Superb experience. We went into the store with our minds set on one product. Took several laps around the showroom, which does a phenomenal job of presenting a range of products from a range of brands. We werent bothered until we were ready for it. The sales reps were very socially aware of our space and readiness.The actual interactions were sales-perfect. Expert insights, anecdotes from other customers experiences with products, their service departments experience with products, and thoughtful investigation into our exact wants and needs. This was especially valuable with our move to an induction range.Its cliche to talk about the local experience versus a big box store, but its all true with DeWaard & Bode. Nailed it. Thanks

Beware of bait and switch practices!! This company clearly sells scratch and dent products at full retail prices and then won’t help to remedy the situation.We bought a new refrigerator from their main store. When it was delivered, it had significant damage to it which they claimed they did not know about in advance. But the damage was so severe to the box itself even, that it was clearly known before it was delivered to us. See the pictures of the box with yellow tape signifying the damage to the box. And then see the picture of the door on the actual refrigerator. When the damage happened, someone in the warehouse put a piece of yellow tape on the box. Yet, they sold it at full retail price instead of at a discount as a scratch and dent item. It’s now been almost 2 1/2 months later, and they still have not replace the door, or really even reached out to provide status.When I emailed the sales person the very day it got delivered, I did not get a response at all. I emailed a week later and he said that he didn’t really know because it was the service departments issue. Passing the buck. No ownership of the problem.The delivery guys were great and very conscience and friendly.Update: within one business day of posting this review, they contacted us and offered us a door off of one of their in-stock refrigerators. It would’ve been nice if they offered that upfront, but it does show at least an interest in maintaining a good review. They came out and tried to install it. The electrical connections were different. So they ended up replacing the entire fridge with one from stock. Again, the delivery guys were excellent.

I went into the showroom to try a Classic Nectar mattress. The salesman, Jason B., was very knowledgeable and answered my questions. My delivery date was set for 3 business days later. The two delivery guys, Jacob H. and Nate, were about 1/2 hour early (which was fine), and also very knowledgeable. They took my old mattress away for recycling and set up my new mattress. Cant wait for bedtime!!

My wife and I have purchased multiple appliances here (washer/dryer/freezer) for our new home. The selection, prices, and customer service in particular are all EXCELLENT. Jeff on their sales team is fantastic, very helpful to assist within the budget you have and not a stream of upselling like so many other big box competitors. The great service does not end there, Jacob on their delivery team was absolutely fantastic. Cannot recommend this company highly enough and will be doing all our future shopping here exclusively. We even had to back out of a custom order due to a family member surprising us with the same item as a house warning and they were completely understanding and there were no issues whatsoever getting a refund for the deposit we paid. To top it off, they are a local family owned company

Start to finish we had awesome assistance and support. In store, Mitch was knowledgeable and listened to what we wanted. He has also been available for follow up questions which is important. For delivery, Edgar and chase were considerate, cautious and professional. Edgar answered my many questions while they did a quick and thorough install. They had to adjust some things on the fly that our builder did improperly, and still got it done. Highly recommend all the way around!

My husband and I needed a new refrigerator immediately, because our old one had died and we were keeping our food cold with dry ice. Jason, the salesperson, was awesome. He managed to set up same-day delivery and installation for our new fridge. The delivery team were just as good. They replaced our fridge that afternoon and hauled away the old one. All of the staff were friendly and helpful the entire time. The selection of refrigerators was extensive, and they happened to have the one we wanted in stock that day. All around, an excellent experience.

Charged $140 for a service tech to come out and “diagnose” the problem BEFORE looking at the fridge. Three minutes of his time that could have definitely been a phone call. When my husband mentioned this he chuckled and said yeah it’s a known problem with Samsung fridges. Spent less than ten minutes at our house. As he left he said, when you go to purchase your next fridge mention this service call for $35 off! Scam of a service call. We’ll buy our next fridge, and any future appliances elsewhere.Heard back from the customer service department today, they stated that we were informed of the charge when we scheduled the appointment and that this would be a “diagnostic” visit. That was untrue as we make detailed notes as we schedule these types of things, the fee was not disclosed to us. The technician diagnosed the fridge before he looked at it. It had already been “diagnosed” before he got there.DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR SERVICE CALL SCAM!!Customer service lady my husband spoke to was rude and confrontational. We expected that we would pay something as he drove to our home but $140 is steep for not doing a damn thing and not gathering any further information than what he had before he got to our house.

