I come here a few times a month. I work in the area but live an hour away . I usually get their crossaints, quiches and market buns. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with anything here. Even the drinks are stellar.
What a wonderful East Port treasure! Beautiful displays, tasty pastries, delicious beverages, and friendly staff. They have adapted well to COVID-19 safety measures: the line has space to spread out on the sidewalk, orders are taken at a counter in the doorway, purchased items are given at the door or through a window, staff are wearing masks. Several small bistro tables and chairs are arranged a relaxing side yard.
Great pastries & coffee drinks. Some outside tables available. Lots of customers on a Sunday morning buying to go or sitting outside enjoying good weather.
There is always a line here for a reason. Fantastic baked goods great selection of breads and sweets. Definitely plan ahead if you are looking to buy something in particular. People line up early and if you wait too long what you want might not be available.
This has to be one of the best bakeries anywhere around DC. The market bun was the best morning bun I have ever eaten. The GameDay cookies were phenomenal. The blueberry bar and ham croissant were also great.
Best bakery in Annapolis! Even though technically its in Eastport.
The line of locals every morning lets you know how good it is. Get one of everything and an extra Almond-Chocolate Croissant.
Wow cannot say enough good things about this place! So glad I stopped by and tried all their goodies. People are right, better almond croissant than i had in Paris.
Check out the pastries in the side window before ordering. Delicious carbs and coffee ;) Can pre-order for the weekend. Only open certain days, but the line is sometimes down the street. Well worth the wait though!
Great fresh baked goods! Be prepared to wait in line. There is out door seating. Right now only open Friday-Sunday. Hopefully, they will open more days soon.
Great find! Super service, delicious pastries. Not a ton of options, but its a small place and they sell out quick. Great coffee drinks too.
Fantastic pastries and great staff! I especially enjoyed how not-too-sweet the sweet pastries were. If you are in Annapolis, it is definitely worth visiting.
Very popular, old Annapolis bakery with lots of fresh sweets. Their market buns were crispy, flaky, not to sweet, with a hint of cinnamon. Delicious. Takeout and outside seating.
Due to covid its a walk up order and eat outside so adorable and food was great1
I hate to frame this review in this way, but it is a good thing this bakery is not open all week. If it were, I’d be there every day for a slice of Ham Quiche and a Market Bun. The quiche is simply the most delicate and delightful we have ever tasted. The Market Bun is also delicious, but it is so good as to be dangerous. I find it is simply addictive. I brought the quiche and bun home and ate the quiche for breakfast. I’m full. But the dang Market Bun is on the kitchen counter calling out to me. Sure, this review says more about my lack of discipline than how amazing Bakers and Co. is, but isn’t that what makes delicious treats so compelling? The inability to resist? In this way, Bakers and Co. nailed it. I surrender. The Market Bun wins.
Melt-in-your-mouth brownies, poppyseed bread, rhubarb-ginger scones, tasty and healthier morning glory muffins... I wish this place was open all week long!
One of the best bakeries Ive been to. After leaving France, this bakery gave us hope for high quality baked goods in the States. Also, the staff is lovely.
Go to place in Annapolis for fresh baked goods. Croissants are amazing - crisp and flaky. Market buns are chewy and soft.
This was the first place I ever had a kouign amann (imagine croissant dough with caramelized sugar in it shaped like a knot.) I liked it so much, I kept coming back, and I tried one at a very famous bakery in Paris. Bakers & Co.s are better. I always stop by when Im in Annapolis. Everything else is also tasty. And the staff is friendly, the bathroom is clean, and they have decent seating!
Two things. One, get the Market Bun, youll thank me later! Two, anything you buy here will taste great! Update: the granola is the best Ive ever tasted. Also, you must have the ham and gruyere croissant, and the salty oats cookies!
Very nice bakery and coffee with limited hours so check before you visit. Theyve set up a checkout station right at the door so its easy to pick up and go without entering the shop. Favorite is their chocolate croissant.
Best croissants Ive ever had, including in Paris. Ive never had a Market Bun anywhere else, but Im pretty sure these are the best in the world.
