Good coffee. My son had a soccer game at the boys and girls club of Annapolis. Walked up here to get a ice coffee with mocha. Nice place to sit and have a coffee at the outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is covered with high tarps. Keeps the sun off you. The day I visited they had a coffee dog that would walk up to you to say hi for a quick back scratch. Will be back.
The real deal for high end yet down to earth coffee. The roasting is literally happening behind the counter within sight. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to make recommendations. Know that you’re going to a factory - the machinery can get loud, but that authenticity should be part of the reason you’re going.
Delicious pour over coffee. Very friendly staff. Cool place!
Delicious coffee and wonderful atmosphere. Such a neat little spot. Love that there is parking conveniently located at the roasters. Some seating is available for working. There are outlets available to use at the seats to the right of the entrance. Theres also outdoor seating.
Great coffee, friendly service.I recommend getting a pour over or one of their seasonal drinks. They put a lot of effort and pride into them, both the roasting and brewing - so the coffee shines.Occasionally they’ll offer iced pour overs. Ask for it and if they do, get an iced pour over with a fruitier roast. You’ll be impressed. This goes for all coffee roasters.I’ve purchased their beans from Whole Foods and thought they weren’t that great, but it’s cause the bags sold there aren’t as fresh. The coffee they serve in their own shop is FRESH.
Delicious coffee, cute outdoor seating. Sadly, it overlooks the parking lot (but that’s pretty standard in this area). Enjoyed my vegan chocolate chip cookie with my iced decaf almond milk latte next to a couple with a dog; so it is dog-friendly here, too.
I love this coffee shop, especially since it’s walking distance for me. My favorite drink (so far) was the Citrus shaker special. So tasty!
Now my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. I had driven here before not realizing that you can access it walking via McGuckian street or russell via car. They do have a couple spots for parking Id you drive coming from russell ave, but I highly recommend walking. Theres a lovely setup outside for sitting while you wait or to enjoy the weather when its nice. They also have a menu posted on their window wall so you can decide what you want before entering.Pre COVID you can enter and order at the counter, but depending on the day they have a table right by the door for ordering so youre not entering all the way. This also prevents any waiting inside for the coffee. They have a shelf for contactless pickup and online orders as well as hand sanitizer. You are allowed the bring your dog in for ordering and the wait time is usually no more than 7 minutes. There are pastry and granola/hot oats options for food, but if youre going on a weekend I recommend ordering online for pickup. Home delivery is also an option when ordering at least $100 but its a great alternative if you miss the coffee shop experience but want to quarantine. If youre in the neighborhood, take a stroll and get a cup of joe!
Really good vibe with a friendly down to earth staff. Dog friendly atmosphere and smooth coffee with lots of great rich flavors. I like their selection and great customer service.
A very cute and trendy but grounded cafe serving coffee and other drinks. The espresso latte and chai latte were strong but thats a good thing in my book. Nice place to sit in the shade and enjoy your drink.
Vietnamese coffee not authentic but glad its not too sweet. Small and nothing interesting to see. Staff nice. Good outside area.
Great coffee, friendly staff. Had a hot fireside latte on the baristas recommendation and it was great.
I work at a coffee shop that uses Ceremony coffee and it has re-ignited my passion for coffee! They know coffee here and strive to bring their patrons and customers the best coffees from around the world. It was a great experience visiting the roastery and seeing all of the science that goes behind a good cup of coffee!! The industrial feel of the shop was paired with homey decor and I could see myself getting lots of work done there in a day! When the weather warmed up they opened the large garage door in the front and let all of that natural light and warmth in! It was magic!
A bit tucked away but once you know its there its hard to not return. Staff are friendly and responsive and thanks to the smaller feel if this location? Youre often remembered! Always nice to have a place like that you know? Coffee is always tasty and a welcome boost to any day :D
Wonderful coffee shop and roaster with a wide selection of unique roasts and helpful workshops. The trend of upscale roasters offering workshops is exciting and it’s very cool to see several offered by Ceremony. I really enjoyed their Guatemala Los Piños pour over. This cafe is featured in “Where to Drink Coffee” (pictured) and I can certainly see why! I highly recommend stopping by to see and taste for yourself.
I just had an amazing Ethiopian pour over and I say had a delicious Americano. The beans are roasted fresh on site, and an added bonus is that the smoke from the Roastery keep the mosquitoes away from the outside seating
Secret back street coffeehouse mecca. Excellent vanilla chai tea. I always slide by and pick up roasted beans for girlfriend and a special drink to go. Better than bringing home flowers EVERY TIME ;) guys give it a try.
