09/14/2021 At 7am I picked up a 15 moving truck that I reserved online. Jonathan Palma was the representative who helped me and gave me all the information on the rental and truck for my one way move. I didnt experience a breakdown of the vehicle. However thieves did try to steal the moving truck from me with me inside it! Please be aware you are a target in a moving truck full of your possessions. I never let the truck out of my sight and slept in it. I dont recommend leaving your moving truck and vehicle you are towing unattended while you sleep in hotel. Or depending on the area you are moving to or from I wouldnt leave it unattended on the street near your old/new home.

I needed to rent a van fast. Thought it was going to take some time. The guy working the register got all my information fast and within 10 minutes I was in the van. Very fast service and friendly workers. Very clean vehicle.

My experience at this location was amazing, and George played a critical role in ensuring that I left happy.My day didn’t go as planned. I needed a trailer quickly and showed up during the last hour of business to book a rental. I complained to George about everything that was going wrong. We would troubleshoot my concerns together over the next hour. As the manager was closing up the shop located at 2055 SR-436 S in Winter Park, FL, George worked diligently to find a suitable adapter for the trailer lights. It’s also worth mentioning that I recall him saying to another worker “Treat her right, she’s one of my regulars.” Another one of his “regulars” showed up a little later for a drop-off. After witnessing the superior service I received, it is easy to see why so many choose to return to this location.It was a rough process. I showed up with no reservation and a list of complaints. Not the ideal patron, I’m certain. It takes a rare pedigree of person with a genuine kind of character to put the effort into making someone like me do a complete 180 with my opinion of U-Haul. I am fairly positive that this would have been a 1star review with a scathing narrative had George not given immense effort to change it.With all of the follies that automation and self-service bring to today’s consumer, it is refreshing to have an experience that reminds me of what good customer service used to be like in the past. And this experience was GREAT! I will definitely recommend this U-Haul location to anyone in the area and will be returning here for all my travel needs in the future.

Long review. I needed a hitch installed on my Kia Sorento and got it installed at uhaul. Also bought the ball mount and ball that was recommended to me so I could pull a 12 foot uhaul trailer to Arizona.The day to pick up the trailer, I waited almost 30 minutes to finally be helped. There was only two workers on a Saturday morning. There were 4 people behind me when we got help, and it would be at least 15 minutes until they got help because the guy had to take me to our trailer and connect it so he was in a rush. We go out to the dirt field and connected to the first trailer. Lights didn’t work so needed a different trailer. The other trailer had to be pulled out and because the dirt field isn’t level, the uhaul worker struggled to move it by himself. So my 50 year old father and myself had to help get it unstuck. Once we got it connected, the worker said have a great day and was gone. We understood he would rush but didn’t know this was a bad thing.We bring the trailer back to my apartment and pack it up. We planned to leave at 10pm to drive to Lake City, FL. The trailer was loaded correctly. 10pm comes around and I make it out of my apartment complex and I hear scraping. I get out and check the trailer and notice the connection between my car and the trailer is about 1 inch from the ground. Prior to this, I asked every uhaul employee if my car could tow a 12 foot trailer and if I’d have any issues at all. All assured me everything was fine. I was sold a ball mount and ball with a drop which was not correct. I called uhaul because I paid for the roadside services and told them my issue. They said I misloaded the trailer and if someone came out to help me, I’d be charged. I get off the phone and take out half of the stuff in the trailer and the difference was about 1 inch. So now, which a half full trailer, the connection is roughly 2 inches from the ground. Not even close to enough. I call uhaul again demanding someone come and and flip my ball mount and ball to be a rise mount. They tell me it’ll cost $125 but I couldn’t say no because it was close to 12:30am at this point and needed this fixed. Mechanic said I should have at least been sold a straight ball mount over a drop mount. I showed him the load in the trailer and he said “I thought you’d have heavier things. You shouldn’t have any issues.” He flipped the mount to be a rise and there was plenty of room between the ground and the connection of the trailer. It was close to 2am now, so we decided to sleep in my old apartment for the night, which was very inconvenient considering everything was packed up. My father was there the whole time and he was just as upset as I was, enough to call and complain on my behalf since I was driving across the country. They gave him an update and said I was at fault for what happened. We escalated this and I ended up speaking with Tiffany Bennett, who is the manager of this location, as far as I know. She decided to call me at 8:30am EST. I’m sure she was aware I had relocated across the country to Arizona so it was 5:30am my time. She probably expected the call to go to voicemail and wouldn’t have to deal with me, but the ringer woke me and when I saw Uhaul on the call ID, I knew I had to pick up. She told me that I was at fault but that uhaul would reimburse me for the $125 I paid. So she admitted fault without actually admitting it. She refused to say that I received bad info and said everything was done perfectly on uhauls end. I asked what would have happened if I kept driving and damaged the trailer and my car. She had no answer. She also claimed that the dirt field is level and that the picture they have on file of my car attached to the trailer looks fine. The spot we attached my car to wasn’t level, plus it’s a dirt field. Do they have someone going out there with a shovel and leveling it? Doubt it. I asked for the picture they had for my records and of course, got no response.Photos are the load, what the connection looked like 1 inch from the ground, and what the connection looks like once it was flipped.

