Upon arrival was greeted by all employees and felt welcomed. DJ spinning tunes set the mood for buying music -even added to my purchase in the genre they were playing in store. Was able to find several pieces to add to my collection, even one thats been a little elusive. Will shop there again on my next trip to Wilmington. Thanks Guys!!

Cool music shop with plenty of new vinyl along with used stuff. From funk to punk, country to jazz...most all genres available. They have a great jazz selection and R&B. In addition they carry cassettes, VHS and hell ...I swear I saw some laserdiscs too! Record players and some video arcade games as well. Little bit of everything and the employees super cool too. My punk band Hanoi Jane from Roanoke is looking for gigs now and the cat I spoke to shed some light on some spots we should seek out. Worth the visit for certain. Enjoy!

Ive been shopping here for years and Ive NEVER left disappointed. Their curated boxes make buying records youll actually listen to so easy and fun. Ive purchased speakers from them before and theyre a highlight of my home, they sound incredible and look vintage and gorgeous. Always high quality item and the staff deserves a whole second review. They keep the atmosphere so chill and fun, no pretentious attitudes or snobs. I miss seeing bands in their back room and playing the various video game consoles they have set up but theyve made it so easy to buy from them safely during the pandemic. This whole community would not be the same without them.

Been shopping at Gravity since 2005. Always a reliable spot for a great selection of records, and several other media and serviced audio equipment you just can’t find elsewhere. It’s grown into so much more than just a record store. Highly recommend.

Cool store, friendly staff and a solid selection. Also, I was in need of a new stylus awhile back for our AT-LP120 and Matt (the owner) was above & beyond helpful. He got me a new stylus and even offered to do a set up on the turntable if I wanted to bring it in. He had it done in a few minutes and now it plays records better than ever. The shop has some used gear and a pretty huge selection of VHS tapes too. I highly recommend following them on Instagram for their record drops.

I LOVE all the shopping options (in store, curbside) and being a busy, working mom of 3, the record drops on Insta keep me able to shop when I can’t come in. Gravity Records is the best record store around. Not just because of the awesome vinyl they sell, but because of the awesome people that work there. They are passionate and knowledgeable about what they do and the products they sell. They have a welcoming and inclusive shop for anyone and everyone who loves spinning records. They care about the health of there staff and customers by continuing to keep their store safe during covid. As a physician myself, I truly appreciate this. I understand there are differing opinions on this topic but as a medical professional who has worked with covid patients nearly everyday for the last year, I appreciate how they care about people over rushing to make a quick dollar. If you are looking for vinyl this is the place to go.

I don’t make it to Wilmington often, but when I’m there I stop in. Everyone is nice and knowledgeable with a nice selection. They seem to be very active in their community and care about their patrons, which is an extra plus in my book. And there’s usually a cute dog or 2 to love on.

Gravity Records will forever be the best record shop in Wilmington, NC. They have an incredible selection of records (I stopped counting how many I’ve accumulated from them over the years) and an even better set of staff. Everyone there is an absolute delight to be around, beyond informative, and helpful with any and all music needs. If I didn’t already appreciate them enough, they have been excellent in covid safety + sanitation precautions and are a staple in the local community. They are undoubtedly one of the best local businesses around.

Gravity Records is one of my favorite spots in Wilmington. The staff are SO helpful and friendly. I really appreciate and respect their covid precautions, and I feel super safe there. Matt repaired my dad’s record player at Christmas time; he was so quick and even helped me pick out some dad-rock records to go with it. You’ve gotta check this place out.

My favorite record store in town. Engaging staff, solid prices and awesome equipment (snagged some NICE speakers for a good price). Absolutely LOVE this place!!! They are service dog friendly and are great at gauging peoples music interests. They are awesome and their social media is filled with fun raffles and giveaways. I have always found great CDs for myself and Records for my boyfriend. For Christmas, they even helped me (coincidentally) pick out my boyfriends favorite Black Flag album. They are great people who make Wilmington a great place to live. Not only are they covid conscious and inclusive, but they kick a s s!

Decent selection of LP records along with 45s. Prices were good and has a varied selection of musical genres. Staff was courteous and helpful. Next time Im in Wilmington Ill be stopping by.

I bought a needle/cartridge for my turntable, it was in stock. Then when I had trouble with some fine tuning, I returned with the turntable and they fixed me right up.

The people are nice and friendly. but the selection of records is somewhat bland. First off: all used. If you want new records or any artist post 1985, look elsewhere. 2nd a lot of the records are not the albums bands are known for and mostly are albums that a super fan may want but not your guy looking for hits. Im not saying dont visit because you need to support local and vinyl is coming back. Just be aware of whats here before venturing in. Theres also a good collection of vintage turntables, a few arcade games, CDs and movies.

I have worked here for two years and even before I did I was always welcomed with respect and hospitality from the staff and the owner/now boss. I was there when mr ronald came to the shop. He acted as if though he was the one going to tell us what to do after already belittling us multiple times including me on the phone when he was not getting his way. If you want respect you must give respect as well.

Great local record store! They get in shipments constantly so that each visit unearths new finds. Garret and Matt are always up to chat and give good advice. On the weekends they bring in local vendors that sell their handcrafted items. Theyre intertwined with the Wilmington community in many ways and really look out for their customers. Check them out and shop local!

Nice little record shop downtown. The have a wide selection, a lot of older stuff. They do have some more recent stuff but it’s mostly rock. They have 99¢ classical records. The guys working there were also cool. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area.

I thought this was a lovely store with a positive vibe. The burning incense was a great touch, and the staff was friendly. Although there were many records there, there were not a ton of artists to choose from, and limited variety in them. If you are looking for classic rock, some folk, a little old r&b, country, or jazz, you should be able to find something. hip/hop: not so much, but its clear that is intentional

EXTREMELY knowledgeable. Always willing to help any time Ive had a question or needed anything to do with vinyl or my turntables. They have a great presence online and keep their customers updated about new releases and hauls they bring in. A must visit if you love music

I have found more selection at a yard sale. I have been here literally 3 times and have found the same records each time. Selection seems to never change. Staff seems to be knowledgeable but that doesnt do any good when your records never change. I guess I will continue to support the other guys like Yellow Dog and Angies. Good luck to them I think they need it.

We had the opportunity to visit Gravity Records for the second time in two years. Our teenage son is a music buff and loves vintage/old school vinyl. Would have given five stars, but not much of a selection this time around, compared to the several albums we bought the year prior. And we missed seeing the house dog that was there before. Other than that, great place to visit, if nostalgic is your thing.

Super cool, open, space, decent selection of records, cassettes, and cds. Reminds me of a specific record shop I used to go to when I was a kid, very nostalgic. Staff is friendly and helpful, and I hear the have shows in the back room sometimes.

Really cool retro record store. Guy at the counter was super nice and down to talk about old tech. They sell old records, cassette tapes, and some CDs. They even have a section of local vinyls! It seems they also buy or repair some stuff because they had alot of speakers and turntables around too. Just a cool little indie retro record store!

Cool little record store with some diamonds in the rough, they have dogs that roam around the store from time to time so if you are allergic be mindful of that, but they are very good dogs. The have a little stage room in the back where they local bands come to play shows too. I cannot speak on that though. I have not attended a show there yet but I am looking forward to it. Worth a visit...and the prices werent terrible.

Last week made a drive here & was disappointed to find what they told me what they had was not there. I am PLEASED to say a few days ago they got back in contact with me to they had something I wanted to add to my collection. Had a great conversation with Matt and he was so helpful and hopes to help me to continue growing my collection. I changed my review from last week because I felt appreciated enough to be contacted back a few days after last weekend.
