Recently my shopping experiences at Kay Jewelers have been excellent. The staff is definitely more professional and knowledgeable. The warranty program that is offered has been exceptional. The quality of the jewelry is better than most.

My fiancé David and his family have visited this location and purchased from them for quite some time, in fact the employees know them by name. However, when it came to our wedding rings and bands we did not get an experience I want to remember. The sales woman we worked with helped me choose my band which I loved, when I came in to try it on with my ring it turned out that the bands wouldn’t work for my ring and for what I wanted I would have needed to move my diamond. This made me feel like she just wanted to sell me a band and let me leave the store without consulting with her manager who really knew what would work. I ended up not getting a band. Then I realized that my band was shaped crooked. On top of all of that, my 3 carat (apparently top of the line) ring has a chip in it. My fiancé’s band was engraved with a font that I didn’t even approve of and it had a scratch on it. All awhile, I’m driving an hour away making multiple trips with less than 30 days until the wedding. My finance wanted to return his band and just part ways with Kay jewelers but they would not allow him to return his band even though he’s purchased a new one. If you want someone to help you pick out a ring regardless of the sale or price, don’t come here.

Very unpleasant salesman. Lost an potential sale within seconds of speaking to me due to his attitude and demeanor. Probably judged me based off my appearance and age and figured I was a waste of his time. Likely the last jewelry shop in independence mall I’d spend my money at after today.

I had a rough experience with an associate that was aggressive in sales for their highly priced warranty. I spoke with a manager that apologized and was polite and understanding. I will not be shopping at Kay’s in the future.

My daughter brought her engagement ring just to be cleaned and polished and the rose gold was polished off. Today is bridal pictures and she had to get another ring, taking her memories from her engagement ring! It doesn’t stop there, they can’t get the ring sized for the bridals today. Had the nerve to say “can you push the bridals to another day” REALLY!! If Di or anyone at this store says they “understand “ again, I can’t promise what I will do! They have ruined one of the most important days of my daughters life and it will never be forgotten! I don’t recommend Kay Jewelry for anything! We trusted a company that has been in busy for years and they screw it up! Just a cleaning is all we wanted, nothing more!Thanks for nothing and ruining a very important day for our family! Stole memories, and brought tears on a day that should be filled with Love & Joy!

My fiance went in store to order my engagement ring and was planning to propose on Valentines day. Mary promised him the ring would be shippedand at the store to pick up by that day. the night before the planned proposal she calls to tell us that the ring wont be here for another week. Both of us were very upset that she lied instead of being honest to begin with. The ring took over two weeks from the date originally planned to arrive and she didnt even say sorry even though she ruined our special day. I will never shop at the Kays again.

My frustrations are all related to a watch I trusted them to service. The hands on my watch had been free moving for sometime, so I brought it to them for repair in May. Late in June, they had gotten my watch back to me (they had to send it to Citizen for repair). Less than a month later, I experienced the same issue. I dont live in Wilmington, so it is a pain for me to go back to the store. I chose to go back anyway, and had them send it back under the warranty. A month later, I got it back again. Less than a month after, the same issue again. I have now sent it off again, with a projected return date of 2/13. Call them on 2/15, and they “don’t have any idea when it will be back and they will just call me”.Poor overall experience. I’ve been to their store at opening time 3 different days and each time they have opened 10 minutes later than everyone else. Open at 10 should mean just that, not whenever you feel like getting around to it.I generally feel like I am troubling them and really don’t plan on going back to their business except to pick my watch up for a final time. I would rather pay to have it fixed correctly instead of continuing to have them do nothing except waste my time for free.

We ordered two wedding bands with shanks on Dec 15th 2019. They were put on our credit card and promised to be delivered to us by Dec. 31,at the latest.It is now January 8th and according to Di ( store manager in Wilmington N.C., absolutely no progress has been made on the rings, nor did anyone even bother to notify us there was a problem.We contacted Di today who had the gall to say she had been respectful of us (even though she didn’t bother to notify us). She said she had been on vacation:: Great customer service!Apparently — according to her— if we want to cancel the order we now have to come to the store to do this!The least you can do as a renowned store, is to re-instate the amount on our credit card without further imposing on us.

