I preferred to give a review through Google rather than the U-Haul website since I do want to recognize the incredible Customer Service given at this specific location (U-Haul of Winter Park)I had a truck reserved but due to unforeseen circumstances the truck was not available. I found this out when Billy (the manager?) personally texted me, AND called me to let me know of the situation. He was kind enough to transfer my reservation to a different location and on top of that, followed up with a U-Haul reservation warranty. Billy and Joshua (BOTH) went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and pleased with the service provided. I HIGHLY recommend this location to any one, thanks to their hard work.
Rented a van from here Thursday super easy pick up and returned the staff are friendly and super fast. You can do all of the process on your phone. Great prices to.
Just finished moving. Was able to get a 10’ van at the last minute as they had one available. Riley took the time to walk the truck make sure the seat was adjusted to my height. When I returned it ; Riley was there with a smile waiting to close out the rental. Always friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back for any of my moving needs.
The store owner/manager Dion is a great guy and super helpful. The mechanics were efficient and did quality work. Absolutely no complaints!
On 12/31/2020 this Location ALLOWED my Identity to be STOLEN!I have rented a truck for an ex-friend at this location in the past. My information is in the system.I live 3.5hrs from this location. I did not authorize or sign for this transaction, AND NOW THE TRUCK IS MISSING!! Almost 2.5months later???Filing Identity Theft report and calling a lawyer. U-haul of Winter Park, you have some explaining to do!
I rented a uhual yesterday, I was charged for 13 gallons of fuel and 188 miles, I returned the truck with 1/4 tank more than I received and only traveled 40 miles tops...the guy in the store wearing a name tag that said caleb and the title of owner below it prived to be false upon calling uhaul to complain the guy isnt even management....very disappointed I would definitely use any otger uhaul then these guys...well depending on uhual s response I may never use these guys again....
Very helpful and with explaining the guidelines and rules. Walked around the truck and explained about the fuel return, pickup ride so comfortable! Ac blew out very cold, sound proof from outdoor noise, doesn’t burn fuel, back up camera, Bluetooth, area for drinks, etc, attachments for back, and I was happy with my rental agreement.
I made a reservation for the largest truck 26ft a month prior to my move. On moving day I show up to pick up the truck they don’t have the truck I reserved and only have a 10ft truck. What is the point of a reservation if you don’t reserve what I ordered? The employees said “oh well tough luck. Go somewhere else”. Horrible service, terrible place. Reserve with another place if you prefer to not have a headache.

General manager is not concerned about YOUR safety! Representative worked there didn’t know what he was doing when connecting my wiring to the trailer, and somehow caused a malfunction for the lights not to work, but did not inform me(he clearly Does not know what he’s doing) about it not working and cleared me to leave. Found out that night by someone else the lights were not working and had to leave my car and trailer stranded to avoid getting into an accident or pulled over. I never received any email for my contract until I called customer care and they put in a form and suggested I go back to the original place. When arriving I did not expect to have a DISGUSTING attitude from the general manager not taking me serious when bringing liability and safety of lives with my set up. He was so mad having to listen to me he became angry and started shaking bad. A gentleman with me witnessed the entire situation when the manager was talking disgusting with me. Manager talked down to me, tried to lie as if I was the issue and did not want to take responsibility until I asked for his bosses information. Then he tried to apologize but there’s no apology needed now for treating me disgusting. He had no care for my safety and wanted no responsibility of how careless their staff is when renting out! He offered to fix my wiring his rep caused to malfunction but left so fast he never even asked to set up an appointment or no follow up on that! Just disgusting, I’ve never experienced anything like this with uhual
Caleb provided the best service Ive ever had at uhaul. The trailer lights were not working and he investigated it to find the fuse was bad and then switched the fuse for us after doing tests to make sure we could drive safely with the trailer. He could have just told me the rental wasnt available due to our issue but he went above and beyond to make sure that we got excellent service
Just stopped by for propane and they said Na not doing that today. Just curious why you have signs out all over the place about getting propane but you don’t want to do it. I asked how come no propane and the dude said “I am not doing that today”. I guess I won’t ever come back to this place on account of, you get what they decide they are offering that day. Too big a risk. Well I will take my money somewhere else. Don’t think I will ever go back. I hope everyone else does the same.
Excellent customer service! The GM is an amazing person who genuinely wanted to help me. I didnt even buy anything from this particular location but regardless, she spent at least 20 minutes of her time trying to help me get a truck after an unexpected crisis arose. We were about 30 minutes into a cross-country move and realized we couldnt go any further with our u-haul trailer attached to our 12 year old sedan. We had over loaded it and needed an emergency upgrade to a 10 moving truck. Her location was just a few minutes away and we pulled in seeing if she could accomodate our upgrade. She immediately tried to find us the truck we needed, even after she noticed there were none available at her location. She called several other locations along our route and even found a $50 discount by switching our return location. What makes this even more amazing is that the store had just had their floors redone and the GM and staff were in the middle of putting there showroom back together. They were super busy but still took time to make sure my crisis was solved. You guys are amazing and have my sincerest thanks. Keep up the good work!

