I have tried so hard to like this place, especially being a local small business, but their customer service is just so bad. The past 3 visits, I have ordered at the window- either a scoop of ice cream or a coffee, and each time I have been waiting over 20 minutes. One time, when I asked about my coffee, they realized they forgot to make it. They at least made it right away, but they added sooo much syrup, you couldnβt taste if any espresso had gone in. It was disgusting and undrinkable. Elsewhere I would have asked it to be remade, but I didnβt fancy waiting another 20+ minutes. The other 2 times, I asked where the 1 scoop of ice creams were, and their response went something like βoh yeahβ and being handed a half melted cup of ice cream that had clearly been sat there a while. Iβm honestly surprised this business is still running if this is their level of service
Stopped here a few weeks back when checking out downtown. The staff was friendly and made a couple of recommendations. Some of tables needed a wipe down even though marked clean. We ordered a few drinks (cookies and cream smoothie, peanut butter frappe, and a salted caramel frappe) which were good but nothing out of the ordinary. The baked goods were alright, daughter has a strawberry cake pop which was moist and a good size. They have a sizable menu so well try something different next time. They have retail items which is an array of local artist items (art, jewelry, and similar).
Always a friendly, quaint spot to hop in and grab a coffee, snack, or sweet treat. Its wonderful to see that there are non-dairy and vegan options for ice cream and milkshakes. Plus, with Little Man Ice Cream from Colorado, you know its going to be delicious!
Windsor Lake Coffee is such a cute coffee shop with the best drinks and desserts! The walk-up window allows for easy outside access and there is nice seating outside too. We always get coffee or ice cream and itβs delicious!
Nice friendly, laid-back atmosphere!
I would give them a 3.5 stars. This was a very fun creative shop with lots of drink options. But our drinks were somewhat blah. They staff was nice enough to replace one of our drinks with some thing new. The sandwich I had was good. All in all just missed the mark for me.
Windsor Lake Coffee is the best coffee shop in town! Has great ice cream and food as well. Very friendly staff and overall have a great experience every time Iβm in.
Screams proudly local, in all the best ways. Fun, unique and delicious ice cream. Friendly staff. Boutique of local hand crafted goods. Really glad we stopped by.
The service is always pretty good, but sometimes the quality is not what I hoped. We always try to support local, but the last few experiences here have encouraged me to just make my own espresso and baked goods...
Loved the vegan mocha chip ice cream! It was amazing. The team at Windsor Lake is so wonderful. Going into the shop is like visiting friends.
Ive never actually gone inside because my son and I usually just stop on our way to the boardwalk park and they have the cutest little walk up window outside that you can order from. That being said, the service has always been wonderful and everything weve ever gotten there has been delightful. Im all about the coffee, scones and pretzel bites and Tryst favors their icecream. Definitely one of our favorite places to stop.
This business obviously values the safety of its employees as well as their customers because they have continued to require masks until June first to allow time for more community members as well as staff members to be fully vaccinated. They have an option for those who do not wish to wear masks as well at the icecream window outside. I have received exceptional customer service every time Iβve been in. The food is delicious, and I love the rotation of icecream flavors as well as the vegan options! Overall this business values their customers health, safety, and well-being.
Have LOVED everything I have tried at Windsor Lake Coffee. I make an effort to try something new every time I go in for food or coffee. My daughter loves the ice cream selection and we really appreciate that they offer gluten free bread. The sweet treats are super yummy and the coffee cant be beat!I want to let management know: as someone who has been giving this lovely little spot an honest try each time it has changed hands and ownership, THANK YOU for making a visible and tangible change. The shop looks amazing, the change in menu and attitude are so appreciated. We LOVE Windsor Lake Coffee and are so happy to support a great local business!
Great local shop. Love the unusual coffee combinations that change monthly. The Blackberry Truffle Latte is a winner! So are the bacon maple scones. Need a little calm in your life, try the Honey Lavender Coffee. Hungry for a more substantial breakfast or a quick lunch, try one of the burritos, quiche, or a breakfast sandwich. Nice atmosphere for working, reading, or just catching up with friends. Drip coffee is bottomless!
