I have been taking my car here for over a year now and each time the store manager is very polite and helpful. They are always very prompt and easy to work with. On one particular morning my appointment was pushed back due to a high volume of customers and they hooked me up with a great deal for my patience. They value loyal customers and are honest with you always. By far my favorite Meineke location!
I took my vehicle in for a brake problem and to have an O2 sensor replaced. They had it for over a week. When I finally picked up my vehicle I had new problems that I did not have when I dropped it off. Are the brakes fixed yes. However the brake light and ABS light are still on and a bunch of other lights. Like the stabilitrack. Service engine. Parking assist keeps turning off. And when you hook up the code reader there are a slew of issues. The response I was given is none of the work they performed would have caused this and if I wanted it resolved they could refer me to one of there other locations to trouble shoot and go from there. 2400 dollars later and now I need more work done when I did not have any of these issues before. Very disappointed in all of it.
The manager Chad was so completely helpful and super nice. I ended up getting a oil change there after seeing how great he was. I’ll for sure be back there as long as he is there as well as send everyone I know there including my son that now drives. Super great experience. Thanks again!
Went for a diagnosis on my A/C. There was a minor hiccup that occurred, but Tim got it all straightened out for me and was nothing but professional. He went above and beyond to make me a happy customer. I appreciate his help greatly.
I went to get an oil change and tire rotation. This is my second time coming to this location. The service was great. The manager was very informative and assisting. The prices are great and the service was even better.

First off let me start of by saying the manager lied to my face and told me my diagnostic would be free when i dropped my car off last Saturday. Come the beginning of this week I tried to call you pick my car up they charged me 122.00 dollars for labor on a diagnostic that was suppose to be free. I went in to talk to the manager I talked with Saturday he sat in my face and lied and said I didn’t talk to him it was his twin brother. Then was so rude the whole time about the situations. Very unprofessional and I do not recommend people to go there
Scheduled an 8 am appt. Waited around for about 40 minutes and still Noone showed up. Ended up having to take my car elsewhere and pay more. Thought it was ironic that there was a sign in the window with the hours of operation on it and in big bold letters: WERE HERE FOR YOU!.... NO... no you werent 🤣🤣
Sam at the Woodriver Illinois store is awesome!!! He always meets and exceeds my needs for all of my cars repairs. I can’t thank him enough!!!
I came here to get an A!C inspection and after a brief parking lot inspection was told that I needed a condenser and evaporator, which is a $1200 repair.I collected the estimate and went to Dobbs only to be told that all of the A/C components work as expected. They discharged and refilled the coolant ($200) and got everything working again.I would avoid this shop at all costs. They dont conduct thorough inspections and they dont seem motivated.When I arrived the two techs were sitting in the shop area texting and didnt realize they had a customer in the lobby.
I made an appointment for check engine light. When I got there, after waiting for someone to acknowledge I was even there, I was told his manager had taken the testing machine home.He offered to send us elsewhere!
They are always very accommodating to any needs.

Dropped off my truck Thursday evening after tech said he can service before Monday. Called Friday morning tech said was on lift and theyre working on it so I said ok cool, so I check back at 3 & tech said it never made it to the lift. So thanks for that🙃Come Saturday morning he said they cant figure out how to start my vehicle and my keys looked like they were for a different vehicle? Lol ok. I said I never had that problemwith my truck... So they later figured out how to start my vehicle and given me my requested quote for repairs. Then on one of my requested repairs he said he cant fix because its a very slight miss fire(this trips my engine light and cant pass emissions) because his machine cant detect it? What happened to old school mechanics that dont need a machine to tell them whats wrong?! BTW this is a 03 chevy nothing new. Wont be using this location again.. Alton one is better!

