It was quick and easy. I did my app and paid over the phone. When I got to the place I verified a few things and I was able to store my items in my unit with a free lock. Thank you and also to the man that helped me get it all finalized thanks. Prices are very reasonable as well.

After two rate increases in less than 18 months I had to cancel. $181 for a 5x15 is ridiculous. Lance was friendly and helpful at the time of renting but I dont feel I properly understood how quickly prices would increase. Everything was clean and safe, and we never had any issues with the location.

This was my first time renting a self storage unit and it was a simple and efficient experience. I completed the paperwork online in advance. Lance, the manager walked me through the paperwork and what was needed to properly store my items. When I arrived at the unit Lance showed me how to use the secure gate to gain entrance to the storage units and showed me how the locks work. Our storage needs changed suddenly and we needed to add another unit which Lance was able to provide. The units were clean and I was very happy with the customer service I received.

Lance was extremely helpful in getting me into the correct size space. He worked with me when I didn’t know what I needed and was so patient! He also showed me how to use the gate, locks, and get my movers to my unit. Highly recommend thanks to his service!

This was by far one of the most easiest and positive transactions I have experienced. I wasn’t sure if they were open on Labor Day so I called. Their phone service took the information and passed it along to Lance. That is when the experience became customer friendly and customer first. He called me and let me know what to expect when I arrived. My son and I came in about an hour after we had planned, no problem. Lance greeted us and immediately made me feel as though we were a priority. We told him what we needed and he delivered with options, no pressure, just empathy driven answers. We felt comfortable and his attention to detail was appreciated. Side note was his pandemic preventative actions were spot on and made the transaction that much more seamless. Office staff is pleasant and helpful.Lance is a star!

Great service and a great value. Does not offer key holding service any longer at this location for deliveries or other people who may need to access your unit. Staff are not always present, youre expected to schedule appointments. The Lot has some damage to the pavement in one area that is a high risk to your tire as you come around a corner. Im told the company frowns upon customers being at their units for hours on end, as they dont want you running a business out of the unit. If an 18 wheeler really needed to make a delivery here though, it should be possible, as there is a rather wide street leading into the unit with little to no traffic that ever uses it. A USPS dropoff box is conveniently located on the street out front as well.

Highest prices in the area. Probably why they were the only ones with availability. 6 months into my rental they raised my rate from $126 to $174 without notice. I was told by the local employee that they will raise it again that much in 6 more months from now. I’m good ✌️

Ive had my unit for just over 2 years. All of my belongings were still in great shape, no water damage, nothing missing. Customer service was great. Move in and move out was smooth. Highly recommend Extra Space Storage!

Me and my husband have had a unit at the Extra Space Storage in Mentor for almost two years now. We have a 5x10 unit and are paying $105!! That’s absurd!! Spoke to the manager on duty about why we can’t get the web price of $35... after a 10 minute argument about the manager not being able to find our account (spelling our name wrong though we spelled it out multiple times) she went on to tell us that we have had 2 price increases and just received a third; And that the web prices are for new customers only.. so my advice to new customers is: SAVE YOURSELF. $35 seems wonderful until its $60... then $80... then eventually over $100!! Definitely not worth the price for the spiderwebs and no air conditioning. Poor management... even poorer prices!

Lance was wonderful for the move in, however for the owners - 1) the lock that I MUST purchase is way too expensive and 2) You shouldnt have to choose whether you want to pay the admin fee or get 1 month free. You should be happy people are coming to ESS. How much do I get paid for signing the contract????? So instead of paying $53, I needed to pay the $53 plus $24 for admin fee and of course tax. Lance was great, but I wont be telling people about ESS

The facility and unit is nice and they give you a good deal at first. But once you are in they raise your rent every year. I have had the unit two years and my rent has gone up each year. Cant wait for my new years reward of a rent increase next year!

Stay away from this place!!! My daughter rented a storage space from here not even 3 and a half years ago, and her rent has gone up almost 3 times as much as when she first rented it!! Plus, right now, they are showing on their website the same size storage space for $63.00 less per month!! And, if you look at most of the reviews for this place, most good reviewers only have one (maybe 2) reviews.. fake!

It was super easy. i had just ended my 2+yr relationship with my GF whom i lived with. i needed to get out fast and needed a place to put my bigger furniture until i could figure the rest out.i looked online, found a unit, reserved the unit, met with the mgr, saw the unit, and paid for it all within a 24 hr period. it was all very easy and pleasant.i would highly recommend.

I like having access to my belongings 24/7, the security gate process, using my own lock on the door of my unit and the people there are very accommodating.

The staff was pleasant and courteous, and Im saving a bunch, over my last storage unit, even when the full rent price kicks in.I wrote the above immediately after renting. This morning was the first time Ive needed to use 24 hour access since getting the unit. This access was promised to me when I first rented, so I was disappointed to see that it had not been set. Ill be calling today to get this resolved, so my rating change to 3 stars from 5 stars may be temporary.

My wife and stopped in to inquire about a short term rental in a storage unit as we prepare to relocate several states away. We were expecting to be met by an employee that was frustrated that we were walking into their business near closing time, we were pleasantly surprised! Lance met us outside with a friendly smile and welcomed greeting. He took us into the office and explained all of our options and helped us weigh out the best one for us. Be prepared for your rent to go up at least once a year. Sometimes twice. And sometimes without notice. It was a nice surprise to see my in my bank account that my rate went up $42 since last month. No email or postcard. Thanks for that! Started at $90/month and now over $200. Ridiculous.