If you havent stopped here for some of the best coffee in Annapolis, you are truly missing out. This coffee is so delicious, make the stop, your taste buds will thank you.
Having spent the last 8 years in New York City, one of America’s coffee meccas, Ceremony is THE coffee shop I visit for my NYC-standard latte. Their specialty drinks are quite good too, and never too sweet. Seating is limited but usually don’t have a problem getting one, especially when it’s warm enough to sit outside.
I make it a point to stop in when I’m in town. They do an excellent job with their beans and the drinks they craft in house are top tier. Staff is very friendly!
Best overall coffee in the area, and their nitro cold brew is amazing. Friendly and professional staff as well.
Best coffee Ive ever had. Its certainly the best in the area. Coffee you can drink black, no cream or sugar needed. In fact, it would be an insult to the beans. If you love coffee, you wont be disappointed.
My favorite roaster! If you get a chance to visit in person, you really should because its a great experience. However, if you cant make a physical visit, the coffee they have available to ship to your door is incredible and as fresh as it gets.
The coffee here is not regular coffee, this drink is a treat, so awesome!
Great hole in the wall with a pleasant outdoor seating area. The crew is always very friendly and will talk you through anything new. Always a wonderful experience.
Cool location and decor, friendly and fast service. The coffee is delicious and you can buy beans if you like. This is their main roasting site. The nitro cold brew in a can is over priced and not actually nitro, I won’t buy that again. The cortado was excellent. It has a reasonable amount of seating and is quiet enough for studying, work, or a meeting. This is a local chain so check out the other locations as well. Pricing is on par with or slightly higher than Starbucks/Pete’s, but it’s worth it.
Im partial to espresso drinks. Their cortado is so smooth. This place is favorite in the area.
I absolutely love this coffee shop. It is worth the 3 hour drive every time. Antithesis is my favorite roast, and plus the name is fun. The atmosphere, staff, and coffee are always super inviting and lovely.
Good stuff. Pleasant staff and cozy location.
The coffee is good, the store setting is cool, but one of the baristas needs to work on his customer service skills, he was not friendly at all
Hard to find, and the parking is tight, but the coffe is good and definitely worth a visit. We will be back. Its probably an amazing place when dining is allowed.
Best coffee in Annapolis. No contest.
In town from Seattle, and this fantastic coffee shop tucked away off west st is a hidden gem. Their roast is similar to Seattles Herkimer (one of the top roasters in coffee town), the cappuccino I ordered was excellently made (sized smaller to let the coffee come through the milk), and the ambiance of their shop is great. Only criticism I could make is that the pastries were pretty average. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone who values good coffee, wants a cool place to hang out, or needs some home brewing gear (they have an excellent selection of brewing equipment).
Nice family owned coffee shop. Beats the chain coffee shops in customer service and quality!
I love Ceremony! They have the best selection of coffees! I recommend getting a pour-over! This is the roastery location, so they always have the freshest coffee!
Great coffee and nice people!
Good coffee and polite staff.
The coffees a little expensive its not Starbucks
Came here for breakfast because of the pictures and it was worth it. Parking is scares but there is a lot behind the shopping center. The cashier was really nice and he was very helpful. The lattes : strong, creamy, and not to sweet so they paired great with the muffin and cheesecake.
Amazing coffee, staff, and roastery. I always try to swing by this location when Im in Annapolis.
This coffee is a step above the rest. Support this local business!
Delicious coffee and friendly people. Even this time of social quarantine it was a good place to take a few moments off at.
Fantastic coffee, my every morning start with this coffee. Thank you for great service.
I visited Ceremony on a whim after hearing about it a few months ago. As with most coffee places, I like to try their espresso. The espresso was very tasty and everything I expect and love in espresso. I also tried their featured coffee of the day. It was full flavored and had a great mouth feel. The decor in this location is very current with industrial styling. They also roast coffee at this location. You can visit the roasting area to see where all the magic happens. This particular location is kind of off the beaten path but Google maps is a big help and will not lead you astray.
When Ceremony opened a location within walking distance, my heart grew three sizes. The location in Mt Vernon had me making a journey up there once in a while. The coffee is great, and the coffee drinks are great as well. Service is always extremely friendly and helpful. Ive not had the food, but Ive been able to discern via an eavesdrop or two that its good.
Very cool ambiance! I recommend checking out this place if you are visiting the Mission District - which is my favorite hood in SF (check out the park).
Coffee quality Ok for the price, but customer service is the worse. Coucasian female attendant was plain rude from the start. Just for a plain regular coffee with basic labor, she delivered with plenty of attitude. Wont be back since its no way for me to know when this person works or not.