Bakers & Co. has the best croissants Ive ever had, period, and Ive lived in Paris and more than a few big cities in the US. Buttery, crispy, with light and fluffy interior. Just sensational. And everything else Ive had there is very, very good, including the delicious coffee. I lived on my boat in Annapolis for a few years and would row across Back Creek several mornings a week for breakfast and to buy bread and pastries. Always had a smile on my face tying up to the dinghy dock, even in the rain. :)
Incredible breads and pastries. Local owned locally renowned.
Over rated, overcrowded, and no dining in.
Do yourself a favor and get one of the almond croissants. Its truly a delight. We were planning to heat it in the microwave at home but couldnt stop eating it once we got home.
Havent tried the coffee yet but the pastrys are delicious. One of the best bakerys Ive been to.
Cute place!Small, with limited seating but they do have tables outside. The peach and ginger scone was to die for!! Soft, not hard and crumbly like some can be. My cousin had their carrot muffin and she said it was excellent as well. All our coffees were tasty as well: flat white, iced Americano, iced latte.
Went for pastry this morning after a long walk around town. Got a nice selection. The lemon poppy cake was nice and sweet and went well with coffee. The strawberry rhubarb Ginger scones were also great. Not as sweet as I was expecting but that was the best part. The bread looked very good too.
Absolutely a great locals place--has become an Eastport institution in just a few short years...Hope for the best on the other side of today, tomorrow, and the future.Heres wishing to a quick comeback.
Wonderful little corner bakery with a really good selection for its size! every item they have is delicious -- highly recommend the lemon almond poppy seed tea cake. Id never heard of such a flavour combination, and its opened a new whirl of baking experimenting for me. Their rustico bread has a gorgeous crumb and structure, too. Definitely a must stop every time Im up in Annapolis!
I have never eaten something here I didn’t love with my whole stomach. Once you’ve eaten a market bun, you may never want another pastry again for fear it would disappoint. The drinks, regular coffee and espresso, here are quite good too. Can’t really go a week without a visit and chat at one of the many tables inside or out.
We have been wanting to try this place for awhile. Cute and very cozy- the tea was hot like I like it and the blueberry scone was delicious. The iced coffee a little bitter for my liking but that is a personal preference. My husband got the quiche- it took a long time to get it and once he did the middle was still cold (although tasty). My husband is in the culinary business and said if you invested in a Turbo-chef I-3 you can speed up service and improve food quality. Plus add some breakfast sandwiches to your menu if you like.Again your toaster/convection oven is not equipped for your business model. We will come back - just make better choices.Good luck
A bit expensive, but high quality.
Great place! Wonderful baked goods, great coffee drinks. (I do miss their pastiches though)
This place is heaven on earth! The quiche is first-rate, and the croissants melt in your mouth. Bakers & Company is a small neighborhood establishment, which adds to its charm. I hesitate to send others there because they’ll buy my favorites and leave less for me. By the way, the coffee is excellent, too.
A quaint little coffee and pastry shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Their presentation is beautiful and the atmosphere is quiet and serene. Restrooms are available (ask for the key) and are very clean. We tried their croissants and gingerbread cookies. The gingerbread cookies are enough of a reason to drive there for a second visit! AMAZING!
I have known Chris and Lucy for years at the Riva Rd. Farmers Market where they began. And I have been an enthusiastic customer from the beginning. I cant say enough about their delicious breads, treats and pastries. I go back again and again for my favorites and am always thrilled when I try something new. They consistently exceed by expectations with the quality of their food!
I have had a variety of things here including muffins, croissants and a couple of leaves of bread. Nothing has disappointed me so far. Its very good. The staff is good, and the coffee and s good. Breakfast and lunch times are busy, and it gets a little loud inside; that has been the only real downside for this place.
