Island computers off of market street has so much in stock compared to some places, but the man will hays makes that place even better. That guy knows anything you need help with on your computer. Spent about an hour there chatting with him on what I should get best efficiently to cost wise and my computer started working again and runs so much better! Will be back for sure 👌

I had a serious problem with my main business laptop not booting up. I called and then brought it to Nathan and he had a quick sec to open it up. This guy is AMAZING! He trouble shot this thing in less than 10 mins and with some new upgraded memory Im back up and running. I can NOT suggest highly enough to give them a shot if you need something repaired or upgraded. Im super appreciative and they will be the go to from now on. This year I decided I wanted to finally invest into building my first pc. Lacking both experience and knowledge, I was a bit intimidated with the journey. I gave this place a visit, and I met Nathan, who then introduced me to William. After explaining my intended uses for the pc, William tactfully described to me each individual part that would best suit my needs. After completing my build, I ran into an issue with boot, and had no post. After calling Nathan, he said I could bring in the rig so they could troubleshoot. The very next day, William calls me to inform me there was an issue with the motherboard, and they were able to resolve it. I was able to pick it up and take it home. From start to finish these guys helped make the entire experience a great one. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a good group of people who are gonna take care of you, whether it’s just a part you need or if you’re looking to start a build.

This place is amazing from new parts to old they seemed to have pretty much everything at a good price I asked for a very old chipset processor and they brought out three options.

Well I got to tell you these Guys are awesome.!!! They built the PC I needed with all the extras I needed and then some. I got home connected it all up and BANG !!!!! works like a charm. So this place is awesome! I saw the great reviews online and made the drive from Sneads Ferry to use them. Needless to say I was not disappointed! They built my computer for me within days and gave me updates all along the way. Their honesty is the best part of this place. They told me up front some of the issues they might have and that I might need to do a few more upgrades. This was before I have the computer to them so it wasnt like they were trying to swindle me. I really appreciated that. Their employee William was also very helpful exposing everything they h ad done to the computer so that if there were any problems Id know where to look. This place is the place to go for all your computer needs!

Came in for a ryzen 9 they had in stock. Ended up being a great price even better than online. They seem like very knowledgeable people and will stop you from buying unnecessary or incompatible parts vs just taking your money and not caring. Would highly reccomend.

TL:DR; I would buy from them with a 10% increase in MSRP and still walk out happy. Great inventory, knowledgeable & HONEST employees.The best place in town and South Eastern NC. You can tell that everyone in the store has a passion for computers. You wont find quality service anywhere else. Better than Geek Squad, and they dont even try to up sell you a useless overpriced warranty service!Every time I call I get an answer from someone with experience in store. I am very experience with computers so my questions are way more in-depth and advanced than the typical user. Even if I find someone who doesnt know the answer they always seem to have another person with more experience in the topic.Another thing to point out is they care about the customer, at times I am plagued with the impulse to spend. The employee caught on and recommended that I think about it for the day before spending $2k on another build.As for their inventory this isnt a problem as on occasion they will have some high end parts available. (when RTX first came out, they were fully stocked on cards in the range of $300 - $700). If you are like me, looking for the $1k+ GPUs they will need to get it shipped to the store first. They also have plenty of SOHO networking items in stock.

I feel like a kid in a candy store I didnt know this little gym was around in town to get quality computer parts and knowledge. I wouldnt go anywhere else if youre looking for someone that really knows computers and how to build them but theyre not huge on pre-built And nobody should be because you overpay for less. I recommend everybody stop in that has computer interest

I helped my son with his first build and it was so much fun working on this project together. We thought we did everything right. One wrong connection threw the whole thing off. The staff at Island Computer Systems were so friendly, helpful, and informative about our issue. They were able to pinpoint the problem and educate us on different components. Great store! They had the motherboard (ASRock), CPU (Ryzen 5) and RAM (Corsair DDR4 RGB) that I needed to upgrade from my old AM3 board and CPU. I was going to get all the upgrade parts from Amazon but I knew there was another computer store here in town other than Best Buy. Im glad I went to Karatech, they have more computer parts in stock than Best Buy! Awesome! Now of course all those parts are cheaper on Amazon but this local store had prices pretty close to Amazon. I also got advice on my upgrade and that worked great. Shop local when you can!

These guys came through in a great way for me when I was building my first computer. I couldnt get it to POST because there was a compatibility patch of some sort needed for the processor chip to work with the motherboard I had - or something like that, Im not the expert, thats why I brought it to them - and in the process of getting it sorted out for me they also did some EXCELLENT cable management for me. My first computer went from an expensive paperweight with a vipers nest of power cables going through it to a working gaming rig thats still going strong four years later. As Ive needed any help with power adapters, monitors, monitor adapters, the guys at Karatech have been super patient and super helpful.

