I just moved to Amarillo in November and everyone I knew didn’t have a suggestion for a mechanic. So I looked up on google maps and found Arenas. The reviews I read were very encouraging. I didn’t have to worry about being taken advantage of and he explained and showed me what needed to be done. I have no idea what repairs cost generally but the cost comes second to his integrity. I trust him to do the repairs right and have felt very satisfied with the amount of time it takes to get my vehicle back. I will continue to go back! I’m super happy with my experience here.
1st time here 4 weeks ago, had an alignment done despite the owner, Louis Arena, saying he was worried about being able to lift my factory coupe?? Did the best they could and it was much better, but was told it really needed a control arm kit, tow bar, and struts. Car started grinding 2 weeks later so despite living 40 miles away, called Louis since he was familiar with the issues and I figured it badly needed those things he mentioned. After providing vehicle model, make, color, and previous problem list, Louis says Drop it off, well take a look. He calls back an hour later saying the hub assembly is now bad and quotes me $400. When I told him we cant do that today, he suddenly mentions therell be a diagnostic fee. My wife and I get there and first he brings me keys to the wrong vehicle. Instead of explaining why something new is wrong, hes 100% more concerned about the fee..Whos gonna pay me??. He proceeds to tell us theres NOTHING WRONG with the control arm or tow bar until reminding him he was worried about lifting the car. OH yeah! Im human, we all make mistakes! All kinds of s**t is f****d up on this car! Didnt remember you cause youre wearing a mask!!..???(I wore a mask the 1st visit too) When we declined to pay the fee, he got in me and my partners faces, screaming, cussing when we hadnt been, clapping, grabbing his genitals, calling us dear.. Ordered his shop hands to bring a jack out to show us since obviously we dont know the terminology. Way past that at this point. How can I trust you if youre telling me what needed fixing before isnt broken and its something totally different?? He finally says we can just take the car and go. Unprofessional, untrustworthy money grubber!! If Id gotten it on video wed have gone to the news instead..
Great help. Polite conversation and speedy service.Support local business this is a good one!!
Was having a problem with my car, didnt know if it was battery or alternator. The gentleman that helped me was awesome! He did code scans on my car, no charge,, and determined that it was a battery issue. Inexpensive and easy to fix. Thank you so much!
The Only person I trust with my cars. Dose the best job he can do each time. Also gives you the best price you can get.
AMAZING SERVICE! Very honest, straight-forward, and clear cut service. No gimmicks. I was on my way back to RGV from Colorado when my car broke down a couple of miles outside of Amarillo. Although he didn’t have towing services on-site, he sent out a tow truck to me, made sure I was there safely. Immediately checked my vehicle (even though he had a lot of work ahead of me), told me what the price would be and how long it would take. Everything was provided as expected. He even did a thorough check of the vehicle to make sure we didn’t have any other issues on the long drive home. Very amicable and trustworthy! I have never had better service! I have a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee and he knew exactly how to fix it! Trust in his work and experience. You’ll be happy you did!
Great costumer service and great auto repair and fast
I never have to bring my car back for the same repair. The owner is a courteous and knowledgeable man. Nice shop and lobby as well.
Reputable Mechanic, need an appointment cos hes always busy!
I lived in Amarillo and moved to Lubbock. My Chrysler 300 engine mount was bad. I repaired radiator in the past. Had trust on this auto-repair so I drew all the way to Amarillo just to get my car repaired. Very happy with service and timely service. I got my car done in one and half hour. Thats just awesome. Very reasonable price. I compared to Lubbock it was just awesome. If i need further care, I will not hesitate to drive to arenas again. Thanks.
Great place to get your automobile worked on and get your state inspection at.
I was referred to Arena’s by my sister who hasused his service for several years. I am very happy with his service. He gave a second opinion on a repair suggested by a dealer and explained why he felt they were incorrect. He made the repair he diagnosed costing a fraction of the other estimate. The car runs better than it has in awhile.
Mr Arenas knows what he is doing very well. It was my first time ever to get an alignment and he took the time to explain the process. Very impressed and will be using arenas from now on
I came to this Auto repair shop passing through today on my way to Dallas. This man was very friendly, honest and had fair prices. He was very quick to help me out and get me back on the road. I wish this shop was in Dallas. I highly recommend if you want good friendly service!