My truck exhaust started to get loudp. I called and talked to Chad and asked if he could work me in. When I got there Chad took my information and gave my keys to Steven who put my truck on the lift. After they inspected my exhaust they showed me the problem and had a plan to fix it. Both Steven and Chad worked hard to get me in and out in a timely manner. Im very impressed with their professionalism and hard work. Thank you very much!!
My car needed the ac recharged. I dropped it off to them, and they contacted me about 30 minutes later stating that there was an issue with some o-rings leaking at the valves. Told me the cost to replace them, and I authorized it. I was pretty happy. Got done fast. And fairly priced! Recommend!
My experience was extremely unpleasant. I was there for 5 hours to get new brake pads. While I dont mind waiting, I was told it would take around an hour. On top of that, the part they said I needed was magically fixed when they realized they ordered the wrong part and I was in a hurry. Makes me feel like it never needed fixed and was trying to scam me... credit card machine went down and I was forced to go to an atm to get cash, well the atm that was nearest didnt let me withdraw the full amount needed for the service leaving me with a transaction fee and cash I didnt need.Lets just say I wont be returning to mienke again and will not recommend to anyone ever.

Usually go the granite one was told by granite needed upper arm control which would be 500 . Woodriver said a bolt was loose and it needed adjusted and tighten and it costs 241 granite just lost me as a customer

The guys there were very welcoming and were very quick with getting my car fixed up for me after my workplaces excessive speedbumps made my exhaust come loose and banged up my oil pan. They even let me come see the actual issues themselves to teach me how to diagnose the problems ahead of time.

I made an appointment to have the basic oil change for $19.99 at NOON. I arrived at 11:45am to be told there were no free bays and would I come back in an hour (Why did I make an appointment)? I came back at 12:20pm and it took an HOUR and a HALF to do an oil change. Then, I give him the coupon and he said they have to call someone to bring an oil filter, which will cost me $8.50. Why do I have to pay for you being out of stock? I dont have a special car I have a 2017 Chevy Cruize. The coupon doesnt say $19.99 and if we dont have the filter an additional $8.50. This is false advertising. It makes absolutely NO SENSE! I shouldve just taken the car back to Chevy. Weve always taken our Trailblazer to the Alton store for years and NEVER had one problem. I wont be coming back, thats for sure. Thank you!

Very friendly staff, but junk show of a mechanic shop. Avoid if possible. Came in for a routine radiator service while driving through town. They were friendly and fast. But immediately on the road, my car was running rough. Took it back, they thought they mightve gotten spark plugs wet and said to run it and dry it out. Did that, ran better. The next day its running rougher than ever, and the check engine light is now on. Car was running better before I had them service it, and now Im several hours away with a broken down car.
Took my car in today for muffler noise, they were pretty busy but I wasnt in desperate need. They let me drop off the car and then call me with what needed to be done. Took a bit longer than I expected but they managed to get it done same day and before closing on a Saturday. Overall, I am very happy with the experience.
My 19 year old daughter had exhaust problems on her car. Her dad was her mechanic and passed unexpectedly last week. the guys there took great care of her and never considered taking advantage of a young lady in their shop on her own. God bless them!! We will definitely be repeat customers in the future as needed.

They do a good job at changing oil.. but that where it stops. they will give false info to try to secure overpriced work.. this happened to me.. and i never went back!! told me parts that didnt exist on my vehicle was bad.. wanted $500 to fix.. like i was stupid.
Sadly the worst Meineke Ive ever been to. Went for a oil change got scratched/dented vehicle in return. An was told to fight it out in court by district manager Doug after he lost his cool dealing with the situation. When I picked up my vehicle from the oil change oil had been smeared down the side of my vehicle and on the inside by the steering column. I wiped it off only to find the dents underneath. I immediately brought it to the managers attention which begun my contact with doug ( district manager). The district manager was dismissive from the start. The manager at this location was nice, however the decision to fix a vehicle is not his. So if anything happens to your vehicle be warned you will probably have to fight it out in court. And in most cases it does not make Financial sense. Which is why they will use every opportunity to pretty much Steamroll you and any case you have.