Update! Repair service on our dishwasher is just had a 4th visit. Mind you our dishwasher quit working 2weeks before the birth of our child who is now 2months old.1st visit- we need to order parts to fix it, they may opt to replace.2nd visit- call oh they didnt order all of your parts so its pointless for me to come.3rd visit- ok I literally replaced every part and it works.2 days later water is pouring out of the bottom of our dishwasher. Good for them I havent replaced the floor yet. Oh an when I looked under there was a plug not plugged in. Beside the water pouring out.4th visit- ya I am going to need to order a part the motor seal is bad. We can reschedule in 2weeks.You had the entire bottom of the dishwasher off and replaced all the motors. Did ya forget to tighten something and thats why the seal is bad.Received a call from the service manager over the holiday weekend, he touch based and would get the part needed asap. Manager called and confirmed part was on its way and service would happen soon.5th visit, part replaced, tech worked hard to ensure no leaks an everything is functioning.Will update rating again after 48hrs.

This was absolutely the best experience II have ever had with a purchase and installation. I initially went with a different appliance store that serves my area but II had terrible service right from the start so we obtained a refund before the cooktop was even installed. I called DeWaard and Bode about my situation only to discover that they don’t generally service my area. However, the manager decided to make me a happy customer and it was installed in just under two weeks with plenty of time before the holidays. The independently contracted installers were top notch. I truly appreciate this company and I just cannot give enough praise!

First off, walked around the showroom a dozen times with David and riddled him with about a million questions. He new exactly what we were after and was able to direct us to exactly what would fit our kitchen and the best brands to stick to. Asked for a complete kitchen set of appliances from multiple brands and he said he’d have quotes to me in a couple hours. Sure enough he did exactly like he said he would.After price shopping against Lowe’s and dealing with their customer service the pricing was all the same. I left Lowe’s frustrated and burnt. The next day we went in and placed our order with David.Will be coming back for our washer and dryer in a couple months.

Worst Service ImaginableWe are now on our second service call for a Thermador Range that cost about $7,000. It stopped functioning about 2 months after purchase. Finally fixed after waiting about 4 weeks without a stove. The service manager was rude and arrogant. The tech installed a new electrical motherboard. He adjusted the cooktop burners because they were set wrong during installation. After 1 day the oven stopped heating again. Wife called the service department. Call went directly to voicemail. Havent heard from them in over 2 weeks. SO after owning the range for about four months, it has only worked for about 2 months. Service is so slow!!!! Ive called Thermador customer service only to be told, they will send a work order. They cant force DeWaard & Bode to fix it. D & B has no interest in fixing anything. If you want reliable appliances youll have to go somewhere else. If you need reliable service youll have to go somewhere else. Run, dont walk away from D & B

My wife and I are in the process of a big home remodel. We bought all of our kitchen and laundry appliances from Jason B. He was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant but didnt pressure us at all. He had some good suggestions and matched lower prices from other retailers. Delivery was problem free, they came when they said they would. We wouldnt hesitate to buy from Dewaard & Bode again. Hopefully we dont need to use their service department but were comforted that they are there to help if needed.

Just had a new washing machine delivered today. Was SO IMPRESSED with the two young men that came and delivered. They were efficient with their installation process and were SO SWEET with my kids. My two youngest held open the door for them, they were so interested in watching them work. After the delivery guys got the new washer inside the house they gave each kid a dollar bill “for all their hard work!”. My kids were BEAMING. It was such a bright spot in our day. Can’t recommend them enough!

We needed to buy six new appliances for our home. Id already visited a number of other places in town and was fairly dialed in on most of the models we wanted and their sale pricing. I found Colin, the D&B sales person, knowledgeable, a good listener and easy to work with. After exploring these appliances with Colin and with seeing the pricing was very competitive we decided to go ahead and purchase all six appliances through them.Right after the installs I noticed the washer and dryer were at different heights. I contacted Colin and he actually came out himself and corrected this right away.Once we moved there was an issue with the washer. It was determined by their service department that we should go with another style washer. I selected a new set at the store and within a few days two delivery people, Allen and Josh, showed up to do the swap out. They took great care to not damage the doorways, doors or hardwood floors of our new home. This took special attention as the space in the laundry room is tight. These guys were very good.The overall B&D experience was great. There are others not mentioned here that took the need for replacement very seriously and provided us with excellent customer service. Ive found this outfit stands behind the products and service they provide and would go back there without reservation in the future.

Great experience. Called, and they were willing to match Costcos price on a new LG stove. Processed the order immediately and had it delivered and installed in under 48 hours. Installation team was great - very professional. Overall one of the best appliance purchase experiences Ive had. Note it was going to take 1-2 weeks to have it delivered by Costco or Lowes (and Lowes was more expensive). So a great local company that does price matching and quick delivery! Awesome!

If youre looking for new appliances, there is no other store in Bellingham to consider but DeWaard & Bode. Jason the sales associate was most helpful, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating of my various demands. Bo and Alex, the delivery guys who just delivered my new Miele washer/dryer, are most professional and helpful. They had to pick up a refrigerator on top of delivering the W/D and had to work hard to fit it through the doors. They are so nice and have such a positive attitude. Highly recommend this business!

