Paradise!

The employees take the time to really talk with you, answer any questions and vet potential adopters instead of just letting anyone walk out the door with one of these beautiful creatures. They have a true love and respect for the birds and they do everything possible to ensure that the adopters are aware of the advanced nature of bird care, and prepared to provide a safe, stable, PERMANENT home for their new bird. I trust them for boarding (which mine are being boarded for the second time right now actually), for all of the grooming needs and especially for their FOOD! They have the best selection, they will hand mix varieties per your birds unique needs or preferences, and the cost is hands down the absolute LOWEST and even lower than online prices! The boarding cost is also so surprisingly low that I can afford to board my two any time I do even light home renovations, just to stay on the safe side and keep their sensitive lungs healthy. :)If you are even just considering adopting a bird, go in to visit. You will get all of your questions answered by friendly bird experts. Plus, you get to visit all of the birdies at the store!

I have a little budgie, and they gave a lot of good information about him, and answered my questions I had asked. The bigger parrots are on perches around the store and like to communicate with the people they see. They offer a trimming service for all birds, where they do the birds claws and optionally, the wings. If you wouldnt want your birds wings to be trimmed, all you have to do is specify not. They sell a plethora of different perches and toys and food! You can tell the genuinely care about the birds.

Our African Grey bogie spent 10 fun-filled days at bird of paradise I would highly recommend them for not only their bed and breakfast for Birds but for their services and their large variety of toys and feed this is I think wichitas number one bird stop. While youre there stop by the nursery and look at all the new baby birds that will soon be for sale then step into big bird room and see all the other birds for sale.
