Told me they had to take my order outside because i didnt have a mask even though i saw multiple people not social distancing without a mask on inside. I could tell the older women who told me this was very neurotic so its not surprising. She also said it to me in a very rude way so i just left. Will never be back thats for sure.

I’ve been going to Daily Projects since the week they opened. I would argue it’s the best coffee shop in the area.Their prices are fair. The drinks are consistently made to perfection. I can’t speak to the food as I’ve never ordered something besides the baked goods (which are very good by the way).Seeing their growth in the last few years has been great to see.I hope when the worlds returns to some form of normalcy that they invite Metric Coffee back out for a workshop. That was a lot of fun!

Very pretty venue with great tasting coffee! Will go again. The menu is expansive and the food is quality. We went when it was quite busy, and a few things could have been better. When you order coffee, they dont ask for a name or give you a number. As a result, there was lots of confusion about whose coffee was whose after it was made. Im pretty sure another customer got my order as they ordered the same thing after but claimed the first made (How would they have known not to?).Food is brought to a sign they give you at ordering, but perhaps because it was busy, these werent always collected after food was delivered. And, since you have to get your coffee at the counter but food at your table, there were many numbers at tables with no people, or worse, food at tables unattended while people stood for their coffee. Itd be nice if coffee and food could be brought together so this wasnt the case.Besides these few hiccups, it was a perfect experience. And, Im sure, these are only issues when its really busy.Edit: Been back in less busy times. Service has been great each time. Above comments still stand, but I figure now Im a regular they deserve 5 vs 4 stars.

Left this review on Yelp and figured it also belonged here:Always happy to come in and give some money to this business. The drinks are always thought over by the staff and you can expect a very clean/easy experience. Im a cafe worker at a local Barnes and Noble and the one thing that consistently impressed me about Daily Projects is the work they put in to achieve a friendly atmosphere. The staff is great and pays a lot of attention to making sure the regulars feel welcomed. For example, as someone who isnt allowed to ask people to wear a mask at my job, I can guarantee you that while the policy might lead to a couple grumbling reviews from people who had never stepped foot in the place previously, there are a dozen more considerate people who were silently appreciating that the staff had their backs. In times like these, when Im not eating out too much anyways, this is exactly the kind of spot I feel justified in spending my money. Go support these guys! Keep up the good work DP!

I have driven by this place before several times when I had to travel on Algonquin Rd. to get to the place I used to work at and never knew what it was. Last week I met my mangers for the curtain place I work at here for a one-on-one meeting. I looked up the menu online and was happy to find 3 drinks that would interest me. As someone who has issues with dairy, I was happy to see that there were non-dairy alternatives to be added to drinks if need be. Also, I saw a wonderful treat on the menu that I wanted to give a try as well.I had a hard time deciding between the 3 drinks ((midnight moon lemonade, hibiscus shaker which has coconut milk already in it, and hibiscus berry sparkling iced tea)), but I was able to settle on one, which was the midnight moon lemonade made with butterfly blue tea and lemonade. Im so glad that I got this drink because it tasted so good and it was such a lovely color as well! It does need to be mixed up, so you dont get a mouth full of the syrup thats within it. Even my mangers though that the color of the drink looked awesome. It was still socially distanced inside of the building, but we were still able to find a spot to sit and it felt nice and comfortable inside as well. I liked all the art work on the walls and all the other decor that was scattered around as well. We sat at the long table in the middle of one of the rooms and I didnt feel as if there were a lot of people hovering around and breathing down my neck. It was pretty quiet in there and we kept our voices at a nice volume, but there was one guy on a Zoom Meeting, so he was a lot louder than everyone else within the building. Kind of annoying and I even felt embarrassed as well, even though I didnt know this guy.The only reason Im docking one star is because THE KITCHEN CLOSES AT 2PM!!!! Yes, that needs to be in all caps because I know there are people who are going to go there and hope for a warm treat only to be disappointed that the kitchen is closed. I was looking forward to the fruit waffle, as Im a dog walker and was out walking dogs all day before the meeting, so I was really hungry! I was so upset when I found out that I couldnt get the waffle because my meeting time was after 2pm. I ended up getting a chocolate crescent from the pasty case. It held me over for the walk I had after the meeting, but it wasnt something I could live off of. I noticed that their hours are pretty short, as it looks like they close at either 4 or 5pm, but I wish theyd keep the kitchen open until closing, so anyone who stops by can grab something warm and fresh to eat.

