Very professional and polite staff, and appointments usually are not very long and easy to get through. Unfortunately, if a mistake is made in your prescription, or you cant make out the handwriting on it to order glasses online, youre stuck with it; They will absolve themselves of all responsibility, without bothering to reexamine you in case of an error, or help you read your near-illegible prescription. In the chance that this happens, all you can do is go to another eye doctor.

I didnt have insurance and they are affordable. I waited less here than my usual eye doctor. Everyone was really nice. The room was full when I went in and I thought it would be a long time but it was very quick.

This review is for the Vision Center optical shop & optician, Melissa. 1st of all, love that the optical shop is right at the entrance so no need for walking around a huge store to get to it! 2nd, Melissa the optician was super friendly, years of experience & very knowledgeable! And last? I only needed lenses as I was using my old frames. At my doctors optical shop, I was quoted $345, AFTER insurance--remember, this is just lenses, no frame. With Walmart? Exact same Rx (progressive lenses & anti-glare), AFTER insurance--$30. Seriously, $30. I was stunned! Please note, this location is a Walmart corporate location--it is not a leased optical shop. In other words, this location offers the best prices and my insurance isnt accepted at other Walmarts. No problem for me! I dont mind driving 5 extra miles for great service & very affordable prices. Thanks again Melissa!

Utterly unacceptable and blatantly inept. I had an appointment scheduled for 1 PM on a Friday, so I arrive 10 minutes early only to find the office locked. I tell the woman in the vision center the situation and she replies that the doctor and his tech probably arent back from lunch. Maybe its just me, but if Im a doctor and have appointments coming in at 1 oclock, Id like to be in my office AT LEAST 10-15 minutes beforehand. So, me and about 6 other customers wait until the tech finally arrives about fifteen minutes after 1 PM. The doctor? STILL hasnt arrived. After filling out some paperwork, I receive my eye test from the tech and get lead to another room for my actual exam to be given by the doctor who has yet to appear. I wait ANOTHER 20-30 minutes sitting in the exam chair. When the doctor finally opens the door to the exam room, hes leading ANOTHER patient in, completely oblivious to the fact that Im already in there. Thats right, he had no idea I was even in the exam room waiting for him and Im sure its because the tech didnt even bother to tell him. I immediately left at that point, because the stupidity and mismanagement in the air was unbearably thick. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the tech, she stood there as if customer complaints were just part of her day. On my way out, I passed a gentleman on his way in. I wished him, Good luck, because dealing with this tardy, apathetic optometrist and his lethargic technician might require several horseshoes and an acre of four-leaf clovers. Im glad I spent NO money here, but I did learn a valuable lesson; dont trust an optometrists office thats 40 yards from corndogs under a heat-lamp inside a Walmart.

We dont go to the Dr here but we purchase glasses through Walmart vision once we get a prescription. My kids love their glasses and keep them on. I cant say the same for other places weve tried. My son loves the transition lenses. He currently has transition lenses from somewhere else and he hates them. Hes been begging for another pair from Walmart. The prices are affordable if you pay attention to the cost of rims before the lense price is added. Getting ready to purchase again once the kids receive their updated prescriptions.

Called them because my vision insurance listed them as a provider. She quickly told me no, hadnt heard of them (didnt take the time to check). I asked for the number for the University location, she said no I dont have it. I laughed and hung up. I think I was bothering her and she just wanted me off the phone. Go somewhere else.Edit: Recently (Nov. 2020) went to the University vision care center, where they immediately took my insurance and had my glasses ready in 3 days. Took time with me and were very personable. So go there instead.

This place is affordable but the wait is ridiculous... the doctor should let the receptionist do her job and he should just do eye exams.... our appointment was for 10:45 and we didn’t get seen until 11:30.... the doctor acts like we have nothing better to do but sit and wait for him all day.... this is not the first I’ve had to wait either....

Terrible. The young lady at the front didn’t not know how to verify my insurance. I have VSP (they are a paperless company), so I provided her with all my information to look me up on there system. She told me that I didn’t have insurance and I had to leave the appointment. She would not even call VSP to verify. I called myself and they (VSP) verified that I did have active insurance with them. The young lady told me that they were booked today and the doctor is only in on Thursdays and Fridays. I asked about the following week, the doctor wasn’t going to be there at all. Very I horrible customer service. Will not go there again.

The worst. Waited over 2 hours for my appointment. The doctor almost sent me out the door without doing my contact lenses measuring which I wrote in my check in paperwork. He was upset and I had to wait another 30 minutes for him to come back and do this. Now that I’m trying to get my eye glasses prescription, I have to wait a week until the doctor returns to the office to even get them to hand me or fax my prescription. It’s totally insane! The guy on the phone told me “We just answer the phones.” Honestly you aren’t handing out controlled substances, get over yourselves!

Terrible Doctor at the Peters Creek location . My appointment was at 9:15, two others were there for 9:00 appointments. First they dont open until 9:00. The receptionist opened, the doctor didnt show up until 9:25 . He came went and sat down at receptionist desk and started doing something other than seeing patients which at this time he was 30 minutes late. I got up told the receptionist to cancel my appointment. To me he was very unprofessional and inconsiderate of other peoples time. I dont recommend this place at all.

Its terrible when you only have one person working and there is a line. I feel sorry for the employee. Working so hard and I know this place in not affiliated with Walmart buy leases the area out. But its customer service issue that needs to be immediately, which would be great for business . Thanks

I went in to get contact measurements and they gave me a glasses exam while knowing the entire time that it was to get measured for contacts. The conversation was about contacts the entire time while they were doing the wrong exam. These people are incompetent and after I addressed them blatantly ripping me off they became rude and confrontational. The “doctor” should return whatever license he got back to the crackerjack box from which he got it and cease his practice.
