2nd time Sister rented, was accused of not returning fuel to proper level, how do u only drive 43 miles and burn a quarter of a tank AJ said we must have left it running.. who in there right mind would leave a truck running at gas over $$3.00 per gallon not to mention Carbon dioxide poison.. anyone moving is trying to catch their breath so AJ you need to learn customer service..and to think at not scam people..

This UHaul location saved our vacation!Our rental car reservation was cancelled last minute by the company, so we were unexpectedly left with no transportation. We decided to go to UHaul, as it was the only remaining place we could think of.The staff was incredibly helpful and was able to get us a vehicle that same day. Without them, we would have been stranded in our hotel or counting on the unreliable Uber’s and Lyfts in the area.Renting a Uhaul 10ft truck for our vacation will certainly be a story we tell for ages.Thank you UHaul!

Ive got days and days of call logs for this location and swananoa river rd location with hours of back to back calls and no answers and I have questions about supplies something the dispatch cant tell you any time I get there I have to walk around and find an employee they are supposed to open at 7 showed up at 7 to get my supplies and no one is there! Completely closed door says open at 7 phones say they open at 7 but the young iids that work there get there when ever they want do what they want and then leave early and go hang out with there mom or grandma that works at the swananoa river rd location in uniform at the other locations just sitting on stacks of boxes with no mask on if I had the option of not dealing with these 2 locations I would Im a heart beat

They installed a hitch incorrectly so that it was rubbing against the muffler. We had to take it to a mechanic to have it removed. Now we cant get in touch with an actual human to get a refund or have any sort of resolution. Will never use uhaul again.

Rana Strivelli did an EXCELLENT job when we rented out UBox. Due to COVID, we rented it for 9-months and it worked perfectly for us reorganizing our home as extra space. Very disappointing and a waste of my time. I scheduled a tow hitch install 2 weeks in advanced. I came for my appointment (with family in town) and scheduled our entire day around this appointment. I even had my in-laws take part of their visit to pick me up while they work on the install for 3 hours. I arrived at my appointment on time and they made us wait 45 minutes to tell me that they don’t have the hitch that was ordered 2 weeks ago! They didn’t even have the professionalism to call me in advance to let me know they didn’t have the parts. Instead they had me waste my entire day because they are not organized. We will not be doing business with Uhaul again.

Could not have been less helpful or failed to communicate more. They were 5 hours late in delivering my uboxes and never bothered to call to tell me they would be late. Then they promised to reimburse me for my movers expenses as recompense but only refunded a months rent instead. Their driver also crushed my neighbors drain when he backed the trailer in. Definitely use anyone else for your moving needs as using this location is a mistake.

Terrible...if I had a different place to rent a truck I would have gone....they nothing, no furniture dollys, furniture pads, and the customer service wreaked with bad attitude
Rayna did an excellent job of swapping out a smaller trailer for a larger one, and setting me up with some accessories I needed. They have a better deal on cargo straps than Harbor Freight. And their locks are reasonably priced also. Very happy.
I hate hidden fees. Dropped off a tow trailer after hours only to experience an after hours hidden fee I didnt know about. Staff was too busy to explain much of anything to me when I rented it. Something was wrong with the wiring on the trailer too and the lights didnt work.
Picked up a nail off the road in a Uhaul tire. Had I known they would charge me 253.00 for the tire I would have kept it as I surely paid for it.
A little far from the center of Asheville but well equipped for tricks annd trailers. Also storage units. Friendly and helpful staff!!!

We had all appointment for 1pm. Got a call about 12pm saying they are running behind and it will be 1:15pm before they get to our truck. Okay no problem. We get there about 1:10pm and we wait & we wait & we wait. . .So about 2pm or so ww get told they dont have the part its at the other store & they have to go it. That is gonna be another half hour befoee they get to start on our truck. 😆Finally the part gets there and they take our truck in. We finally get out of there at 4:30pm.I do have to say thank you bcuz the manager did give us a small discount for having to wait that long!Thank you!!!
Rana helped turn a stressful move into a great success. Couldn’t have gotten it done without her guidance. For that reason alone, I highly recommend this location.

The customer service here is terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They do not answer the phones they just go to the u haul call center. I have called and left messages with the manager and the president of the facility no answer and would not return my phone call explaining my situation and my terrible experience at this facility.

This was a great location to rent from. The staff are friendly and courteous and there was a variety of equipment to choose from. They went out of their way to make sure we had the rental we asked for in a timely manner.