I always enjoy the coffee and creative espresso drinks, but what sets this location apart is the friendliness and affability of the staff. They take the time to make personalized recommendations and engage in pleasant chats, all without holding up the line. That is a hard-earned skill, and one that I appreciate!!! Another huge plus for me are the large shady trees surrounding the parking and outdoor seating area. Its a rarity in hip city coffee shops, and creates a nice contrast with the industrial roastery inside. Yep, I love this spot.
This place smells delicious, and it tastes the same. I dont regret any of my impulse buys there in terms of gear. The beans they roast opened me up to light roasts. I used to be purely about the dark. I do still love their Antithesis beans, which are a dark roast lovers fantasy. Their lighter offerings deliver delicious cold brews. The descriptions of aromatics and flavors on their labels threw me off at first, but they are accurate and - often surprisingly - delicious, like orange gummy bear. I never knew Id want that in a coffee, but so it goes.
Great shop. Their pour over was perfectly balance. Great extraction and their single origin espresso (Ethiopia as well), was super flavorful. The staff was super friendly and engaging.
Chill environment. Good for coffee on the go or a meet up with friends or coworkers. Only thing better than the staff’s polite attitudes and helpful nature is the absolutely spot-on product ranging from perfectly roasted beans to strainers and other brewing items.
I get Ceremony coffee from the grocery store all the time for my espresso. They have a few really good varieties: mass appeal, thesis, antithesis, and destroyer. It is usually roasted within about a week of when I buy it which is the best of any coffee around at the grocery store. It was fun going to see the main roastery. They had several espresso-based summer cocktails, which were okay. The shot of espresso was good+ but not great.
Im a coffee snob - i order fresh beans from a few roasters around the country. These guys rank up there with the best of them! Glad to have a local biz doing such a great job. Nice cafe, too. Try a single origin pour over
My favorite coffee shop in Annapolis. Friendly staff and a really cool atmosphere. Great place to get some work done or catch up with friends. Also, their spiced chai is absolutely phenomenal if you like that kind of thing.
If you are a black coffee connoisseur then this place is for you. That being said- if you like Starbucks for its vast options, flavors and occasional dessert in a drink (like the frappachino) - this place is not for you. They also are limited in pastries and or snacks. Its a nice place, but limited in its options. My husband likes the espresso blend.
Ceremony roasts some really delicious coffee. Up there with some of my favorite roasters across the US. The Cafe here is small but the folks who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they are roasting.
This coffee house is worth the drive through the West St. traffic and negotiating a parking spot in the smallish lot. They offer some of the best coffee youll find in the Annapolis areas with healthy food and snack options although they dont offer a large menu so dont come too hungry. The only drawback is that there is limited seating so if you plan to relax and enjoy some great coffee with friends you may find yourself waiting a bit for a seat.
In a little commercial park behind a big building sporting Big Screen Store, youll find Ceremony Coffee Roasters. It sports a wide selection of whole bean coffee as well as delicious coffee beverages made to order and a case of tempting pastries. The store also holds a variety of expert quality coffee-making tools and gadgets so you can create your own perfect cup of coffee. Indoor seating is limited and industrial, but there are seating options outside when the weather gets warmer.
Perfectly made seasonal latte, unfortunately I drank it too greedily to catch a good photo! Bought some delicious beans for home as well, and eager to get back for more when we need to restock!
A quiet little gem with expertly crafted hot + cold coffee concoctions and a smattering of snacks. I love the laid-back vibe here, a great spot to bring some work or reading material and crack in to it.
Great service!
Always solid coffee and lattes!
Best fresh roasted beans.
This place is great. There is usually a small group of Johnies here. The coffee is exotic and fantastic. They do all sorts of different brewing methods like pour over, cold press, french press and the occasional vacuum press.
I just got a cup of decaf Columbia coffee here. I think it is the most delicious cup of decaf Ive ever had. The Rwandan I got last time was great, too, but a place that can make decaf this good deserves some love.
I have been to three locations and I have been happy with my beverages and service every single time. Thanks!
Had an amazing pour over style coffee. Would definitely hit this place up the next time I pass through the area.
I went to ceremony after one of my finals. I was the first time I had been to the roastery so I wasn’t sure what to get. The barista there suggested the nutcracker. He was very nice and helpful! (Super good looking too) the drink I got was the best coffee I’ve ever had! Ceremony is a great place to chill, relax, study, and hang out with Friends!
Really cool place a bit hidden from the main road. Tried the nitro cold brew and their daily pour over batch. Both had a light fruity flavor. They claimed that a lot of their batches had citrus in the brews.
