Wife and I were on a RV road trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed in Asheville, NC for Tuesday night. Next morning when we just got on road heading home in Atlanta, GA, our F-150 quit on us. The engine shut down and wouldnt restart. I tried several repair shops and was told that they all severely backed up and would not be able to help us for several days to a week. Then wife found Cox Auto Service. Ray agreed to take a look on the same day or next. He even allowed us to park our camper next to his shop. On the same day, hes people found out that the fuse of the fuel pump was melted, apparently a rather common problem or design flaw for 2009-2014 f-150s. He ordered a Ford relocation kit and fixed our truck by noon on the following day, so we were able to get home on the same day. All in all, we were only delayed by one day thanks to Ford.

If the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Went for cv axles, car was making noise after service. They insisted it was my brakes, however it was only making this noise after they touched my car. Went down to another service shop, told me their work was choppy. Now I have to pay to get it fixed again. Definitely not happy

They will take money from you, but with some good return. I changed my alternator. Then when I was leaving Asheville, I was again getting blinking battery light. They again changed and installed new alternator. I appreciate their patience and professionalism. Really a good place.

I needed a set of tires and to get my check engine light checked. I was able to get everything done here quickly and at an affordable price. I always hate going to a garage I dont know because I am a woman and fear being taken advantage of price wise. Coxs owner/manager was polite, did not try to sell me on any extra repairs and made what could have been a very stressful situation easy. I highly recommend this business!

We were on a cross-country military move in early December. I had no intention of stopping in Asheville for more time than it took to fill up our vehicles with fuel. My son’s 2006 Honda Civic however, had other plans. As soon as we stopped, the engine started making intermittent, loud tapping noises. It was clear we weren’t headed any closer to the west coast that evening. We found a place for the night and called Cox Auto (randomly found them on Google ) in the morning. I explained my plight and Ray (works at the counter) said he could fit me in to take a look before lunch. He and his outstanding team quickly diagnosed the issue down to a faulty belt tensioner - which had also started to damage the belt. They repaired / replaced the faulty issues the same day and had us safety back on the road. He even test drove it himself just be sure! You don’t find that level of ownership and pride in one’s work that often any more.Following the repairs we were back on the road and made it through two snow storms and another 2,500 miles without a single peep from the car. I can’t thank him and his team enough! Outstanding work and even better service! If our paths ever cross again, the beers are on me! Thank you!

I moved here from Georgia and had a mechanic brother so I was skeptical about going to a new mechanic. I am THRILLED with Cox. Incredible staff, they are honest about what actually needs done, they have very fair prices for their service/labor, and have things done in a timely manner. I have used Cox auto for 3 of my vehicles and have recommended friends to go there as well. I recently got a used car and had Cox give it an overall checkup and fix a few things. A week or so later was the first time I used the heater and noticed it wasnt blowing hot air. They looked at it and flushed the heater core. When I went to pick it up Ray said I was a good customer and didnt charge me for this service. This is not the first time they had a vehicle and either didnt charge me or charged very little when they could have taken advantage. I believe they are the most honest auto shop in town and am lucky to have found them.

I recently obtained a car from someone I know who had taken the car to Cox Auto for a repair related to the check engine light the week before he got a new car. He kept the car a while before deciding to let me get it. During this time, the check engine light came back on. But, he told me that the work was guaranteed (at Cox) so that should be no problem. He went to Auto Zone and had the codes read/cleared and gave me the report. He never gave me the receipt for the work done through Cox, and when I asked him for it, it was apparent that he had lost it. So, we had some trouble pin-pointing the repair through Cox because they needed an exact date of service to find the work, during which time, the owner, I believe, of Cox, Ray, or who seems to be in-charge, and myself got off on the wrong foot. He had started out by over-explaining car/car-repair basics to me on the phone, which certainly didnt sit well with me. I have a greater background in automobiles than would meet the eye, and I come from a family of mechanics. As a result, I was less receptive in my manner to him, at first. However, I like being surprised about people in positive ways, and I prefer not to promote ongoing conflict. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised that he did investigate the problem from the second appearance of the check engine light and discover what seems to be the problem, the vacuum switching valve. He ended up not charging me for their investigation that day, even though the issue was not the same exact issue that they had fixed. The problem was coming from the same system, the evaporative system, which was related to the first check engine light, as they had replaced the evaporative canister. So, although we had some difficulties in the beginning between us, I am grateful for this shops efforts and assistance. Currently, they are pricing the repair for me--and I expect to have them complete it, even though I have another mechanic in the area that Ive had very good service from for years and am loyal. However, in this case, I would like to give these other guys a good shot, since he has shown some respectable business practices overall thus far.

Was up in asheville for vacation with my family and my ABS light came on. We called several different places who just brushed us off and told us it would take a week to hook it up to the scanner. This place immediately said to bring it in and they would help. Brought our car straight there and they hooked it up and told us what it was wrong within only 10 minutes of first calling them. I really like this company. My daughter, traveling through the area, managed to put her car into a ditch during a rainstorm late at night. I had the car towed to Cox and called them the next morning. Ray identified the problem and gave me a very fair price, even identifying which parts could safely be replaced with used parts, helping to keep the price down. In relatively short order, my daughter was back on the road. I highly recommend these folks.

They helped my car get back on the road. I think I spent about $2500 in one month and yet my car was back in the shop. I dropped it of at 8:30 am. I asked to find out why my check engine light came on. I didnt hear from them all day. I called around 2pm to get an update and without asking my permission they had fixed the problem. Almost $300 later. Not cool. The part was like a $40 part. I will never be back. They gouge people.

I called to schedule an appointment and they were able to work on my car the following day. Oil/filter change with top up of fluids and tire rotation and pressure check. Their service was fast & friendly with professionalism.