Went to this shop to get an inspection. I arrived with no one in the waiting area and no one behind the desk. Two customers came in behind me. An employee responded to the front desk and proceeded to help the two customers that arrived after me, (obviously because he was acquainted with them). Once he completed their transactions he turned to me and asked if he could help me. I told him I needed an inspection. He said it would be about an hour because he hadn’t eaten. I went to my vehicle and as I searched for another inspection station, the employee did come and kind of apologized. He said there was no one there and all of a sudden there are four people standing there. Understandably, it was a late lunch because it was 3:00pm. However, it was not my fault, or any other customer’s fault that he was eating a late lunch. Running a small business can be tough, (especially when business is good). He had many options including eating on the fly or having more help. At any rate, he did apologize but I will not return.
I called last minute to see if he could get my jeep fixed. He got my jeep in the next day. Called me to tell me what all he needed to fix and prices. He did an amazing job! He had my driveshaft rebuilt and my jeep ready for me to pickup that same week! Very affordable! We have drove my jeep to Indiana and back to Texas after his repair with no problems at all! Highly recommend!!
While driving from California to Savannah, GA on I-40, check engine light came on the Subaru west of Amarillo Friday night. Thinking it would be impossible to find any service on a holiday weekend Saturday, great reviews came in for Arenas Auto Repair. Louis quickly diagnosed an emissions related issue, told us we could continue worry free and could address the issue later, and would accept no money for the diagnosis. Honesty, quick, and a pair of two good dogs.
We rolled into this city with an issue with our truck. The mechanic quickly figured out the issue and helped resolve it immediately. The mechanic is also friendly and helpful! The inside of the building is both clean, and relaxing, as well. I recommend anyone living in this area, or simply staying temporarily, to come here to resolve his/her automotive issue(s).
I was on a road trip to California when my AC broke between Fort Worth and Amarillo. I called to the shop, came there next morning and they fixed it in few hours (if we had some luck it could have been done in an hour, but 3 hours are still great). The price was better then expected. The shop owner is very nice and honest guy and if I had trouble with a car close to Amarillo I would definitely go to this place.
Words cannot describe how great my experience was with Arenas Auto Repair. The catch is, I didnt even have my car serviced. I was travelling from Southern Illinois all the way to Utah, when along the way on I-40, my Check Engine light came on 65 miles before Amarillo. Given that this was the closest place I could find on Google and the business had such good reviews and ratings, I made my way towards the shop.I was greeted by two precious dogs, and spoke with Luis. Let me tell you, Luis is EXCEPTIONAL, and his customer service was above and beyond! He is very knowledgeable about vehicles, and apart from the information given from the diagnostic, he went out of his way to explain various things about my vehicle that would be very helpful once in the mountains. I honestly took away information I wish I would have known 15 years ago, which is why Im so glad I stopped by. I 100% would have had the mechanics fix my transmission; however, given the time frame of my job starting and the upcoming winter weather, I had to keep on my journey. In all, whether you reside in Amarillo, or are coming in from miles and miles away, please stop by Arenas Auto Repair Shop for your vehicle needs. I guarantee youll leave happy!
Honest work at a fair priceI got my fuel injector cleaned and my alternator changed out here. They offer fair prices and get the jobs done in a timely manner.Hard to find clean quality mechanics now-a-days. But these guys are good.
The BEST auto service shop Ive ever been to. Theyre honest, hard working and caring people. Lewis went out of his way to help me even though he was in a time crunch. I recommend everyone go here if youre in Amarillo and need help with your car. We need more places like this!
From all the past experiences I have had with mechanic shops I have came to the conclusion that the majority can not be trusted. But I can honestly say after using Arenas a couple times I can tell these guys are honest and genuine people that take pride in quality over quantity. The impression I got from my experience with these guys is they want to do everything they can to help not do everything they can to make an extra dollar. They were very reasonable both times and had my car ready the next day. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is good to know we have a place you can actually trust.
Luis Arenas fixed my car and gave me very clear information on what was going on. He took care of everything in good time and it was probably the friendliest service Ive ever had! The price was very reasonable and Im glad I found a place I can trust.
Mr. Arenas is a good, honest, moderately priced mechanic. I have never been disappointed.
Louis,Not only offered troubleshooting over phone for NO FEE ! I was 1700 miles from home low on funds with my whole family. He literally saved us from disaster by letting us, total strangers pay balance in payments. He troubleshot the problem and did it for a very fair price as well as offering the balance on paymentsHe is honest, caring and a true professional, I wouldnt bring your vehicle anywhere else if your even close to Amarillo come see Louis . I wish he lived even within 100 miles, I would go see Arenas Auto repair .Dont go anywhere else until you see Louis.God Bless you Louis and all the best.
