I pre-arranged a car to take me to and from JFK last week. The driver (George) arrived a few minutes early, handled my luggage with care, and got me to the airport in good time. The driver was pleasant, the vehicle was clean, the ride was uneventful, and the price reasonable. Upon my return, the driver George was right there waiting to take me back home. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

I needed a car quick and these guys were great. Came to get me really fast and made sure I got where I needed to go. I asked the driver to wait so I can return home and he said no problem. Easy round trip, nice car, driver was friendly.

Never ever had a problem, and I use them all the time, so not sure what these other reviewers are talking about. In fact, I would give them 10 stars if I could!

I was at a friends and we needed a ride to Stew Leonard’s so I called them up and asked for a price and how long for a round trip. The dispatcher was efficient with getting me a price and then sending a car my way. I saved their number in my phone. Love it!

I tried this company on recommendation from a friend. I had really no expectations at all, because I’m realistic about how car services work and mislead you. I don’t drive so I use car service a lot; some are good, others are decent, and the rest are just horrible. This car service was awesome! Upon entering the car I noticed it was well kept and clean. The driver was courteous and said hello, and we exchanged pleasantries. About 5 minutes in I was just listening to music, and I decided to strike up a conversation to pass the 20 min ride. My driver was so chill, he was friendly, and we had a great conversation. The price was comparable, if not cheaper then other car services I have used in the past. My overall experience was great. I will be using them the next time I need a ride.

I used this wonderful service as well as all my employees on our last extended business trip to New York. They were our go to transportation to and from the airport as well as to and from daily meetings and evening engagements. The cars were all modern, clean and quite comfortable. The drivers were always prompt, courteous and friendly. The charges were always quite reasonable. I will definitely use this service for all my future trips and highly recommend them to everyone.

They sent a car to me almost immediately, short wait, the dispatcher was clear with the time, the car was clean, and the driver was nice. I am happy to have found them. I want to thank the big strong driver who picked me at my retirement residence. He met me at the door and put my wheelchair in the trunk of his vehicle. I have arthritic hips and didn’t even have to ask him to help me in the car. I asked him if he worked at a pork store in his spare time and he smiled and said no he was dedicated to his job as a driver. The price was very reasonable as I am on a fixed income. I will definitely use this car service to go to all my doctor appointments.

If you want to have a heart attack before your flight these are your people! Did not show up or call for a schedule pick up time for the airport! When they finally answered after 27 calls it was like nothing even happened ! Unprofessional ! THE WORST ! Do not use them !

I recently used this service from Dutchess County to JFK airport and for my return trip from Laguardia back and I definitely made the right decision . Despite the roads being somewhat slick for my early morning trip, not only was the driver on time for my planned departure, he arrived EARLY. When I saw him patiently waiting outside my door, I went out to speak to him. He told me, “no rush, take your time.”. He assisted me with my luggage and handled it with care. The car was immaculate and late model & the driver was professional and personable. (I believe his name was George). I requested the same driver for my return trip and that experience was as good as the first. The car was there waiting upon my flight’s arrival and the trip home was uneventful. I am glad that I took a co-worker’s recommendation and used this car service instead of one more local to me. The price was good and the service was very good. I will definitely be using this service for all of my airport and cruise port transportation in the future.

I just had laser eye surgery and was blind as a bat. I asked the receptionist to call a car service for a ride home. The driver was friendly and understanding of my visual impairment. Heck he could have driven me anywhere and disposed of my dead body in a ditch. However he drove me home and talked to me along the way. I felt safe and grateful. I will definitely use this car service again.

I used this car service for the first time for an emergency trip to IHOP. My dogs were barking and I can’t stand for very long. The driver arrived within a few minutes. I’m a very large woman and found myself in a very small car. The driver managed to remove one of the seats and fit me in like butter on a hot biscuit. I used this service on my return trip home and this time they sent a SUV. I managed to fit in myself and my leftovers and was one happy lady on the way home. Great car service!

I took a recent trip via train to the city to do some shopping. I had a great day, did a lot of walking and shopping and my last stop was to Costco to stock up on a few things. My shopping cart was full to the brim, my feet and corns were killing me, my gut was full of free samples, and it was time to head to the train station for my return trip home. I called Break to the Border car service to see if anyone was available, and luckily my favorite driver George was available. George arrived in a timely manner and loaded my treasures into his vehicle. Upon arrival to the train station, the driver got me as close to the door as he could, reloaded my purchases into my cart and I was on my way. My first stop was the ladies room, because I had a belly full of samples and the train restrooms are usually horrific. When I reached for my purse to find my special wipes, I realized that I did not have my purse....I had left it in the car. There I was with no purse, no phone, no money (except for the emergency $20 I always tuck in my front pocket - just in case) no return ticket and no wipes. I was beside myself. I headed to the front door, not exactly sure what I was going to do at that point...I looked up the street and there was George heading towards me with my small shoulder bag slung over his shoulder hollering to me.....”Miss.....Miss”. I wanted to run over to him and give him a big hug and a kiss, but I restrained myself due to covid social distancing. Somehow my small purse had fallen on the floor and I did not notice it when I got out; thankfully George noticed it on the floor in the back when he stopped for a cup of coffee down the street. He headed back to where he dropped me off hoping to find me. What could have turned into a very terrible experience turned into a great one. I will always call Break to the Border when I need a car....P.S. George if you are reading this: I owe you a Starbucks and a Cronut next time I am in the city....

I sometimes take cabs when doing business in NY. These people are top notch. The car was huge and the driver knew his way around. Will have to use them again when I fire my driver.

Dont be fooled by the fake reviews by employees and cronies. Shortino is a shmuck. Cars are old and malodorous. They arrive very late (if they find you at all) and have no idea where to go or what to do. Youre better off just walking to your destination.

The service was punctual and the drivers were friendly. They got us where we needed to be with no issues. The only issue was that we were in two cars and at one point the cars pulled up next to each other and I almost saw my bride before the big reveal even after we let them know we didnt want to see each other yet. Aside from that service was good.

Rude dispatcher, terrible service. Theyve left me stranded twice now, most recently at 1AM at Cross County Mall. Said theyd be there in 15 minutes, 30 minutes later when they hadnt shown, I called back and the dispatcher said yeah, yeah, hes coming. Never showed. Ever.

I used to use Break to the Border whenever I needed a taxi. No more. I had called for a very early taxi pickup to go to the hospital the next morning. I was downstairs ten mins before the cab was supposed to arrive; twenty minutes later, no cab. I called, and the dispatcher couldnt have been ruder, saying he wasnt going to send a car because of problems with the building driveway (not my fault if your drives dont know how to go up and down a driveway). Finally showed up: the driver had no idea where we were going, and the car smelled of cigarette smoke. No more.

They are the wrost cab service you will every call too dont ever get cabs from them had the worst experience with them...👎

I really dont understand why they thought it would be ok to send me a car that was smelly and old looking. The driver looked like he had no idea where he was going even with the gps, stopping in the middle of the road to check his gps making last minute turns and exits, horrible so horrible I canceled my ride with them back home, Ill do uber instead

I waited for 50 minutes for a taxi. It never came. I was close to their office and only needed to go a short distance. I called them 4 times to be told they were on their way. If this is how they provide car service, I dont know how they are still in business.
