We went in on 9/30 to buy a car. It is now 11/2 and we are still signing new contracts and paperwork that weve already signed 4+ times. Richard, the salesman, was great. The sales manager team, however kind, had absolutely no idea what they were doing. We have been going back and forth for OVER a month and the process STILL is not complete. We havent received our tags, our trade ins are building late fees because it hasnt been paid off which is ripping our credit scores apart and when we ask them what the hold up is, they laugh it off. This was the second time we have attempted to purchase a vehicle from them. The first time we bought one fairly quickly, drove it home only to learn that theyd overfilled the oil and blew all of the engine seals. After weeks of awaiting repair for the damages, the guy meets us at work to sign the final contracts for the supposed repaired vehicle, we learned that he wasnt even selling us what we had originally purchased. The contracts were for the vehicle theyd lent to us to use while the original was fixed. Bottom line here... unless youre buying outright or really REALLY enjoy signing contracts over and over again while being lied to and strung along, please do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else but here.P.S. Richard... go work somewhere where they treat you like the gem you are. You were very kind to us and for that, I thank you.

Not all stokes are the same I dont recommend this one! I went in knowing I was going to buy a car. They showed me one and I loved it, my kids loved it. It was perfect. Had excellent safety reviews, excellent reliability reviews and was big enough for my big family. Put the money down, signed for it, Was told I could not take it home as it had to go into the shop still but should be able to pick it up the next day. Never heard from them the next day. Called them on Wednesday and asked. Was told it was still in the shop and that there was a snag with financing as my last pay stub I had had covid. I asked if I could get something from my manager, etc proving that I make what I do or if we could wait until Friday to have my next full paystub. The conversation was spotty from then on. Friday I finally called and asked if they had received my paystubs I had sent them. They informed me yes but that the car I had a contract for in hand was no longer available. They sold it twice, and waited to tell me while keeping my money. I asked for my money back and they back peddled. Hold on weve got something for you. I told them I wanted a similar car for the same price. They said ok. Asked me about a car that did not have good reliability reviews, or the options the other car had. I said no please just give me my money back. They then convinced me another time to let them figure it out. At this point it had been a week they had been holding on to my money. So I told them Im coming in tomorrow morning and am either buying a car on the lot that I can take home that day or I want my money back. Went in in the morning and they asked me to put down 1500 more for a lesser car. Told me they couldnt drop the price on the car any lower. They were already losing money. Which we all know is not true. So rather than trying to right theyre wrong, they tried to get even more profit. They refunded me, but since I put some cash down was told they would need to write me a check. And I would get a call the next business day. Never heard from them so a week later had to call them to get my check. If you do choose to go here, go to Robert. He seemed to be the only non scammy sales guy here.

Dealt with richard doctor at the Beaufort office,, if your looking for a new car he is someone I would recommend and will be doing buisness with again,,,, and West is a solid member of the team that man sat there until 9pm to make sure everything was done and ready to go with our deal so a big shout out to him and richard is necessary

Today I came in looking to get some information about a car I had seen online and met Cesar B. Etanislao. I didn’t notice it at first but by the time I left I realized I had one of the best sales consultants they had to offer. I was so grateful to have gotten paired with such a professional, polite, and positive individual. Not only can he offer services in Spanish but he’s also down to earth and understanding of any situation you may be in. Amazing experience with Chad (Sales MGR) purchasing a Land Cruiser. No slippery sales tactics, courteous throughout entire process, fair price and negotiation, and great conversation. Treated w/ respect entire time and never got the feeling the dealership was trying to do what they could to tack more and more onto the price of the vehicle (like most dealerships). Best part was honesty. Chad was up front with me with what wasnt perfect on the vehicle and could use addressing. After all it was an older vehicle/cash sale (AS-IS).Lastly, there was an issue w/ my Title Transfer. Chad apologized multiple times, constantly followed up via text, phone, and email, driving process and resolution through the appropriate teams. At the end of the day when the paperwork was sent from our Tag Office back to them, they made it right, and sent a company driver w/ paperwork to the County Tag Office, got my tag and registration, and delivered it to me at my office in Pooler. WOW! This was all done for me because the temp tag was expiring 2 days later. I know my situation was not the norm but if theyre willing to do this for their customers on a cheap cash-sale vehicle, theyll go the extra mile for you if something occurs. If all dealerships worked this way there would be no negative stigmas across the industry. Kudos Chad, Crystal, and the Stokes Team!!

I bought a car from this dealership in 2013, returned today and experienced how much theyve changed. First, I had been communicating with a female, when I got there I was interviewed by a male. $5k to $6k is not realistic for a down payment regardless of your credit score. Dont say we help rebuild credit when you dont at least explore all options 🤥

The people I worked with were great. Matt, Pam, Andrew and Gus all very helpful. When I got there neither of the cars I wanted to see were ready but, I was called when one of them was. I took a car home and loved it however, it was very poorly detailed. I asked for it to be detailed again and still came back no better then the first time. That’s something Ill unfortunately have get done myself which is a little ridiculous for such a large dealership. However, besides that everyone I was in contact with was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend sending people to this location as long as they take care of that little detailing issue.

