I spent the weekend trying to find a quality, but reasonably priced, mattress and probably hit 75% of the mattress and/furniture stores in Wilmington. After dealing with too many pushy and/or uninformed salespeople, it was a relief to walk into Mattress Capital on College Rd. The salesman was friendly, clearly knew his products, and we had a nice conversation about how much he enjoyed working for what I was happily surprised to learn is a local, family run business which is what I am eager to support these days. I got a very well-made (in the USA!) mattress that suited my particular sleeping needs for a very fair price. I got a new mattress with cooling gel, an adjustable base, AND a headboard for less than I was quoted for just a king mattress and foundation at a store down the road. Our mattress is great and at a fair price. The reason for the 2 star rating is the company’s lack of customer service of any kind. We brought the mattress home ourselves because it came rolled in a box. However, we had to have the box spring and frame delivered. The delivery didn’t take place on the agreed date and no phone call to reschedule. It did show up the next day unannounced. We asked the delivery men to leave it on the porch so we could limit our interaction. We brought it in and took the plastic off and found it was damaged. I called Bobby to see if it could be replaced. He spoke with the warehouse and they said we must have done the damage. Really???? Then they said it’s their “policy” that all sales are final on box springs. I asked Bobby for a price adjustment for keeping the damaged piece. No. So, I’m stuck with it and disappointed. They have a “policy” about returns but there doesn’t appear to be any customer service policies. I asked Bobby to have his Manager call me. That didn’t happen. Foul Mattress Capital!

I love Mattress Capital! We went in over the weekend and got a super comfy mattress with cooling gel and pillows to match for a great deal! I really wanted a Tempurpedic with the cooling gel but just could not stomach the price. The manager there got us a great deal on an MLILY mattress that feels just like the Tempurpedic but was much more affordable. We got the mattress and the adjustable base for less than the price of the Tempurpedic mattress only! Delivery guys brought it the very next day and removed our old mattress and box spring before setting up the new one. I cannot thank the team at Mattress Capital enough for making this process so easy.

We were long overdue for a new mattress. Joint pains, backaches and other issues were manifesting because our current mattress was 11 years old. We stumbled upon this store and met Devon 10 minutes before store closing. He kept the store open longer for us to try out mattresses. He engaged us in conversation, kept us laughing and told us if we needed to take a few days to make a decision it was okay. He quoted us a price that we couldnt refuse. He quoted us a price that no one else could match. My husband went back 2 weeks later a day or so before Hurricane Dorian and got the mattress. Devon wasnt on site but he still honored the price quote. My husband nor myself have had any aches/pains since getting this mattress. This is a chain store with a mom and pop feel to it. The customer service is amazing. Devon gave us just the right amount of attention and didnt leave us completely alone to meander through all the samples on the floor. Thank you Devon for all that you did to help us. My husband forgot to get the matching pillows so we will be back in a few days. Give this man a raise, bonus and some extra time off.

We have an adjustable base that recently stopped working. Since my husband is disabled, it is very important for that to work properly for him to get in and out of his bed. We contacted Kenny, the district manager, and he very promptly contacted one of his employees, Evan, who came by and was able to reset the bed and get it working--and it was late in the day on Valentines Day. We so appreciate their prompt and courteous response to our dilemma.

I spoke with Crystal, who was very friendly to me, even though I looked wild, I was hot, and was probably wearing a metallica t-shirt. I was pleased that she immediately helped me find exactly what I had in mind. Since I was not ready to make a decision right that moment, I told her thank you, and she was not pushy at all. I had actually found a deal somewhere else, but felt better about the experience with the mattress capital, and the bed that she had shown me, that I felt that I really wanted to go back there. When I arrived, the associate was helping another customer, but actually acknowledged me politely, even while helping her. The customer had many questions, but he answered all of them for her very professionally. He even carried an item that looked heavy to the car for the customer. When he came back, he was very pleasant to help me. His name was Devin. He actually helped me to find an even better mattress for only $50 more, and I am so thankful that I took his word on it. Back problems that I have had for years is going away more every day now. I am so thankful to them, and have been thanking them every day that I wake up and every night I lay down. I have even found myself daydreaming about this amazing bed. I am even thankful for the kind delivery men, who came back to RE deliver after I overslept my alarm and missed their delivery. I purchased a matress in December 2018,It was ripped on the belly of the mattress. I didnt see it until I moved a few days later. Upon calling the manager was very unprofessional(all he had to say was there isnt anything he could do) instead blabbed about every bogus customer that complains and hung up on me. After going to the store he said email a picture and he would take care of it. I never heard another word, customer service is just non existent here. Very disappointed