ARENAS does great work and are honest and upfront with estimates and pricing.
I am an out of state grandpa. Called Arenas repair to check out granddaughters newly purchased ( and subsequent needed repair) Ford Escape. They went out of thier way to diagnose and repair in ONE day. They could have taken advantage - but did not- simply fixed it honestly and reasonably priced.Best recommendation I can give.....Would send my granddaughter there to do business!Excellent customer service and honesty!
The guys are awesome and great with customers. I even got a warranty that is good nationwide on my repairs. This a real shop with real customer service and knowledgeable skilled workers without all the dealership, franchise chain high prices and over suggested replacements.Traveling from Austin to Denver. I got to Amarillo and had a clicking noise on my truck. I knew something was wrong but could not determine what it was. I turned down Amarillo Blvd hoping to find a local shop. I found Arenas. Looked good and clean and professional so I stopped to see if they might help me.They did help me. They helped me unhook my trailer without having to unload it.They understood I was traveling and needed to get back on the road as soon as possible. They went for a ride with me to help determine the problem. Then they did several checks and narrow it down. Then they proposed a couple of possible ways to fix the problems. They gave me options with new parts and rebuilt parts and let me choose what fits me the best.Fours hours later and some ujoint replacements, I am back on the road to Denver.I also watched these guys interact with other customers. They are real people and treat you like you are best friends.I could not ask for a better experience. Also had a great meal at Serranos restaurant just a short walk away from them, while I waited. Thanks guysCS
He is the best
Honesty and integrity. Thats what you get at Arenas Auto Repair in addition to the great service. Thats what will keep me coming back to them. Louis, the owner, is a man of his word and you just dont find that very often in the auto service industry. I highly recommend Arenas to anyone looking for a honest and dependable place to take your vehicle.
Just had my transmission rebuilt and wanted to wait a week to see how my car ran and it runs amazing! I have also had other work done here and Arenas is the ONLY place I will trust my car to be worked on. Great service all around!
Good work at a reasonable price, and mr. Arenas is an honest man. Youd do well to have your automotive work done here...
Honest, fair, and quick. Its my go to for anything I need done.
We were passing through on our way back to Nevada on a Friday evening in July with 97 degree temperature when our A/C compressor crashed. Louis met us on Saturday morning and he and his mechanic worked non stop to replace the A/C system and get us back on the road. Very honest and reliable.Thank you Louis!
Getting to town late in the day my brakes started making strange noises, I pulled in and asked for them to be checked, my back brakes had completely stopped working and came apart. They had me back on the road in just over an hour. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable, affordable and courteous.
Highly recommend! My car has been acting funny for the past year or so, and especially bad for the last 2-3 weeks. Im new to the area so I just randomly picked this place because of the good google reviews. So I dropped my car off at the shop on a Tuesday evening and by Wednesday afternoon got a call saying it was ready to go. He figured out what was wrong and got the part replaced so fast. I have been driving for a week since then and my car is doing great! Very helpful and honest work, much better experience than Ive had at other big name auto shops.
These guys are GREAT!! Problem solvers who are incredibly thorough and meticulous. Nearly pulled off a miracle finding a part for my VERY old van and saved me from a grossly over filled oil change that was done elsewhere. Cleaned up the mess in my engine from the excess oil and replaced a part that has nearly gone the way of the dinosaur. So glad I found them! Thanks for taking such great care of my van!
Fair prices and will not try to sell you what you dont need.
Bought a 2013 Dodge Ram 4500 in Houston and drove to Oklahoma City to pick up some semi-truck parts thinking a new truck would not give me any issues while heading home to Los Angeles. While driving on the I-40 and stopping for fuel my transmission jammed between P and R. I did a small gimmick job to get it to work and called Arenas speaking with Luis who met with me right away, helped diagnose my problem and double checked which parts I needed. I didnt have time to stop and do the job there but he directed me to what the problem was and how to fix it myself at a savings. He charged me whatever I felt was fair for his diagnostic and professional information. If I lived in Amarillo I would make Arenas my mechanic of choice. Unfortunately in Los Angeles I have to still look around for someone reliable.
Good service, they were able to get my vehicle looked at writhin hours.
This is the shop to go to for all your automotive needs. They are the best people, down to earth and I have no problem sending my wife to him and she is always treated with the best respect. They have my business.
Awesome service! My husband and I were moving across country and our car broke down in Amarillo. We called Arenas Auto Repair & Service on a Saturday night and they took time out of their weekend to help us get back on the road. The service and work were both exceptional and we cant say enough good things about this company. Thank you again, Mr. Arenas!