Taste of Paris. Everyone i know loves this place. Thankful for the owner, she works so hard and puts a lot of love into what she does. Also Emily, she is a great employee, efficient, pleasant, knowledgeable and considerate
I have but one complaint....and thats that the seating is usually full in the mornings. The coffee is very good. The pastries are amazing. I live 45 minutes away yet often drive to Annapolis just to go to Bakers & Co on my day off. I sincerely wish that I was closer, but maybe its good for my wallet and my waistline that Im not.
Wonderful offerings and choices. Very creative and fresh menu. Staff is great at suggestions and explanations. Uses a toaster oven instead of microwave to heat food. Small nut quaint atmosphere.
Everything is always delicious, and the staff is super friendly. A note though, they open at 8am on Sundays. There WILL be a line at the door before they even open, but it is worth the wait.
Outstanding coffee, pastries, and ambiance with terrific staff. I am a visiting sailor from Virginia with a sail boat nearby. I always start my day at Bakers & Company.I love the Cornish pastie that you make. I would love some brown HP sauce to go with this please - to die for, trust me. I used to live in Cornwall. HP sauce has a photo of the Houses of Parliament on the front.Thank you for a wonderful coffee shop.Tony Wells
Was so disappointed after hearing good things. Thought I try this place again. I felt that the young woman behind counter was rude and pretentious. Cherry oat bar was dry as was almond croissant. When I brought this to her attention merely as feedback she made it clear that she was busy and didnt have time to discretely listen.
There is no comparison to the DC bakeries lets start with this. The first time I went there I found the atmosphere very depressive with miserable decoration.I just saw some reviews saying that the croissants are delicious, the best ever etc lol Are you kidding me? The croissants are horrible! I would advice to change the recipe .. and the shape of them its completely unappealing. This is not a croissant period. On the other hand, I do love the staff there, they are so polite and I dont understand why so many negative comments on the customer service side. So I would advice to spend some money to redo the plain horrible and grow the business by hiring a pastry chef or just dont bake classic things like croissants.
Best cookie Ive ever had, and I am a serious cookie snob. So many good kinds, too. You have to try the cookies. The bread was perfect--rustically crisp on the outside and cloud soft in the middle. Melt-in-your-mouth croissant. So fresh, all of it. Very delightfully surprised.
Fantastic market bun, melt in your mouth sweetness. Everything looks equally good. I just had to get a couple other choices to go for later. The cappuccino wasnt my favorite but Ill be back for the baked goods.
This place is the best. We love their scones, blueberry tea, and iced lattes. Everything we have had there has been delicious
Anyone who leaves a negative review is just a miserable unhappy tool...awesome local business with very good treats. The service was excellent and friendly during a busy morning and the filled croissants were amazing. Check it out if nearby.
I had a great first visit. They have decaf espresso and a very good breakfast quiche. This was a good place to meet for a one-on-one business meeting.
Based off of the reviews I was expecting a phenomenal place. If you think ten different options is a lot, you might need to get out a bit more. The coffee tased like dirt, and the almond croissant was average.this place would last a four and a half days in Europe.
You are a fool if you go to Annapolis and do not go to Bakers & Co. The almond croissant is hands down the best youll ever have. Also excellent: lemon poppy seed cake, market buns, morning glory muffin, the cookies. I even liked the apple scone, which until Bakers & Co has never tasted like anything more than a crumbly gluten rock. That being said, this place is definitely expensive and Im definitely cheap. But its one of the few places where you actually get your moneys worth. Just get here early if you want to try multiple goodies, they run out quickly.
Understand that this bakery may do other things well, which arent being reviewed here.My friends and I split two muffins and a scone, and one person decided on some tea. Regardless of the interesting and unique flavor combinations touted, they came off as dry and bland, especially in the case of the crumbling scone. My friend commented that the tea was definitely unsatisfying. The location has limited seating indoors and overall the bakery had few to any goods on display/for sale. Im not one needing a huge case of baked goods to pick and choose from, but if youre marketing as a bakery, Id certainly expect some more content to your character.
Its so hard to decide among the delicious offerings. My favorites are the scones, quiche, chocolate almond croissant, and market bun. The baristas make the best London Fog around. A true gem!
