This is the best moving experience I have EVER had, bar none! I have moved 13 times, across 7 states, and I have never worked with such amazing people who made renting a truck so easy! I rented 3 trucks on separate occasions with this Penske on Sardis Rd. and I was so impressed with their professionalism, kindness, support, flexibility, and customer care! They made everything so easy and I am super grateful. Literally NOTHING was difficult about this process with them - not even when I need another truck at the last minute - they are so accommodating and have a great staff. NEVER rent from anyone else!

Easy check out & check in. Twice as expensive as Budget & Uhaul, but worth every penny. Unlike the other two, Penske GUARANTEED me the style of vehicle I needed & that was worth every penny I paid extra for this trip, which required very specific dimensions for the load to prevent shifting and damaging of the antiques, which were also fragile and so couldnt be tied to the rails. Great vehicle.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Staff was very friendly, pickup of the trailer was extremely efficient. Trailer was very clean and has recently been serviced. The location I rented the truck from did not have the car hauler I needed in stock, but found one for me to pickup at this location, on the way to my destination just a few miles off the highway. One of the best truck and trailer rental experiences I have ever had. Would highly recommend Penske, and definitely recommend this location in Asheville, NC if you need to rent in this area!

We had a very good rental. My husband showed up to Uhaul and they did not have a truck for our reservation. We called Penske and they were able to find a truck for us. It was a little more expensive, but I think it was worth it. It was clean and the young man who helped us was very nice. My husband got one with a platform on the back and the young man who helped us shows him how to use it. We will rent again for our next move, although we hope to not have to move again any time soon.

Very dissatisfied, I am moving from NC to PA. Roughly a 13 hour drive. About an hour and a half into my drive I am sitting here at a gas station and my truck is not running. Apparently the truck didnt have any DEF fuel in it. I called roadside assistance to inform them. They sent someone to fill up 5 gallons. This took 2 and a half hours for their arrival. After he fills what he was paid to provide the dash light error continues. He then plugs in a device to the truck and says it need a regeneration. He said this will take a minimum of a half hour. My initial call to the road side assistance department was at 2:30 in the morning. It is now 6:00 AM and I am just now getting back on the road. Make sure your truck is fully serviced before you leave.

The quickest and best service at any of the Penske shops I have ever used! Technician was thorough, communicated well, performed the original repair and all of the recall items and even washed the truck after. Definitely recommend!

Used to have very great service, but seems they’ve had an odd staff change. Now, all their employees seem to talk poorly of management. Service has dramatically changed. Very disappointing.

Warning- Penske will rip you off! They are happy to sell you insurance that does not cover the whole truck, and not notify you. I just paid $3k for a corner cap damage issue, from a tree right outside of Penske. No customer service dept exists in Penske, so no recourse if you get screwed too.

The only suggestion Id give is for them to put up a sign, the entrance sneaks up on you pretty quick when youre not exactly sure where they are. Otherwise, not a complaint to be had.. dropped off my 1 way rental, pulled my truck off the car carrier and was on my way home in less than 5 minutes.

Did not have the truck I reserved on the day I needed it. I was called just 2 hours before time to pick up my truck. I was closing on my house early the next day, and was left with nothing to move in. I needed a 26 foot truck, they claimed it had to go out to on a 24/7 roadside assistance call. All they could offer me was a 22 (or 24) foot truck, which was not what I needed. Do you know the panic of trying to find another truck on a Sunday, with less than 24 hours to be out of your house? I asked the manager what he would do in my situation, he said I would be forced to take the smaller truck. Seriously? I should feel forced to take a truck that wont meet my needs because you dont know how to run a business and have enough trucks on hand to meet your reservations and take care of your 24/7 assistance calls? I chose Penske over the other brands because I had always heard they were top notch, and I felt they would be the most reliable. Turns out I was wrong! If I could rate this negative 5 stars, I would. If you need a reliable company, and a truck to be ready for your well planned and executed move, look elsewhere.