I do generally like this coffee and ice cream shop. Today was not the greatest experience there however. I tried ordering 2 different things off the menu and was told they were out. So we ordered something else from very limited choices. My family sat a table just to wait for my daughters ice cream cone and we were told that we would need to leave soon because they were closing in 5 mins. I explained that we were simply waiting for the rest of our order which was met with a bit of an attitude. We then waited at least 5 mins for that ice cream cone anyway. Just kind of a bummer. But everything was tasty so at least theres that.
This ice cream is amazing. I love the local art sold here and everyoneβs always so friendly.
A great place to stop for coffee or a cold drink after hiking around Windsor Lake.
Wonderful experience. Their ham and brie sandwich is so so good. Their salads are aldo very good. I loved the coconut macaroon too.
Windsor Lake Coffee is absolutely wonderful. Their food is outstanding, their employees are wonderful, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and homey. Theyve got good coffee, and even a to-go window on the side of the building! I really enjoyed my first visit, and I know it will not be my last.
Pricey but good and convenient.
Had a to go order already paid for, went to get it and the staff refused to give me my food because I didnβt have a mask. Instead, they refunded me my money and trashed the food I ordered. I understand that they have a right to request guest to wear mask but itβs kind of a mute point when the have multiple groups of people sitting at tables maskless with no social distancing. In the rest of Colorado you can go maskless if youβre vaccinated but I guess not at the Windsor Lake Coffee House even though they donβt adhere to social distancing recommendations.
Staff? Awesome! Drinks? Ummm amazing! One of my personal favs. I mean lavender in my coffee or matcha latte?? LOVE!
Awesome food and drink. Near beautiful park and lake
Adorable local coffee shop & Cafe. Love places that bring community together, through a cozy environment and local artists works. π¨πΌTasty drink & very yummy sweet treat! Definitely will be stopping here π vs the chain coffee. π
Love this place, the scones are devine, the avocado toast is perfect and they make the best milkshakes around! Plus their smoothies are delicious.
Adorable coffee shop. Love the Harry Potter decor. Lots of cute gifts. Awesome pastryβs and other breakfast items. Coffees are excellent. Great customer service.
Food was good but service not so much had to show them their own menu to get the correct order. They still forgot several items.
As I work down town I like this coffee shop and have spent significant dollars at it over the years. However sadly I will no longer be spending a nickle there until ownership gets off their mask police routine. I had COVID in Jan 2020 Before Covid was even a thing. I have antibodies AND I have been vaccinated. Given the now SEVERAL weeks old change in guidance by the CDC I was shocked when I was practically assailed verbally upon entering the establishment to get my mask on immediately by the staff. Its FAR past time to stop living in irrational fear and get back to some sense of normalcy. The ACTUAL science should the owner care to read it shows that asymptomatic spread is extremely rare and with now over 50% of the population fully vaccinated AND millions of people like me that had covid and recovered the transmission risk is exceedingly low to negligible. Not to mention the actual SCIENCE of several studies that have shown mask use in a non controlled non medical setting is nearly useless. In one Danish study at the height of the initial out break showed only a 0.3% difference in case positivity rates between the Control group that never wore masks and the study group that wore a fresh surgical mask anytime they left their homes AND regularly rotated to fresh masks at required intervals when out to control for mask cross contamination risk from mask touching. I was not even given an opportunity to state that I ALREADY HAD COVID and had been vaccinated. Enough is enough. This business has every right to be illogical and continue the fear mongering... I also have the right to take my money elsewhere. Apparently that is what the owner wants. I wish them luck with that..... they will need it!!!
This place is hands-down our favorite coffee shop, lunch and breakfast spot in town and the ice cream is AMAZING. My 2 year old literally just starts screaming scones when we pull up because even he is obsessed.
Great place for a fast bite to eat and Ice Cream.
Very good food and coffee. Perfect place to hangout with some friends.
A yummy enjoyable coffee shop
I LOVE Windsor Lake Coffee! Itβs such a great atmosphere and the employees really care about their customers! They really care about their community, and it shows. As a small business, they do a great job at promoting other small businesses in the area! They have a ton of options for beverages and do a great job recommending different drinks and switching up monthly and even daily specials! Would definitely highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing food and service love this shope so much
Not my favorite place to go. Coffee could be better
Seems disorganized. Orders are often wrong, especially specialty coffees. Today, they forgot about us, and then came out 20 minutes later to tell us that they lost our ticket. I think itll be a while before we come back.
