So far so good we just moved and we were looking for a new store to grocery shop. Its like a mini global for us loved it

Really enjoy going to this place and finding new things to try. My favorite part is the fish exotic mushrooms you cannot find anywhere else in town. Unusual (for Americans) cuts of meat, dried fish, and a huge selection of whole, fresh, fish are among the delights to see while you shop. They also carry all the typical stock you expect in a grocery store.

Mix of Hispanic, Middle and Far Eastern products both fresh and frozen. Caribbean too. Great seafood counter and great selection of Ramen. Take the time to walk all of the aisles. Your inner chef activate.I suspect many restaurants purchase their spring rolls and dumplings here.

This was a fantastic shopping experience for my family who has to drive over an hour to get here. So much great produce, and a variety from all over the world. Not to mention the shelves stocked were immaculate and perfect. Cant wait to come again.

What a wonderful market! They had every fat vegetable I ever want and cannot find near me, they had at least seven types of mushrooms including King oysters which Ive never even seen before and they have an amazing fresh fish market and the biggest selection. All the prices were so reasonable and the cashiers were very nice. This place is very excellent.

Unique store with hard to find specialty items. They have a frozen fish area where you select your fish and they will fillet it for you. Kids do play in the ice so its kinda gross, but you do cook the fish so I kills germs right? Lol.

Wow! Big selection of foreign stuff. Great place to wear earphones and noseplugs. The Mexican rap will keep your shopping uptempo. The smell will test your vomit reflex and if you hate clean floors this place is a must. Plenty of cool finds if. Lots of Indian and Mexican items at overly American prices.ive added a picture if a ginger root that Looks like a dinosaur.

As an international market, Food Maxx is my go-to and has been for many years. Stock is always plentiful and abundant. Prices are kept low, with produce being much cheaper and fresher than chain competition with much more of a variety. There is certainly more of a homey and local feel to the atmosphere than other international markets Ive visited, which is welcoming. In addition to food, a small corner of kitchenware is also available for purchase.

Its amazing to see so many food choices right here in Winchester! I spent some formative years in Okinawa, Japan, and I can find a lot of ingredients for my Japanese recipes right here in Winchester! There are many different choices for cooking from many areas of the world! No more traveling out of town to buy my favorite items! The produce is so organized with plenty of choices, and the workers are so friendly!

Great place with all sorts of foods from all over. Prices are also good, but the place seems kind of dirty. Its not horrible, but it just seems like it could be a little cleaner. Its the kind of deep down, dirt of ages. Its not dusty or anything, just has a dated and worn feel to it. I still go there though! They have things you cant get anywhere else in town!

Ive only been here twice but Ive havent had any issues. They sell these spicy noodles that my kids love as well as some Peruvian items which is great since my kids background is half Peruvian. I also find a small bucket of Nutella. Will definitely return to them

I thought Isles are clear and good variety. Prices were high for the things I looked at.Hubby thought there was not a very large selection of fresh seafood. He also thought meat case did not look clean.I dont think we would go back there.We love the international market in Ellicott City, md. Lotte

Was better when they first opened. Prices are VERY high compared to other international stores further east. Also out of things EVERY single week. Used to be able to buy regular packs of (yellow) El Milagro tortillas here but lately they only have white which stink.(las tortillas apestan mucho)Always out of certain frozen food items, middle eastern teas and their vegetable go bad in 1 or 2 days.I hate not supporting a local place but they need to find better distributors because their hot peppers, yuca, aguacate and pan dulce are god awful. If i pay 5 dollars for a couple habaneros they better not go bad in 2 days.

Excellent variety of Indian middle Eastern and Asiatic foods

FoodMaxx offers a variety of products that I grew up with in Brooklyn, NY. I am not from the Winchester area and when I need something I go to FoodMaxx. Anyone that walks in will find what they want. This store is 100% authentic!!

This is a very standard FoodMaxx store. It just has everything you need for any cuisine you want to cook. The size of this one is slightly smaller compared to other stores. Some shelves and aisles are a little bit disorganized since most items are organized by types of cuisine rather than by types of items. You might need to walk around a couple times to find the right kind of chips you want. Overall, it’s great.

Its ok just not the store for me but if you like pigs feet and burnt cow skin then its the place to go.

I can always find what I go into buy, their produce is very fresh and they carry an unusual variety of vegetables at very reasonable prices. They have fresh seafood and an actual seafood monger. Be warned, many of the employees speak little or no English. But its a great international trip.from fresh vegetables to hot sauces. Its well worth the trip.

Food Maxx has been a great place to shop. I cook food from various cultures. I would have to go all the way to Chantilly to get international type foods. The staff are very friendly and the prices arent bad. Some Americans have no idea what they are missing out 8n because they shop only at grocery chains like Martins and Walmart. Fine by me! More food for me.

Ive only been to one other supermarket like it, which is sad because I would love to see more international stores around. They have a fantastic selection of produce, spices, meats, and all other varieties of food and beverages. The prices are cheap and the quality is exceptional. Definitely one of the hidden gems in Winchester Virginia. I tend to try something new every time I visit and am rarely disappointed. Great place to visit for all beginning cooks and veteran to get inspiration for your next meal. 5/5 stars without a doubt.