There were two workers inside and now there are no employees around to be seen. There are 5 people waiting in line inside. I requested a truck share, to avoid interacting with the desk inside. But my key box is open with no key inside. No help can be given thus far. Also not everyone needs to hear obscene music inside. Surely that’s not the corporate given music to play in the lobby

I had an excellent experience with Jorge and Tiffany at this location. I was very hesitant to have a hitch installed on my SUV because I thought it would take away from the aesthetics, but Jorge did such an awesome job of installing it so that it looks like a part of the vehicle. He also included a couple of complimentary parts that would help to conceal the wires which made a huge difference. The level of care and attentiveness that Jorge and Tiffany provided in making sure my first cross country trip with a trailer hitched to my vehicle would be safe and successful was phenomenal. I arrived safely and I can’t thank you guys enough!!

Scheduled a apt for 2 got there at 145 didt talk to anyone e til 230 when I arrived there was Noone in the front office and they still took ppl b4 me cause they had to wait on the man that install the hitch for 30 so finally they come talk to us tell us that it should take more the hr hr 1/2 top so we leave come back at 5 gave them 3 hr for them to tell us another hour we call to check to. I went to the Semoran location near Aloma to pickup a 6x12 cargo trailer. It took awhile but the Uhaul employee hooked up the trailer and I was on my way. 24 hours later I returned the trailer and a Uhaul employee unhooked the trailer and it appeared he checked it in with the hand held device. Great! All good, right? Nope. The next two days I received calls that the trailer was not returned and they did not have it on the lot. I advised I had returned the trailer and that I had dash cam footage of my return. I was told that they were reporting me to the police and that the trailer had been stolen. I grabbed my laptop with the dash cam footage and went back to the Uhaul on Semoran. I spoke to the manager and she said the police report had already been made and that she had given my information to the police. I pulled my laptop out and showed her that the trailer had been returned. Not only that, I showed her the trailer number that I had been given. She said that is not the trailer that is on my contract. THEY HOOKED UP THE WRONG TRAILER TO MY CAR!!! I couldnt believe it. They made a mistake and I am the one who is reported to the police. She apologized and 10 minutes later I had the completed receipt in my inbox saying the trailer had been returned on time. This was not a great experience. I will not be returning to this location and will avoid Uhaul if at all possible in the future. If I’ve learned anything from this experience, GET A RECEIPT WHEN YOU RETURN TO UHAUL! If you don’t they will report you to the police.

Thanks to Jordan, my entire experience with UHAUL was made simple! I had difficulty/confusion with the online booking but when I finally called he helped walk me through everything. He even helped call around to multiple other locations to check on options for me and upon arrival helped with set up & taking measurements for us literally in the rain. I feel like customer service most places has really suffered since the pandemic but I couldn’t be more grateful for Jordan’s help making one aspect of my move more simple! Service as far as renting they vehicle and getting my vehicle was great. Returning it was an entirely opposite experience. Turned in my truck early and when I turned in my keys they said I was good to go we’ll email you the invoice. Three days later I get a voice mail while at work telling me they have questions about my rental. Couldn’t get them to answer the phone had to call 5 times just to get someone at the location on the phone. Apparently who ever took my keys never put them up on the key rack behind them so they thought I still had them. Luckily they found the keys, who knows where but they found them. Later I notice that the total charged to me was nearly double the estimated amount ($70); so I called to inquire why. Apparently I was charged for two days extra because they thought I still had the keys even though they had lost them. Only reason they’re getting two stars is because service on pick and reservation was good and the guy on the phone returned my money for the extra days charged.