Worst customer service. Not transparent with ANY INFORMATION. Matthew West and the Finance Manager Gus said it’s an internal fee to have a vehicle transferred FROM THEIR OWN SISTER OF $800. I called the store and Brittany on Honda’s side In Charleston (North Store) said they will not charge but instead come purchase from them. Which is in consideration now. It’s sad that being in this industry is not transparent at all. Quoted a $406 monthly payment for a car with warranty. Which is still 16,000 miles in warranty. However, never gave any options on what the warranty consists of. This is mind boggling at the very least.

My wife and I went looking for a car to replace one that was totaled in an accident. The first one we test drove was listed at $14, 700. We liked the car and made an offer, (we told them if was a cash offer, no financing needed). They said they had no room to lower the price on that car but had another exactly the same car that they could do better on. We drove that car and offered an out the door price. They countered with a meet us in the middle, which I agreed to. Then the salesman that was training our salesman comes back saying they couldnt do that price. After calling them back and waiting 2 hours, we went back to the dealership willing the pay the agreed upon price, only to have the general manager say that the out the door price agreed upon price was now $1000. higher because it didnt include all the taxes and other documentation needed. I wasted the better part of my day only to still need a car!

What is there to say?Used car salesman, and a dealer famous for the shakedown and add-ons and high prices. Enter at your own risk.

BEWARE!! I went to trade in my car, which unfortunately, I am upside down in. I called first and explained my situation to Andrew, the general manager, before going because I knew that a trade-in might not be possible. I was told to come in and he was sure that we could work something out. When I arrived, I once again explained my situation and made it VERY CLEAR that I didnt want to get into a situation where my payments would be more than $20 or so more than I am paying now. After running the numbers, Andrew told me that I had too much negative equity to trade in. He then asked me if I knew anyone who could take over my payments. My response was No, absolutely not. He then asked if I could put down $5000. Again I said no. He then said .Let me check some things, run some numbers and see what we can work out. I sat there for about 45 minutes before my salesman brought an SUV around for me to test drive. After driving, I confirmed that the payments were within my range. At this point I was very pleased that true to his word, Andrew had worked it out for me. However, everytime I asked my salesman anything about the numbers, he would tell me that he knew nothing about it, that I would get all of the info from the finance guy. After waiting for another 1 1/2 hours, we finally made it back to the financing office. As the guy (who was very nice) began going over the contract, I noticed that he didnt mention my trade in. When I asked him about it, he said that there was no trade in. Of course I was concerned. He left to talk to Andrew about why the trade in was not in the contract and guess what??? Andrew informed him that he couldnt take my trade in, but was still selling me a car! In other words, his solution to my problem of getting rid of my current car and staying around my current payment was to double my monthly payment by selling me a second car. He claims that it was a miscommunication... I beg to differ. It is very obvious that his goal was to sell a car regardless of the position it would put me in. No wonder car salesmen have a bad reputation. Thank goodness I thought to ask about the trade-in or I would have woken up this morning not only upside down in my current car, but with an additional car and a second $400 car payment. In addition, when I spoke to Andrew about what he had tried to do, he was unapologetic and suddenly very matter of fact. He basically acted as if he was trying to do me a big favor. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. Who in their right mind would go to trade in a car and come home with that car AND another car/payment to boot?I very rarely write reviews, but felt that I needed to share my experience so that others dont get taken advantage of as I almost did. Since I couldnt give zero stars, the one star goes to the finance guy, who seemed as taken aback by the situation as I was.

Unprofessional sales people hired off the street with zero training. Inventory is high mileage, out of warranty enterprise rental cars. Touched up and cleaned up to look like local trades. Owner places a “pack”(hides)an 800 fee on in house inventory, $1600 if brought in from his other lots.(that’s right, costs you extra 800 bucks if you don’t choose one of the gems out front). $399 doc fee then is added along with as much profit the bank will allow. Hooray you just bought a car that 75 different people rented for 19.95 a day and drove before you bought it. All Stokes Used Cars had to do was treat me right and this conversation would have been different.

Yes they make it easy for you to get a car. They supposedly read the contract to you without actually telling you the important and they got me stuck with a sub prime loan. They dont care about there customers all they car about is making there half of the car purchase. 1st year was great until I call the place that that gave me the car loan and ask about how much I owe I realize its more than what I was told the prize would be. The intrest keep changing every such months. So which means it will take longer to pay this off. Apparently Im paying intrest only and what I owe isnt going much down from what Im paying. So if you are purchasing a car for the first time careful theyll take advantage of you.
