What a pleasure to buy from real people in a real store! After dissatisfying searches online, I stopped in and found exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price. The staff was helpful. While there are many high end items, there also more ordinary items. I heartily recommend this store for all sorts of lighting needs.

We had looked in several stores for ceiling lights and stumbled upon this store. Excellent customer service - very helpful and patient as we were picky on what we wanted - a resourceful store with different kind of light fixtures. And we were happy with our purchase- perfect lights for our dining and living room.The only con - its the checkout- this store is old school- all receipts are handwritten. But nonetheless, it is perfect & plenty of options to pick your light.

Big selection of lights…. Teeny selection of kindness and customer service. And I had a similar experience to a previous post- no one bothered to ask if I needed help and I kind of felt it was because I looked different as well. I like my money to go to deserving people. The owner is rude and has a smart answer for everything- as you can see the way he responds to the posts that he doesn’t like. Instead of finding a solution, or trying to find a middle ground, he attempts to bully people. There are other light stores not far from him on central Ave that have much more helpful and nicer people with the same selection of lights at a better price.

Between a rude salesperson and a maskless customer spouting anti vaxx conspiracy theories I dont need to go back.

If you want fixtures in your house that DONT look like they came from Home Depot or Lowes, you go here. Much of their wares are high-priced (but worth it), but look closer and there are reasonable items mixed in as well, and always the best quality. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

This is amazing place for beautiful lighting options, decor and bathroom vanities. I purchased my dining room chandelier several years ago. This week I purchased a beautiful large mirror and another lighting chandelier for my entryway. The service is outstanding! Their prices are very reasonable for their high end quality!

The staff at Hi Light was friendly and extremely helpful. They have all kinds of light fixtures for all different kinds of tastes... I was able to find something beautiful that goes with my budget, and she helped me decide on the chandelier I needed for the look I’m going for. She was knowledgeable and honest.

Looking for a kitchen fixture in itself is a pain. But the selection here and the assistance from Emma was amazing. She was very helpful and patient as I’m quite picky. She explained to me how the proper lighting will give me the best results for what I was looking for. There will never be a reason to shop at the big box store again!

So there a pros & cons to purchasing from this store, and as a consumer you should be educatedPros:1.They have a large & diverse assortments of lights (no surprise there), you can turn them on and off, they have enough variety in shape, sizes that you can truly get a feel for what you like and dont like2. They are friendly in that weird new york, sort-of-wont-greet-you-when-you-waalk-through-door kind of way and will help you to narrow down your purchase. but sometimes can be pushy and off-putting for indecisive people like my husband & I.3. adequate customer service in that when one of our lights came into their warehouse broken, they shipped us a new item to our home.cons:1. medieval return policy: they do not refund money back. in the age of amazon, ebay, and google where young professionals have become accustomed to superb return policies where if an item does not work out, we can get a refund, the company does not refund your money back. We found this out quickly enough when we purchased an item shy of 1000$ and were unable to get a refund back. It all worked out because we needed 3 light fixtures; but, what if we didnt need 3 light fixtures?! This alone has discouraged us from purchasing again from the store. its not personal, and this may not be a big deal for some people, but it was for us. Alternatively, they could do a restocking fee as many companies do, and we feel this would be a way to begin to enter the modern age of return policies and allow for more younger customer base to be built.2. Your unable to take pictures of the items, and they have no real information of the items on the floor. In other words, youre unable to verify the materials. For example, if youre interested in purchasing all wood vanity from here, you wouldnt be able to verify except from what a sales person tells you: this is really unacceptable. For example, we purchased a vanity and sales person said it was wood. After the purchase, we did some research and found out that it was engineered wood (MDF). We had to immediately return since MDF is readily known for breaking down in high humidity locations like bathrooms.All in all, fine experience, with room for improvement in some important areas.

Great selection however the new sales team does not know the product they are selling. So beware and they do get rude! I suggest you shop around before you purchase.

15 years ago, my wife and I wanted to buy a chandelier that was unique for our new home. We went to Hi-Light and found the one. Its still as unique as the day we purchased it. Recently we went back for our living room scones. We were not disappointed with the unique and creative options as well as the excellent service. If you want something special and get good service, this is the place.

This is an old fashioned family run business who have all the up to date lighting needs, beautiful vanities and who give you their individualized attention. Got an old lamp you love but cant get it working, bring it in and Ill bet they will fix it. Such a wonderful shop, and I cant urge you enough to come in and see what they have. They had a great selection and were very helpful. I appreciated their honesty, and help finding something in my price range. And terrific quality products and reasonable prices. They didnt try and up-sell me and showed me a huge variety of bathroom vanity lights, in many finishes. I know when were ready for another fixture, well definitely be repeat customers.

There is a fantastic selection of lights, all shapes, all sizes, to fit every need. The salesperson who assisted me couldnt have been more helpful. I bought a ceiling light and had it converted to a swag. When I got it home I realized there was a misunderstanding of what exactly I needed. I called and was told very politely to bring it back and within a few minutes the problem was corrected. They were professional and helpful at every step. I must say this store is a rare find. Everyone is polite and attentive to their customers needs. They Ensure that any and all questions are answered even if you place a call over the phone they go above and beyond to leave me happy.

I bought a kitchen light sconce, previously purchased from Hi-light,in for repair. My electrician had examined the fixture and correctly diagnosed the issue - a wiring and fixture issue due to normal wear and tear. The repair was not properly done. Though the repair was subsequently done correctly, I incurred $400 in additional electrician fees as a result of the initial shoddy repair work. I will never step in this store again. This was very frustrating since every light fixture in my home, my parents’ home and my office had previously been purchased from Hi-light Decorating dating back to 2000.

People of color beware of this store. When you walk into this store, the workers there don’t acknowledge you. I was so happy that I had found a lights store, since I just moved to this area from California. They don’t greet you, or even smile. The tall skinny guy is rude. It’s as if they automatically assume that your not going to purchase anything. I made my purchase because I really needed a chandelier as a Mother’s Day gift for my mom, but I would never go back again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone of color to shop there. They are not Courteous at all!!!! Bad management.

Great place. Plenty of lighting to choose from and the help was right on the money. Went over our blueprints to measure the amount of under cabinet lighting that we needed. They know their business!!!

Overall a great store, a very large selection. Walking around is somewhat maze-like there are so many fixtures and chandeliers and such.Unfortunately they didnt have exactly the product I was looking for (a downrod of specific length, width and finish), but they did help me look for one that would meet my needs.Maybe you dont go shopping for light fixtures all that often, but when you do you should check this place out.

The lighting store has everything you could possibly think of from outside fixtures bathroom fixtures any type of lamp or hanging fixture you could think of bedroom living room it is amazing the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable I would recommend this place to anybody it is a wonderful place in Westchester if they dont have it I dont think it exists

They would give you a good price, but will trick you by making you wait forever and then canceling your order.In addition to this they will only not offer you an apology, but, on contrary, be rude, disrespectful and angree if you complain.This is the worst service I had ever received in Westchester and most humiliating shopping experience.