They did an awesome job with my transmission! Thank you guys!
Went there for a service. Called before going there and they said it is open. When I arrived at the place, the gate of the compound was not opened. Tried calling the shop to ask them how to enter the compound since gate was closed. First 2 calls reached voicemails, the next calls were deliberately rejected (disconnected after 2 rings). Thats not how you do business. Terrible. Wont use them for anything.
I called the shop and asked him about installing a muffler on Tuesday 01/15/19. He told me the price and said he would be available Saturday 01/19/19 and to be there at 8 AM sharp. On Thursday 01/17/19 before I had an appointment at the VA hospital, I got out early and had time to stop by. I went into his office and he informed me, without knowledge of who I was, that he wouldnt be able to get me in until maybe Monday. So, I would have drove 45 miles at 8 AM on a Saturday for nothing.
We have taken our company fleet and personal vehicles here for years. The owner is almost always on site and always treats us fairly and does quality work.
My wife is in Amarillo for a few months for a temporary job and our car broke down on her the day after she got into town. The guys at Arenas were kind enough to tow the car to their shop to diagnose the problem. Within a couple of hours they had figured it out and fixed it without adding charge after charge. Sometimes it can be hard to find honest people in this line of work. Im glad there are still some out there.
Awesome place. Car wouldnt run right, so I had it towed here. They immediately brought it in and hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to try to isolate the problem. Turned out the water in the fuel froze, creating a blockage. They let it run for a half hour, then I got back on the road, and they didnt even charge me for the work. Thanks a lot guys, keep up the good work!
Shop is terrible unless you have money to burn or you want to send your ex-wife, mother in law or someone you really dont like. The reason their car will not get fixed, and they will pay a ton of cash. I took my car to get checked because my AC wasnt working. I was quoted a flat fee for inspection of the A/C system, however; I had to call(I took 4 days so I called) to find to find that I would be billed $300 because mechanic had spent 3 hour of labor with nothing to show for. Owner was pressuring me to change A/C compressor & condenser with no guarantee it would work. I will never do business at this place my friend fixed my AC for free he told me to replaced DIODE A/C fuse a 15 dollar fix
I was driving alone from AR to OR with my german shepherd dog and started hearing a funny noise. I of course panicked and contacted my boyfriend who felt like it was a catalytic converter issue from the way I described the noise and told me to spend the night in Amarillo and find someone to look at it first thing the next day. I read the reviews and decided on this shop. They were so wonderful and got my car right in and told me to wait in the office with my dog. The owner came in after the first gentleman drove the car and told me what he thought and then the owner drove it and put it back on the rack and advised me what he thought. He said the car was good to travel but to look at replacing some small things when I had the time and money. He was a blessing to me and if you are in Amarillo and not using this shop you should strongly consider them. God Bless you Arenas Auto Repair.
My boyfriend and I were traveling through Amarillo on our way up to Wisconsin when we had some car trouble. There was a POOF sound in the engine and we had lost power steering and a strong, loud grinding noise started. It was late Friday night when we made it to our hotel and so I was hoping someone would be available Saturday to look at the car. I called Arenas at 8am Saturday and They explained that they were actually closed on Saturday but they would take a look anyway :D They explained exactly what was wrong and showed me the reason for my problems (broken power steering pump and serpentine pully) They fixed it in 2hrs for a fair price...SO thankful they were willing to work on an off day! The work comes with a great warranty and the guys working on the car were SUPER nice! It was probably the best experience Ive ever had with a mechanic! THANKS GUYS!
Good and fast family owned and run
First time here. Brake job. Owner was nice. Good customer service. Place doesnt smell like your typical car shop.Second time going, was a different experience, someone spilled alot of residue trash on passenger mat and no one even botbered to clean the mess they made! No customer service. Will not return!
They were curtious, proffessional, and very fast. I went in to get spark plugs changed and they did it in about 10 minutes. I will be using them in the future if further auto repair is needed.
Tries to get you In and out.
Very good fast affordable service would be my first choice in the area
Great service, honest pricing
Had a minor problem needed checked out on a Saturday. They got me in, friendly, priced just right.
Great company and very trustworthy crew!
Very good mechanic
Quick and great service
Definitely 5 stars
These guys are thieves, they charged me $1,000 to fix my fuel pump, my car broke down 2 months later again because they are dishonest thieves, dont take your car unless you want to get robbed!!
I did not expect to be treated so quickly and the very attentive man explained the problem that brings the pick up.
