Doug came out to diagnosis our pool pump. Doug stated we required a new one but didnt have our current model in stock but recommended another model. He also informed us the problem stemmed from running the pump during the day since it is so hot and recommended us to run it at night. When the pump came on that night it was extremely louder than our previous pump. We notified Doug and he stated that is due to the model we purchased, which he never stated it would be louder only that it was black in color instead of țan. We called the vendor Doug purchased the pump from and they stated it shouldnt be loud and they felt it was a faulty pump. We notified Doug and received no response. We called the office to elevate the matter and the receptionist was horrible at returning calls. Finally Doug informed us he would replace the motor but we would have to pay for labor to install! How is that our responsibility? They should reach out to their vendor where they purchased the faulty pump. The pump cost $195 and the bill we received was for $593.31 they are charging $350 for labor! And they want to charge us another $350? This has been such a headache and we recieved the worst customer service. I suggest you going elsewhere for pool services. BTW, according to the receptionist, the owner Paul stated he would pickup the pump and part ways instead of rectifying the problem. Paul tried to fix the situation when he saw my review, but we still have a loud pump we have to run during the day. Doug ended up breaking the timer, and informed us he replaced it at no cost. Well we received a bill for $80 and called the office and requested a call back to discuss. No one ever called back. We finally got a hold of Doug and he said it was his fault, he meant the labor was no charge! I told my husband pay the bill we need to cut our losses and never use this business again. What happened to customer service and accountability.

My husband and I recently bought a home with a pool As first time pool owners we had no idea what we were doing. Our pool turned a sickly green and despite our best efforts we werent able to get the water back to a healthy state.I called NM Pools and Spas and they were able to fit us in quickly. They came, tested the water and did their best to see if it could be chemically treated. Unfortunately we needed to dump the water and start from scratch. They emptied the pool, did an acid wash, changed out the sand in our filter and made the process of refilling the pool as easy as possible. For every appointment, the gentleman who were performing the maintenance/cleaning were on time and absolutely pleasant to work with. They spend time to explain every step of the process and were happy to answer all of my questions. Were very pleased with the services we received and the cost, to me was very reasonable. Were able to enjoy our pool again.

I had big dreams to own a pool one day and I finally got the courage to look into it. I got several quotes but New Mexico pool and Spa won me over....things started smooth. Planned the design, digging got started and then everything went downhill from there. I was told it would be done by a certain time and that didnt happen. The design that was agreed to didnt happen, luckily I saved the email and the foreman tried his hardest to fix what he could. We placed our pool long ways because the owner of NM pool and spa thought it was more appealing that way which I do really like but we asked doesnt it have to be so many feet from our brick wall? We were told no because it was the back wall. Shortly after the pool was being framed we get told the wall has to be moved out. We just agreed to it and they did pay for the extra bricks but left me a 5 foot by 15 foot dirt hole at the end of the pool which we had to then pay to get concrete put in. For forty grand I did have high expectations and thought the pool would have less flaws. The concrete is uneven inside the pool which during the day you cant see but at night you can see it when the light is on. There are also chips out of the bottom of the pool which have cut up friends feet. I know concrete is challenging to work with but it looks sloppy. We had them put in holes for volleyball posts and there is still orange tape around them and in the skimmer, I definitely thought they would make sure it was cut off/cleaned up and made nice. Then we also had wholes put in the sundeck for umbrellas and there is concrete in the caps and we cant get them out to put umbrellas in. We also paid extra money for a really good cover but it constantly goes off its track and then doesnt close all the way. When you open the cover I was told that it would tucked in so you cant really see it but it sticks out and covers some of the deep end step. Then my second step was cracked before we even put water in the pool. I told them about it and they said once water was in the pool you wont even know its there which is not true. We shipped water in because we live on a shared well and guess what? The crack is still there and noticable. Two years later during summer months when we are using the pool now they send a crew out to fix the crack but never told me they would have to drain the pool down to below the second step, maybe I should have just known this but I didnt really think about it. I had to have them stop because then I would have to pay to have water brought in. This might sound petty to some but its a lot of money to have so many issues. I just feel that my dream of owning a pool has become a nightmare. It makes me sad that this experience was not a better one. After back and forth emails and awful communication from the start I thought I should share my experience so that those looking for a new pool know what to expect and what they need to keep an eye on if you use this company. I have been afraid to say anything because we do have warranties and really dont want to be treated any worse but Im just so sad every time I look at my pool. Its just heartbreaking. Pictures attached (although it wont let me upload all of them).