I was not happy with my purchase i RIDICOULSY had to pay 150$!!! for 1 monitor (aka) Asus 60hz and a 5 millisecond response time erverything was overpriced and did not enjoy it.

James is going to my Moms place, picking up her laptop, diagnose it, if need be, back up her docs and photos then return it to her. He said he will not reformat it without permission. He will back those files up for Mom.Mom has written many books that are on Amazon. I was concerned with how long has it been since she back these up. They will return her laptop once these are done.Thank you James!I live over 1,000 miles from MomWill update this after the work is complete.

A great, trustworthy computer shop. I trust these guys over anyone in the area. I went inside to check things out about a year ago... Fast forward to today and they still remember who I am. They have a well stocked inventory of parts, cases, and computers for sale. Everything I would need is here. Lately Ive brought in a computer to sell to them and Ive got exactly what I wanted in the asking price. While I was there I bought 2 servers from them. After some tweaking (its a server) both servers are working flawlessly without problems.Their knowledge is well spread out through out the staff. You can also depend on the information they give you.The prices are reasonable, you can find the parts cheaper on the internet (5-15% cheaper), but if your not familiar with computers, then going to Island Computers would be your safest bet and youll know the extra money was put to good use.

I own a small computer repair business myself and Ive always used Island computers as the place to go when I need to buy parts for a build. Recently I purchased a motherboard on Amazon only to find out that the motherboard was bad. There was no way for me to recoup my losses because I didnt purchase the insurance that was provided with shipping and it was a non-returnable item from the seller. This computer was up for a raffle event that I held a couple of days ago for customer appreciation day. A customer won the computer only for me to find out before giving it to them that the motherboard was bad. I thought I was screwed I brought it to Island computers just to double check to see if it could be repaired because sometimes its good to have a second set of eyes to see what I might be missing. To make a long story short they confirmed that the motherboard was bad and that the wrong CPU was put into the motherboard. So they went above and beyond and offered me a replacement computer at a lower rate than the cost of the computer. I gladly accepted the offer and now I have a happy customer who won an awesome build and Island computers has won a long life partner and customer with me. I will from now on only go to Island computers for parts that I need. I thank you guys so much! you guys are great! Ill see you in the next couple of Fridays.

I just had a great experience at Island computers and I know very little about computers. I went in there very confused and with not much money to spend and the guy behind the desk (Nathan) was a god send. He was super friendly and as soon as I asked for help he walked right around the desk without hesitation and asked me what I needed. This is the 3rd time Ive been in there and every single time they have been super friendly and knowledgeable. I just got back from there and I was so happy with what he helped me pick out that I wanted to give them a 5 stars. I dont see any reason to shop anywhere else for my computer needs. Thank you to Nathan and the rest of the staff there, you are awesome!Edit: They just helped me again and I wanted to add this to my review. I went in with a mic that was broken out of the new packaging. it was functional but a strip on the out side was falling off and not something I would pay for as new. I was sure they would help me but I was impressed with how much they went out of their way for me. Nathan helped me get a new one, but this one was a little damaged too. So, because it was functional, Nathan gave me the better looking one and a 50% refund. Every experience I have with them is always above and beyond expectations. I was having problems with my computer and I decided to bring it into Island Computers. They fixed my computer for just a little over 100 bucks when HP was planning on charging me close to 500. I also got the computer back the very next day, if you have any type of computer problem, this is most definitely the place to go.

I was charged for unnecessary services I never requested. A bad power cord does not require any additional virus scans or clean up, especially if it was done while in your shop 2 weeks prior.

I took my laptop to Island Computers yesterday morning because it wouldnt charge. They had it fixed the same day AND delivered it to my work! I was impressed by, not only the promptness of their service, but also their integrity. I thought that both my cord and the jack were messed up; BUT seeing that only the cord needed replacing, they advised me not to spend extra money on the laptop itself. I recommend Island Computers, especially Johnny Cribb, to everyone for any computer-related needs. Johnny went above and beyond and truly exceeded my expectations.

I went to Island Computer with my HP computer that was malfuntioning. I was greeted by Marlon who was very helpful right from the beginning. His wisdom of computers far surpassed mine yet he was able to explain everything he was doing for me. I was kept informed of everything that was happening without having to call them (they called me), and when completed I was charged what I would consider more than a fair price. These guys probably get tired of me... I go there quite often to buy replacement parts for my home business and lab server builds.In most cases their prices are reasonable for a retail outlet, especially when (like I am most of the time) you are in a bind and need it Yesterday.My only negative thought is that prices are not displayed on anything and I always have to ask, so at times i feel like im bothering them.

Waste of time and money. Took the computer in for diagnostics and told them three possibilities that might be the problem. The answer they gave me at the end was the same as what I told them. I will never go there again.