I went in to rent a car trailer today very nice young lady waited on me. 15 minutes into my rental another lady walks in and walks right up and starts trying to get her rental with no acknowledgment that we were obviously doing business and the clerk started helping her. Seriously what happened to 1st come 1st serve business and manners. So I told the lady to go ahead and help her I would go elsewhere. Not good customer service Uhaul!!!

We rented 2 trucks from UHAUL on Sweeten Creek Road to relocate to Florida. The customer service was great and easy UNTIL the starter went out on the second truck DURING the 13 hour drive with 2 kids and 3 dogs.Then, of course, they charge our card full price and will not return our calls. Several messages to the location on Sweeten Creek and District Manager with NO CALL BACK. Dont take a chance!
I was satisfied not to expensive for the size of the truck I needed friendly staff would have gave a five star but the wait is very long to get started need more staff
Bait and Switch - We had a guaranteed auto transport that was switched to a tow dolly. When we told them this wasnt what we ordered and asked for it to be switched to the transport we were told that thats what they had and they couldnt give us what they didnt have. (take it or get out basically) - Well the tow dolly, ripped up my hood latch, wore down my battery because of the lack of lights on the tow dolly, tore up my tires and suspension. When I called to ask about payment for damages and what about the GUARANTEE - which I do have in writing. I was told they would give me $50 to make up for the lack of equipment. I have over $600 in damages to my car. Dealing with the insurance claims of UHaul is not any better. Its been almost 2 months now and they are still not sure what we want. We want payment for the damages done by your equipment. If they had given us the equipment we ordered and they guaranteed this could have been avoided. Uhaul is not worth dealing with. I would recommend ANYONE else. I mean ANYONE. If I could give them a negative 20 stars I would.
This is the absolute worst uhaul in the nation. The women that work here are extremely rude every time. The storage facility is unsafe an alarm siren goes off every time you open your storage unit. Not to mention they are the most expensive storage facility in Asheville. The owner - their appear to be several told me I needed a major credit card to rent a uhaul but I didn’t need one for the other 2 times I used one. It appears I was discriminating against me because I’m a man by rana. There are no men who work here and she was eavesdropping and bias to me while I was working with another associate to rent a vehicle.
Just moved here from FL. I asked if I could park my car here a few hours while I move my stuff with the U-Haul. Owner said No. I told her my kids are minors and I have nobody to help. She didn’t care. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! DO NOT GO HERE. All they care about is getting your money!

