The view at sunset from near the water tower is great. Feels like the tallest place around.

Lots of variety, good prices. Sushi section is always well stocked and fresh. Fresh produce is good but the employees need to look closer at their packed salads because Ive seen expired bags several times.The bathrooms never really clean. And the cashiers, maybe they just have alot of bad days. I wish they had a self check out

Be very careful with expiration dates at Market Basket. I can’t tell you how many items I picked up in one visit at their store in Athol that the sell by date had already gone by. I’m not sure how they are getting away with this. I find it very upsetting. My intention is to buy and have for several days, NOT BUY and THROW OUT a day later (especially deli items) and their meats. Very very disappointed. I bought some yogurt, opened it up and tossed it because it had mold growing. At $5. and some change, I can’t afford that. I’d rather hop in my car and drive to Whole Foods in Worcester!

I’ve been shopping here since they opened. However my family, been shopping at one in Billerica and Lowell for many many years. I’ve lived in other states and shopped at many grocery stores in my day. I will say that not just this MB is great but they all are really good. You get more for your money. Always. Clean, professional, family owned, and IMO that makes a difference. If you haven’t tried MB, please do. Great. Much cheaper than stop & shop, more local products, full meat and seafood departments. Pre-packaged meals all looked very fresh. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive!

This is the best Market Basket Ive ever had the pleasure of shopping at. Not nearly as crazy and busy as others in the central MA area, always clean, and staff are helpful. Most notably though, the pizza at Market Kitchen is literally some of the most delicious pizza in the entire area - not kidding. Better than most take out joints.

This was a pretty clean grocery store and very easy to find items and helpful employees.

It is absolutely outstanding how these employees manage to walk around a store full of zombies and keep a smile on there face. This towns New millennials are growing up with parents who dont tell their kids about temp agencies or car loans and most wind up homeless with their parents taking custody of their kids and for these strong employees to have risen above out the mud and survive in such a cursed corner of the world deserves a pat on the shoulder. You better respect these employees cuz they do actually wanna rip your face off at any given moment. No idea how they manage. The more I think about it the more impressive it is.

Ordered chicken Cesar salad wrap from Market kitchen. It was surprisingly delicious and so full! My husband was very pleased withhis burger and fries. I will definitely order again.

Best big grocery store in the area!

My wife loves shopping at Market Basket, she takes advantage of purchasing sale items. I accidentally left my lights on in our car, and customer service provided excellent help in getting us assistance.

I have been going to Market Basket or DeMoulas whenever I have found one. And when they opened one in my town I was excited. I buy almost all of my food there. Not even the Walmart Superstore can beat their prices. Their fresh produce wasnt always good but they have improved that immensely.

12/03/20 at store this am encountered several shoppers without masks on. Brought it to a Managers (red coat) attention. I was informed he couldn’t do anything about it. Really!! It’s mandatory in MA to wear a mask in public. This Manager didn’t even approach these shoppers with concerns that they weren’t wearing masks. I had more shopping to do, but proceeded to register and paid for what was in my cart. I will NEVER shop at your store again. To me this manager was a cowardly person in charge of your store. Be healthy and safe.

Its very large and had the basics. If you are looking for anything special or anything international, it probably wont be there. The atmosphere is very retro but in a bad way.

I love the selection, but absolutely hate the service. Need deli meat or seafood? Get ready to watch one guy wait on everyone while three other people and a manager just wander about. Cashier needs help at the checkout line? Watch another manager just stare instead of helping the already stressed lower level crew. Its maddening.

You can guarantee this store is a likely epicenter of exposure for COVID-19 for northwestern Worcester County and southeastern Franklin County.Use Instacart People!! This insanity is not worth it.

Of all the MARKET BASKETS this fairly new store 4+ years offers on site order to go meals, fresh sushi 🍣, a clean environment, and friendly staff! 👍🏻👍🏻Highly recommend ... even if it’s a lil bit of a road trip.... it’s worth the scenic drive....

I am very impressed with Market Basket and so are my neighbors. It is always crowded. Their prices are very competitive, often the lowest. I have 2 complaints. They seem to put stock on the shelves without pricing information. They need to invest in service training for all of their associates. I have encountered some who are downright surly and act like I am in their way.

Loved it! Very good quality food items, very affordable ( much less than big y or stop and shop) clean, spacious, many lanes open, very friendly cashier and bagger who took an extra minute to pack my stuff perfectly!

The stars are for the food and prices, unfortunately, market basket, youve lost the other three stars due to your employees. All the times Ive been into your store I have only had one positive experience with an employee who was polite and helpful when asked a question. Every other time unfortunately, when I would ask a question Im met with rudeness or lack of knowledge. Ive waited a long time to write this because I like to give places second chances, but Im done. I will no longer shop at your store solely to avoid your rude employees (except for one). Ill only come back if you install a self checkout line and maybe not even then. Also I dont know who is in charge of the floor set up but they are probably doing illegal drugs because having, for example, sports drinks divided into two separate aisles on opposite ends of the store makes no logical sense whatsoever.

The prices are right here. It is always busy but the location is right and the staff is always kind.

This is a wonderful store. I go every week and have the nicest time. The cashiers and baggers are so sweet, they greet you, are not afraid to talk to you, and don’t look miserable while at work. Prices are super. I drive 30 minutes to get here because the prices are that much lower than the options in greenfield or Hadley/Amherst.

Great store to shop. But went there on Wednesday this week and saw a customer with NO MASK. I thought you could not go into the store without one. PLEASE reinforce the face mask. You let one go in without one, then you will have more without a mask. Athol market basket.

This is an excellent Market Basket and an example of what all Market Baskets should aspire to be. Everything in the store was meticulously detailed and placed exactly where it should be. The deli was very clean and well stocked, as were the seafood and meat departments, the bakery was well organized, the isles were clean and fully stocked, everything in the produce department was fresh and clean, and the kitchen was full of prepared foods. The staff throughout the store were well dressed and professional, and obviously working hard to maintain their standard of what a grocery shopping experience should be.The prices in the store were reasonable, as with most Market Baskets, and the prepared foods were made to order or available under a hot lamp. The best deal in the kitchen is probably the cheeseburger and fries for $2.99, made to order, topped with almost whatever youd like, served on a toasted bun, and wrapped to go, and served with a giant handful of crispy thick cut fries. The wings were good, but not great, and were more ob the expensive end of prepared foods. The seafood salad from the deli was prepackaged and not the best quality, unfortunately. At $5.99 for a one pound prepackaged container, I expected it to be better than average, but it fell short of that.The store also has a seating area in front where you could relax for a while after shopping, or enjoy some of the very good freshly made food from the kitchen. There are two restrooms, one in the seating area by the main entrance, and one next to the seafood department.

Called in to ask about meat that spoiled. I live about :20 from here and dont typically shop at MB. Was transferred to the Asst Mgr who was very kind to deal with. Now I go here every time I am passing through the area.

This is a well done giant supermarket. The food is fresh, seafood is fresh. Carry everything. Prices are good. Meat is excellent and they have a butcher, and they grind meat so I can grind a roast into ground beef and get the exact piece of meat I want. You can order cuts of meats for holidays too. Nice organic and local meats, produce, and dairy. We recommend.