Amazing customer service and friendly staff! I ordered about 40 different sized boxes and other moving supplies online and the store called me when they were available for pick-up. When I came to pick up the supplies, four separate employees helped me out to my car in one trip. Some of the larger boxes were not able to fit but two employees took the time to gently fold them up so they would fit in my small hatchback car. They were kind and courteous the entire time. Ill definitely be coming back when its time to rent a truck.

Rented a truck twice in a few years from this place, and both times they overcharged for fuel fees after returning the vehicle. Second time it happened, we went less than 10 miles, put 2 gallons of gas in, and was still charged. Sent a complaint up the chain, and as illustrated in a few comments, theyre not the most responsive bunch when theyve already gotten your CC# on file and payment extracted. Over charging folks $5-$10 for fuel costs that are hard to definitively prove has likely netted this location thousands annually. I didnt even realize it happened until my bank statement weeks later, so not sure if this is a common practice or unique to this location. Either way, I am looking to rent a truck currently, and while its location is most convenient to me, I will have to look for another truck rental place because of their consistently dishonest, or at best extremely incompetent, staff.

I had a reservation for a 10ft truck and A Auto transport when I get there there is no transport.So I have to drive the truck to another location for a transport, I tell the other location that Im dropping off the transport at the original truck location. He says ok.1 week later I have an additional $165.53 charge on my CC, U-Haul says its a wrong location drop off fee.They are thieves and scammers 5 weeks later and I still havent received a call back or my money. Its sad that people are barely working and they steal your money. Ill be stopping by in person on Monday to really show my fustration.

I took my elderly moms SUV there to rent a trailer for her move and wanted to make sure that the electrical system in her vehicle was properly working. The first guy tested it and said that it didn’t work and needed replaced, I set an appointment for the following Monday. The employee that said it needed replaced was not there. I waited in line and got called to the desk, I explained why I was there and was told it would be an hour or so. After about 5 minutes WENDELL called me into the garage and showed me that it was in working order. Long story short ( yeah, I know ) WENDELL could have very well just said screw it, said it was done and charged me 150$. He didn’t, he did the right thing. We need more WENDELLS in the world, honesty goes a long way. CORPORATE!!!!!!!!! TAKE CARE OF GREAT EMPLOYEES LIKE WENDELL, ACKNOWLEDGMENT GOES A LONG WAY. This location is awesome. Staff is super friendly and professional. It is very accessible and not overcrowded with trucks. The storage facility is indoors and each unit has its individual alarm system even the ones which arent climate controlled.

I loved this location up until this morning I called Wendell the store manager Thursday November 29 2018 after I woke up late and went to the store at 9:30 to return my GMC truck for 19.99 per day also .59cent per mile my truck was due back at 8:00am so the Wendell changed me an additional day so I call customer service 1800 number to escalate the complaint to the regional manager Tom Burns for him to do nothing but tell me ain’t nothing for free I rather spend my money with a local business that values there customers with care I am currently a storage customer as well so I personally will be removing my personal belongings and going to uncle bobs U-Haul lost a loyal customer $1284.00 for the year for this unit will be appreciated to a local winter park location all over $19.99day .59mileTo be honest I am 32 years old and I have been using U-Haul since 18 so this a bitter sweet moment moving I will make sure none of my family are friends use U-Haul

There is no doubt that this U-Haul location is the best in the area. The customer service is far above par. I ordered a hitch to be installed on my car - on line. As instructed on line, a U-Haul rep will call me a couple days before my chosen installation date to set up a time. This happened exactly as promised. When I brought my car in, the staff was extremely professional with just enough personal touches that made me comfortable enough to leave my car behind for a few hours. When I picked it up - again - the professionalism was abound.Since purchasing my hitch, I have had several opportunities to rent trailers and open flat beds for various reasons.At the risk of sounding redundant, The customer service in this location is exceptional. I recommend going there for all your local U-Haul needs - dont forget, they have storage, too. I used the storage years ago for about 6 months when I moved to Orlando. The service is consistant.