Food Maxx is the go to place for all the hard to find Latinx, Asian, Indian and other food offerings from around the globe. They have an amazing variety of spices, sauces, condiments, prepared foods, snacks and great produce, meat and fish. Its as if the Mexican and foreign foods sections of your local supermarket expanded up to the size of the entire supermarket.The staff is friendly and helpful and I notice that the customers and staff are very diligent about COVID social distancing and mask requirements (An important distinction as many businesses in the area have seen somewhat lax / hit or miss enforcement)

Best place to go in Winchester for international foods! Atmosphere does feel a bit dark and dingy, but otherwise a highly recommended place to visit!

Not the easiest store to navigate because the layout is real tight making it a little difficult to find things. On the Plus side the selection is so Diverse that Food Maxx is the go to place to find rare items you cant find in other big chain grocery stores.

If youre into cooking, then you have to shop at Food Maxx. They have so many items that the other stores in the area do not carry. Their produce and meats are top notch. Just be warned, you WILL see some things that will surprise you. It is an international market after all. The store is always clean and orderly, and the staff has always been polite.The store also has a fresh fish counter if thats youre thing.During covid19, Food Maxx had all the basics other stores were out of (rice, flour, eggs and even toilet paper). If this store ever closes, my meal cooking variety will suffer greatly.

Food Maxx is a full size grocery store offering international products along with a full service fish department. Fresh produce has abundant Latin and Asian fruits and vegetables. I am taking classes in Asian cooking and having been able to get every ingredient there. Prices are good and products are fresh. The store has and affinity program and gives $10 store cash certificate when you hit spend totals. All automatic. Exceptional variety is also found in meat and alcohol departments.

The international selection is awesome. Many fresh ingredients for multi-cultural dish preparation. Prices very reasonable. If you know of a product and find a UPC they will work with you to order it. Fresh fish, beef, pork, seafood. Love this store.

Great place to go for international food items that you might not find at the grocery store or Walmart.

This is definitely the place to come if youre looking for something different; however, if youre coming here for produce or fresh meat, you really have to watch what you buy here. My brother and I are regulars here, and we have found many produce and meat items here with mold growing on them. My first time here, I bought some bags of produce and ended up having to throw them out when I got home because they had mold on them that I didnt see in the store. If it wasnt for that, I would have given this place five stars. Other than the produce and fresh meats, this place has a huge selection of foods not seen in stores like Walmart.

This is one of my most favorite places to shop. Its hard to beat their fresh produce. The variety is awesome. The fresh meat section is great also. I do most of my shopping here instead of the big greedy food chain stores that really dont care about their people.

Best grocery store in Winchester. If it werent here Id still be driving into Fairfax for international staples. Produce, meat and seafood prices are the best in town and quality is great. Selection is not based upon American cuisine though, so thick steaks and chops need to be requested from the back.

My fiance and I had a wonderful time shopping.what an inventory they have! Going up and down....almost every aisles. I seriously had to make her quit. We dont live in Winchester, but we will be back to Food Maxx.

Only a couple times have I visited and what I need not be in stock. Things are priced, pretty well organized and a decent variety (especially for our area). Workers speak English well and I have never had to wait in line very long.

Clean, well maintained, plenty of staff, good variety of mostly imported food goods, some areas feel cramped, making it hard to maneuver a shopping cart.

We are in the process of looking for a community where we can retire. One of our must haves is access to international food. We cook (a lot) and we love ethnic foods, so our grocery requirements go far beyond the typical grocery store. We found Food Maxx on line and stopped in for a reconnaissance.We found a huge variety of ingredients for Asian, African, and Latin cuisines👏and nearly all of the ones we have available here in Northern Virginia. Dandelion greens, check. Thai peppers, check. Gojuchong, check. Cholula, check. Indian spices, check.We also discovered ingredients we werent familiar with - going to use Giggle Translate to figure those out!So were super excited that Winchester supports ethnic diversity and cultural heritage. We hope Food Maxx thrived!

Found everything that I needed, but there is zero heat in the building!

Asian, Hispanic, Indian, African ingredients available. Fresh fish, veggies, spices, dumplings, shiritake noodles, every Asian noodle under the sun fresh. Meat cuts for every culture. My go to while shopping in the area

The store is well stocked with multiple international foods, however, the parking is not well maintained! I had to carry my service dog from car to store. Parking area was full of water, melting ice and full of muddy slushy water with what looked like small salt granules! Store located in a strip mall but looks like businesses there could get together to make this area more presentable.

Great place to shop for Hispanic or Asian food items. Butchers have some of the best cuts that you wont find in other grocers.

Got 2 full bags of fresh produce and meat for $50! Everything is always fresh and delicious. Plus all the hard to find ingredients the regular grocery stores dont have.

Great place to find a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Love those little yellow mangoes. They carry numerous spices and herbs and fascinating assortment of snacks and prepared foods. I like to pick up something completely different to amaze, delight, or disgust my family. This is the only place nearby that carries my absolute favorite coffee, Yaucono.

Love this store. Great International produce from around the world. Isles are by Nationality and great beer selection at reasonable prices! I found ice cream Mocchi, too!Ive run in twice to pick up a couple of items. Would love to take time and see all the different items they have in this store.