I went into your store looking for a gas range because mine was going out, yall were currently having a sale and I had purchased several other appliances from yall in the past. I found a stove that I liked and the sale price was agreeable so I started talking the salesperson about getting it. Never once was it mentioned that if I did get it it would be the floor model. The floor model that I received was dented and scratched even though the salesperson when I talked to them again claim to have inspected it before it left the facility. The salesperson refused to really help me and just kept giving me the runaround saying to take it or refuse it because he could not do anything else. I had to accept it because I really needed my stove and my previous one was broken but I will never do business with you again.

Ethan and Jacob delivered our mattress and adjustable frame and set things up for us. They were very polite, courteous, and careful, among other good qualities. They helped explain the mechanisms associated with the bed and frame. They went the extra mile by putting the plastic on the mattress that was going out the door to its new owners. We worked with David at the store and found him equally pleasant and helpful to work with. He gave us lots of space when we needed iti and was available when we needed him. We appreciated the entire experience with employees of DeWaard & Bode. We were pleased that they didnt mark the prices up high and then deep discount them for sale prices. Their prices were the same low prices as the other places having sales on the same mattresses.

Sales people are great. Actually getting the product installed is a part time job. They will IGNORE everything you tell them about the install.When they showed to install my dryer, they didnt have the parts needed despite me telling my salesman what was needed and sending pictures. They told me to go buy the needed parts at a hardware store and they would come back the next day.Update: the next day when I called back, they had no plan to come back to install the machines or any record of the previous days events. they tell me they will call me back. They call me back later saying they would come that afternoon and they were very sorry.Two new gentlemen arrive. They have no idea how to make the telescoping vent, that I was sent to buy, work. They tell me that I need something else. At this point I beg them to just get it done.So it turns out they are not given any tools or training so the kid hand cuts the vent with Tin shears he has. Slowly removing little bites. Several hours later he whittled down so it would fit.I felt so bad for the kids, I waited to post this so D&B would hopefully not be able to scold them for telling the truth: they don’t equip their people to succeed with training, equipment or communication.

Two stars because the assistance was zero. I manage units and I need a good deal. Zero attention even after asking. I am guessing it was sheetrock mud and paint on my clothes. A bit high but told delivery is included. I dont know for a fact because a working class person isnt deserving of a minimum wage salesmans time. I purchased a washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator for a unit at another place that gave me the time of day. Funny, how 80 minutes of my time not getting help cost them more.

Pleasantly surprised! Was able to get the exact set of Washer/Dryer that I wanted (LG) for more than $1,000 less expensive than anywhere else. The sales person was very helpful...the only surprise we had was that we brought it home only to realize that it was WHITE instead of the beautiful silvery color we thought we were getting. Still look stunning though! Even in the garage...

I went in with my mom to look at refrigerators. We didnt find anything in our price range, and decided to look else where. A couple days later, we received a very big package outside our door. To our surprise, it was a refrigerator that we were trying to qualify for, but got denied. We thought maybe my dad had bought it for us, as a surprise. A week or two later, we receive a call telling us that they have mistakenly sent us the refrigerator, and that we need to pay for it. My mom set up payments with them. Along with that came them calling us everyday reminding us to make a payment. So rude! They also wanted to charge us FULL price when it was their mistake, and when it had just gone on sale. Uh no. We couldnt return it, we had already moved it in our house and everything! This place is ridiculous, and we should have gotten a better deal on their mistake. Thanks.

We have bought appliances from DeWaard and Bode for 20 years and will continue to do so. Our washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove, freezer and refrigerator all get heavy use in a family of seven. This company has some serious issues with customer service, lack of communication, and product quality.Dryer element goes out, need to have it replaced. They dont stock it, so they have to order the part. Week goes by. Finally get a call saying the part came in, but its busted. Said it might come in next week. So a week later, literally 30 min before closing on the day before to come out, they call to say, hey we have it and we will be out between 1 and 3 tomorrow. Since I dont live by my phone, I dont see the message until the next morning.So I have to run errands. Arrive at my house at 1:01 pm, and they are there and there is a sorry we missed you tag on my door. I pull up, and the older white haired representative says, Im glad you made it, we were hoping you would show up Excuse me, I have been waiting for you to show up for weeks, then you give me less than 24 hrs notice. Then, when I said I actually didnt know you would be here until this morning because I never got a call until last night. He replied, Im sorry for the lack of communication, Ill forward that to my manager so it doesnt happen in the future.Haha just kidding. He didnt apologize, and just doubled down and said, Geez, Im glad you finally showed up. Well sir, Im sorry to have inconvenienced you for 5 minutes, while i have had to drive 30 min to bellingham to dry my clothes every week.So help me god, if they would have left, and I showed up at 1:02 to that notice, I would have returned the dryer. And what company stocks a german made dryer that you cannot reset the heating element when the thermal protections overload? literally EVERY OTHER ONE YOU CAN BUY at home depot, or lowes has reset-able thermal circuits so you dont have replace the whole unit. I didnt know until I heard the nice young man (who did all the work btw) ask the older guy why we couldnt just reset the thermal unit, and he said you cant on these.....oh...... back to screwing.Poor customer service, lack of communication, and questionable quality of products. If the nice young gentleman wasnt there to round out the roughness of the older rep, I would have given 1 star.