I am wary of overly fancy/hip coffee shops. I have been too often disappointed. Not at all here! Ive just enjoyed one of the best espresso shots of recent memory. I dont make my own shots so well, and I run a cafe with decent equipment and beans. Thats kinda frustrating.
Ive been here exactly once. The woman that rang my wife and I up wasnt necessarily rude, but she certainly wasnt friendly either. We both ordered iced coffees which were weirdly fruity (not in a good way). This store has horrible hours. I drove down to Annapolis after work one day and got to the store at 4:30. Closed. I didnt even think to check their hours because I figured a coffee shop would be open at least until 7 or 8. Why would this store only be open DURING work hours? Weekend hours are even worse than weekdays.
Excellent Coffee and Espresso Drinks. This is a top-quality place with Cappuccino and Latte that would fit well in the best parts of Italy. Well done.
Really love it -- it is part if the coffee roasting plant. Feels clean and modern with some industrial flair. The staff is friendly and the roasting staff is right there taking coffee very seriously.I see they beans often in some of the best local food stores in DC. Is a I treat to have a cup at their plans while making use if their very fast wifi.
Ceremony is one of my favorite spots to stop at in Annapolis. This location is their main roastery. Its in a converted post office depot (if I remember correctly) so the main entrance has large sliding garage-style doors that they open up when the weather is nice. The combo of an on-site roastery (that you can look into), open air, and the availability of our pour over coffee makes this a great place to sit and relax. Not to mention the helpful and knowledgeable staff that are on-site! If you have any coffee questions they definitely have the answers
This is a good place to come by for some excellent coffee or to see the roastery. I tend to prefer their seasonal drink specials which have interesting twists using their different blends of espresso. One of the standard menu items that I prefer would be the white shakerato. A must try! The only downside to this space is the size and lack of food options. If you want those you have ton stop by their cafe just down the street.
This place has the best quality coffee Ive ever had. I go for the espresso. The pastries are so-so but coffee is the best.
Was able to study here comfortably. Would love to see more food options
Good coffee, tasty pastries, relaxing atmosphere. Nice place to meet up with a friend. They make a delicious mocha.
Excellent service. They take time to make sure that they brew the perfect cup. Fresh pastries.
I’m a huge Ceremony fan. The environment here is very peaceful and relaxing. Although no one laughed at my puns.
A great place to experience the atmosphere of a roastary. The roastary versus the store location has a great espresso bar selection and excellently roasted beans along with it. Its my usual place to spend time doing work and focusing!
This isnt a Starbucks-esque shop, and I dont just mean that in the manner of it being a local place. If your favorite drink is a iced mocha-frappe, this place probably isnt for you.If you want a real latte or a good shot of espresso, this place is for you.Semi-inconvenient hours, but easily the best latte Ive had in Maryland.
Coffee is good customer service could be better- internet speeds are wicked fast, fasted Ive ever seen in a coffee shop!
Hit and miss. Overall coffee is great. Menu ever changing at least from the employee perspective. One day, Flat White is acceptable. Next week, I get chastised for ordering one. We dont call it that. When I asked what should I call it, I get Latte. So I ask for one and get a tub of milk with some espresso and not the little cup that WAS an easy order.Top it off, brought someone from another office and the coffee was great, the snotty attitude of the barristas? Could have done without. Makes Starbucks look like the nicest people on the planet. You guys make and serve coffee, try and act like it.
Excellent local coffee shop. Roasted on site in a cool re-used warehouse space. Very unique for Annapolis.
Best roasters in M.D. in my opinion, about the only place youre going to get an actual light roast. The cafe itself is pretty nice, lots of parking and a nice selection of coffee gear for sale inside. They are not going to make you all the fancy drinks ( frappuccinos) like a starbucks though this is for people who actually like the taste of the coffee itself.
Great friendly service and quality coffee tucked away from the masses. A very good experience on my trip and I went back three times.
Really cute coffee shop off the beaten track. Coffee is excellent and nice to support local business!
Best, freshest coffee in town. Love the coffee here.
Neat little coffee shop with a great outdoor patio for enjoying a latte when the weather is nice. Notably odd hours but definitely worth a visit because the coffee is perfection.
Great mixtures of coffee and other beverages. See my 360 pics for more.Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
Coffee as good as advertised, easily tops in city. Engaged staff with clear passion for brew. Coffeehouse ambience well-preserved.
They roast the coffee... Of course its good, good selection of coffees. Looks like a refurbished industria or garagel site. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Awesome staff, convenient app, best coffee in town... If youll spring for it.