If you want a company who uses your half finished pool to market as complete on Facebook and then never show up to complete the job they started then this is absolutely the company for you. They lie and tell you a million excuses and just leave you in a bind on an incomplete job We had to subcontract out the rest of the work they left unfinished. Don’t be fooled by their seemingly competitive prices or Facebook pictures because it is smoke and mirrors at least in our case, They are unprofessional, unreliable and a joke of a company to deal with!

It is very hard to find reliable and competent pool people. NM Pool And Spa have come through for us repeatedly over the years. Doug provides good estimates and does the work when he says he will. On our most recent job he left off an item. When I called him about it he came out and completed the item without charge. Once, 4 years ago, we used another company...the name rhymes with leisure: never again! The other company were either incompetent or criminal. A $100 gasket repair cost $5000 after they drained and jackhammered my pool. The result was my hot tub has never been the same.

Do not use this company. Period.Update: The request was to please come out on site for a free consultation and explanation of the inspection done so we could continue to move forward in a contract together . Again, this response is an example of a lack of professionalism and not customer care. I do not seem to be the only disappointed customer.

From designing our pool to learning how to maintain and run it, all of New Mexico Pools & Spas employees were beyond helpful. Building a pool is a huge project. With so many decisions to be made, New Mexico Pools & Spas walked us through every step. From removing literally over 25 dump truck loads of sand from our backyard to level it out, digging the massive hole for the pool, building a retaining wall, pouring the pool and deck, adding the equipment, and then the final touches like tile, color and texture to our pool deck, a fountain with stacked stone, lighting, etc., all staff were extremely helpful and respectful of our wishes and of our property. We never have had any issues with communication, even to this day. We can always call the office and have our questions answered or an appointment scheduled. It is nice to work with a company that is well-managed and that understands and listens to the desires of its customers.

I Can only give NM Poos and Spas 2 stars. Hired them to do a complete renovation of our existing pool. After numerous calls to schedule they did finally commit and complete the deck and interior tile. The job looked great! tried to get a quote for the interior of the pool and did finally get a verbal quote which I budgeted for. The completed job was to take place in the Spring. After trying to contact the owners multiple times to schedule the interior I was re-quoted a much higher price that the verbal quote I received in the Fall. Okay so chalk this up to experience always get a written quote. With the level of difficulty I had trying to get in touch with them I was just glad that they actuality took the time to reach out to me. I gave them the okay to complete the job and never heard back. Weeks went by with no contact so I called the office on El Pueblo. The office manage was very polite and told me she would contact the owners to get in touch with me. Again one week went by and no contact. Finally with no other no other options I was forced to go with another company. In my opinion you will die of old age waiting for these guys to contact you. NM Pools and Spas good products bad customer service.

Have been a new pool owner with our new home in Albuquerque, new to us. The pool is about ten years old and has had a few minor issues, which have been resolved. Turned on the pump today and it was more than a small leak. After a brief phone call with Paul the GM of New Mexico Pools and Spas, Paul was on his way to diagnose our problem. After Paul arrived he had isolated the leak and had the ten year old pump repaired and working better than before. Very professional and courteous. Thanks.

I’ve had the unfortunate circumstance to be the neighbor to someone who used this company for installing a pool. This company is beyond inconsiderate when dealing with the neighbors! They have blocked my driveway numerous times, used my driveway for their purposes and have destroyed a portion of my yard. We have told them countless times to please stay off of our property and they have never listened! I’m fairly certain they just don’t care. If this is how they treat their customers neighbors, I couldn’t image how they treat their customers!