Windsor Lake Coffee is probably my favorite spot in downtown Windsor. I love getting breakfast there on weekends and appreciate that they have gluten free options. The waffle sandwich is my husbands favorite. We enjoy getting a cup of coffee or icecream to go and taking a walk around beautiful Windsor Lake afterwards. The merchandise they sell is great too. My dining table centerpiece was purchased there from Miller Made Candles. Its also very refreshing that they are talking Covid seriously and do a great job of protecting customers and staff. This place is a treasure!!
We like this place. Weve had two good visits and todays was a little disappointing. Our lattes didnt have much espresso and mine was luke warm. Regrettably we didnt try our drinks until we were well on our way and it didnt work to go back.
I absolutely love all the baked little goodies I find when I come looking for their strong coffee. They had dark chocolate and cherry cookies today! #supportlocal
LOVE this place! I make sure to stop here every time Im on my way up from Denver! The location is so convenient, right in charming downtown Windsor & they have an amazing menu, for both coffee and food. The food is great, and made fresh, and theyre always offering a variety and switching things up. Coffee is delicious and they have a very creative menu with lots of different syrups so you can get something unique, just ask the barista.Last time I stopped in they still had (limited) dine in services, and inside they have tons of super cute little items for gifts, I got an adorable cactus necklace I still wear. The staff is so friendly, and the owner Claire is wonderful! Definitely a great place to support local next time youre hungry or need a boost of caffiene
Took the grandkids for icecream, & drinks!
Staff was rude when I walked in for our first time there. Walked in, was the only customer there with my wife and was not greeted while we looked around at some of the items in the store. Not sure if my American flag sweater had something to do with it (based on the political signs posted on the front and walk up windows)...but hey every one has their own opinions. Then when we walked up the cashier she said, do you know what you want?.....there was no, Thank you for coming in today how can I help you, or thanks for coming in how are you this morning! Very unwelcoming atmosphere and employees. Coffee I ordered was a 4 out of 10 and my wifes was a 6 out of 10. With a mistake or semi bad experience I always give a second chance but will NOT return. 1 star experience. 2 star coffee.
They have fantastic ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream flavors are fun and different while still being super tasty. We enjoyed salted oreo and the chocolate mint, which were both delicious. The flavors can run out each day, so be sure to go earlier for more choices. Also, the ice cream sandwiches are HUGE and made with fresh, chewy cookies. This place has become a favorite summer treat for us.
Delicious quick for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack. I recommend the avocado toast or a cup of little man ice cream!
Nice little coffee shop. Drinks were good and hot.
Love the ice cream, love the coffee, love the sandwiches, love the care of their employees and their community!
I took my daughter yesterday for breakfast. With all the wonderful choices, for some reason, she wanted a bagel. We placed our order and took a seat at a table that was clearly marked as sanitized and ready. One of the young ladies let us know that they were out of bagels. Her second choice wasnt available either. I gave her my crepes with berries, and ordered the Windsor melt instead. I went to the register to pay for the difference between the original order and what we actually ended up getting. The girls were so sweet, and insisted there was no charge for the upgrade because they were out of her other choices. I appreciated that level of customer service. The Windsor Melt was fantastic, and we ended up sharing it! She loved it. I think we were both happy that there werent any bagels. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and appreciated the opportunity to sit inside, have some food and her read a book to me. In the future, if we were in a hurry, Id order ahead. They seemed pretty busy. The atmosphere was just right for the type of outing we wanted yesterday. I truly appreciate the effort to make it right. It ended up better than what we originally ordered.
My husband and I came to this coffee house for the first time a couple Sundays ago. The coffee and food was great, but we wanted to give the proprietor some information on our masks that she felt were inappropriate. We were not even given the chance to explain that our βmeshβ masks were in fact high-quality filtering masks. We obliged her request to wear her paper masks, but when we tried to explain (after putting her masks on), she just walked away. Her mannerisms were rude and we felt we were treated as criminals. She did not give us the time to hear us out, even though the establishment was not busy. It is a shame that this was our first experience as we were excited to support this business weekly. Please check out Airable on Indiegogo, a nano-fiber, double-walled mask that has filtration capabilities that are up to par with N-95 masks (I am a chemistry and biochemistry teacher). My family and I are trying to protect ourselves in this pandemic while still supporting businesses. I do not feel safe wearing simple, paper masks so I will no longer be supporting this business.