IMO this place has changed for the worse since they first opened, and it’s a big bummer. Came in on a weekend (granted, 30 minutes from close) and was pretty disappointed by the brisk, impersonal service and overall poor upkeep of the place. The decor is strangely pieced together and the atmosphere feels cluttered and a little grimy. Plus, the cup the barista gave me for my tea was dirty. Yuck.

This is the first time at this place. Unfortunately my experience there was terrible. The girl behind the glass of the counter tells me I have to lift my mask. She didn’t welcomed me or anything and when I said I have a respiratory issue she just said: you have to leave. And I left.I understand the time and the situations we all are going through, but we shouldn’t forget to be polite and understanding. And is not that this place was crowded. It was not.I was with my daughter and I was very close to the entrance door. No body else was there, except a few customers sitting at the table area on the other side of the Coffee Bar. It’s true that my mask wasn’t all the way covering my nose. However, I had half of the nostrils of my nose exposed to breathe since my nostrils are very small due to a surgery I had many years ago.I believe reviews in business help to grow.I won’t be coming back. Not for the the mask incident, but for the lack of customer service.

A new gem for the burbs!I currently live in Milwaukee but grew up and lived in the Algonquin area for most of my life. There were a few cafes that would pop up that were nice, but they often didn’t last very long unfortunately. Even though I would much rather support a local coffee shop, It seemed like the only consistent coffee destination available was Starbucks. When I moved to Milwaukee I got spoiled by the sheer volume of excellent local coffee shop options it has to offer. A Milwaukee friend got a job in the northwest burbs and asked me if I had any coffee shop suggestions in the area, and I wasn’t able to encourage him on the subject, because the burbs really don’t have a ton to offer! But now I’m happy to say I now can give a suggestion if I get asked again! This place is clean, has friendly and kind staff. It has a good selection of coffee and tea. Normally I’m a coffee person, but I had already reached my max caffeine intake for the day so I opted for some of the Shaken teas. The Chamomile Grapefruit tea was delicious. It seems to be the perfect atmosphere to get work done or catch up with a friend!Definitely impressed to find this place in Algonquin!

Came here for the first time today and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. They had a very versatile menu. For a non-coffee drinker like myself, I liked that had a ton of options for me to choose from. They had coffee, tea, smoothies, and even food. They made it very challenging for me to choose just one drink! I really liked the Strawberry Matcha Latte and their snickerdoodle cupcake. In my opinion, the prices were fair to the quality of their goods. I will definitely be going back to try more of their unique creations.

The person that took the order was sweet as pie but who I would guess is the owner was just rude and uptight, she was snappy about everything and when I tried to upgrade my cup size to fit a customization she refused and insisted it would fit in the smaller cup even with additions which seems silly since I was willing to pay for a larger size but I guess even though they have the larger size they wont sell it that way no matter what. Ordered 2 lavender blackberry earl greys. 1 had milk. 1 did not. Waited 30 minutes for a avocado tuna sandwich. 3 people ordered after me and received their food. I was then asked what I was waiting for and they told the kitchen. Cashier referred to me as sir multiple times to which I responded “ma’am”. I was then asked after 30 minutes if I also ordered a muffin, which I had received 30 minutes prior to. 3 people also walked in without masks so either there is no mask ordinance here or they don’t enforce it. A great spot, and though its not always busy, a popular one. Main thing: a place for people to get a cafe drink and maybe light food while getting work done or just meet someone - but by name the former. They offer top quality local coffees and a modest menu of higher-end daytime light fare. The atmosphere is a mix of minimalistic rugged/modern with some light natural touches. Ive been going to Daily Projects almost weekly since they opened. They recently rebranded, & every one I talk to can agree that we wish it would go back to how it used to be. It was always a light & airy place to study, chat with friends over coffee, or grab a delicious, healthy bite to eat. Seriously, everyone was obsessed with Daily Projects. Now, its converted into a diner that sells shakes and burgers from open to close, covers their sunny windows with lace, and plays their music too loud.Their food went up in price and down in portion size. Although the coffee is still amazing, their baristas used to understand coffee and you could sense their passion for it, but now its mostly high school kids who seem very confused with the new changes and branding--just as much as all the customers. Every time Im in there, something has changed, and the lack of consistency is bad for customer reliability. The area needs a coffee shop, not an overpriced stake n shake. Hope it brings back their yummy food and good vibes. Wishing Daily Projects the best, its been the place to go for years!