Quality care timely service fair price
Had an muffler removed and pipe put in its place. They did squeeze me in last minute but then charged me a mandatory $65 warranty for a piece of 20” pipe for 12 months. The actual work was only $100 + $65 warranty. Will probably go somewhere else from now on for exhaust work as I don’t need mandatory warranties.

My daughter had her alternator replaced at the store in Alton a year and one month ago,well it acted up. We contacted Alton Meineke and they told us it would be covered under warranty and that since we now lived closer to the Wood River facility there shouldnt be an issue with us getting the warranty taken care at this facility as the work had been performed by Meineke. So I contacted the Wood River store and gave them the name,date and type of vehicle, they told me that they would have to check on it and that they would return my call when they had an answer. I waited approximately 45 minutes with no return call with an answer,so I called to find out if they had just possibly gotten busy and forgotten. The answer I received was Ill have to talk to my manager and then I will get back with you,this was an hour and a half before they closed. During the time I was waiting I contacted the Alton store and asked them if they could get the vehicle in if I could get it too them, they were very accommodating to my daughters problem. I was able to get the vehicle there and they were very willing to serve me as a customer. This ends with no return phone call from the Wood River store and this is another prime example of why businesses fail because of poor management and poor customer service. So if you are in need of customer service I would take my vehicle to the Alton facility .
I would give this place 0 stars if i could. The first time I went in there to get oil changed they charged me an extra $20 for some drain plug then the next time I went in there they messed something up with the drain plug that THEY put it and my car was leaking oil. In February I went there to have the back brakes replaced because I thought well maybe the mistake was a one time thing. Nope. I paid almost $400 to have the back brakes replaced and 3 months later had to have them replaced by an actual reputable auto center and had to pay almost $600 for them to fix what meineke messed up. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Unless you want to have to keep going back every 3 months. Find a good auto center to do your work for you that wont overcharge.

The worst. I was told 2.5 hrs to do my exhaust. Ok that was fine it was getting done from the manifold back. I waited 7 hrs for my truck to get done. When it was finally done there was and is so many exhaust leaks. One o2 sensor wasnt even plugged in. When they went to install another o2 sensor it wouldnt go in so the solution was weld a plug on uside down and put exhaust dope around it. I went and bought the chaser tool the next day to do it myself because i was so tired of being there. I now had another shop look at it to fix it. When they looked at it and i told them i payed 500 dollars for the job, brought in my own catalatic converters and muffler he was shocked at that price. Then i told him i was there from noon to 7 pm he just shook his head. He said never would he let e vehicle leave his shop half assed. That meaning the leaks the o2 sensor not plugged in and one not installed. Very unprofessional. Im not an angery guy and tend to keep my cool but when i looked under my truck the next day i was very upset. I very much do not recomend this place. I do work in a shop myself and understand things happen but i would never let that kind of work leave with my name on it. Being in the automotive industry myself i will make sure i let people know my experiance. Did i mention i was waiting outside for them to finish it because they were closed. And yep i paid 500 dollars for that.Ok now i have an update. Went back to get it fixed and exhaust was actually falling off truck. They welded the brackets to a rusty dirty frame. The manager behind the counter didnt wanna fix the exhaust. I told him i would be willing to talk to a lawyer. His response is i dont care. Wow i guess he thinks i really wont. Asked for the his bosses number. No go he said he cant give out that info. He gave me a 1 800 number. When i called i got some guy in india. Three times i have called and nothing. Also gave my info to the message undet this one and no response. I had my transmission rebuilt and the mechanic called me to find out who put my exhaust on. He said it was the worst work he had seen.

They ran my car off the rack damage my bumper and little more damage .and the manager gave me a lot of problems about getting it fixed and providing me a rental car.over something they did.i had to report to my own insurance company.so please check your car and be ready for them to give you the run around on when they is going to repair it.and do not let them tell you they will use there own repair facility.find your own.they did not want me to call the police or involve insurance.