Stopped by on a late Sunday morning for some coffee & pastries, and the place was buzzing.Get the market bun. You wont be disappointed. It seemed to be the most ordered item, so I tried it and am now addicted. Its a cross between a croissant + doughnut + cinnamon roll. The vibe is that of a quaint, laid back, neighborhood coffee shop. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Clean bathroom.
This bakery is superb! The best french pastry in Maryland, maybe anywhere outside France. Good consistency. Love it!
The croissants are to die for! Friendly staff too. They sell a variety of baked goods such as whole loafs of multi grain breads, foccasia, crossaints, muffins and quiche. They also had a really good cherry almond crumble bar which was just right. Their mocha was not bad either. I saw a guy order coffee which came in a really big mug for dine in which to me seems super. I saw one of the shop keepers prepare espresso too so thats awesome. Will definitely come back for more!
Delicious split pea soup, good selection of tea and baked goods. Kind, courteous service. Not the most comfortable seats but great for a quick delicious bite on a cold day.
The best almond croissant! And you have to get a morning bun there, its like a buttery cinnamon croissant.
Delicious pastries, especially their market buns.
One of the better places in Annapolis as far as quality goes. Amazing Bakery! I suggest the Lemon Poppy Almond Cake.
Great bakery with good coffee drinks! Dog friendly
Best almond croissant
The coffee was great and pastries were tasty.
The croissants here are unreal! Great coffee and atmosphere, too. Highly recommended if you’re walking around Annapolis or Eastport!
Good coffee/baked goods. Limited seating, so you should take your stuff to go in the mornings. Not a place to get lost in a book or be on your laptop, but good for a quick meet with a friend.
Stopped in on way thru town, great place to stop for morning sweets. Will be back next time in the area.
Awesome neighborhood bakery. Highly recommend a stop. Picked up pastries for breakfast on a stairway and left impressed. They serve great coffee too.
Not vegan friendly. I wasnt a fan of their latte... If you like it better, you will probably like it.
Great coffee and pastry (sweet and savory) in #Eastport. I highly recommend it!
Very nice bakery! Delicious savory and sweet pastries. Very cute and cozy place
Great baristas. Amazing croissants and other baked goods, whatever coffee drink you want they can make it. A must try if youre in the area.
The BEST bread in town, or any town. You must try the almond croissant! Heaven!
Amazing pastries and foods that are hard to find outside of France. Excellent croissants and good coffee. Highly recommended!
Ill have One of each.Words are happily varied, unnecessary.✌️💜
Arguably, the best pound cake I have ever had. A visit to Annapolis is incomplete without a stop at Bakers & Co. Do yourself a favor and get there early when the selection is best.
We first discovered their delicious products at the farmers market and then went to the store the next day to pick up some more wonderful croissants and baguettes!
Awesome croissants. Just awesome.
I frequent this neighborhood bakery often because its a great spot to spend some time in the morning enjoying a croissant, a big mug of coffee, and a book. Its locally owned and the staff are wonderful and also very knowledgeable.
The butter croissants are the best Ive had outside of France. I have to admit Ive never ordered anything else; I never can bring myself to pass up an opportunity for another croissant.
Amazing artichoke and goat cheese croissant. I could taste the butter. The Americano was fab as well. Ill be back!
Coffee was great, bread even better. It was a little crowded...but well definitely be back for breakfast pastries!
Market buns, lemon poppy seed bread and yum coffee drinks.
Terrific market rolls, and delicious traditional style baked goods.
Walked in off of local recommendation and he was soooo right about the almond croissant. I want to try all of the baked goods now. Pretty good idea latte, too.
Good selction of baked food coffee and more
Authentic European style bakery with ndoor and outdoor table seating. Great coffee and tea. Soups for lunch. Very popular with locals. Free wifi.
Got there too late to see all of their offerings, but what we got was good
Awesome local bakery and coffee shop. Highly recommend.
This is just about my favorite bakery ever with the exception of one I frequented in France. Everything is exceptional: pastries, breads, soup, coffee.