LOVE the Little Man ice cream flavors...best ice cream in Colorado!!
Absolutely the best spot in Windsor hands down!!!
This place has amazing ice cream. Definitely worth stopping in and getting ice cream and hanging out. You have to try the salted oreo and salted caramel peanut butter. Their waffle cones are awesome. They have great service as well!
Very good ice cream, as well as covid precautions.
A charming lunch-spot with an authentic soda fountain and a case of fresh-baked goodies. They have their COVID game down and the servers are truly cheerful and helpful. There is also some local art and jewelry on display and for sale: whats not to like?
Love the vegan ice cream!!
I use to come here a lot so I stopped by for a coffee and some hot chocolate for my son. I literally sat there for over 10 minutes waiting so I went to the door and he told me he forgot about me. I asked for a refund and a number for the owner. I called her and it was almost stunning how much she could care less. She told me that I got my refund and excused the mistake with no action to apologize or make things right. Will never come here again.
This coffee shop has a cute atmosphere and really great drinks
This was the WORST restaurant I have ever been to. If I could give it a negative star rating, I would. First of all, the order of two sandwiches and two soups, took forever. It probably took 15 to 20 minutes at least for take out which we ordered in-person at the store. Next, the server only gives us HALF of our order. We had to ask where the rest of our order was (our two soups), which they then gave to us COLD. When we finally sat down to eat, one of the sandwiches was incorrect. We ordered a sandwich with meat, and received an all veggie sandwich. We then discovered MOLD on the sandwich bread. Absolutely DISGUSTING. I will not ever be returning to this shop.
This is my favorite coffee shop on the planet! The sweet treats are my usual go-to, but you will not be disappointed with anything they offer. Amazing service as well! (:
Quirky shop with many local artists/jewelers/craftors and a Harry Potter theme. Delicious sandwiches, and coffee & tea concoctions.
Great location. Excellent drink selection for coffee, tea lovers alike. Great Italian sodas available. Sandwiches can be ordered fresh and are satisfying but a tad plain spices wise. Charming and good value.
Loved the coffee and the atmosphere. A bit pricey, but will come back here again. I met an old friend and had the drip coffee, while she had the chi. The breakfast burrito was great (made in Loveland). Tried bringing my wife back on New Years, but they were closed. The lake was frozen, but would be a nice walk in warmer months. We will try again. Nice, small town Andy Griffith Show feel. The staff was friendly.
Just got some coffee.
I dont get it, All I can say.
Windsor Lake Coffee is an awesome establishment. Itβs a combination coffee, upscale sandwich, ice cream shop. The staff is courteous and efficient especially a young woman with brown hair and eyes. There coconut macaroons and sweet desserts are excellent. Check them out!! You will not be disappointed.
1st time today! Will not be the last! Phenomenal!
I am obsessed! I get lunch here every Friday and every time I get something different. I have never once been disappointed and the ladies who work there are so friendly and sweet. Very welcoming. I highly recommend trying the quiche :)
Very disappointing experience. The person who answered the phone clearly wasnt listening to a word I said. We ordered and specified that the food would be brought to the car, as the sign posted on the business stated. Waited 20 minutes for this to never happen so I finally went to see what was happening. The batista seemed frustrated with me and said the food had been ready. I was frustrated but paid for the food that had been sitting, ice melting and bread soggy. Only after returning to my car did I realize that the food didnt even match what I asked for. Overall a very frustrating situation and I regret being a customer of your business and I regret leaving a tip.
Ice cream is amazing. Coffee is so-so.
We love bringing our whole family in for Little Man Ice Cream here! The espresso is also top notch and they make tasty sandwiches too! My Three-year-old is always asking to go to the little coffee shop with those really nice people π An all around winner for us!
Great coffee and sandwiches
Amazing ice cream and baked goods
Windsor Lake Coffee serves the best coffee/espresso of any of the coffee shops that have occupied this space. Great quality coffee drinks!! I would recommend more mellow music thatβs played just a bit quieter and it would be my go-to spot for working days. Great job!!