My wife and I took our rings to get sized and have the rhodium redone. When we first arrived they could not find our order even though I told them the specific store and month and year the rings were purchased. I took the rings in on Labor Day because we knew we needed them back before the 21st due to our bridal portraits being scheduled for then. We were promised the rings would be back in time. On the 17th we received the email that the rings were back and since we were told that they would call us we waited till the 18th before going to pick them up. When my wife arrived to pick up the rings she was informed that my engagement ring had been sent back due to it being damaged during the process. They swore the rings would be back by the 20th and that if they weren’t they would drive to pick it up and bring it to me. On the 20th I had not received a call or email so I called the store and was shocked to hear that I had been lied to and they could not drive to pick it up and the rings would not be back in time for my bridals. They told me to reschedule them when I had already paid my photographer who was coming from 4 hours away and my hair and make up stylist and taken of work for these portraits. They offered to exchange my ring which had so many memories but I went with that offer because they once again promised they would have it to me before my bridal portraits. Saturday morning as I am on my way to Hair and makeup I get a call saying that there is no way that I will receive the rings by the time I need them. And asked again to reschedule. I have never dealt with so much incompetence any where else. I was lied to so many times. The area manager was rude and not a pleasant person to work with. I will be calling home office and filing a complaint everywhere. It’s now Monday and I still don’t have my rings or my bridal portraits which now I will have to take another day off work and pay more money to reschedule. I will never ever do business with Kay Jewelers again once I receive my ring.Update: On Monday my wife went to the store to find out that the ring that was supposed to be sized locally was sent to Virginia Beach. When I arrived after taking additional time of work they said the rings had already been sent off since the area manager had spoken to us and we authorized it. The last thing I had told the area manager was that I didn’t want to speak to him so why would I speak to him and authorize the rings being sent back to the place the messed them up to begin with. Once I finally spoke to the area manager mark he stated that I hadn’t authorized it and he didn’t know what I was talking about. Long story short after leaving yet again without my rings I got a call with a tracking number when I asked when the rings would be getting shipped I was told Monday at 4pm. Which was shocking because when they called Virginia the rings hadn’t arrived there yet and it was noon. The rings had never left the store to our surprise. Mark the area manager is a liar who doesn’t stand behind his employees or the company. He will throw everyone under the bus to make himself look good. I am so disappointed with this whole situation. I now am taking the rings to a local jewelry store and pay money out of my pocket to get them sized and done correctly.

The Iredell County Sheriffs Office, along with Sheriff Darren Campbell, are deeply saddened at a situation involving a fellow deputy yesterday in Statesville.A uniformed deputy, while on his lunch break, was notified the engagement ring he had purchased for his upcoming wedding proposal, had been sized and was ready for him to pick up at Kay Jewelers located on Turnersburg Highway in Statesville.The deputy took his meal break to pick up the ring, and was met at the door by the store manager, who informed him he was not allowed to wear his service weapon while on their premises.The deputy informed the manager he was in uniform and his marked patrol car was in the parking lot, and it would be a violation of policy for him to remove his service weapon while in uniform.This policy is in place for not only the safety of the deputy, but the general public as well. The manager stated our deputy would need to return to the store at a different time when he was not armed. The deputy left the store, without the ring he had purchased.The reaction our deputy encountered is very difficult for us to comprehend, and we earnestly hope situations such as these are few and are diminishing.Thank you to the citizens and businesses in our area who whole heartily support the men and women who wear the badge.Sheriff Campbell has attempted to contact their corporate office numerous times, but as of yet has received no answer.Lost my business and business of law enforcement.

Sent my bracelet off for repair and when my wife and I went to pick it up they tried to charge us 65.00 dollars for doing nothing. Be very careful when taking anything there to get fixed.