Very disappointed in the level of Customer Service the Winter Park, FL / Semoran Blvd center and U-Haul online provided. I dont there could be any CLEARER agreement between myself and U-Haul that I rented a truck. (see the attached photo)WRONG #1-The night before I get a voice message asking to confirm the TWO trucks I rented ( only rented one)!WRONG # 2- I got a second voice mail and then spoke to a nice young man who was confirming my rental of a 17 Foot truck! NO, it was ONE 10 Foot truck.WRONG #3- After waiting on hold as he attempted to clarify the mess up on the truck size, another woman gets onto my call to inform me that because of customers not returning MY truck, there is no truck for me to rent anymore.WHY does U-HAUL OVER RENT THEIR TRUCKS WHEN THEY KNOW FOR SURE THAT SOME WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE!!!Its like a hotel OVERBOOKING their rooms because they assume some will cancel.THANK YOU U-Haul for playing games with my schedule!Its not like I had anything important to do with our truck anyway!Its not that I had to arrange my schedule with 6 other people for Fridayafternoon o get my UNIMPORTANT needs handled!Oh, and THANK YOU for offering me an OPEN TRAILER to move my furniture.... anyone living in the area for more than 24 hours would agree the CHANCE OF RAIN was pretty good! Wish there was a lower rating than one star. I reserved a van to use for my business, gave them a credit card (which they would have charged if I hadnt picked it up) and even confirmed with them by phone that I was coming to pick it up. When I arrived I was informed that the manager had decided to rent my van out to someone else who was supposedly only going to be using it for an hour. I guess he figured why not get two days rental out of it. When I went to get my van of course it was not there and the person when called said they wouldnt be bringing it back till the next day. They tried to blame it on one of their customers!!!! I asked the person at the counter who had decided to rent my van out to someone else and he told me that it was the manager, a young boy who didnt even have the guts to come out and face me to explain the situation himself. I was offered nothing for my inconvenience except directions to another U-Haul where I could get a van. I recommend going a few blocks to Metric and University and using the U-Haul there at the Citgo, good service and they arent liars.

I had a brake controller installed by them and the quality of work was horrible. One wire was wrapped around my emergency brake pedal, the controller was riveted in place and the bracket was not tightened down so it just flops around. There is a wire hanging under my rear bumper that was not cut or tied off properly and another wire under the drivers side is hanging down and not tie wrapped properly. I feel overcharged at $300 for the shoddy work done. Im usually a DIY guy but did not have the time, it just confirmed why I hate paying someone to do things like this because the quality of work is so poor. Never again. Do NOT have these people do labor for you, they will overcharge and do lousy work. I didnt even get the paperwork or manual for the brake controller.

The GM of this location could not have been a bigger, condescending, tool if he tried. He would not listen to anything I had to say. He would interrupt me mid sentence repeatedly. He had no interest in earning my business whatsoever. Money is hard to come by and I will NEVER pay for a bad attitude or poor service. I had a free month of storage from renting a one-way truck and I still chose to throw it away and go elsewhere. They have clearly reached a point where they take their business and customers for granted expecting that they can be jerks because youll have to use them regardless. Unacceptable.

Let me tell you about my uhaul experience. Before today, not much other than frustration. But today, from pickup to drop off, nothing but a great job. I used the automated pickup through the app. I wasnt sure in the beginning but Windle, the best employee uhaul has, walked me through the process. He saved me time and frustration due to me not knowing everything....The truck was in perfect condition and ready to go.Just a great experience. And I will be back once school planning days are in effect. Thanks Windle and Uhaul. Now lets give that man a raise!

While your things are probably safe in the storage, I would not do ANY further business with U-Haul at this location. They installed a trailer hitch on my van and during the first use (less than 2 weeks after install) it was defective: wires hanging and dragging on the road, lights not working on the rented trailer. We had to call emergency service while more than 700 miles from home. They checked it out--indicated the shoddy work and we were forced to stay in a hotel overnight before having it fixed at a different U-Haul location causing us to run late on our return trip. When presented with this information, the manager Mr. Pinkett, said we would not be charged for returning the vehicle late (which was still late only by a few hours) AND would see about getting us a refund for the hotel (for which we provided a receipt). We were charged for a late return and have heard nothing in well over a month. We have used U-Haul for YEARS and this is the first problem weve had. But if this is the way well be treated when receiving inferior service, well take our business elsewhere--and we recommend YOU do the same.