Terrible experience yesterday trying this place with 3 lady friends and we all agreed we will never go back. Over priced and the salad the birthday gal got was not even edible, but our biggest disappointment came with the customer service. It was non existent and they truly could have cared less to have any customers in their place and we were the only table the entire lunch hour. Posting here because no one ever bothered to ask us yesterday, how is everything.
Amazing experience! Great food and workers are friendly and joyful. Their presence is very appreciated and enjoyed! Will definitely come again. And DESERVES 5 stars. Thank you!
Great location, darling shop! My almond milk latte was perfect! Service was a little slow and the burrito was just okay but I have high hopes for this new venture- it seemed busy for a snowy day, which is great! Windsor is cheering for you!
Friendly staff, good latte & scone, a bit pricey but worth it. Nice 50s ambiance and surprisingly busy and loud on a Sat afternoon. Nice area to sit & read but I could have done with a little less clatter. Parking is on street- be patient, theres lots of turn over.
This coffee shop is in the building that has been drug store, soda fountain, ice cream parlor and coffee shops. I love the atmosphere and history of the place and the food was good too. As a side bonus in a town this small you almost always bump into someone you know.
My mom and I stopped in after enjoying Windsor lake. My mom got a pineapple shake that came out pretty much right away. I ordered at hot fudge sundae. It took 20 minutes to make. After about 10 minutes, I asked the girl who took our order if it was almost done. She said they ran out of whipped cream and were making more. I told it her it was fine, that I didnβt want or need whipped cream. She ignored my request and told me it would be about another 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, they yelled out my order for my hot fudge sundae. It was so disappointing. There was not even a teaspoon of hot fudge on it, overpowered with whipped cream and smothered in peanuts and the rest of was just vanilla ice cream. They were so worried about the whipped cream (even though I told them it wasnβt necessary to have), they didnβt let me know or ask if I wanted peanuts. What if I were allergic? There was no sort of compensation let alone an apology of it taking so long. I just figured a small Ma&Pop shop would have better communication and customer service than that. 20 minutes waiting for a simple hot fudge sundae, no communication and no apology for any of it. It was a huge disappointment in every manner and I will not be back.
Love the scones!
Im second visit was great! I had the ham and swiss quiche and hot tea. I love the atmosphere and the food was delicious. I think I will become a regular. The staff will learn my name Veronica
We love coming in for ice cream cones and milk shakes! There are always new flavors to try, Little Man ice cream is the best and we are lucky to have it here in Windsor!
Super cute - old fashioned soda shop feel! Love the seating choices and friendly environment. Great place for a quick snack or meal
Great little place. Enjoyed a date with my boys. Really like the staff.
Awesome, small, quite coffee shop that offers artistian coffees and food selections. Young entrepreneur has created a thought provoking space which surrounds you with the work of emerging local artists and photographers. The baked goods are scrumptious and the coffee selections range from creative variations to classic high quality brews. The shop has a comfortable, local feel that makes it a great addition to Windsor downtown area. Its a must visit stop if you are in the area .
2 cherry limeade ice creams, raspberry shake with turkey sandwich and spinach side salad, soup and coffee, plus the BEST grilled cheese ever with soup and chi tea was our order. Everyone was happy with their orders!!! They will be back and lβm bringing friend soon! Highly recommend!!!
Caring staff. Good drip coffee. Lots of food options to pick from.
Website claimed to serve gluten free. Came in to enjoy coffee and lunch (at a cafe full of empty tables) but instead got harassed by the baker for even asking. They donβt have gluten free food but even worse employees rage yelling at customers who want to pay good money.
Came in for espresso, ended up getting an affogato (espresso over ice cream) on recommendation from the super friendly staff. Great atmosphere to get some work done or meet with friends. 10/10 would recommend again
The staff was very welcoming and worked well together. The ice cream and and drinks were great. It was a wonderful first visit.
Amazing service great home made sandwiches!! Love this local spot in Windsor check them out !
Scone and tea are very good. Lemonade far more tart than I expected. Nice folks.
Enjoy the customer service the most. Attentive and attune to what Id like. The place itself is quite comfortable and clean.
