Amazing shop! The gentleman at the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything he has in the shop. A huge variety of new and old music. If you are into vinyl records this place is perfect. They even have a section of CDs.

Ive never stepped foot in this record store, yet its one if my favorites. How is that possible? During the pandemic, they started a FB live event every Thursday night. Its changed a bit over but the basic concept is the same, the staff comes on and goes over the new releases, they they go through a few other albums and they end the show with the Tub. Whats the Tub? Youll have to tune in to find out. But I say, Ive bought a few grails from the Tub.The chat is a good time, as well. A great community has sprung up in the chat. Theres a few inside jokes, some of which would take too long to explain, but youll get there (Chris Gaines, Sold) and everyone in their helps each other out. The staff is fun, friendly and knowledgeable. There are many Thursday nights I dont buy anything, but I still have a good time. There is also many Thursday nights where I get a little carried away.Hopefully I can stop in the actual shop soon, but until then, Im there, virtually, every Thursday night.

Always can find a classic or two. & the crew their makes you feel like family and thats via online! I can just imagine in-person shopping.

I randomly googled “record shops” when I visited Wilmington and Record Bar popped up and had amazing reviews. My friend and I went on a Sunday (oddly enough after Record Store Day in June 21’) and the guy working was so nice, we mentioned it was our first time here and he gave us a run down of where things were located, what specials they had and added in some stickers to our purchases! I asked for an artist I had been searching for on vinyl, he immediately looked it up and went and grabbed it for me. 10/10 this place is now on my must do list when I head back to Wilmington! 💙

The Thursday night Facebook live stream is most entertaining. Used albums are priced well and worth the price. Great new albums every week.

I discovered Record Bar by chance and I’m forever grateful. I look forward to 6:00 PM EST every Thursday night with their live vinyl sale show. Living in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, driving to an actual “record store” is a hassle, especially to get to a non corporate store. Finding new vinyl releases that I’m looking for, not to mention releases I’m unaware of is always a crapshoot.With RECORD BAR I can buy from a “local business”, I can see the inventory, I can buy with confidence and more importantly I can buy without being price gouged. Above all else, I can buy from a wonderful group of people who love music as much as me and care about their customers!If I ever even get close to North Carolina, I will make it a point to stop in, say hello, show my love and of course buy some vinyl.If you want a great selection at great prices, this is THe place and you can visit without leaving the comfort of your own chair!

The team has been excellent with assisting me in rounding out my collection and offering suggestions based on my tastes. They take the time to get to know you and it makes a huge difference in my purchasing experience. That, plus the great selection, keeps me coming back.

Ive only shopped with them on Thursday night FB, not sure how I found them and Im about 3.5 hours away, but the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Better yet they are enthusiastic about music. Plus they are a lot of fun to interact with. Ill hopefully be by on RSD July 2021.

As a music lover who used to buy records from The Record Bar back in the late 70s, I love this new incarnation of my favorite record store. Tony and Donna have done a great job of creating a family-type atmosphere where everyone is welcome. The music selection is very diverse, both new and old, and if youre looking for something special, Eddie can find it for you! I love this place and these folks...and you will too.

Im sure that I have bought well over 100 albums from this awesome record shop this year, maybe 200. Tony, Donna and their staff are great people to deal with. The live FB sales on Thursday nights are so much fun that my better half and I build our plans around the event. Havent missed one yet.

The Record Bar has an atmosphere unlike any other music store still standing, the employees are knowledgeable, cool, funny and they offer customer service any music fan would dream of. It’s like one of those record stores you dream of growing up, they have everything you want and if they don’t have it, you can bet they will find a way to get it! Their Thursday night Facebook shows are my favorite and I consider these folks my friends because they’ve done so much to assist me in helping build my collection. Record Bar in Wilmington is an awesome place to pick up anything for your vinyl needs. Every week (Usually Thur. 6:00 pm) they have an amazing live Facebook show. They sell new releases, recent used arrivals, used selections people request, and they end with The Tub! The Tub is filled with eclectic selections of very high quality wax. You might even get a special treat if you buy one from the Tub.Tony, Donna, Doug, Julie, and Michelle are a fun group to watch and hang out with.After you buy, they ship quickly and package everything very well.I havent visited them in person yet, but hope to soon.

I’m a record collector and I’ve had many good customer service experiences over the years buying from local stores. My experience with Record Bar was extraordinary and one in which has made me a loyal customer for life. Like most vinyl collectors, I have a list of records I am looking for. I sent my list to Tony and a few days later he sent me a personalized video showing me the records he had from my list! Talk about concierge service! But it gets better. After I told him which records I wanted, he had them delivered to me. Talk about amazing customer service. I highly recommend Record Bar and hope you will visit them soon. I intend to belly up to this Bar often.

I have only purchased from this vendor online, however their knowledge of the product and care that goes into packaging for shipment is far exceeding of any other store I’ve dealt with. The Record Bar, an old name with a new spin, is a revived music store chain which, at the time of this writing, has been open approximately one year. In that time, owners Tony Stroud and Donna Hoehlein, have created and expanded on a lifelong dream whilst adhering to the most important business principle first: the customer. The crew began producing a weekly Facebook Live shopping show which is as entertaining and fun as it is informative and helpful. While not everyone can find a record store operating in their area in the year 2020, everyone is welcomed, appreciated, and serviced by the Record Bar whether it be virtually or in person. You may find cheaper vinyl somewhere else, but you get what you pay for, and in my experience, the world could benefit from this store’s curation and attention to detail. Even if there is an issue, they will address it immediately. Personally, I feel like I have not only found a responsible place to do business, but I’ve also gained friends, and that is an achievement for any proprietor to be proud of, but especially one that has done so in a global pandemic. Hats off to Tony, Donna, Doug, Michelle, Lauren, Julie, and everyone whom has made shopping at the Record Bar feel less like spending money, and more like investing time. 5 stars. Highly recommend.