The reservation process was easy and they were patient with me as I changed my truck reservation 3 times. Joe was very friendly and ended up giving me a bigger discount than I had expected. Plus much cheaper than uhaul would have been!

Gotta give it to this place for being fast and helpful, and going the extra mile. I mean not sure how competitive the rate was, but I got set up in hours and they even waited for my driver to get the truck and re-power the load.THAT WAS MY REVIEW AT THE TIMEThey ask a 5000 Certified check to be dropped for the duration of the Rent. I have been trying to get it back for 2 months now, 7 months after the truck was returned. And after return of the truck there were close to a 1000$ of back charges .Do not make the mistake to rush into Renting a truck from that place.

Ehhhh, its a Penske in a pinch. However within a day they responded to my mediocre review.. this place gives a hoot about their business, and will genuinely do what is within their ability to satisfy any issue. Thanks for doing honest business.

I own several retail and furniture stores around Asheville NC. I began using this Penske location for commercial truck rentals in 2009. The service was terrific until a couple of years ago when the front desk employees were promoted and new clerks were brought in. I immediately lost my commercial discount rates, could no longer pick up the trucks early in the AM, and was consistently treated rudely and with total disrespect. So I left and moved my business to Budget Truck Rentals. A few weeks ago, I decided to give Penske another chance by renting a 26 truck each week. Still no commercial rate and no early pickups, but it wasnt bad. After today, they have lost my business permanently. Friday, I called to reserve a 26 truck that I needed for early Monday morning, a one day rental. The clerk, Austin, recommended that I come in Sunday (today) to pick up the keys so that I would not have to pay for additional days and I could still leave early enough Monday. I paid for an employees time to go over to Penske to do the paperwork and get the keys (not the truck, and they have MANY 26 trucks sitting there unrented). Todays front desk clerk rudely demanded to charge my card $528 for two days (I was being charged for today just because of their limited business hours), was a smart a** because my debit card has a $500 transaction limit, then told me to go to Budget Truck Rental. So I will. I wasted money today and my schedule will be messed up all week, but my business will go to where it is appreciated.

Pretty poor experience. They didnt have the truck I asked for, then asked me to go pick up a larger truck at a completely different location. Ended up giving me a 26 foot truck instead of 12. I could barely drive the thing, so I took it to another location, where they were baffled how this happened.The truck was in fine condition, but the service experience was awful.

The guy at the counter was great and even called a cab for me as soon as I got there. Zero headache dropping the truck back off at that location. And signs where clear for exit and enter. Only thing was no signs for where to drop it off so I just parked it inside the gate and went into the office. With the trucks make sure you take it for a drive before you load it up. I picked mine up in NH and drove to NC with it pulling to the right the WHOLE 950 miles. But that was NH not these guys.

I have always used Penske rental trucks over the years and the trucks are always clean and well maintained. Their customer service representatives are always helpful and have always answered any questions that may arise.

Way to go. Truck is to drive. I would recommend it. Its easy to set up too. Go for it.

Super nice and helpful. Edit- I read the bill wrong... I was tired after moving😁 I was charged properly. I would like to share my moms story from a few years back (which is a big reason why I only rent Penske). She was moving from NC to NM and had rented a penske with her car in tow behind her. They stopped in TN for their first night and during the night someone broke into the truck and tried to pop the ignition. She called Penske first thing in the morning they brought her a new truck, and repacked it for her. On top of that, bc they lost almost a whole days drive they reimbursed her for their next night in a hotel 💚 Penske has always been great!

So far 5 weeks in a row Penske has double billed me on my lease. I had enterprise truck rental for 14 months because Penske has billing issues, how could I have forgotten how dubious Penske was then and still is today. It’s not an accident if it happens every week!I have to cancel all cards associated with this company and get a card that does no more than 300 at a time just to control whoever is doing this.

This yard is a little hard to get in and out of usually there are a lot of trailers and trucks parked in the back and its tight to get around the guys in the shop are always quick to help and have always got me out the door ASAP.

I accidentally hit the wrong rating for this location at first (one star). I honestly thought I was reviewing the one close to home. My apologies, I corrected it.