Rented from this location last weekend. I was helped by Sasa. He was very quick and informative. He explained all the things I needed to know but got my out of there so I could start my move as fast as possible. I will definitely be back there for all my moving needs.
Placed a reservation several weeks in advance, confirmed several days before I needed the truck with THIS store. I received a phone call Friday morning before I was supposed to pick it up from a completely different U-Haul facility that this facility didnt have my truck. The reservation was transferred to a store 1/2 half an hour away and I would not be given any additional time and have to pay the additional mileage to pick up a truck from a different location. When I called this location I was told the reservation was transferred because I didnt have a truck and there was nothing they could do. Avoid this location because they lie to customers or perhaps its just a bigger scam from U-Haul to get you to pay more for rentals.
Terrible experience with this location and U-Haul as a company. I recommend that people rent from Ryder instead.I rented a large truck for my move from Ohio to Orlando. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I was given a truck with significant damage on the passenger side. My bad that I didnt notice the damage when I picked it up, but the location did not point out or notify me of the damage. When I returned home and saw the damage, I called U-Haul and they informed me that they were aware of the damage. They offered no help.We proceeded to load the truck as we were under a deadline to move since we had scheduled movers to load the truck for us. My trip to Florida was stressful. The truck handled extremely poorly, was loud and fumes from the exhaust where coming into the cabin - no doubt as a result of the damage from the truck. The floor board in the cab was extremely hot from the excess exhaust.When we returned the truck, I complained about the condition of the truck. Instead sympathy, I was greeted with indifference. The representative then told me that he was going to have to charge me a clean up fee of $25 because I didnt fold the furniture pads which he said was clearly stated on the inside of the back of the truck. Quite honestly, in 100 degree heat, I didnt take the time to hang out in the back of the truck and read their instructions. We proceeded to fold 7 dozen pads in 100+ degrees in the sun to avoid the penalty.After we completed our assignment from the callus representative, I asked the manager if he would consider giving us discount due to the condition of the truck. He said he would check out the truck, but offered no discount or refund.I then received a survey from U-Haul corporate in which I detailed my poor experience. I received no response from anyone. No apology. No discount. No refund.Dont do business with U-Haul. They are an indifferent company that doesnt care about their customers. I spent thousands with this company. Never again.
Getting the hitch installed and the service on the hitch and the wiring was fantastic. The putting the car back together again part, not so much. Took back in to have it installed but missed them which is okay, but i would think that that would be one of the things you make sure you fix before you handed car back to the owner. Looks like I will be doing an inspection on my vehicle like they do on their vehicles. DisappointedUPDATE: Went back, talked with hitch installation gentleman. He denied going in trunk and dismantling, I asked if he could check. He was very sympathetic, checked on desk, found my missing pieces, reinstalled, apologized and informed me there was some family grievances. All in all. Hitch works well. Glad I can start moving on.
I could not be happier with the staff at this location. I was running late to work as I was bringing the truck back, but I was met immediately by a staff member who conducted the return inspection thoroughly and efficiently, and even brought the receipt to my car for me- I got to work on time!
I feel ripped off and I am disputing the charges. I reserved and rented the truck online and agreed to the daily rental charge plus mileage. I rented the truck and picked up and returned it the same day and was charged for two days. Not sure what type of unethical online sales tactics are being used but it reminds me of the old bait and switch. I called the main office and they said there is nothing I can do. Well I called Amex and my attorney will be used if necessary. This is the kind of business practices that give people the wrong perception of all ethical companies. Very disappointed.
Never check their vehicles, rented a 20ft Box truck that doesnt get over 60 and its transmission revs up over 5k rpm. Piece of Junk. Was planning on making it to Maine by stuck in Brunswick Georgia trying to get Uhaul to get me another truck. Just payed them $1000 and they dont wanna work with me on switching this truck out. Horrible experience for Uhaul all the way around.

I had a reservation and they gave my truck away. When I got to this location the sent me to Orange Ave and they said that location had a truck for me, well, I guess they just wanted to get rid of me bc I’m here and there are not trucks. I guess I won’t be moving today because of this company
I would not recommend this place for tow-hitch and wiring installations. They left my car running and unlocked in their parking lot for over two and a half hours after they completed the work I had requested.I took my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek in for an installation and permanent exterior mount of a 4-way flat in preparation for towing. I was told by an employee that they could do a hard install with the wiring connector mounted outside of the vehicle, and that the work could be completed in an hour.I was told by another employee they could do the same install at half the price if I waited a week for another part to come in. I agreed and dropped my car in the following week. An hour later I returned, to find that they were not prepared for my car make and model, and had had to pull the whole trunk apart to figure out where to wire it. They said it would be done in 20 minutes. An hour and a half later I returned to find that the manager, Michael, was still putting together the trunk as the employee who had begun the work had left mid-job with the rear of the vehicle all apart. We also found that they were not doing a hard install with the connection mounted on the exterior, near the hitch receiver, but instead a soft install, with the wiring and 4-way flat connector having to be draped through the liftgate when being used. That was not the installation I was told I would be getting.I returned to pick up my car that evening, to find that they had left it running unlocked in the parking lot for over two and a half hours. My car is a hybrid with a keyless system, and someone had left with the key but failed to push the power button, so it had used up half of my gas tank running the air conditioning for several hours. I have a running timer on the car that proved it had been on for that amount of time.I then looked over the car to find all the bolts on the passenger seat to be unscrewed. They failed to put my car back together properly, and I will have to take it to a registered Subaru dealership to have it inspected for any other errors they have made in the install. I am very displeased both with the installation and the error in leaving my car on and unlocked for such a long period of time.

Took them 45 mins to handle 2 people ahead of us and then didnt even have the truck at that location. That was the systems fault though 1