Great if youre made of money. Definitely a place for the over privileged and spoiled. Service is great if youre dressed for Maceys. Dont bother shopping there if your budget is tight or if youre both in the mood for pushy sales people.

I am very pleased with our purchase of the dishwasher. We bought a 5 year extended warranty and about once a year or more, whenever we called, a service man would come out and repair our dishwasher, free of charge. Most of the service calls turned out to be something simple like being some kind of food stuck in the pipe. Would buy from again.

I had a great experience here. After my fridge broke and I began comparing new models online from Best Buy, Sears, and Home Depot, someone suggested I go local with DeWaard & Bode. It was my first and last stop. I bought a fabulous new fridge within ten minutes! The warranty and service contract were much better than going through a large corp. like Best Buy or Lowes. The fridge was delivered the next day, on time and now I have a home for my zillions of condiments!Plus they donate refurbished items to local charities!

Easy to work with. We as landlords buy many appliances. Ralf makes it easy for us. Pick it out, pay, give him address and tenants contact #. Its done In a jiffy. No plumber to hook up hoses. So easy compared to others in town. Lowes drops appliances off but doesnt hook them up. You have to schedule a seperate plumber for that. Dewaard and bode delivery people are the best. Im done with the big box hassles.

My review is more or less for the service department. My husband and I purchased all new appliances for our kitchen: range, dishwasher, fridge, vent hood/microwave. We have had nothing but problems out of the appliances. They are all Fridgidaire. I will never buy this brand again mind you. Dewaard and Bode has been out not once or twice, but 6 times. I just recently scheduled another service call, so that will in turn make 7 calls. They have shown up, been prompt, and fixed the current issue EVERY SINGLE TIME. They have never put me off, or been a no show. I really appreciate their understanding and time knowing these were brand new appliances that they shouldnt have had to come out for in the first place. They have never batted an eye to me calling either. I call, they show up. No paperwork or bills for me to fill out and pay while I wait for reimbursement. They are fantastic! If only every service department were as stellar as these guys!

In August 2018, I completed my third major appliance purchase from Jordan at the Dewaard and Bode Store in Bellingham. I could not be more happy with the service I received. Jordan quickly helped me to find the highest quality dishwasher and kept well within my budget. He then arranged to have my new diswasher unit professionally installed in my home within a few days. The installation crew was right on schedule, super fast, and impressively skillful. I read the other reviews and just wanted to give some counter balance to what seem to me fairly harsh ratings for a pretty good store. I mainly shop at the Ding and Dent store on Hannegan and the staff is professional, not pushy and helpful. They dont try and upsell me or hassle me at all. Ive bought quite a few excellent priced appliances from them have not had a problem with the appliances or the people.

Because of some unforeseen events at my home, i missed the service repair from Dewarrd and Bode. When i called, he was able to return and repair my new oven... minor problem. However, Andre, was very knowledgeable about appliances and could tell he loved his job. He gave me great advice about my dishwasher (Meile), oven (Samsung), and even a little info about my washer set. Keep hiring people like this and you guys will keep getting five stars. This is my favorite appliance shop in Bellingham. Everything I have purchased have been great machines. I have bought two ranges, exhausted good for range, two refrigerator/freezers, two dishwasher, clothes washer, clothes dryer, queen size Tempur-Pedic bed. All have been great machines and if there is ever a problem, be it small or larger they are right their to fix it and in fixing that problem if they see a future potential problem they show you it and offer to get it fixed without changing an additional call out fee. This store and the people who work there are the best.

On Saturday, I phoned to order a mattress for our summer cottage in Blaine and the receptionist put me through to a voice message. I left a message and receive no response, so after an Hour I phoned back and got another voice message. Finally, someone phoned back and said they would check what I wanted and call me back. Two hours later when I was out the call came. I called back before 5pm and was told the salesperson was gone for the day. This story goes on, and it is Tuesday afternoon - still no-one has responded again despite my leaving another message. There appears to be a real problem with phone communication.