I had a lot of worries about moving across the country, so prior to reserving a Ubox, I called U-Haul with a laundry list of questions, such as, “Will you deliver directly to my new address?” and, “Can you track the Ubox?” and, “If I don’t know my exact address yet, can I still make my reservation?” Their answers were, “Yes,” “Yes,” and “Yes, as long as you update my destination address before the Uboxes ship.” However, she was wrong all on accounts. The boxes were delivered (and then packed by professional movers) perfectly fine. The local driver picked them up a day late (on the 12th), though, because U-Haul was “short staffed.” Not a big deal. Now, fast-forward to my new home 2,400 miles away. I signed into their website to ‘track’ my Ubox, but all it tells you is that it’s “in transit.” When I called (twice), I was told that U-Haul didn’t know where the boxes were, had no way to contact the driver, and had no idea when they would arrive. When your entire life is in those two boxes, that’s a problem. The boxes finally arrived one day late (on the 30th), but when I signed back in online, the “guaranteed arrival date” had been extended—I assume so that they didn’t have to pay a late delivery fee ($50/day). But the boxes didn’t arrive to my apartment as promised; they were delivered to a facility. When I called, they said they never intended to ship them to my new home even though it was in my contract. They said I needed to pay another fee to ship them to my apartment, and, worst of all, that the fee would be more than $800! When I asked why, they said it was because the boxes were more than 50 miles away. (There’s a facility five minutes from me) Also, the delivery facility wasn’t even the one on my contract. Over the course of several days, I spoke to 11 different people. Three times they told me a supervisor would call me back within 24 hours. No one did. One person told me my account said I had three boxes instead of two. Another person told me that my boxes were actually 16 miles away. One person told me my new address was not on my account. (The previous person read it to me to confirm, so it was clearly deleted at some point.) Basically, no one knew anything. And their explanation as to why the boxes were shipped to the wrong place? Because I changed my address after signing the contract. (I was told that I could.) I tried to submit a complaint, and they said I’d receive a call the next day. I did not. I called back, and they said there wasn’t a complaint, so I had to file another one. The resolution was to offer ‘complimentary delivery’ even though it was supposed to be free in the first place. When the boxes finally arrived, we discovered that one of the boxes had been screwed shut and the other looked like it had been picked up and shaken. A few items, including my 65” TV, were broken. Two weeks later, I’m still fighting to have their insurance company, Rep West, honor the insurance I purchased and repair the TV. Plus, the boxes were delivered only three days before the 30-day limit (if you keep the boxes after that date, you’re charged extra) so we had to rush to empty them. And to top it all off, the money you’re owed for late delivery doesn’t go into your account automatically. You have to call the origin facility to beg for it. I’ve called twice and was told to expect a call back from the manager. No one has called. DO NOT USE U-HAUL UBOX UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Ive rented trucks with UHaul for decades. Ive been to numerous facilities, both old and new, with and without storage. In this case I used a truck and rented a storage unit. This review is not a reflection of a bad store level staff. I feel bad for the manager, who has to run this location. Doing the best possible with a bad situation. Running this location has got to be kind of a nightmare right now.First the truck rental:They have a new process that is an aggressive option, called Express. I didnt select it, but I kept getting notified that I chose it. I kept setting it back to a counter check in and it kept going back to Express. Super irritating, because I know this is a cost cutting measure and not a convenience for the consumer. I was frustrated, but trying to go with the flow. Express is kind of cool, except it is essentially the customer doing a more thorough check out than the employees often do. Taking pictures of your license front and back, the odometer, any unmarked damage, giving two personal contacts to verify identity......... Its absurd and it doesnt even make the rental cheaper. I cant express, pun intended, in words how angry I am to be surprised by something I didnt ask for and needing contacts to verify my identity. I booked online!!! Why didnt it ask for this information during booking!?!!! Some positive points I must share. The roadside assistance when I locked the keys in the truck. I suspect there would have been a charge on older truck, but the Ford was under warranty. Ask for new equipment when available to lesson this possibility. The new Ford vans are pretty awesome! Good fuel economy on steep mountain roads at highway speed. Good stereo and great pickup too, even loaded. Sharp contrast to the sluggish gas hog I moved up here in. It couldnt get above 10mph on a 5% grade, in 2nd gear. A 10 hour drive took 14 plus hours. Should have rented a Diesel for towing, but they didnt have one. My mistake there, but they shouldnt let you rent a truck for a job they should know it cant do well.Now the storage facility: Many are nice. Not this one. Under construction isnt an adequate description. Its a construction site and shouldnt be open yet. They havent finished the majority of the units, there are hazards like cords on the floor, 10 ft plus ladders leaning on walls, railing in the halls, pallet jacks, equipment everywhere, my unit had a big nail sticking out of the concrete (thankfully a construction guy broke it off,) work trucks and a dumpster blocking the loading area...... Look before you lease. The site is only kind of secure, I heard a guy say there are some ROOF LEAKS [WHAT!?!?!] to someone on the phone, the floors are pretty dusty, unloading kind of sucks.... The fact that my first month wasnt free is almost criminal. My advice is wait til construction is done and ask what happens if the roof leaks on your stuff (pretty sure they arent liable,) or look elsewhere. I will be moving mine elsewhere, when I can.Follow up on storage 5.16.18: I got a message this morning. Evidently the roof leaks I overheard being discussed are a problem. I have to go check my unit for water damage today. Aparently, there is some water under the door. Great!!!!! Luckily, the expensive insurance they force on you will cover about 1/4 of the value of my belongings. Its my fault, I guess, for not moving it to a new facility, since I knew of this issue. I regret picking this location. This place is over priced and evidently not safe from the elements.To Uhaul Corporate, I wrote this primarily because you made the store manager call me to apologize for YOUR problems. The staff there are part of the solution, your operational decision to open as usual while midway through construction is a demonstration of short sited corporate greed. This kind of experience is the result, of a better to take the money and risk losing the customer philosophy. You are never going to be the first company, I call for storage or truck rental again. If I do, it will be as a last resort.

Worst experience. Us and a few other guys waited in the office thirty to forty minutes. Just for then to tell us the reservation scheduled for another location when we call and confirmed this one. Now we are being charged for a larger truck because they dont have ours here. We are delayed an hour on moving now. And the other people are delayed until Monday to move. Awful experience.
We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to pickup a reserved and paid-for truck, and the worst part, when we walked in the lobby, there was only one customers ahead of us, who was already with the sales attendant. The trucks front window was filthy with bugs and the inside was dirty from prior rentals. Im not sure how a business stays in business with such poor service.
Do yourself a favor and download the U-Haul app for pick up and return. They only had one person working on a Saturday. The supervisor was too busy to help and was interrupting the one employee that was trying to help.

They waited until 30 minutes after my reservation to let me know it had been moved to a location 30 minutes away. Thats after making a 15 minute drive and waiting to find out where it was. Customer service was a hassle and counterintuitive.
